Photoshop editing in Iphoto6 = thumbnails dont update!

Hi, Ive been trying different things for my editing so that Iphoto wont loose its way... I did like many other users, drag the phoot out-edit-put it back in and then in full size have a grey screen with exclamation point!!! So I stop doing it that way... I deceided to edit my photos with Photoshop by opening them direcly with the photoshop browser, in the originals file, which seemed like a good idea except that the thumbnails dont automatically update to the new modified picture . But if I open the picture full size in Iphoto it shows the new photo with the modifications...but when I go back to the thumbnail size it shows the old picture instead...
Can anyone help me with this issue...I tried rebuilding but wont help.
If I new exaclly the difference between the different files like data-original and the library.data vs library.iphoto vs library.cache vs dir.data vs library6.iphoto.....
Should I be editing my photos through another file instead of original...Does not seem logic...
Please help or I just might stop using Iphoto!!! To much wasted time....

To continue on with the other question of files in the iPhoto Library folder in the Finder...do not even concern yourself with them.Ttampering with any of them will cause iPhoto problems opening the library.

As you can see the structure is now related to rolls. Rolls are created for each folder you import and each import session from a camera.
It is very easy to change the names of film rolls within iPhoto to make them easier to find images within. Open the info panel in iPhoto by clicking on the "i" icon. Once it is opened, click on the roll title in the viewing window.
Click on the word "title" in the info pane and type in your new title. I like to use a date and text format such as 12/25/05 Christmas at Mom's, 1/05/06 my birthday, etc. Once the roll names are changed within iPhoto, they are also changed within the Finder, making it easy to locate an image.
When importing from a camera, make sure you name the roll with a date and text before the import.
Depending on how many photos you have edited that have not had the thumbnails updated you can...
-drag the photos out of the iPhoto library viewing window to the desktop
-delete the photos from within iPhoto and empty iPhoto's trash
-drag the photo on the desktop back into iPhoto's viewing window. it will import and create the new thumbnail.
If you have a lot of photos you can do it this way...
Close iPhoto
Drag the Data folder and the three thumbnails files as shown in the next screenshot to the desktop.

Hold down the Command and Option keys while launching iPhoto. Keep them held down until you get the rebuild screen. Choose all the thumbnail rebuild options. Let iPhoto do it's thing and hopefully you will get all your thumbnails back.

Photoshop edited image not appearing back in Aperture!!

I'm a Lightroom user but thought I'd try out Aperture 3 for a new project to see if I prefer it.
I scanned in an old family photo album and imported them into Aperture. Some of the photos got torn as I removed them from the pages (they were glued!!) so I thought I'd repair them in Photoshop and also try to remove the paper texture that also got 'scanned' for some of the photos.
When I choose the option "Edit with Adobe Photoshop CS4", I can see a TIFF copy is created and it appears alongside the original image in the viewer. I can also see the physical file in Finder.
However, after I finish editing the image in Photoshop, and save and close it, switch back to Aperture, the TIFF image just disappears from the viewer.
I checked to see if a stack is created, but there isn't one. The physical file still exists in Finder though.
I tried manually importing the edited TIFF image back into the project, but it still doesn't appear!!!
The Aperture library file has increased though, so it seems like something has happened but I just can't seem to access my Photoshop edited image in Aperture.
I have tried this a few times, with different photos, but get the same results.
The other option I tried was regenerating thumbnails for the project but still nothing happens.
Anyone have any suggestions, what's going on??

I've recenlty seen this problem, the file i process in adobe photoshop CS6 comes blank and the previous thumbnail also disappear. I've checked the settings in finder and adobe photoshop cs6 but i didn't change anything there. Can any one help??

I have to make a lot of color corrections because this is film taken from the early 40s to the early 50s. I tried doing it in Avid Studio, Pinnicle studeo and Corel Draws Video Studeo which is what Avid Studio became. None of them alow for the amount of correction allowed in Photoshop. I already owned Photoshop 5 so I upgraded to 6 to take advantage of its advances in video. The plan was to break the converted files up in smaller peices so that Photoshop could handle it and use Premier Pro perhaps to do other post production editing. The origional avi files are a movie about 1 hr and 15 min long and another one about 45 min long. The CODEX is MJPG in avi.

