Photoshop Elements does not start under Windows Vista
The Twain-Module of my Canon CanoScan FS4000US Filmscanner works only under Windows Vista (no newer OS!). Fortunately I own an older Notebook with Vista as OS, so I have PSE Version 5.0.2 installed and use it to import my old color negatives via the twain module. Fine! It even works with 42 bit. But suddenly, PSE refuses to start and freezes at the window loading the libraries. At this stage it can only be stopped with the help of the task manager. A little search in the internet informs me that I am not the only user with that specific problem. Any help from Adobe?
After a view days of searching a found a solution: I installed the MS Visual C++ Reditributable für Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 (both 32 bit and 64 bit) and now Photoshop Elements runs without any problems.

My Photoshop Elements does not start any more. It gives response "Photoshop elements cannot start or continue because of missing file(s). Please reinstall." How do I get the installing file again (I bought it from Adobe via internet the first time december 2013?)
Did you download the Basic/Free version?
I also thought the Trial period was as long as you needed!?
What is your Warranty and Return Policy?
You get to use VueScan for as long as you want before you buy it, so we recommend you test it before you buy it to make sure it meets your needs.
All sales are final and there are no refunds.
Isn't this a bit harsh? Naah I actually prefer to solve problems, and if I offer refunds, people give up too easily. If I can't solve your problem after you send a few Problem Reports (see above), I'm happy to give a refund.

I have installed Photoshop Elements 3.0 from original disk on my MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.6.8. The installation was successful. However, when I try to run Photoshop Elements, it does not start, with the message "Could not complete your request because of missing or invalid personalization information". I uninstalled Adobe Elements and deleted all Adobe files from both the System Library Preferences and from the User Library Preference. Then tried the installation again. The installation was successful, but the application fails to start with the same missing/invalid-personalization-information message.
Please adviseI am sorry Invalid Personalization but Photoshop Elements 3.0 requires a PowerPC processor or Rosetta installed in order to function. You can find the system requirements at System requirements | Adobe Photoshop Elements.
You may want to try following the steps listed at Mac OS X 10.6: If you need to install Rosetta to attempt to install Rosetta. That may still not resolve your licensing issue however as the application was also designed for Mac OS 10.2.8 and 10.3. -
Photoshop Elements does not start for the second time
Hello,
our customer has problem with PS Elements 12. He can start it for the first time and everything works fine. But when he closes the program and tries to start it again, it will not start. It doesnt even say anything. No error mesages or anything. He tried to instal a trial version of PS E 13 and it does the same thing.
He's running Win 7 SP1 64 bit
Any sugestions? Thank you.Hi,
It has been known that the Welcome screen sometimes fails to close properly and prevents a second load.
Most people have overcome the problem by creating a shortcut direct to the two main applications.
Organizer: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Editor: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"

Photoshop Elements does not start
Hello,
I bought and installed Photoshop Elements a view month ago and it worked fine. Yesterday I wanted to edit a photo, but it was not possible to do any changes to the photo, because the program crashed every time I tried. So I reinstalled the program and now it doesn't even start anymore. If I start it over the select screen (Organizer/Editor) it says "Photoshop Elements funtkioniert nicht mehr, es wird nach einer Lösung gesucht" and if I start the editor directly I get an error message: PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe - Einsprungpunkt nicht gefunden. Der Prozedureinsprungpunkt "__crtCreateSymbolicLinkW" wurde in der DLL "MSVCR110.dll" nicht gefunden. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? After a view days of searching a found a solution: I installed the MS Visual C++ Reditributable für Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 (both 32 bit and 64 bit) and now Photoshop Elements runs without any problems.

