PI7.1 release

Hi Experts,
Could you please tell me, when we can get the PI7.1 in the market?
What is the procedure to get the Ramp up release?
Regards

It would take another 6 months before it could be available in the market. The ramp up however should be available now as per the plan.
This might be of ur interest

  • Ways to implement versioning in XI

    Hi Experts,
Could you please tell me, what all possible ways of versioning we can do in XI?
Scenario : Webservice or any other scenario.
    Release1:
Client1 can access the service1. It works fine. There is no issue with the first release.
    Release2 :
    1. Client1 wants to access the latest service2. It will fail here, because client1 has the old wsdl file. In this case, we should provide the facility to access the old service(service1) for the old client(client1)
    2. Client2 can access the latest service (service2).
I came to know that versioning is possible in PI7.1 release, but just would like to know how we can do the current versioning. What all workaround we can have for this versioning?
    Regards

  • Proxy messgs on ECC in scheduled status - released for processing (PI 7.1)

    Hi guys,
I have set up a scenario (ABAP Proxy(ECC)->(using WS adapter)PI7.1->SOAP) and the outbound messages on the ECC remain in the scheduled status (green flag) saying "Released for processing (WS)". Why? Must there be some processing be executed? Manual? Or job?
Any help on this appreciated, Olian

    Hi Olian
Try applying the solution in the SAP note #1129614 SP2: WSRM sequences process only the first 3 messages.

  • MDM Adapter supporting PI 7.0 released with MDM 7.1

    Hi,
I have imported the MDM adapter which supports PI 7.0 and is released with MDM7.1 to facilitate Syndication/Import of data from/to MDM and configured the sender channel in PI for the same to fetch the file from the outbound port of MDM server.
I observe that when file is syndicated to outbound port and is ready for PI processing, the adapter do not instantly fetch the file from outbound port even for hours but when i make a dummy change in Communication channel and again activate the same then it fetches the file and processes it in PI but after that if any other file is syndicated in the outbound port i have to again manually make a dummy change and activate it in PI and so on.
I found one Sap Note 1452509 which is relevant to this but want to know if the settings mentioned in SAP note are to be made on MDM server or PI and if there is any other setting which i have to make in channel or in MDM so that file is processed instantly/near real time manner.
    I am on PI7.0
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Hey Amit,
If you are talking about "Restart the MDM ADAPTER java component" then it will be done on PI server. MDM system does not have any java component.
This is a common error which we also faced, it happens often right after the restart of MDM server.
I have seen cases where when MDM server was restarted, we had to come to PI and restart the MDM Adapter services to make Sender MDM Adapter pick files from Ready folder.
    >>if there is any other setting which i have to make in channel or in MDM
    No other settings are required
    Thanks

  • Upgrading from XI/PI7.0 to 7.1 having problems with message mapping

    Hello,
We are in the process over the past week of testing our XI/PI functionality after upgrading our 7.0 XI/PI environment to PI7.1; in particular several maps that were accessible in 7.0 will not open or diaplay in 7.1 complaining of a missing node in the mapping structure. Currently working with SAP on a possible fix but wanted to know if anyone else has done a true migration on top of an existing XI/PI7.0 system and experiencing similar issues (note: the maps can execute in the runtime environment but we can't display the maps source within message mapping; this also does not occur for all maps and there is no clear consistant theme to those that can be displayed and those that can't).
The lattest issue just encountered related to message mapping is that in test mode of a map (that can be displayed) attempting to display the data queue for the mapped elements are blank no data being displayed giving an error noting that the source text of object message mapping: name of the map; has syntax errors, java area import line x, package ibm.com.xi.mapping does not exist/ import ibm.com.xi.mapping UDF:
Has anyone upgraded from PI7.0 to 7.1 and experienced errors with existing maps that worked ok (ans still work in our QX/PRD systems) in their 7.0 envirinment but encountereing strange errors once upgrated to 7.1?
    Thanks
    Dereck Purnell
    NewellRubbermaid