Client dont Update throught Installationserver

i got 25 clients that dont update throught the Installation Server. All 25 Clients are cloned from a Master-PC. On the Master-PC SAP 7.10 was installed. Do i must change a SID that the SAP Update Service use?
I dont found any detailed Information / descirption how SAP Installation works. I mean in witch order the Services on Client and Server communicate together. What Files are involved in this process and what Log files Log. Has somebody these Information or know how do i get these.

First of all you should check if the package version on the Client PC's is lower than the one on the installation server.
Secondly try to go to one of the Client PC's with the userid you have configured on the installation server with remote desktop connection via windows. If that doesn't work, it means the userid you are using to install the client hasn't sufficient permissions to install software to that Client PC. Contact your windows competence center of you company to upgrade the SAPGui Installation Server Userid to an Administration level. So the SAP Software Distribution Service works.
See on the Client PC's if they have all the same WkstaUpdater.cfg file with the correct routing to the installation server.
this file can be found on the C:\Program Files\SAP\SapSetup\setup\Updater directory
Also check if the following 2 processes run on your client pc's
NwSapAutoWorkstationUpdateService.exe
NwSapSetupUserNotificationTool.exe

Canon 1DX support was added to ACR in version 6.7, 7.1. An updated CS6 should be at level ACR 8.6. If your ACR is not at level 8.6 try using CS6 menu Help>Updates. If that does not install ACR 8.6 try downloading the ACR and DNG 8.6 converter and see if ACR 8.6 will install into your CS6.

jpg does not support Layers.
Just to make sure, what exactly do you mean by "stacking photos" and what do you want to achieve thereby?

The value of the Channel Strip volume etc is not stored within the C Strip setting, as you have discovered.
If you really wanted, you could add a Gain plug to the strip, with it set to give the correct output level with the Fader set to 0
(Or just set the fader manually in MS)

In the end it was the NVIDIA software - excluding PS as application for support by high performance graphic processor to save energy - activated NVIDIA card use for PS & LR all fine now.

Photoshop & AfterEffects CC (2014) Refuse to Update

Hi all,
I'm encountering a strange issue with my account...a few days ago an update appeared in CC for Photoshop and AfterEffects. When I attempted to update as usual from the Creative Cloud app, the updates both failed, citing an error code U43M1D204 ("the download appears corrupted").
At this point I started following existing community suggestions and did the following:
Deleted the contents of ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0, restarted CC, restarted computer, etc.—no difference
Uninstalled Photoshop and AfterEffects, then re-installed. They both gave a message stating that installation had completed but that a patch had failed, and thereafter I was getting the same update prompts which failed with the same error code
Attempted to run updates from within each app manually (Help > Updates...), both of which failed with the same error code
The last step at least revealed that the problem is Camera Raw 8, which has an update to Camera Raw 9.0. Knowing that, I tried to manually install the latest version of Camera Raw (both 8 and 9) but even after doing so and rebooting, Creative Cloud and Photoshop/AfterEffects still claim they need updating, and of course those updates still fail.
To make things even more interesting, the same issue is present on my second licensed machine as well, not just this one. Both are Macs, running Yosemite (10.10.3). One is an iMac and one is a Mac Pro 3,1.
Is anyone else encountering this? Is there some other place that the update data is being downloaded that I can delete to force it to try downloading again? Is there another solution? Would appreciate any assistance.

Photoshop CS6 Camera Raw 8.2 update fails

I am on OS X 10.8.4, Photoshop CS6, ACR 8.1.
The "A" icon on my menu bar shows 1 update available.
When I open the CC updater, it says Photoshop CS6 is up to date.
When I open Photoshop CS6 and go to Help/Updates, it shows "Photoshop Camera Raw 7 0.0KB". Note the 7 not 8.
When I click "Update", I get "Adobe Application Manager quit unexpectedly". Following are the first few lines of the dump. Is there a way to get past this?

Thanks to Andrew_Hart for posting the direct download links to ACR 8.2. I direct downloaded and installed ACR 8.2 for CS6. That solved my problem.

In Acrobat.com i see the contents update, but in iPad/Adobe Content Viewer not.
