Photosmart D110 not printing pink

My pritner hasn't been printing the pink colors.  I went through the diagnostics on HP Print and Scan Doctor and everything, including my color levels, were fine.  I printed a test page and the pink block didn't show up.  As suggested, I cleaned the printheads.  Then when I reprinted the test page, none of the color blocks showed up.  Are there any fixes out there, or should I just get a new printer?

I would not suggest replacing the D110a for this print quality issue, at least at this time. Since this printer uses the HP 60 cartridges, the printheads are part of the cartridge. Issues like yours are usually caused by the printheads, how many times have you ran the cleaning?
I would suggest taking a look at this: Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems, some steps will have been done already, I would suggest trying them again just to be safe. Trying a replacement cartridge would be the best troubleshooting step for you, if it fixes the issue contact HP to check the warranty status on the problem ink cartridge.

  • HP Photosmart D110 not printing.

    I recently had a problem with it printing all the pages of PDF files, now it just won't print at all. It won't even print a status page or quality page by trying so on the printer itself. It just hands at printing indefinitely until you press cancel or turn off the printer. I've tried turning it off and back on several times, replaced the ink cartridges with new ones, restored to factory defaults, completely unplugged it and tried a new outlet and so far nothing has worked. Is there any way to truly reset it back to out-of-the-box status or wiping it completely? Or are there any other troubleshooting steps I could try? Any help will be much appreciated.

  • My Photosmart D110 series printer prints random documents all on its own

    I turned on the my Photosmart D110 series printer after being away for a few days and discovered that it was halfway through installing an update that I hadn't ordered.  I quickly aborted this process, but not before the printer began relentlessly printing random documents from my files; as soon as I cancelled, it began printing another.  The print queue is empty.  I uninstalled and reinstalled.  I downloaded and ran the HP Print Doctor, which says all is OK.  I unplugged and unplugged some more.  And it still does it.  My operating system is XP 2002 (yes, I know, I know...).   Do I need to throw in the towel and get a new printer?

        The printer will only print what the PC sends to it, so I would look more into your pc than the printer.  What you might try to do is uninstall the printer and re-install, but keep in mind that the pc is sending those print jobs to the printer.  Are you sure that the printer is printing files from your PC, this printer does have apps and it can be set up to print those on a daily basis.

    It would appear that the HP Photosmart Plus 209B is not compatible with AirPrint. Without AirPrint you can only print via an App.

  • Snow Leopard vs HP Photosmart D110 series Printer

    After installing Snow Leopard, my HP Photosmart D110 series Printer is no longer recognized.  I suddenly can't print anything from my laptop where I have just installed Snow Leopard.   The printer is working fine with my iMac where I have not upgraded to Snow Leopard yet.  I've tried the HP setup assistant to no avail.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Trouble connecting HP Photosmart D110 wireless printer to D-Link router

    We just installed our new all in one modem/wireless router that we received from Verizon yesterday.  The computers connected fine but our HP Photosmart D110 wireless printer will not connect.  We tried many different things.  It connects fine when using the new D-Link with our old wireless router connected.  It will also connect to the modem if there is no security encryption.  Does anyone know how to solve this problem?  Thank you!

    I see you are having troubles with your black ink.
    Please ensure you have completed all of the steps in the following document; Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages. Although I hope this resolves the issue, it might not. As you have a 6520, If the issue persists, I would suggest calling HP Phone Support even though the printer may be out of warranty as you may require a replacement printer. The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US, or you can Contact HP Worldwide. 
    Please let me know if the document resolves the issue, or if you called HP and the outcome of the call. Thanks.

    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you are having some printing issues when attempting to print in colour.
    I do have a few steps that we can try.
    First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general.   • HP Photosmart C5380 not printing colors as it should

    I'm having a problem with printing. Up until the other day I was printing ok, but suddenly when I went to print instead of printing red, a yellowish orange color was printing, and purple was printing a very light blue. I cleaned the printhead, which resulted in red printing in yellow. I used the clean printhead option on the printer settings, colors are printing mostly ok. Just some lines are more faded than others. The colors that print with this are orange, green, purpule, yellow, pink and blue. I also tried to print in grayscale, which ended up printing in green. Any ideas of how to fix this problem???   • HP Photosmart 6510 not printing black after cartridge cchange

    I see the issue of not being able to print in black after a black cartridge change is not new.  This is not the first time I have change the black cartridge but it is the first time I had this issue arise.  I have followed the various peices of advice and troubleshooting suggested to no avail.  
    Troubleshooting done thus far:
    Remove and reseat black ink cartridge 
    Run Clean Printer head tool several times...first used printer menu and then a few times using HP tool on PC
    Run align print heads several times...first used printer menu and then a few times using HP tool on PC
    Black either does not print or is very light, almost illegible.  Any other troubleshooting techniques?

    For the Photosmart 6510 the troubleshooting steps in the document here may help.  Especially make sure the vents are cleared.  If that does not resolve the issue then resetting the printer as described in the post here may help.  If this does not resolve the issue then read the entire thread here and try requesting reset instructions.

    Hi,
    From the application used to print open the print dialog.
    Click Properties / Preferences / Settings to access the Printing Preferences dialog.
    Click the Advanced button.
    Under Printing Features set the Print in Grayscale value as Black Ink Only.

  • Photosmart D5360 Not Printing

     Below is a copy and past of a previous post.  Forgive me for posting the same question twice.  I didn't know if yesterday's post would be eligible for today's expert advice forum.  Here is a small update.  I am on my way out to get a new printer cartridge, although I doubt if that is the solution.  I really need this printer to work in order to print resumes for my job hunt.  If I don't have any luck with the forum, I guess I will have to spend $37 for phone support.  I can't really afford it right now, so I've got my fingers crossed and will check back later.
    Printer: Photosmart D5360
    Model Q8361A
    Problem:  This happened after I tried to reinstall the printer after not using it for several months.  The printer behaves like it is going to print, it says it is printing, but nothing happens.  It will print a test page, but not a diagnostic page.  It will not print a pdf or anything from MS Word, or Wordpad. 
    My computer is a Dell Studio 1536 laptop with Vista Home Premium.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled 7 times, so I am sure I am doing it correctly and not connecting the USB too soon.  I tried it with another USB from another printer.  So I don’t think the cable is defective.
    There is no flashing warning message on the front of the printer.  No cartridge obstruction, no paper jam.
    I have run the diagnostic utility, it detects no problem.
    It is selected as the default printer, USB001 virtual printer port for USB. 
    When I try to print a test page from the Properties dialogue box, it doesn’t work.
    Note:  I doubt if this is relevant, but I should mention, the black ink is empty, although the cartridge is still in.   I didn’t want to buy another cartridge until I find out if the printer can be fixed. 

    Thanks for trying to help with this Wixma.  Here are the results. 
    I took out the black cartridge and attempted to print a word doc.  First the solution center came up and told me the printer was offline.  I plugged the USB into another port and it told me the cartridge was not available.  Then it proceeded as if to print, but didn’t.  The Windows Driver Software Installation popped up and told me it was installing drivers (I don’t know why because they are already installed).  Then it tells me it is ready to use.  Meanwhile, the printer status says it is printing, but it isn’t.  I cancelled the print job, and installed a new black HP #74 cartridge.  The printer prompted me to align.  I pressed “okay”.  When the printer is ready, I attempt to print the doc again, but with the same results.  I doubt if the color cartridge is clogged, because I was able to print test pages when I installed it.
