Photoshop Elements 8: Watch Folder on Network Drive

I have all my photos on a network drive, I am trying to access via
this computer and every time I add the folder to the watched folder, it says "access is denied".
What is the proper way to add photos from a network device?

I have been using the full network path, but that doesn't appear to be the problem. When I enter the path, it says access is denied. I made
sure that the folder is shared with all so there shouldnt be a permission issue. Any other thoughts?

Have you checked your services panel to see what is running and what is not running? If this particular service isn't running then you can right-click on the column for that service and change it to Automatic as shown in the picture attached here:

The dialog you show there looks like it may be a CS6 open dialog running on windows 8.1 that is showing what is local. Network is not highlighted selected.

I am trying to deactivate my photoshop Elements 9 on a crashed c drive, now on a external drive connected to my new computer. When I open, from the old C drive the deactivation option is not highlighted on the drop down menu- its not available. How do I deactivate this version on the old C drive(now external) so I can Activate on my new drive?

How to get Photoshop Elements 4 to recognize a network scanner

I have an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. Elements 4 recognizes it when it is connected to the usb port. When I put the printer/scanner/copier on the network, Elements 4 does not see it. Is there a way for Photoshop Elements 4 to recognize a network device?

If you mean PSE 12, download the trial and enter your serial number into that.

Elements 12: Watch Folder service: Access Denied

When trying to add a folder to the Watch Folder service, I receive the following error;
The Watch Folder service returned an error: Access is denied.
My suspicions are that this may somehow be related to Google Drive. I'm working with folders directly on my hard drive (C:) and am the administrator and show ownership of all the folders I wish to watch. The 'My Pictures' folder is a sub folder of my Google Drive folder. I can watch the Google Drive folder but any sub folder returns the error. Also not all the My Pictures sub folders are visible. Any other folder on my Drive C: or Drive D: I'm able to watch without problem. Has anyone else experienced this issue? The Google Drive may, however, just be a red herring. The problem may well lie elsewhere.

First of all, please see that you have administrator priviliges because such message may appear when you are trying to access any folder that require Administrator priviliges but you donot have one.
If this is the case, please try running Elements as Run As Administrator.
Otherwise, please give this a try:
Go to the Control Panel and open Services. Select Adobe Active File Monitor V6 and click the Properties button. On the Logon tab, change to “This account” and enter your account name and password.

Using Photoshop Elements 11 on a USB flash drive

At school we have photoshop elements installed on a few of the PC's and right now I am working on one that doesn't have it installed. I thought of this earlier yesterday and copied the files from the photoshop elements folder to my USB from the pc have at home. And here at school I tried running the "PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe" from the PSE folder on my USB, so it opened a window asking which country I live in, I gave the answer and when I clicked okay it opened a new window with the title "configuration error" and with the contents "Please uninstall and reinstall the product.
If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

and then after clicking "okay" it opens another window saying "A required application library failed to load and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application.", and then an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 has stopped working. Close the program?"
So, I have a fully functional copy on both my computers at home, activated and I copied the folder that has the files to run PSE to my USB. Can I make it work somehow at my school's computers from the USB? Also is it okay to have your Adobe Software on a portable flash drive? I have tried the same with the Kingsoft Presentation and it worked. Also these computers are running Windows 7 enterprise.

You can't run PSE from a USB drive, nor can you transfer PSE to a different computer via a USB drive. PSE must be installed on a computer using the installer program provided by Adobe.

Watch Folders and Network Drives

Hello,
I'm trying to find a solution to this and it's driving me crazy. I would like to use a network drive as a watch folder in PSE. I have PSE3 and am curious if this has been fixed in PSE4 (which removes the network drive after you add it, which is very annoying).
I'm curious if anyone has gotten this to work through either using an NT domain account for the file service or any other solutions.
Any ideas?

Well I finally figured out a way to get this working, but it's truly a pain. I moved all my machines into a domain and ran the "Adobe Active File Monitor" service under a domain account that has permissions on all shares I want to watch.
It doesn't seem to work with mapped drives - instead you have to go in through the network neighborhood, but it does work. At that point you can have PSE watch folders pick up changes on a network share.

ITunes media folder on network drive

Hi Everyone,
My plan is to store my media files in a folder on a network drive, and then have itunes pull from that network directory to located media. On two of my machines, I changed the media folder to the directory on the network drive. I had itunes consolodate the files, and copy all the files from each machine onto the network directy. At this point, I was expecting to see all media files from both computers in each itunes library, however, this is not the case. Instead, only the files that were originally stored on their respective machines are displayed in each library, as opposed to one library showing all files now on the one network directory. Is there a way to have itunes refresh itself so that it can see the files in the network directory that I have designated as the media folder? Thanks in advance.

Was the library database stored or backed up to the networked drive? If so you can hold down shift as you start iTunes to reconnect to the database, otherwise you'll have to rebuild the library with the content.

How do I download Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0 without a CD drive? I have the access code.

I recently got a new computer that does not have a CD/DVD drive. I have the installation CD for Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0 and the access code for it, but currently no way to install the program on my new computer. Is there a way I can download Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0 and then just enter my access code?

Photoshop Elements 13 installation without a CD drive

I bought Photoshop Elements 13 at Best Buy. My laptop doesn't have an optical drive. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can install and activate the program?
I tried downloading from the Adobe site and using my registration code from the box to activate but the code is not recognized

Photoshop Elements 8 "Watch Files" function produces error message

My new PE8 is on a Windows 7 laptop and my pictures are on a networked server operating under Windows XP. The Windows file sharing works fine and I have successfully imported all pictures into the new PE 8 organiser catalogue. So far so good. However, when I try to implement "Watch Folders" by using the "Browse" command, the correct path "\\server\Data (D)\Server-pictures\" comes into the "Watch Folders" window. Then, when I click on "OK",I receive an errror massage: "The Watch Folder Service returned an error "Access is denied". Does anyone have a solution to the problem?

Thank you very much. I will try that tomorrow (I'm in Germany and its getting late!). Please can you tell me how to apply the "UNC syntax (\\mycomputer\photos)" you mention to the path which the Browse command in the Watch Folders set-up produces. That is: " \\Server\Data_(D)\Server_Pictures\".
Also if you have another clue about how to deal with the change to "Services" it would help a lot. I have tried to do as you suggest and after I've put the user password in, I get a message "System Service Management could not detirmine whether the account "Admin1-pc\Tom" already has the Log on as a Service right. If not the Service might ot run correctly" When I restart the service I sure enough get the error message "1069 Windows could not start the service due to log on failure". What have I not done?Thanks in advance for your patience!

Photoshop elements 13 and canon protoprinter pro driver

I installed elements 13 to my computer and my automation tools such as canon photoprinter pro printer are no longer visible. Yje driver still exsists for my photoshop elements 12 and prints without a problem. I reinstalled the canon drivers without and chnage to photoshop elements 13.
There must be an issue with elements 13.1. Any ideas?

You can always download the trial version before paying for it. Use it for 30 days and then buy the boxed version to activate your trial product. You only need to insert the serial number to activate the trial version if you decide to buy the boxed version.
