PI 7.1 enterprise services: How to find & invoke SAP HCM enterprise Service

Hi all,
in PI 7.1, i read, there is support of enterprice services.
is my current understandings right about PI 7.1 and enterprise services:
1.the standard BAPIs, standard RFC that were provided in R/3 are replaced by standard enterprise services in SAP ECC.
2.a nonSAP application can invoke an enterprise service in the same way as a nonSAP application used to call an RFC in the R/3.
I want to view how an enterprise service of any SAP module can be called by a nonSAP applicaiton.
are there any doc or blog which shows this.
is possible with/wihout PI.
We have follwoing things installed.
1. PI 7.1 SP4.
2. SAP ECC 6.0, i am dealing with SAP HCM module.
are there any enterprise services of HCM available (e.g standard enterprise services given by SAP for HCM module).
basically i want to test whether a nonSAP application like a java application, can it get some info using standard HCM enterprise services provided by SAP.
I explored esWorkplace (http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace), but it does not display HCM related process components under the column "DISCOVER ENTERPRISE SERVICES".

How to find BADI for the enterprise service?

Hi Experts,
We are enhancing an enterprise service for Businesspartner creation by adding an additional field in the structure. But we are not able to find out the correct BADI for the enterprise service. We are using the following enterprise service - 'BusinessPartnerERPCreateRequestConfirmation_In' . I could not find any BADI in ES workplace also .How to search for a BADI for this ES.
Any help on this will be well appreciated.

Hi Sanu.
Not all the services is an BAPI or BAPI, maybe this is an interface.
To see the related object go to esworkplace and find the service.
You will find in the page the label "Related Web Service Definition".
Copy the related value(in your case ECC_BusinessPartnerCrtRC) it and go to SAP GUI. In transaction SE84, go to enterprise service and choice service definition.
Paste the value copied in esworkplace in field Service Definition, then F8.
In the next screen double click in the returned value.
In the next screen you will see a Reference Object field. Double click in the value and you will see the related object.
In this case is an interface. You can see in Provider Class.

How to find Working Time approval Enterprise services in ECC 6.0 EHP #3

Hi All,
We are on ECC 6.0 EHP #3. We have activated the EA-HR & EA-TRV ENTERPRISE_EXTENSIONS & related business functions in transaction sfw5. How and where do I look for Working Time entry and approval enterprise services in ECC. I tried to find through SOAMANAGER and SE80-Enterprise services browser but could not find them.
Do we need to activate anything else or am I not looking at the right place?

Hi,
Enterprise Services are delivered by SAP with Enhancement Packs (Ehp). So number of services you can see depend on your Ehp and activation of business function while installing Ehp.
You can see ES in transaction SICF (to activate) and you can search services in transaction SE80->Repository Information System ->Enterprise service (search).

How to find in Metro tube which service sent request to another service

I have following question regarding use of Metro tubes:
In SOA system composed of number of Web Services deployed on multiple GlassFish servers (with Metro container); I have a tube library which is loaded on start of GlassFish and for each request message sent by any servlet or Web Service to another Web Service needs to detect address of the destination service (that is the easy bit) and which servlet or Web Service sent the request (here is the problem). This information is not contained in the packet. I would expect it should be possible to find it in the context object ClientTubelineAssemblyContext and getContainer(), however, so far I have not found out how.
Any help will be appreciated

Hello,
Do not open cluster administrator since SSRS cannot take advantage of Windows Clustering Services.
You need see if the Network Load Balancing manager (NLB) (windows feature) is installed on the SSRS computer and open
it to see if a NLB cluster has been configured.

I am taraka working as BA. I have theoretical knowledge on how web services work. I asked to test web services using SOAP UI.
I have a URL and soap message. But some time I am getting webservice names and not complete urls.
I would like to find out list of web services exposed at given url.
Is there any way to find it?

Usually you would get the webservice urls from the developers?
Some appservers can give you a list e.g on jboss you can check hostName:port/jbossws

Hi Mahesh,
here is where you can find the system information about your EP installation (i.e. O/S, DB, components release, etc):
1- Goto the Web AS Java URL (http://<host>:<port>)
2- Select "System Information" and log in as an administrator user
3- After logging in, the system information page displays the O/S, DB, application server level
4- Select "Software Components", select the link "all components" (upper right corner of the table) and then you should be able to see the version of your components/applications

for eg:

The SAP standard Form is F140_ACC_STAT_01.
I need to find the standard form given the variant as SAP13.

