PKI Client starts to intialize, then 7 minutes later client agents go back to disabled for upwards of an hour
Starting a new thread on this as I have done much digging and no longer believe its a conflicting record issue.
I am SCCM 2012 SP1 on Server 2008 R2/SQL 2012 CU2. My "Lan" based management point is HTTP and I also have an Internet Management point that is HTTPS. All scenerios discussed in this thread are installing the 2012 SP1 client while connected
to the Lan. We have a fully functional PKI infrastructure with auto enrol enabled.
The issue at hand:
Wether I install the client during OSD, or manually install the client I get the same result. This is that the client agent upon successful install begins communicating with the HTTP management point and starts retrieving policy. If I open the
ConfigMgr applet in Control Panel I see the client shows "Client Certificate: PKI", "Connection Type: Currently Intranet". If I view actions I see all actions with the exception of Discovery Data Collection Cycle and Hardware Inventory
Cycle.
I have watched the client logs the only thing that seems to stick out is in the CcmNotificationAgent.log which shows the bgb client agent actions. it repeats the following aprox every 5 minutes:
bgb client agent is starting...
bgb client agent is disabled
TCP Listener is disabled
bgbController main thread us started with settings: [bgb enable = 0], {tcp enable = 0} and {http enable = 0}.
Wait 3600 seconds for even notification

After almost 7 minutes exactly, the all the client agent actions besides Machine Policy Retrieval and UserPolicy Retrieval disappear (as if client policy was Reset)
If I let the client sit for 45-minutes to an hour, everything starts working again and works fine from there on out. (cycling the SMS Agent service nor rebooting the machine makes it recover until the 45-min to an hour pass)
My command line I am using to install the client is:
ccmsetup.exe /mp:MYLANBASEDMP /UsePKICert /NOCRLCheck CCMHOSTNAME="myinternetmp.mydomain.com" SMSSITECODE=P10 SMSCACHESIZE=7000 FSP=MYLANBASEDMP CCMLOGMAXSIZE=1000000
If I take out the /usePKICert, /NOCRLCheck and CCMHOSTNAME Entries, the client install and continues to function without issue.
Anyone have any others ideas on where to troubleshoot this issue? It would make more sense if the client NEVER worked after install. Tearing my hair out trying to figure out why it starts to intialize, then reverts, then comes back online and
works fine. This happens at both my primary site MP as well as my secondary site/mp. It happens on my standard Win7 image as well as Windows 8 test machines so I dont believe its a client OS issue.
Good news! (and potentially bad news)
Good news, I received and email from the new support tech stating that indeed this issue was NOT fixed in CU3, however there is a workaround:
At present we have a workaround for the issue by setting the following registry
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CCM\UserPolicyReRequestDelay (REG_DWORD) value: 6,000,000 (decimal).
Please add a step in your Task Sequence to add this registry value.
If you are also facing the issue while trying to install the client manually then please follow these steps
1. Install the client manually
2. Immediately disable and stop the CCMExec service (SMS Agent Host)
3. Set the following registry HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CCM\UserPolicyReRequestDelay (REG_DWORD) value: 6,000,000 (decimal)
4. Enable and set the CCMExec service to automatic
5. Start the CCMExec service
I have tested when doing a manual client install and it works perfectly..IF you make sure to stop CCMEXEC directly after the client finishes installing as denoted in step 2 above. I have every reason to believe that will will also work during a Task
Sequence base don these results. I'll be testing that soon.
The bad news: If you are using Client Push, this workaround would not work since there isn't a way to wrap a script around the installer to perform the steps above. Maybe you could add this value to all machines prior to client push using GPP's or a
startup script?
I don't currently use Client Push so its not a huge issue for me, I will just need to adjust my machine startup script to perform the steps but can see how this will still be an issue for others.
Either way, its a step in the right direction. Certainly tells me they have identified the issue and will hopefully be including a true fix in an upcoming hotfix or update.

hi, could someone help me please. as i pluged my ipad into my comuter to load some music on to ipad .

i have, its connected to my sisters computer,it starts to restore then says there was a problem downloading the software for the iphone, the network connection has timed out. what does this mean?

When I turn on my wifi in top bar and connect,minutes later I get an annoying pop up notification letting me know I'm connected, AGAIN. It freezes everything including psswds and I have to start all over. This is petty, but how do I shut this popup off?
What OS X version are you using?
Can you take a screenshot of the pop-up notification?
To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse button. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
If you want to attach a screenshot to a response here, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the window the cursor is on.
⌘ Shift 3 captures the entire screen. -
Screen pink at BIOS, then fine, then about 5 minutes later it goes black or dark
We have multiple IBM T40 laptops that have this symptom with the screen:

I hope I am wrong, but what you are describing sounds very much to me as when the inverter or CCFLs (backlights) are failing. The clue is that they "start pink" which is indicative of this. If this is the case the options are limited.

