Photosmart 8750 4x6 photo printing skewed

I am using a Photosmart 8750 on a home network with 4 computers, one with XP-Pro SP3, one with XP-Home SP3, one with Win98-SE, and I've just done a clean install on the 4th machine of Vista-Ultimate 64-bit SP-1. The three older machines can print a 4x6 photo on 4x6 paper flawlessly, with or without borders. The new Vista machine prints with no border at the top and 1/2-inch border down the right side. The bottom and left borders look to be about 1/8-inch. If I switch to "borderless 4x6" The same thing happens--a 1/2-inch border on the right, the top of the photo is cut off, and a small border on the left and bottom. The application I'm using on the Vista machine is the Windows Photo Gallery, but I have the same problem if I print from Photoshop elements.
This can't be caused by the media or the printer since three machines can print perfectly using the same photo file on the same printer. I have tried every setting in Printer Preferences to no avail. I noticed someone else with a different model printer had the same problem but didn't say what OS was running. Has anyone else had this problem and come up with a reliable fix?
Letters on 8.5x11 in Word or Excel print perfectly.

Still having the same issues (messed up 4x6 printing and bottom line cut off of text) and add another one. Today I attempted to print an 8x10 photo from Photoshop Elements v6.0 and got the message "program has stopped responding." After several attempts I decided to try printing from Windows "Photo Gallery" but nothing happens. The printer makes a noise as if it is about to print but then nothing happens.
I can print over my network to my older Laser Jet printer and I can go to another computer running XP-Pro with SP3 and print beautifully on the Photosmart 8750, but from 64-bit Vista, nothing happens when attempting to print an 8x10 on 8.5x11 photo paper. I've tried loading drivers for a different model printer but that was unsuccessful. Anyone have a solution to these problems?

  • Photosmart 8750 won't print sharp black and white photos

I am trying to print some black and white photographs using my photosmart 8750 printer.  Up until now, I have just done color photographs.  After printing my first black and white photograph, I'm very disappointed.  While it is definitely gray scale, the dark black colors in the photo aren't coming out black at all...just a shade of gray.  I have the gray photo cartridge installed.  Is that my problem?  Everywhere I read, it says that is what should be used.

Try the troubleshooting steps in this page. Does the diagnostic page print properly?

  • Partial 4x6 photo prints

Have a Photosmart C4400.  When printing 4x6 photos on HP premium photo paper, only the bottom 1/3 prints.
It will print a 4x6 with 8x11 premium paper.  Not the solution I'm looking for.
    Any idea's?

    Hi Bryan,
This is certainly strange. What type of printer is this? Is it network or directly connected? Also, I did not understand from your first post: did using File»Print also give you 1/4 of the page or did that work as expected?
Can your printer print other documents perfectly - such as opening the saved html file and going to File»Print from there?

  • Using C4795 printer for 4X6 photo printing. Prints not registered, can start randomly on page, skip

C4795, printing 4X6 photos with new iMAC and iPhoto software.  Downloaded latest drivers.  Printing starts randomly on page,
sometimes skipping half a page, sometimes just a sliver.  Prints are OK with my other 8150 printer, but not 4795.  Any ideas?
    Thanks, John

    Hi John.
Perhaps it's a printer configuration problem (maybe the paper size is set to a different value than what's in the printer), but you may want to try printing with HP Photo Creations as a test. The program is a free download from www.hp.com/go/hppc, and can load photos from your iPhoto library.
Here's a quick tutorial on printing 4x6 photos with HP Photo Creations:

  • HP Photosmart 8750 won't print Diagnostic page.

I can't get the printer to print like the picture looks on the monitor. It prints dull and the colors are darker. So I followed these steps to print a diagnostic page and it doesn't print. I also have genuine HP cartridges installed.
Make sure the printer is on and the main tray is loaded with unused, plain, white paper. Adjust the paper guides, as needed, against the stack of paper.
Press and hold the Layout and Right Arrow keys for several seconds until the printer screen displays the message Tap Test #0.
Press the Select Photos ( ) button to print the diagnostic page.
It shows the "Tap Test #0" but when I press "select" nothing happens.

I think the problem has been solved.  Thanks!

  • L7680 Won't print 4x6 photo-Error Code B842F086

Prints letter size OK. Test page and alignment pages good.  When I try to print 4x6 photos, printer locks up and I get an immediate error message “Turn power off then on again”, then error code B842F086.  Later, the message “….Improper shut down”

Yes, it has always printed 4x6 just fine. I am talking about 'borderless'  4x6.  Just as an experiment, I tried 4x6 with border and one other 4x6 format (don't remember), no joy.  They I retried 4x6 bordrless and it worked fine.  Printed several sets of photos.
    Go figure???

