Pictures Next to Songs on iPod

I would like to know how I can put my pictures so they are the small square next to the song title as my songs play??? Can anyone please help me??!! Just like in the pictues on the website of the iPod video...I has Gorillaz playing and to the left of that there is a smaller square with the picture in it.

Search images.google.com for the album name. Or the song name if you do not know the album name. Images of the album the song is on. Save the photo album art to your hard drive. Perhaps in a folder your desktop titled 'album art' so you can access it easily. Open iTunes, click on the song you want to relate the album cover to, File menu, Get info. Next time you transfer your music, you should see the album cover.
Let me know how it goes...

• Round icon next to song on ipod will not play

I recently purchased 2 new songs the Apple store that loaded to itunes fine. After sycing, the songs were on my ipod touch but with a round icon (with a small rectangle in the middle) to the right. The songs will not play, and when i attempt to play, the pop up on my ipod says, "Cannot play. Connect to a wifi network to play song". In addition, the new songs are duplicated on my ipond, but not in itunes. The songs play fine on itunes. I have tried deleting all music from my ipod, and re-syncing without a resolve. All the previous songs purchased and synced to my ipod are fine...only the two most recent songs have the issue. I haven't had any problems in the last few years until now. Anyone else have the same issue, and find a resolution? tks

It seems like something is wrong with those song files. They might be missing or corrupted.
Try restoring your iPod, and then putting the music and videos back on your iPod, assuming they are in your iTunes library...

I've just connected the ipod to my computer and checked the music on the iPod. The album that I am having trouble with shows an exclamation symbol next to it. I've tried deleting the album from iTunes and re downloading it then syncing but it doesn't appear to affect the information shown the iPod. The album neither deletes nor updates.

• Can't add songs to ipod touch...Please help?

Okay. I downloaded some new songs to my computer. I added them to my ipod without any problems. Then I went to add them to my sister's ipod. The first 5 songs went on just fine, but when I tried to add the next few songs, I said something along the lines of "Unable to sync, unknow error" and then a 4 or 5 digit number. It only said it once and the message doesn't pop up again when I try again so I have no idea what the numbers were.
Now whenever I drag songs to the ipod, the ipod is highlighted and the box with the plus sign shows, as if it is going to work. But when I release the song, nothing happens. It doesn't sync the song, there's no error message, nothing.
I'm really reluctant to do a restore or anything similar because our music is spread out over about three different computers, and several months ago I had a virus on my computer so some of my music isn't on ANY computer.
I've already tried restarting both the ipod and the computer, and I tried plugging the ipod in

- Reset the iPod. Nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Also reboot the computer.
- Then try again and remember the complete error message
Could this have been the error number:
iTunes: Error 13019 during sync