How to find out SAP J2EE Patch Level for 04s

Hi all
I want to find out SAP J2EE Patch Level for 2004s installation i tried to get information from SYSTEM INFORMATION link on WAS homepage but it gave only version :7.00 details and PATCH LEVEL was not mentioned .
I also tried to find out by looking into VERSION.TXT file for server & dispatcher in ....USR\SAP\J2E.....engine installation but again no details about PatchLevel was mentioned can anyone provide some information regarding what is the PatchLevel for WAS 7.0 , J2SE used is 1.4.2_09

I tried this on different 2004s server but the Patch Level is not mentioned whereas for 2004
servers it is mentioned
so can u give some inference based on above descriptions about What should be SAP J2EE Patch

Hi,
I feel certification is about complete remembering of the 4 books which SAP provides.
Some tips while answering the questions is try to answer those questions first which you are 80-100 % sure.
Then answer the rest questions.
Everyone told me if you give 3-5 contnous wromg answers and submit them you will not certify.
Thus be sure to give continous right answers by answering the once you are completely sure.
On the type of questions part :
1. Employee subgrou grouping personnel subarea grouping questions are a must, e.g To which of the below personnel subare grouping can be done a) Work schedule b)Basic pay etc
2. Holiday Calendar- Moving Holiday and non-moving holiday-Types of Holidays
3.On Basic pay Infotype- Payscale groups and levels fundamentals
4. Wagetype characteristics table, each field be sure
5. Indirect evaluation INVAL A, B.,C,D-PRZNT, SUMME
6.Features : ABKRS,NUMKR,- and remember all features in the book must be around 15
7. Work schedule generation steps
8. Time Evaluation Types- In IT 0007 you have the types
9. Positive time - which of the below are true for positive time
10.Negative time - same question
11. Payroll area ; 1 scenario with different dates and frequency, suggest how many payrolll areas.( Draw diagram in a paper like circles and suggest how many)
12.Solution Manager: Try to get 100 % in this area. This is very small section in the book.
13. Personnel actions definition
14. Definition of all components of Personnel structure and Enterprise structure
15. Definition of schema
Basically all topics in the book 1 question.
Remeber in certficatin ther are no queries on the table Names like t512d in general. All they ask is concepts and fundamentals.
For this remebering the book is very important.

We can find the collation settings for Analysis services in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Connect to the SSAS instance from within SSMS->Right click on the instance and select Properties->An Analysis Server properties page will appear. And then
on the left hand side is a Language /collation option.

OBIEE 11G Web Services - How to find Catalog Object Type

Hi All,
I am trying to access the Web Catalog objects available in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 through the Web Services API. I am able to read object names in "/shared" folders using the getSubItems() web service. My objective is as follows
1. Categorize catalog objects based on their type (Analysis, Agent, Action, Condition, etc...)
2. If possible, read the presentation column information that each object is using
The ItemInfoType structure only provides for types - Folders, Link, Missing, Object, etc... and does not help me in identifying the actual catalog object type. Any help on this regard is appreciated.

How to find which SAP R3 table are read during SAP R3 extractor execution ?

Hi Colleagues,
I would like to know which sap r3 table are read during the execution of a sap r3 extractor ?
1. I execute 2lis_03_bf extractor
2- I select debug mode
3. I put a break-point statement at abap command : select
I just see the program going to technical table, mara table and user exit from.
I am sure that this extractor read also MBEW table but I did not found it during the execution of the debug mode.
Can someone help me ? What should I do to see from which table the extractor 2lis_03_bf extractor is retrieving data ?

You maynot directly hit the source table when you debug a LO Extractor, as you should be aware that the data
is read as below in case of a LO datasources ,
INIT or FULL load --> from Setup tables
Delta --> from the delta queue
Also finding the Source table fora LO extractor is simple as you check the EC pool and understand that , check the
below blog for more details

But you can try with any other BI content extractor, for examle if you take a 0FI_AP_4
you find the table BSIK and BSAK are being read using FM
