Photoshop Elements - Upgrade from 12 to 13 or just buy the full version of 13
I need to get Photoshop Elements 13 so that it will recognize my new camera files. To Upgrade is $79, but to buy it is $69. Is there a difference? Can I just buy it and uninstall 12? I'm confused.
upgrading or installing a newer version would not delete the older version and they would both behave same. So you can choose either of them. If buying PSE13 costs you less, you should go for it. You don't have to uninstall 12 too. They both can remain on your machine.

So, I dowloaded to the free trial of lightroom. After I used it for 30 days, I then Clicked the 'buy' button followed the steps, payed for the product, claimed the serial number, plugged in the number for the product, and then it presents me with a screen that says i only bought the upgrade and I need my original serial number. Why did it do this. I just paid for and upgrade to a product I never had. And the website never told me that I was buying an upgrade. I followed the steps and they practically took 85 bucks from me. How do I fix this? and why did they do this too

It probably did but it was not made clear enough to you.
The default buying option on most screens (exact screens vary) is the Upgrade version. Unfortunately this subtlety catches many newbies out.

I've been trying to export my videos after installing the Mavericks upgrade and FCP does not let me. On one of the forums I was told to upgrade to FCP 10.6.
Is this a free upgrade or do I have to buy the newest version again?The current version is 10.0.9. The update to 10.0.9 from 10.0.1 is free. Log in to the App Store *with the same Apple ID used to buy the application* and click on "Updates".

I am using 10.4.11. Trying to upgrade Itunes so I can set up our new IPad. However, to upgrade Itunes, I have to upgrade OS. Do I need to buy the full version of 10.5, or can I just purchase the upgrade? (about $100 difference). All this just to get our Ipad to work....
It requires the full Retail version to get Loeopard/10.5, ($129), now there is a $29 Snow Leopard /10.6 Disc, but...

You have to call Apple & likely ask for a Product Specialist to get it, if they still have it! Helps to tell them you have an iPad/iPhone & you can't run 10.6.
There are workarounds if the 867MHz is the only hangup...

Excuse me moinpara, but I know how you feel and I have been there many of times. It is not Itunes fault that your purchase inquiry was proposed to you as invalid, rather much more sort of than rather it being. If this happened to me, I would research that App, try to find out what went wrong. Heh, if you or I were to ask myself I could either tell you that you are putting yourself in a hole! Woah, but now this seems to me like something that would be simple to just contact an iPhone or apple associate and tell them why this happened to you, especially right after Christmas, or whatever religious holiday you choose to follow
If I were to be in your shoes I would of spent the money in the itunes store on something else! But that is just me. -
UPGRADING FROM OS 3.0, BETA 5, TO FULL VERSION GS 3.0 SEED

Why not just wait until Wednesday and do the 3.0 update when it is released in iTunes?

Re Photo Books. Hi I have an old full version of Photoshop 6 and Elements 12. Elements 12 serves pretty well all my editing needs. It has a Photo Book facility but the Template is not brilliant eg It is clumsy adding captions. I have been looking at Lightroom 5 which seems to have a great Photo Book facility but do I have to Buy the full Light Room 5 programme to use it? If so, what is the cost?

pretty good and quite easy to use. Many thanks for this suggestion. I
have had a look around and I find there are many "publishers" and
although Blurb comes out well in many reviews, there are many others
also. But there is one big problem for me - they ALL produce BOUND Photo
Books but I want a flexible Photo Book where I can later add or change
pages! Nobody I have found produces a book where pages can be printed
separately to be added when and where required in a book!
I have posted another question in the Forum asking if anyone knows of
such a publisher - especially in the UK, where I live.
The reason I want the ability to insert pages etc is for a number of
reasons. For example, I am producing an historical Photo Book but if
friends send me photos of a past era, I want to scan the photos, put
them on a separate page and then insert that page in the appropriate era
in my book or I may later want to enlarge an old photograph already in
the book and insert the enlargement next to the original etc. etc.
I have printed some pages myself using Photoshop Elements, which was not
the ideal tool as I mentioned before, but when the A4 pages were placed
in clear plastic A4 pockets and inserted in my smart presentation Ring
Binder, the result looked brilliant. But I have hundreds of photographs
and I dread to think what the cost of ink would be if I printed them all
myself, let alone the time!
But I am beginning to think I may after all have to print them myself
and that, as I have several hundred or more, the cost of buying
Lightroom 5 may be worth it in the long run.
Anyway, thanks for coming back to me with your views regarding my

Download versions are for one platform only, but that won't matter if you buy an upgrade. However, if you're in the US later this week you'll almost certainly be able to find the full version for much less than adobe's upgrade price, at big box stores and online retailers.

I have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro 7,1 and am replacing the HD. I want to do a fresh install of Snow Leopard but don't have the disks that came with my computer. Is the retail version of Snow Leopard what I need or are the original install disks that came with the computer different?

Upgrade from InDesign CS 5.5 to the Latest Version

I purchased InDesign CS 5.5, the Middle Eastern version, and was thinking of upgrading to the latest one. Do I have to subscribe to the cloud service to be able to do that? I ask because I don't need any other Adobe product, not a single one.
And I heard now that there are not any Middles Eastern/non Middle Eastern versions now, they are all one and that all the functionality of the previously separate Middle Eastern versions can be found on the new InDesign versions?
Thank you.You can subscribe to just InDesign CC, or the whole Cloud. There are separate ME versions, still, but if you are a Cloud subscriber then the version you download is dependent upon the language you select in the Creative Cloud app manager preferences. You get access to both versions as a subscriber.
I suspect you could buy a desktop retail license of InDesign CS6 ME if you wanted to do so. -

PSE13 upgrade from PSE9 more expensive than buying full version?
Looking into upgrading PSE9 to PSE13. Noticing today that the upgrade price is 79.99 whereas buying the full version all over again is only 69.99(On discount). Any reason why I wouldn't want to just buy the full version again
The upgrade option is a marketing ploy. Buy PSEv13 at the discounted price.

CS will not upgrade to CS5. Historically, only CS2-CS4 ever qualified for upgrade to CS5. Those versions are all long superseded and no longer available from Adobe.
Adobe currently only sells CS6 (for outright purchase) and the Cloud (by subscription only). Cloud members have access to both CS6 and CC.
The only way to upgrade to CS6 is from CS5. Adobe no longer sells CS5. Unless you purchase the full version of CS5 from elsewhere (I don't see any point in that in this case) you would not be able to upgrade to CS6. You'd have to buy the full version of CS6. Or subscribe to one of the Cloud plans. PS+LR is an excellent deal if you use those products.
