Picture thumbnails

I just re-installed my Tiger OS and everything went smooth. One little hitch though was that when I plug my card in from my cameras I only see icons instead of thumbnails of the images. Before the re-intall, I could plug a few cards into a couple of readers and I would see thumbnails of the images which then I could direct to proper directories on the hard drive. Just a small issue but in the big scheme of things this will save a ton of time.
The details: The files are raw images from two canon cameras. The software for the cameras has been installed and if you drag one of the files to the preview it does show the picture. I think the system know what it is however I need the thumbnails.
Thanks...Steven

open the window where the pictures on the camera are located.
Make sure the window is in thumbnail (not list or column) view.
Click View>Show View Options, and select All Windows at the top, then Show Icon Preview.
Good luck!

For sideloaded content the nook pulls the metadata from ePub file itself.  I would suggest looking at a program like Sigil or Calibre that will let you edit the metadata in the book to make it appear like you want.
For the PDF vs ePub - No, that's the way PDFs work (think of them as graphics, not text), wheres ePubs are Web Pages - so  no you can't them to behave exactly alike without converting the files.

  • Picture Thumbnails showing as hourglass Icon

I've been using Elements 7 with great satification for several years now, but recently, the picture thumbnails started to show up as an hourglass icon. I updated to Elements 11 and still had the same problem. I followed some direction I found online for eliminating the catague cache, and it fixed the problem in 11, but not in 7. Till I learn to use 11, I would like to continue to use 7, so how do I fix this problem in Elements 7?

Thanks for the help guys. For anyone else who comes along who is dealing with this in PSE7. Open the organizer. Under files, click on Cataloge. In the new window that appears, in the top right corner, click new. In the new window that appears, create a name for your new Cataloge. Pictures imported into the new catalogue should appear normally. I never did find the cache, but after creating a new cataloge, I just dumped the old one, becasue I don't save anything on photoshop itself.

when i open .jpg picture in photoshop on MAC the the background thumbnail in the layers panel looks like a white box with the brush inside instead of picture thumbnail. how to fix it?

Very easy. That means you have a "no layer thumbnails" option selected.
Go into the Layers Panel menu at the upper right of the Panel, choose Panel Options and you will see Thumbnail sizes to choose from.
    Select one, click OK.

  • How do I get my lightroom pictures (thumbnails, grid and loupe) back?

I have lightroom 4.2 and have been using it for about two months on a Windows 7 64 bit system. Last Friday ALL pictures - the thumbnails, and the pictures in the grid and the loupe views disappeared and were replaced by grey rectangles. See screen shot:
I have tried using backup catalogs and other possible fixes but nothing has worked. Today I uninstalled Lightroom, moved the remaining Lightroom files - catalog, backups, etc. - and reinstalled Lightroom. I then created a new catalog. But once again all I get are grey rectangles rather than previews. As can be seen, the catalog contains the information about the photos. I just can't see them. And that is pretty crucial in a photo editing program!
I'm stumped and need some help, please.

Many thanks to jim01403. I had managed to have the the pictures
reappear after doing many things including making some changes to the monitor's settings. Until I read the post from jim01403, I did not know how I had retieved those pictures. Now I believe that resetting the monitor profile is what corrected my problem. I've saved the location of the instructions for resetting the monior profile to an sRGB standard.
    Again, many thanks.

  • Server 2008 Picture Thumbnails in Explorer!??

How can I turn on the preview/thumbnails when viewing pictures in explorer.  This is driving me crazy....

    Jeffrey,
If you go to the folder in question and follow these steps do you get your thumbnails:
    1) Select Organize --> Folder and Search Options --> View --> Advanced Settings: Uncheck Always show icons, never thumbnails.
    2) Change the view to Tiles, Medium Icons, Large Icons or Extra Large Icons.
You should now see thumbnails.  By default thumbnails are disabled in Server and this setting allows you to get a client type experience.
    Thanks,

  • IPhoto 6.0.6 update picture thumbnails

I had my camera hooked up to my Mac. When I opened up iPhoto for the second time, I had to update the thumbnails. The camera had a few pictures on it and iPhoto made thumbnails for those pictures. But not for the pictures from our last few years. The pictures are there, but no thumbnails. How can I make thumbnails for these pictures?

