Does anyone know how I can download the drver for a Pioneer dvdrw dv-k15 ????

You shouldn't need a driver. What makes you think you do?

I am trying to burn an album from iPhoto '09 and I receive the following error message:
The burn to the PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K06A drive failed. Verifying the burned data failed.
I have attempted 3 different times using the same media that worked prior to my upgrade to Snow Leopard. Prior to the upgrade I didn't have any problems.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Same for me here...no luck with TDK DL DVD +R. Seems that this drive is extremely picky with DL supports (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1181990).

  • The burn to the PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K06A drive failed?

I was wondering if anyone ever found a solution to this problem? This is the error message I get when I try to burn a DVD in iPhoto.
"The burn to the PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K06A drive failed. The disc drive didn't respond properly and can't recover or retry."
I am trying to back up all my photos in iPhoto to DVD. I am using iPhoto 11 and I currently run Mac OS X 10.6.8. I made about 10 DVD copies earlier before this problem started without any problems. Now I get this message all the time. I tried burning a movie DVD in iDVD and it worked with no problem so I do not think the DVD burner is defective. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Opening Pioneer DVDRW drive door without power

I have a problem with my Pioneer DVDRW drive on my G5. When it closes with a disk in it it sounds like a mixmaster. I suspect I accidently placed one of the clear plastic protectors that come with a new stack of DVDs together with the disk in the drive. The disk ejected, but the plastic protector is still in there?
I have the drive out and figured I could open the drawer and shake whatever is in there out.
Problem is I don't know how to open the drawer without power?
I've ordered a new pioneer drive, but figure I can salvage the old one and put it in another machine.

Thanks much. I seen the pinhole before, but I was afraid I'd break something. I got it open and sure enough, the pastic protector was in the drive. Next I guess I'll see if the drive has been damaged by the mix-mater effect.

  • Pioneer model DVR-111 BK is compatible inside the Power Mac G4

    Hi,
currently I am working with Power Mac G4 (dual processor) and Mac OS X v10.3.3 as operating system. I would like to know if the DVD writer Pioneer model DVR-111 BK is compatible inside the Power Mac G4.
I wait for your kind answer and best regards.

Hi, Manuele, and welcome to the Discussions!
The DVR-111 is a highly-compatible drive. Like with most non-Apple supplied burners, to enable burn support and use the burn capabilties of Apple's iLife applications using OS X 10.3.x, you'll need to downoad and install Patchburn 3.

  • Pioneer dvdrw k17

I own an HP pavilion dv6627 lapto with a pioneer dvdr w k17 drive. I've been having problems with the drive for a long time but lately it has become a permanent deal.  Right now the drive is inoperable. It no longer reads or writes any kind of media. What gets to me is that in the device manager the drive is identified as being "PYO^EUR0_DVDRW0_0DVR=K170 ata device".
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall it many times and once it went back to it's correct id and worked, after that it changed the id again and has remained so no matter what.
Could this be a firmware problem? If so where is it available?
If i try to load a dvd it freezes the whole computer and I have to power it down and restart.
    Any help would be apreciated.

Still have this problem and more now. Any help???

  • Faulty HL-DT-ST DVDRW  GS21N optical drive

I have a HL-DT-ST DVDRW  GS21N optical drive in my MBP 15'' late 2008 which is faulty and does not take in a disc. Any suggestions...

You could take it to Apple and have them replace the drive or you could DIY by buying a new SuperDrive from OWC.

  • DVR-K15 ATA driver for windows 7 for my laptop dv1000

Need to update my driver on laptop as DVDRW is not detected in the device manager. Please advise on th elonk to download the requisite driver for above.

There is no driver. You need to perform an edit to the registry to remove something called upper and lower filters. The problem is so common that there is a Microsoft autofix.  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/314060 I am assuming the DVDRW is showing up in the BIOS and you can boot from it, just not see it in Windows. If so, then the above link has several alternate means to fix the problem in Windows 7.  Let us know if this works and if it does please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

  • Can someone tell me EXACTLY how to flash my Pioneer 110D DVR drive?

Sorry to be a pest, but I bought into Mac 15 years ago because I wanted simplicity, not lots of commands!
OK, I found the Flash upates for my 110D drive, downloaded and unzipped, and got 2 files: RB100111.137 and RB100011.137 [both showing as MS Exel files!]
I tried using the little DVRFlash program that came also. Well, whatever I seem to do, following what few instructions I can find, I either keep exiting the program after nothing happens, or I get a msg that it can't find the files I type in. Will someone give a 55 yo man a break here... go ahead and talk to me like a child. I just can't figure this out... all I know is, a month ago I could burn DVD+DL, then I upgraded to 10.4.6, and now I can't.

Got help off-line... all a matter of pointers... thanx to my secret Mac angel!

  • Internal Pioneer DVDRW DR-KD08HB ATA DEVICE not working

i have a HP Pavilion dv 9925nr Notebook PC, OS Windows Vista 64bit, and the internal DVDRW Pioneer drive shows up in the device mgr with an ( ! ).  I've tried to reload drivers, disable and enable, un-install, and install, and nothing is working. Suggestions please.