Hi there. I am trying to import some older CD's into iTunes. I have my preference set on 'import CD and eject'. CD goes in..i hear it spin. nothing appears, then 1 minute later it is spat out. All help appreciated thanks!
Several thoughts:
1) 6 year old computer. Could be a classic case of drive failing. Many do after 4-5 years. There's various things you can try such as a cleaning disc but don't have high hopes.
2) You say "older" CDs. Are these burned CDs? those can go bad with age, particularly if the medium quality wasn't super great to start with. Have you tried a commercially produced CD?
3) I presume the CDs aren't covered with greasy fingerprints from the last pizza party. -
Why I can not go to webpage even wifi is on?it happens every 6 minutes.......
Is it the same webpage everytime? And is it exactly 6 minutes?
If you have control over the modem and wifi router, i.e. your personal router in your home, I would powercycle your modem and router and see what happens.
1. unplug the wifi router's power cord
2. unplug the modem's power cord
3. wait 10 - 15 seconds (I usually wait about a minute)
4. plug the modem back in and wait for it to stabilize
5. plug the router back in and wait for it to stabilize
6. try to to to the web page again.
And while I am waiting for my modem to start back up and get itself connected to the internet I usually restart my iPad/iPhone. Hold the Home button and the Power button down at the same time, wait for the apple logo to appear and then wait for the device to to a restart. Very much like rebooting your PC. -
After upgrading to 10.7.2, my iMac works fine for 40-50 minutes, then slows to a crawl. Restart gets back to normal, then 40 minutes later need to restart again. Thought about reinstalling Lion through Lion Recovery, but won't let me, says my hard disk is locked? Any suggestions?
Launch the Terminal app in /Utilities/, run these two commands (copy & paste each one separately and hit the return key):
sudo chflags 0 /volumes/*
sudo chmod a+rx /volumes/*
at the Password: prompt, type in your admin password, carefully since nothing displays on the screen, and hit the return key. These should unlock your drives. You might have to restart. -
Need a shortcut to "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above option preference" I know where it is and how to use it but I have to go through 7 mouse clicks to change it, then a few minutes later change it back. I also know the sequnce is alt t, alt o, alt c, alt a, then ok, ok. Got to be a way to make a one key short cut for this. I use a black background to reduce eye strain, but about 10% of the webpage I go to can't be send with black so I have to go into tools and hit 6 or 7 things to chnage it then after through with webpage have to do it all over at Not allow webpages to have own color. Very very cumbersome.

XBMC: HDMI audio starts out OK, then gets distorted after few minutes

I have posted about this on the XBMC forums, but one of the developers kindly informed me that they do not support XBMC on Arch Linux in any way, so I should take my queries elsewhere. I am hoping that someone here might be able to shed some light on my issue.
I am trying to use XBMC 13.1 (xbmc-13.1-2) with Samsung EH5300 32" Smart TV (2013 model) over HDMI connection. The HTPC computer is AMD-based (AMD A4-5300 APU, which includes Radeon HD 7480D GPU), and runs an up-to-date Arch Linux (last full system upgrade on 2014-06-26). I am using the open source "radeon" driver (xf86-video-ati-1:7.3.0-1). Everything has been great except the sound:
The sound starts out fine, but a few minutes later it begins to get distorted. At first it sounds like reverb affecting voice only, but with time the distortion increases until it sounds kind of cued TV noise. If I restart the video, the sound works again for a while. If I change options in Settings -> System -> Audio Output, like the number of channels or pass-through, the sound is again good for a little while. If I enable or disable "Stereo Upmix" or change audio stream from the "Audio - Settings" dialogue window available during video playback, it too seems to "reset" the sound to sounding normal for a while.
Has anyone seen something like this?
I have tried different videos, and it seems like HD videos are affected more than SD videos, starting with distortions only a few minutes in (except the one Xvid video, which was fine for 15 minutes). Some SD videos are completely fine, some start having distortion issues only after 20 minutes or so. Judging from video information, if the video uses 5.1 channels (all HD videos fall in this category), it definitely gets distorted; if a video only uses 2.0 channels (like the SD videos), some are fine while others get distortion later on. I have "Number of channels" in Audio Output settings set to 2.0. Changing this (or any other audio settings) has not affected the distortion.
Following Arch Wiki: Radeon note about HDMI audio, I tried adding radeon.audio=1 to the kernel line; this did not solve the issue, just added some visual glitches.
In the XBMC debug log I posted, the distortions happen at around 17:26, though there is absolutely nothing logged at that time, even though I enabled "Verbose logging of AUDIO component" in the Debugging settings. The video I was playing there showed the following in the information window: 720 H.264 dts 5.1 16:9.
Any suggestions, ideas, or experiences would be appreciated. It definitely seems to be XBMC issue, since I was able to play the same HD video through mplayer without any problems (for at least half an hour, which would have already showed distortions several times through XBMC).Hi GDykes,
OK Imagine that Connection speed from your ISP is like an empty freeway. You can go full tilt (upto that road's speed limit)
Bandwidth is like a busy freeway where you only get to go as the bit you are in allows.
Reducing the Bandwidth in iChat or in the System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming tab is like a vehicle that has a maximum speed that is slower than the speed possible on the freeway.

Just finished making a phone call. Noticed I needed to update apps. Started that. Put the phone in my pants pocket. Minutes later heard a steady buzzing sound. It was my iphone. I pressed the phone, the screen was black. I tried turning it off from the top: it would not turn off. It kept buzzing. The Iphone went dead. Any ideas?

JeonishaI had a similar issue where my iPhone just died on me even though it had plenty of battery left. I was told to do a hard reset by holding the lock and home buttons down together for 15 seconds. When I did my phone came back on and worked normally.

I cannot open visualizer in window mode for the new version of iTunes 11.0.
Hi, I used to turn on the visualizer in window mode. But since I updated to iTunes 11.0, the visualizer can only be turned on in full screen mode. People said that double-click on a playlist or right-click to show "open in a new window" should work.