• Cannot update songs in iPod

Hi,
My problem is this one:
I bought an external hard drive (200 GB)
I downloaded the iTunes in that external (H) drive - from Apple's site - than I transferred the songs I had in the C drive, in the H drive.
I didn’t know that I should transfer the iTunes library too. Anyway, I deleted EVERYTHING in the C drive.
Than I realize that I don’t have playlists in the H drive. Luckily I didn’t plug the iPod, because I would lose the playlists I had in my iPod. It took me few hours to write down my 50 something playlists. + 5,000 songs.
I am aware that there are programs that can transfer the songs from iPod in computer, but I read their Websites and I was not convinced of their efficacity.
Than I plugged the iPod. As expected the playlists disappeared, and the iTunes told me that – because there is no space enough – I had a big folder with pictures - will store TEMPORARY (?) some of the songs in a special playlist called “office something” (I don’t remember) I said OK, but few minutes later I realize that I have all the songs in the new playlist created, were present in my library, so… I deleted that playlist. I didn’t know that playlist is in fact my NEW library – if I’m not wrong.
Perhaps Apple should tell me WHAT HAPPENS IF I DELETE THAT PLAYLIST.
As well as when I moved the songs from the C drive – Apple should also tell me that I HAVE TO MOVE THE LIBRARY TOO!!!!!. Or much better HE should move it AUTOMATICALLY, without asking!!!!!!!!
Anyway, to make the story short, when I tried to update the iPod, appeared the message:
“Songs on the iPod “offici” cannot be updated because all of the playlists for updating no longer exist”
BTW, when I tried to find songs I have in iTunes, using the “search” function [Start > Search > All files and folders > Look in all hard drives C, D, H] I simply couldn't find the songs.
What I have right now in the H drive is a folder called > Programs > I Tunes and in that iTunes folder I have:
1) iTunes Music Library – 3 MB (an XML document) I looked a little bit and I saw: “<key>Music Folder</key> <string>file://localhost/C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/user/My%20Documents/My%20Music/iT unes/iTunes%”
C drive ???
2) iTunes Library – 2.6 G, which a window says: iTunes Library.itl = Windows cannot open this file
3) iTunes 4 Music Library, which Windows says cannot open too
4) Previous iTunes Libraries, folder which contains:
- iTunes 4 Music Library and
- iTunes Library; both about 2 GB
5) iTunes Music – a list of songs – I couldn’t found there a song I recently downloaded from Apple.
6) iTunes Music which contains:
- CD Configuration which contains:
- iTunes Resources
- iTunesHelper. Resources
- about iTunes
- iTunes (APLICATION – 11.1 MB)
7) iPod which contains:
- bin
- iPod Updater (4 folders)
So, how can I update the iPod?
Also a little strange thing: Offici Properties tells me that I have 14.7 GB Used Space - I opened the iPod and there is NOTHING inside - and iTunes says 31.55 GB (?!) I have an iPod 40 GB.
So pls help!
Thanx in advance!
Daniel

Try using the key combination Shift-Delete when deleting from a song from a playlist, this will delete it from the library as well.

• Deleting songs on iPod-deleted library in iTunes instead

I was trying to update my husband's iPod, so he created a new playlist, and I was trying to delete all of the songs on his iPod before uploading the playlist (his iPod doesn't automatically sync with iTunes).
Well, a message came up asking if we wanted to delete these songs or just delete them on the iPod. We clicked to delete them from the iPod.
Instead, the songs on his iPod were not deleted, but my ENTIRE LIBRARY was deleted instead.
UGH. I have most of the songs backed up (and no iStore songs, just CDs), but still. YUCK.
Is this a bug? Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks,
Amy

Amy-- No, but something similar. I wanted to clear my harddrive and just keep the songs on the ipod. So I cleared the library. The next time I connected the ipod, it automatically "updated" by deleting all the songs on ipod.
My granddaughter told me to select the manual update option. I think that prevents the problem. But I am amazed that Apple doesn't have some large warning posted to prevent your type and my type of unintended deletion.

Authorize your new computer's iTunes first - Store>Authorize this computer.
1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

• How to put songs in ipod shuffle

how to put songs in ipod shuffle

This document describes the ways to put music on a shuffle (and also shows the four shuffle models)
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1719
If the shuffle is the current 4th gen (or 3rd gen), here is one convenient way to do it.
Create a new playlist in your iTunes library, and put all of the songs you want on the shuffle on that playlist. (Or you can use an existing playlist.) Back on the shuffle's Music screen in iTunes, check the checkbox forSync Music. Choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Below that, find that playlist under Playlists and select (checkmark) it. You can select other items on those lists if desired, including other playlists.
When you click Apply, the songs in your selection(s) sync to the shuffle. Going forward, to update the shuffle's songs, just update that playlist in your iTunes library (add/remove songs). The shuffle does not need to be connected. The next time you connect the shuffle (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes automatically updates the shuffle with the same changes.

