PI 7.1, ECC 6.0 EP3, CE 7.1, and ES Bundles. SR question

Hi everyone,
We have a ECC 6.0 Enhancement Pack 3, PI 7.1 (using the ESR and SR here), and CE 7.1 sandbox enviroment.
I'm having difficulty getting the Enterprise Services available as part of Enhancement Pack 1, 2, and 3 to show up in the Service Registry.
We are following the guide "CE, ESR, AND DISCOVERY SYSTEM BUILDING AN END-TO-END ENTERPRISE SOA SCENARIO", https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/108ef7ba-8abd-2a10-f787-d5f29c5f1b88
All of the references to CE we have been replacing with PI since we want to use the SR that came with PI instead of CE.
We can get all the way up to step 6 in section 3.3 where it tells us to use LPCONFIG to create a logical port pointing to the Service Registry. We we run this tcode we get a message telling us to go to SOAMANAGER to perform the operation however I cant seem to find any documentation telling how to do this. I also dont understand why this step is needed.
Fundamentally, I do understand that ECC 6.0 is the provider for all of the Enterprise Webservices and that we need to perform configuration there to tell it how to publish those services to the SR so that they may be available to the consumer applications.
Also, if we are planning to use PI as a ESB, does this change any of how we might configure things?

I enconter the while installing ECC 6.0 in windows 2003 server and MSSQL 2005 as the database. The error occurs during import ABAP phase ( exactly the Job name was SAPSDIC and this is the first job out of 19)
The same issue has been discussed in this forum but for oracle( Please find the link below for it)Kindly let me know how to fix it and since the database i am using it is SQL 2005 i am really confused on what should i change exactly.

Compatibility between ECC 6.0 EHP4/NW 7.01 and Netweaver Portal 7.0 SP17

Hi,
Our system landscape consists of ECC 6.0 EHP4/NW 7.01 and Netweaver Portal 7.0 SP 14. We are thinking of upgrading our portal to SP 17. Will it lead to any compatbility issues with our ecc system? are there any dependencies?

Hi,
The easiest way to know what SAP NetWeaver SPs aligns with SAP ERP/ECC SP stack or any other app's SP stack is the following:
- logon on to http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks
- click on the appropiate app's SP stack . SAP ERP 6.0 (SAP ERP 2005) your case as it also covers EhPs too.
- In the resulting screen, select the ECC SP level you have (or want) and NW components you have
- The resulting list will indicate what the NW patches you need to be in synch.

hi, can sap ecc 6.0 be installed on a completely free OS and db. it seems like the only supported versions of linux are suse and redhat, which both cost money.
could it be installed, but just not supported on something like ubuntu?
this is for a sandbox only type system, w/trial versions of sap, so no support from sap required.
for db, would sap maxdb be the way to go?

You can use CentOS, it's a "Redhat clone" and use the same sources as Redhat. Just the RedHat branding is removed but apart from that it's identical. I did a few (test) installations before and it works.

Technically it may be possible, however, SAP is an enterprise system and the costs for the OS compared to implementation costs are marginal.

Try CentOS.

Even if you need "no support" you have to license the database, no matter which one you use. MaxDB may be the "cheapest" alternative compared to all other databases.

Compatibility of ECC 5.0 to BI 7.0 and replication issues

Hi BW Gurus,
Implementing BW project in the BI 7.0 and the source system is ECC 5.0. We need to extract data from ECC 5.0 to BI 7.0.
Is it supports good compatabiility with ECC 5.0 to BI 7.0?
During extraction can we replicate the R3 datasources as the 7.0 data sources or we dont have the option of 7.0?
or still we have to use the 3.x functionality for R3 datasources

when you replicate the datasource it will ask for the option while replicating whether you want 3.x or new and u can select he desired one u need.

What are the functionalities provided by SAP ECC 6.0 (Logistics Execution) for inward and outward transportation?

The Transportation Module provides a very detailed functionality to capture & control the transportation both inward and outward. However there is a set of transaction codes in SAP ECC 6.0 which may provide some functionality on transportation.
Can Logistics Execution provide some basic control in the absence of Transportation Module? Also what are the advantages Transportation Management module provides over Logistics Execution in SAP ECC 6.0?