This problem is caused by two Windows registry entries that have become corrupted. To fix the problem, you have to use Registry Editor to delete the corrupted Registry entries. To use this method, you must be logged on to Windows as an administrator. Back to the top
    Windows 7 or Windows Vista
Click Start, and then click All Programs.
Click Accessories, and then click Run.
Type regedit, and then click OK.If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
    In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
In the right pane, click UpperFilters.
Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 8.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
In the right pane, click LowerFilters.
Note If you do not see the LowerFilters registry entry, unfortunately this content cannot help you any further. Go to the "Next Steps" section for information about how you can find more solutions or more help on the Microsoft Web site.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    Exit Registry Editor.
    Restart the computer.

  • Satellite A30 CDRW-DVDRW (Mat****a) drive can't recognize any dvd

    Hi!
    I own a Satellite A30-303 with a optical drive MAT****A UJ811 (CDRW-DVDRW).
Everything worked just fine until last week the drive stopped reading any DVD. A error message saying that there is some problem with E/S is displayed. CDs are recognized with no problems though.
I tried to find updated drivers for the DVD driver but I couldn't get any.
Please does anyone have an idea of what that might be and how to solve it??
    Thank you!!
    Alex

    Hello
On this way it is always not simply to say what the problem can be. Like littco wrote check if there is some virus or any kind of malware. It is also possible that there is some technical problem and the drive can not calibrate on the right way.
I really dont know what you mean with E/S but you can try to remove the device from device manager and restart the unit. The last thing that you can try is to reinstall the unit using recovery CD. On this way the unit will be absolutely clean. If the problem persist there is obviously malfunction and the drive must be replaced.
By the way; have the same opinion like littco.

  • Problems with my DVR-104 drive

    Hey there,
I'm experiencing a few problems with my Superdrive. When I try to burn from Toast (7.0), the verification always fails, and inevitably the DVD can't play properly. It also has problems reading some DVD's, whether burnt or blank. The CD reader and writer works fine, but I'm at a loss for what might be wrong with the DVD.
I checked to see if I could update my firmware, but no updates exist. Any suggestions??
Is it time to get a new drive?
    Thanks.
    Mario

It would cost you to about $40 to replace that drive with the newest Pioneer, the 112, which is an excellent drive and would give you much better performance and work with a much wider variety of media. Pioneer updates their firmware often, but after a certain number of years discontinue updates.
It isn't unusual for the cd or dvd side to work but not the other as they are 2 different assemblies, and one of them no longer working is a very common symptom of a dying drive. There are things you can try that may work at reviving the drive (a lens cleaner, blowing out dust from the interior of the drive with the tray open) but at the age of that drive I'd just replace it if it's within your budget, as you've already done a good job of checking out most of the basics. Here's a link to some info on the 112:

  • Installing Int  Pio DVR-110 Drive -recognition/bootability ?s

Visiting mother in WY. Her CD has not worked in long tiime. I hooked up Firewire DC ext. drive to boot from for maintenance, etc., but now want to iinstall Tiger and iLife 6 etc. . I'm on vacation and nervous about the installation. Can anyone direct me to a good installation resource. Otherwise, my main questions have to do with all this talk about Patchburn. I'm not clear about the OS compatability. The first thing I want to do is install Tiger, which means I need to boot from the Tiger install disk. What are the OS compatability issues with this drive? The OWC website statessomething about native OS rcognition, then the product details tlak about not supporting OSX and needing Patchburn. Can anyone help sort this out for me? thanks

Patchburn is a firmware patch to extend recognition to non-Apple recordable drives. If your drive shows up in Patchburn's list after you download and launch the program, go ahead and run it. After that, the drive should be bootable and you can install Tiger. Be sure to refer to

  • C2D LG/Hitatchi HL-DT-ST DVDRW GWA4080MA Optical Drive Boot Noise

I was just wondering if any other C2D Macbook Pro users with the new LG/Hitatchi optical drive have noticed a different sound coming from it when the computer boots compared to the sound the optical drive made in previous Macbook Pros and Powerbooks (MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857D). The drive itself functions fine, but this is a replacement computer (which makes me paranoid to begin with), and between my previous C2D and the Powerbook before that, which both had the MATSHITA, the noise the optical drive makes when the computer boots is noticeably different--it's a short, quick noise, not as drawn out as before. I called Apple, and they hadn't heard anything about it, and told me to reset my SMC, which I did and no change in boot noise. I think the boot noise is functionally correct, just want to see if anyone else with the LG optical drive has noticed it...

    C2D Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)
    C2D Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I just had my optical drive replaced. The drive does make a different noise than the Matshita drive that was in the computer before. The noise that I'm hearing isn't anything to be worried about. I just take it to be that it is a different mechanism. And it is a noise that I've heard in other optical drives that I haven't had a problem with.