Hi k_smith1298,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
First, be sure you've restarted and reset your iPhone:

If you are syncing music with an iTunes library, you may want to try setting up syncing in iTunes again by following the steps in the appropriate article below. If you're syncing music, try un-checking and then re-checking the "Sync music" checkbox in iTunes.

• Problem with Apple Lossless, skips some songs! Ipod Video 30 gig

I would love to play my music in higher quality then mp3 so i re ripped my albums to apple lossless (knowing ipod don't play FLAC) but when i try to play a song the ipod often skip the song and go to the next song and when i get it to start playing the first song, it can skip every other other song (from one to three) what's up with that?
My firmware is 1.2.3

Hi,
I brought my ipod yesterday and had the exact same issue. it would skip certain songs frequently and was extremely frustrating. Im not sure if this is the case for all ipods (i have an ipod nano 16Gb 4th gen, with firmware 1.0.4), but i fixed my issue in a series of steps. Im not sure which exact part of my method did the job, but here it is:
1. plugged it into iTunes and clicked "restore" under the tab "summary". WARNING: This will delete everything, and restore factory settings. im not sure if this is necessary, but youll need to delete the songs which skip anyway.
2. pressed the eject button IN ITUNES (under "devices", and next to your ipod icon), ejecting the ipod. wait for the ipod to specify when it is ready for it to be unplugged. proceed to unplug said ipod.
3. Choose the language of your ipod, and go into playback settings and (settings/playback or something) and turn OFF "shake" and "energy saver"
4. Plug your ipod into your computer again and drag all the songs onto your ipod using itunes.
5. after it has finished copying, WAIT until the ipod no longer says "synching", and until it says "connected"
6. Press the eject button IN ITUNES (again, under devices, and next to your ipod icon)
7. Eject when the ipod says it is ok to do so.
As i said, im not sure which part of the method did it for me, but i think it might be the way in which i was ejecting it. Before i was ejecting the ipod on my desktop. I think it is important to eject it using itunes. Anyway this fixed my ipod. Im not sure if it will do the same to yours, but if its making you very angry (to say the least) like it made me, its worth a try i guess. I would appreciate it if people let me know if this works.

• "!" appears next to song in itunes

a week ago everything was great the last time i updated now the past 2 days since i have been trying to update again it seems the song titles are there in the ipod but no song. and now an "!" appears next to the songs. Please help.

Have you been rearranging folders or music lately?
When ! appears next to songs in itunes, it usually means that the program cant find the songs in the folder they are meant to be in.
The only way to solve this is to clear these songs from itunes ( for large groups of songs highlight one, hold shift, click last song, right click, go to clear) and re-import them into itunes.
Hope this helps

• Skipping song on iPod

I have recently "Restored" my iPod, converting it from a "Windows" to "Machintosh" format. All songs have been sync'd correctly.
However on a large number of songs, the iPod plays about 30 seconds of the songs, and skips to the next. All songs play correctly on iTunes.
Can anyone help? I have iTunes 7.1.1 and the 1.2.1 on the iPod.

do you mean the song you purchased from iTunes stores
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93035
Otherwise, please do the following
For Mac computer
1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
For Window computer
Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”

• Songs on iPod disappeared

Any answers will help.
I just got my iPod yesterday which replaces and old iPod. I had all my songs loaded with games and everything. I connected my digital camera to get pictures to put on my new iPod. When I clicked back to iTunes after putting pictures on my computer, my iPod was completely empty. The songs are still on iTunes so I am reloading them, but why did they erase in the first places?
Thanks in advance.

I am having the same problem(using nano). I always rejected the update for itunes and i finally accepted the update and ever since it has been ****. Several songs are missing from the Artist list, but for some reason they are listed under the songs list. When i add a song to the library from my music folder it doesnt even show up. When i do try to sync the ipod it says there is not enough memory on the ipod to sync all the songs selected, when on the previous version i had plenty of room plus some. Every time i open itunes it's as i havent finished the setup process because i have to select options.
Does anyone know how to fix this, or go back to the old version of itunes?