Here is the solution we received from SAP to address the issue, there were several mapping related issues we started havng from maps that worked in our 7.0 system prior to the upgrade to PI 7.1. I will try to encorporate the solutions in this response.
    a) From Customer to SAP
    1. We are unable to open some massage mapping, it is throwing
    exception
    2. Number Format functions throw exception.
But following issue is still unresolved:
    3. When we display message queue, it throws exception
    ***) 05.02.2009 - 12:34:33 CET - Reply by SAP
The patch has been released at the Service Marketplace.
Please update the scas described in the note 1264871.
The "FormatNum" function issue has also been taken care in this patch.
Please go through the Note 1264871 for other behaviour changes after
upgrade. Let us know if you need any further help.
    Regards,
    B) From Customer to SAP
    04.02.2009 - 00:23:44 CET - Info for SAP
We discovered another issue with mapping.
For some of the mappings, we are unable to display mapping queue. When
we execute, Interface mapping and Massage mapping, it works fine. But
display queue throws exception. Itu2019s not able to recognize libraries
    used from dependent software component.
Please find document "Display Mapping Queue Issue" providing example
    problem.
    25.02.2009 - 07:05:28 CET - *Reply by SAP*
Thank you for your update. I wanted to check with "CopyValue"
function's index. It has to take an input integer and the problem that
found while debugging the opening of your mapping is that the input
was empty thus causing the exception.
I was going to suggest the intended use of "CopyValue" function.
When the input to "copyValue" is a constant, "copyValue" is totally
not necessary. Thus constant can be directly mapped to other function.
When the input is a node with values in context, you can treat one of
values say input[0] to used in mapping by using CopyValue[0].
But please make sure that input[0] will always produce a value.
Note 877964 will describe in detail on Copyvalue usage.
I am marking this Message as complete. Please confirm.

  • Diffence between XI 3.0 and PI7.0

    Hi
I am having one dought. what are defferences between XI 3.0 and PI 7.0 at Mapping and in IR and ID.

    Hi,
1.All new features for XI 7.0 are almost same as for XI 3.0 at least till SPS 19.
    Some differences are as follows:
    • Adapter Enhancements like JMS, JDBC, Oracle-JDBC and CIDX Enhancements
    • New Conversion Agent,
    • Receiver Determination Enhancements
    • Multi mapping
    • User defined enhancements
    • Unbounded Processes (Integration Processes).
    2. One more difference is the ABAP stack (which is 7.0 and not 6.40) but from the developer point of view there is nothing new.
    3. PI 7.0 = XI 7.0
    4. For each SP in XI3.0 there is a corresponding SP being released for PI (XI 7.0). A comparison of the service packs in 2004 and 2004s:
    In 2004 - In 2004s
    SP12 & lower = SP04
    SP13 + 14 = SP05
    SP15 = SP06
    SP16 = SP07
    SP17 = SP08
    SP18 = SP09
    5. XI3.0 is based on WAS(web application server)6.40 - NW2004
    PI7.0 is based on WAS(web application server)7.0 - NW2004's
There is not much difference between XI 3.0 with latest Service Pack i.e. 20 or 21 and PI 7.0
The main difference between 3.0 and 7.0 is the GUI in SLD. But, it is pretty easy to adopt. All other components, e.g. IR, ID, RWB, should virtually be identical.
7.0 also contain some SCM contents not available from 3.0. For most of us, this is a non-issue.
In 7.0 we can schedule a background job and edit the payload.
    XI3.0 is based on WAS(web application server)6.40 - NW2004
    PI7.0 is based on WAS(web application server)7.0 - NW2004's
Currently SP 21 for XI 3.0 and SP12 for PI 7.0 is the latest one.

  • Java proxy in PI7.1.....

    Hi All,
I am having a requirement where i have to develop JAVA proxy in PI 7.1 and for this I am using NWDS 7.1 but the main concern is that i am very new to JAVA proxies. Even though i refer SDN but the blogs and forums mentioned are related to XI3.0/PI7.0.
I would be very pleased if anybody clear some of my doubts:
    1) Do we require WAS in order to install J2ee based non central adapter engine? If yes how to install it.
    2) How to configure client and server proxies in PI 7.1 using NWDS 7.1?
    3) How to deploy and test java proxies?
    Thanks In Advance.

    Hi,
You can install the Java proxy runtime on the SAP J2EE Engine Release 6.40 SP5 or higher.
The messaging system that the Java proxy runtime uses to send messages to the Integration Server must also be installed on the J2EE server.
To send messages from a J2EE application, the application must be programmed against beans that encapsulate all details about the Java runtime. The following classes are generated:
u2022 Proxy classes that send or receive messages using the Java proxy runtime.
u2022 Bean classes as an outer shell that conform to the J2EE standard. The beans call the proxy classes for communication.
The classes must be deployed on the J2EE server together with their J2EE application
see this link for the example scenario https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f272165e-0401-0010-b4a1-e7eb8903501d

  • SP 13 and SP15 for PI7.0

    Hello everybody
With respect to PI7.0,What does a service pack mean? What does it mean when they say that the  service pack has changed from SP13 to SP15? And what does a patch level mean..
    Thanks in advance
    Ramya

    Hi Ramya,
Service Pack is nothing but an executable file which has some entended functionality for the system. Suppose the current XI software has some performace issue then SAP will develop some code to enhance the existing feature which will be termed as Service Pack.
Time to time SAP keep enhancing the functionality of XI and for that they release various versions of software patches known as service packs.
    Regards,
    Subhash