Firefox version 3.5.16 will not start under Windows Vista and Windows 7 32bit
I have a Windows Vista computer that will not start any newer version of Firefox than 3.5.16. The process will run (as seen in the Task Manager) but do nothing.
I have since updated Windows to version 7 and the problem persists.
I have tried uninstalling Firefox and all Addons (flash-player, pdf-reader) and deleting all files (even user-specific ones).
Firefox can't be started in Profilemanger or safe-mode either.
Is there anything short of reinstalling windows I can try?Solved it!
It was a dodgy version of Firebug (1.6.2) running, which would kill the disable/update process. It was killing something on the first run that would corrupt my Firefox.
How I fixed it:
* Download the latest Firefox
* Install Firefox 4 (as Standard) in-place upgrade
* Before finishing, un-tick the "Run Firefox Now" button
* Hit Finish
* Find Firefox in the Start Menu and hold Shift and click the executable (safe mode)
* Leave everything disabled
* You should now have a working Firefox!
Remove/update your add-ons as needed. I only had to upgrade Firebug in safe mode to get it working.
Odd how the check for updates completely broke this Firefox, wonder what was so bad about Firebug.
Hope this helps at least one other person! The "Run in Safe Mode" option is so hard to discover now when your browser is broken! -
Are there any issues with Firefox 10 and Vista? IE works.
Hi webero,
There are no Known Issues that I am aware of. You should take a look at [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]] and our article called [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firefox-not-start Firefox will not start].
Hopefully this helps! -
Just got iPhone 5, get home and find iCloud Outlook Add-in does not install under Windows XP. I am loathe to upgrade to Windows Vista/7/8 just yet. Can I obtain and use an earlier version of iCloud Outlook Add-in? My iPad II synchronizes!
There is no 'earlier' version that supports XP. iCloud launched with Vista/7 support only.

PS10 Elements does not open in Windows 8, or opens only once. Can it be fixed?
PS Elements 10 preinstalled on my new computer with Windows 8. It worked fine for a week, now opens once, then won't open again, or doesn't open at all. Adobe gives no support to fix this (they told me to research the answer on their site), yet their info says PS 10 and Windows 8 are compatible. Automatic troubleshooter gives non-compatibility message. Can this be fixed? Have spent many hours trying to figure this out. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing works so far.
Thank you for your help. I tried ctrl-alt-shift, and it worked a few times, but not every time. After trying your suggested fix, here's what I've since found that works - so far - today.Open Task ManagerClose PS Elements 10Close Task ManagerLaunch PS Elements 10 Please keep in mind that I was closing the program the usual way (from the program) all along. I used an older version of PS Elements for years on my old computer (Windows XP), and never had a problem launching or closing the software. This problem came about on a new computer with PS Elements 10 and Windows 8. No other versions of PS Elements were installed on the new computer, nor were any settings brought over from the old computer. Again, thanks for your input. Will keep your suggestion in mind for any future troubles with Adobe products.

Good day! You may want to post on the Photoshop Elements Forum. http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop_elements In general trashing the Preferences (by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting the application) can be helpful with malfunctions in many Adobe applications. Can you list your computer hardware specs.? Special attention needs to be paid to the I/O (Input & Output), or the HDD's (Hard Disk Drives), their size, speed, amount of free-space, etc.Are you attempting to do the installation to the default location, or to a custom location? Good luck, and let us know a bit more please.
Hunt

WHY DOESN'T THE COMPANY STATE ACROBAT XI PRO DOES NOT WORK WITH WINDOWS VISTA.
THE COMPANY NEEDS TO WARN PEOPLE. THE ACROBAT TECH SUPPORT FINALLY FIGURED OUT THAT IT'S NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS VISTA.The Acrobat website and the box lists the compatible OSs. You want Adobe to list all of the incompatible OSs---going back how far.
Acrobat XI Pro system requirements
These system requirements are for Adobe® Acrobat® XI Pro software, v11.0. Because system requirements change with each software update, refer to the Release Notes for your software version for the latest information on supported operating systems and browsers.

Question
better privacy does not work with windows vista home prem. what other program removes LSO'S AND HOW can I stop trackers? edit
DetailsAs a temporary workaround, I believe this Adobe management page allows you to clear your "Flash cookies": [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel] (hosted on macromedia.com -- Macromedia was the original developer of Flash).
Regarding the script error, if I'm reading the script correctly, it is related to accessing your Flash cookies directory. It seems the publisher's support forum is not currently available for searching, but that might be a good next step.
In the meantime, could you check whether the script has the correct location for your Flash cookies directory? If you can't access Tool > BetterPrivacy, you could check here:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''bpr''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) There should be a bolded setting named '''extensions.bprivacy.DataDir''' which looks approximately like the following:
C:\Users\''yourWindowsUsername''\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia
Do you have a similar value? If you paste the path used by BetterPrivacy into a Windows Explorer window, does it open? Also, click a couple levels in the folder, can you see:
Flash Player \ #SharedObjects
If the value is wrong, right-click the wrong value and choose Reset. BetterPrivacy should update the value the next time you try to access it.
If the value is blank, you could try inserting a sensible value and see whether that helps.
Any luck? -

my computer says that this version of photoshop elements is not compatible with windows 7. What do I do?
Care to give us some details of exactly what it is that you're trying to do? Telling us the version of PSE would also help.