Would it help if I deleted iPhoto 6.0.6 from my Mac, and put iPhoto 6.0.5 and see if I can look at my pictures?
    No.
The issue is not with the iPhoto application but with your Library. Changing the application will not change the Library.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Picture thumbnails rotate wrong way after adding rating

    Hello,
I have this weird "error" in Bridge CS3 (latest version)> It doesnot happen all the time, but now and then...
Totday I imported a couple of raw pictures from my Nikon D200. All the pictures where in portrait mode and appeared correctly in Bridge. When I browsed through them and occasionally added a rating tot them (By clicking on the stars under the thumbnail) the rating was shown and at the same time that picture rotated to landscape mode, which is the wrong mode, as it should stay in portrait for these particular pictures. Also the _DSC0126 moved from its "correct" location between numbers 125 and 127 to a completely different place between _DSC0040 and _DSC0041... The sorting was set to "Date picture taken" and in this case all pictures are taken in sequence, so this picture should not be moved.
Strange things alltogether and very annoying when trying to chose a few good shots from a big shoot. So I hope anyone knows what's ging on here and has an answer to it...
    Thanks for any help!
    Michael

Wow I think you're right. If thats the case I need to manually set the angle for each cut.
Seems like a counter-intuitive way to handle multicam. It'd be nice to go back in and refine through the multicamera window. Or switch cuts out like final Cut used to do.
I just dont see the logic in sitting through a 40 minute raw footage interview cutting camera angles and THEN editing it.
    Thanks,
    Ian

  • How do I create a picture thumbnail?

    Hi,
I'm developing a LabView program to display a series of face pictures on a projector and record peoples reactions to them eg, man or woman, young or old, happy or sad etc and their reaction times for a psychology experiment.
During the experiment the pictures are displayed in a sub vi's front panel and I've sized the picture box to 450x450.
The pictures to be displayed have to be prepared in Photoshop by cropping them square and then setting the image size to 450x450.
Elsewhere in the program I would like to be able to show a much small thumbnail preview of the pictures, say 100x100. I don't want to display just a small section of the image, I want to show the whole image but some how reduce it to fit in a 100x100 box. Any ideas how I can do this?
The file format of the pictures is jpeg and I would preferably like to stick with this format but could change if need be.
    Thanks,
    Dave.

    Dave,
The simplest thing to do would be to make use of the Zoom capability of the Picture Control (introduced sometime in the last couple of versions, I think).
If you create a Property Node for the picture box of interest, you will see a property called ZoomFactor near the bottom of the list. Just use the appropriate scaling factor (0.222 for your 450->100 example), and you should get a reasonable-looking thumbnail. A significant advantage of this approach is that you don't have to manage multiple scaled versions of the same image, and you can also vary your thumbnail size at run-time without having to do any extra work.
This method could possibly become intractable for memory-related reasons if you want to display a large number of scaled thumbnails of very large images; I'm not sure if LabVIEW does any optimization under the hood when it scales a picture.

    John
That sounds ideal, I'll try it.

  • How can I put picture thumbnails on a page

Is there a way to put thumbnails on a blog or other page with text where the reader can click to enlarge?

    richardlw wrote:

Richard ~ iWeb's blog is not very reliable — so I would recommended you avoid putting clickable thumbnails there. But for other template pages (except the Photos page), this old thread has some suggestions:

  • Nokia n95 and auto picture thumbnails ?

is there any way to stop phone to make those _PAlbTN dirs with tons of files ?
every time i transfer pictures to memory card, phone eating cpu and mem,
i cant use usb storage mode, and card's free space dropping down ....
total waste of battery and space since i dont need them at all :-(
    n95 8Gb fw 15.0.015

i had the same problem, i use MGMaps and i have something like 13.000 files ... so i can imagine the problem and the waste of memory.
But this is how i solve it:
    First way:
    - From my linux i change the folder permission to ready only (chmod 444 )
    Second way:
    - Download Y-Browser
    - Go to the folder then OPTIONS->FILE->ATTRIBUTES
    - You will see an option READY ONLY then you set it to YES

  • Ovi Suite Pictures - Thumbnails Grayed Out

All of a sudden, Ovi Suite only shows my photos as "grayed out" icons rather than the thumbnail.
Not sure what has happened. Anyone see this? Better yet, anyone have a fix?
    Thanks!

    HAHAHAH LOL
I used the Installation repair (started from Windows 7 uninstall programs in the control panels,) and now the Album Art is gone as well as the thumbnails for my photos.
I am currently downloading the full installer. I'll uninstall and reinstall and see what happens.
p.s. - This problem is with Ovi 2.1.1.1, Windows 7 home (licensed), N97

  • Thumbnail view in picture folders???

I don't use iPhoto, because I have entirely way too many pictures, so therefore I store them all in folders on my external hard drive. When I open a folder, all I see is a bunch of J-PEG files and the only way to view them is to select all and open with preview. Is there any way to get a thumbnal view of these images?

This works for me. In Finder open the folder you wish to view. Click in the finder toolbar the icon view. Now you should see icons in the window. Right click anywhere in the window. Pick *Show View Options*. When the *View Options* window opens choose *show Icon Preview*. This should make all the picture thumbnails change to a picture thumbnail.

Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (<i>Site Identification</i> icon) on the left side of the location bar.<br \>
A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").<br \>
Open the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Page Info" window.<br \>
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.<br \>
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.<br \>