For ESS and MSS you do not require special data from the backend side, If a person has master data maintained in PA30, He can see his personal details in ESS, For that employee should maintain the Portal user id in Infotype 0105 , subtyp0001.
With that userid he can able to enter the portal and maintain his details. Same is the case for MSS , Manager should have maintained 0105 subtype 0001. and he can see the details of his employees in MSS application.
For ESS you need to have Portal
SAP_ESS
PCUI_GP
BP for ESS

We have ECC 6.0 SPS 03 and SRM 5.0 System with the dual stack. We are planning to upgrade ECC 6.0 only to EHP4 SPS08. Will it lead to any compatbility issues with SRM 5.0? are there any dependencies? I
have checked the Upgrade dependency tool and it did not find any dependency. I am not able to find out any note which explain impact of upgrading ECC to EHP with SRM. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
I don't see any problem in having SRM 5.0 with ERP 6.0 EHP4/NW 7.01. You can have a look at SAP note 963000 which shows that SRM 5.0 is released with this release also. So, I think SRM 5.0 is fine with EHP4.

Will it lead to any compatbility issues with other netweaver system? are there any dependencies? Do we also need to upgrade our BI, GTS and Portal system ?

Thanks Sunny for the info. I checked with upgrade dependency tool and it did not find any dependency.
However, according to note 1297231, SAP NW 7.0 should be at SP 22 to be compatible with EHP
6.0 EHP 4 SP08. Note 1165438 references 'hub' and 'sidecar' systems. In this case, do we need to update our "hub" and "sidecar" (BI, Portal, xRPM) systems to be at Netweaver 7.0 SP22 so that "thereby both
applications are synchronous?" The notes are not clear.
Do we need to patch our Portal, BI, and xRPM (currently at NW7.0 SP17) systems to NW7.0 SP22 as per the above notes?"

BW will not be upgraded! Current version of BW is 3.5.
I have to analyse which problems could occur after R/3 has been upgraded.
I already found the notes:

There are some questions which remain unanswered after reading the notes:
1. Plugin (software component PI 2004_1_46C)
Note 700779:
Software component PI no longer exists on ECC 600. The PI functions are completely integrated into the ECC 600 main components SAP_APPL 600 and SAP_HR 600.
Does this influence the software components in BW?
Do the software components in BW need upgrading because of the integration of PI in ECC 600 to SAP_APPL and SAP_HR?
Is there any documentation which clarifies this?
2. ALE Remote Connection
I have read Re: R/3 Upgrade , which suggests that when you not change the logical names, IDOC types definitions, EDI partner profiles etc. then it should not be a problem to connect BW to R/3 after the upgrade.
Is there any official documentation which can verify the above statement, or documentation which gives more information about the ALE remote connection??
3. LIS delta queue
According to note 505700 I need to change the update mode Serialized V3 update to e.g. queued delta before we are going to upgrade.
When we are going to upgrade, all delta queues should be emptied (transaction RSA7 and SMQ1). Are there any how to guides for emptying delta queus??

I went through an upgrade like this so what I can tell you is based on personal practical experience.
1. BW was not affected because of this integration. Unless you need or want to any new functionality related to it, you don't need to do anything in the BW side.
2. As you read in the link, as far as you don't change any of those settings, you're good to go.
3. Emptying the Delta queue means stoping the update jobs (V3, for example) and executing the Deltas in BW until there are 0 records on them. Normally it takes a couple of loads in BW to make them "0" in R/3.
The update mode doesn't affect the Delta Queues or the extraction to BW. It's just the way new or changes records are allocated in the queues. Only a change in the structure of your Datasource would impact your Delta queue and extractions.
As I said, we went through this process and it was very smooth, no surprises or impacts in BW.

IPC/VC: Knowledgebase/KB of ECC is not shown in CRM

we would like to use the Variant Configuration in CRM.
Today we are using already the IPC in a standalone environment with an external system (IPC 5.0, the external system is using the IPC in the Java environment of ERP). From the same ECC System we would like to download now the knowledge bases to reuse them in CRM 7.0. All knowledge bases and runtime environments are already available. When I download the object SCE (with certain filters), I can see all those entries in table COMM_CFGKB in CRM.
Anyhow, when checking the material in CRM (e.g. commpr01 or WebUI), no knowledge base is shown!
The table COMM_CFGKB has exactly the same entries as ECC (Active = T, KB Usage 10, KBOBJNAME and Version filled etc.), but anyhow it is not shown at all in CRM. As these knowledge bases are very huge, I have tested also a very small and easy one. This one is getting downloaded the same way and has the same entries in table COMM_CFGKB and it is also visible in commpr01.
So my assumption is that the other KBs are not 100% correct. When checking them in ECC (cu36) I get many warnings and errors. Anyhow, they were downloaded to CRM (but won`t be shown). Business says that these warnings/errors are OK and that the external system which uses the IPC in ECC is not having any problems.
Question: is there any chance of using a KB in CRM which has warning/errors when it was generated in ECC?
Is there any chance of manipulating the KB before it gets imported into CRM. I have found Note 1044682 which explains a BADI.
Which tables/fields do we have to manipulate so we are able to use the KB in CRM.
As mentioned: business is aware of those errors and excepts that there might be a crash in the IPC for certain combinations.