  • Off center 4x6 photos

Is it my printer or something else? Printing 4x6 photos with an HP L7590 AIO from iPhoto and the right margin or the top margin is but a sliver depending on whether it's horizontal or vertical. Contacted Hp support and their suggestion was to use HP Photosmart Studio for printing. The margins are more equal with that option but it's a bit more time consuming than printing directly from iPhoto. There must be a setting somewhere for the margins. I thought that maybe by constraining the image to 4x6 would be the answer but the photos still come out off center. Even when printing borderless there is a narrow white margin on one side even with 5x7s. Haven't tried printing a 5x7 without checking borderless so I don't know what the results would be.
I would like to begin with solving the non-centered 4x6 photo printing first.

Thank you LN for your suggestions.
I deleted the .plist file, reset the personal preferences and printed a horizontal 4x6 photo that was previously constrained to 4x6 in iPhoto.
Unfortunately, the top margin on the horizontal print is about 1/16" and the bottom one is 3/16".
The left margin is almost 5/16" and the right side is closer to 1/2".
The paper is 4x6 hp advanced glossy Q7906A and the measurements above are after removing the tear off tab.
The iPhoto library has never been moved from its original location.

  • Borderless Photo Prints on Canon CP-200 (Selphy)

I am trying to print photos on a Canon photo printer, a CP-200 (small 4x6" photo printer). The printer is recognized by Leopard, and it does print.. just not the way I want.
No matter what settings I adjust, I cannot get it to print borderless (which is the normal printing mode, if I hook a camera directly to the printer it prints borderless). I tried the custom printer settings, where it had an option for "Borderless: Yes/No" but it still didn't print borderless.
On my old G4 Mini, I installed the Canon drivers, and was able to print borderless. But, Canon doesn't make Intel drivers for this printer, so I cannot go that route. My only workaround so far is to print from Windows (in a Parallels VM), which is really clunky.
    Any tips?

FWIW, In Mac OS X 10.5.1, I did not have any drivers available in "Add Printer" for the CP-200, so I downloaded the ancient "CP Driver 2.41 OS X" from Canon's web site (2/17/04, certified for Mac OS X 10.2) and ran that installer and rebooted. I didn't even have to go through the "Add Printer" step. My CP-200 simply appeared in the Print dialog's popup.
I can print borderless in iPhoto, but I haven't tried any other settings or applications, given the cost of experimenting.
I installed Leopard with "Archive & Install" and I believe I let it install Canon drivers, but I didn't see more than 2 or 3 Canon choices when I initially tried the "Add Printer" popup.

    4x6 Photos printing off center

    Hello Matteo321,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the photos not being centered.
Please remove the rear access panel of the printer and make sure that the little wheels on the panel spin freely and that we do not have any little bits of paper caught in the rollers.
When reconnecting the rear access panel, please make sure that both sides click into place.  If one side is not closed, the prints will go through the printer crooked.
Also, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Write me back at any time if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • HP Photosmart 8750 prints slow when using Photo Gray Cartidge

HP Photosmart 8750 prints slow when using Photo Gray Cartidge ... sometimes indicates Black Cartridge failed, however upon reinserting works slow

Welcome to the HP Forums ButchG,
I see by your post that when printing with the photo gray cartridge the black cartridge will indicate that it has failed.
I can help you with this issue.
I would do a power reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
With the printer still turned on, disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer, if the printer has external power module with a detachable power cord disconnect it for 15 seconds and then reconnect it.
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to drain the power.
Then disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet.
Wait 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable back to the wall outlet first, then the back of the printer and power it on again.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
I have provided a document for the cleaning the contacts and reseating the cartridge.
'Cartridge Failed' or 'Cartridge Not Compatible' Error Message.
    What are the ink levels?
Are you using Genuine HP Cartridges?
Check the date on the cartridges to make sure they are still in warranty. (not old stock)
If you need further assistance, let me know.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • Photosmart C7250 trouble printing 4x6 photos

I can't get the printer to print from the 4x6 photo paper stack when I print from the computer.  It will print from that stack if I bring the photo to the printer using external medium but then it prints it the wrong size.  If I send the print command from the computer it prints the right size but on the full size paper tray.  I created the original to be 3.3x4.8 and it will print that way on plain paper from the lower tray.  If I load the photo on a memory card it will print on the 4x6 paper but will enlarge it to 4x6.
I am using a Macbook Pro OSX 10.5.8 wirelessly to the Photosmart C7250.

We don't.  We fix your account. First do the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder:
    User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

  • Unable to print borderless 4x6 photos with the Photosmart 7510 printer.

I am unable to print borderless 4x6 photos with the Photosmart 7510 printer.  There are no option listed for any size borderless printing when i choose the paper size and paper type.   I am running Windows 7 Home Premium  64-bit.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I found it. Once you hit print, click on the options link. It opens a separate window. In that window there are two links, one says color management and the other says printer properties, click printer properties. That opens a new window, in that window click the advanced button. That opens a new window titled HP 7510 Advanced options, under the printer feature section near the bottom you will see "Borderless Printing". Left click on that and to the right a drop down menu opens, select borderless, hit ok. After you do this, it will print borderless however you will still NOT see that option when you print, like you used to with the older HP printers. I couldn't find it in the help section, I just stumbled upon it, very frustrating! It will print borderless.