OK, I think I understand your suggestion: you use the same IPC with your CRM as well as with the ECC system. So in CRM you just maintain the URL and a user in XCM to the "same" IPC. You mentioned that we need to download anyway the SCE. This is somehow logical as this is the base connected to CRM, but what is not clear to me is the fact, that if the SCE KB is used via ECC all SAP R/3 fields are available (like VBTYPE of the sales order where you have values like B or C). In CRM we use the same SCE KB but here these fields are not availble as the sales order transaction customizing in CRM does not contain such a field. Where is the logical link between the values which are available in IPC and the SCE?

SRM PR,PO is not getting created in ECC backend

i create SC in classic scenario. and after the manager approve the SC the follow on Doc didnt create in ECC
i define object for po pr and reserve in backend
when i check FM :BBP_PD_SC_CHECK i havent any error message
but when i have chek the SC in RZ20 i have this error: Local Error: Shopping cart 0010000308: Error creating the follow-on document
and when i chek BBP_PD i have this status:

Dear Elham,
To find the solution of the problem I think you need to debug.
Follow below steps if this help you
a) Run the report "FBGENDAT"
b) Input the data as below screen shot
c) Then go to se37 execute FM : BAPI_PO_CREATE1
d) You will find the test data directory and test data will be saved as below
e) In this test date change PO number you should get the error which you are getting above.

User status transfer for sales orders from ECC to CRM

Users can change user status in the sales orders in ERP.
How we can replicate custom user status from ECC Sales Order to CRM Sales Order?
What is the steps to do this for CRM 7.0?

Hi,
We are creating quotation ZPQT in CRM which is then get replicated to ECC on saving it on “Accepted” status. In ECC we then create sales order of type ZPOR. Sales order gets replicated in CRM and also updates document flow. This sales order is called as “Project Sales Order”. PS team assigns WBS element to this order and does billing later on. Upon billing document is created sales order status in ECC changes to “Completed”. This is system status. But the issue is status of order ZPOR is CRM remains in status “Inprocess”. We want it to change to “Completed”.
We have similar scenario with order type ZOR. In this order after delivery and billing ECC assigns status “Completed” to sale order and same gets replicated to CRM.
In CRM for user status Completed we have assigned system status as FINI. Both ZPOR and ZOR has same status profile assigned at header and item level.
Our concern is if status is changing back in CRM for ZOR then why not for ZPOR. What is stopping system to do so?

CJ20N is not working in SAP ECC 6.0

In my SAP ECC 6.0 I log in SPANISH and launch tcode: CJ2ON - Project Builder and it transaction code does not work my session hangs and the message in the status bar is:

SWUF is workflow runtime system administration? Seems it disappeared in 4.6 or 4.7.
Try SWDC_RUNTIME and SWDC_DEFINITION - not sure if they are in ECC6.
Let us know if this is the solution.

ISR NATIVE CONTROLS ERP -2005 is not working in ECC 6.0, MSS 1.0 Version

Hi,
Does anybody knows, why the ISR Controls for ERP 2005 is not working properly. We utilized the DropDown List Controls, we binded to the correct field in the FORM. We have filled the ADDITIONAL_DATA table, on the SET_ADDITIONAL_VALUES method also, to populate .
The DropDown values are not populating in runtime.
We are running ECC 6 Version, Basis is on SP12, and Application Platform is on SP09. We have MSS 1.0 for SP 10.
What might be the problem, what do you feel about procedure in ISR Controls binding?
INFO: It doesn't have that SAP-VHLIST , illusion here.
Please guide me , as I am strucked from all ways, any note, patch to apply, any config issue.

In case of DDLB, apart from the binding, there's something else needs to be done.
Goto binding tab : incase adobe life cycle designer 7.1, a link "Specify item values" is highlighted.

This should resolve ths issue.
