Place an icon in the icon tray next to the clock

i was just wondering is there a way in java to place an icon for my program in the notification tray (near the clock) and i would also like to get rid of the tab that comes up in the task bar.
i dont no if this is possible as i have yet to see it be done.
any replies are greatly appreciated thanks for your time

Hi guys,
I have a program that runs in the background (a daemon). It refers to a database and make some calculations. If it's not activated, the database will lack some critical information. For this propose, I eliminated the closing option from the user (it's a gui); so if the user wants to close it he must terminated the application from the 'window task manager'.
Question: how can I place this process as a small icon next to the clock on the lower right side? I don't want the process to be shown on the taskbar.

I can't find info on how to control lower icon tray depth so that I can see and click on various program install, PDF print and other 'print', 'next', 'finish', etc. commands.

If I understand you correctly your PDF viewer is not giving you the options you posted above. Click on View and ensure that both Read Mode and Full Screen Mode are unchecked. This should get your options back if you are experiencing that I am thinking you are. If this does not work if you could elaborate a bit on your issue I will try to assist.

Why is the camera icon now next to my lock button on my iphone?

I was just looking for an answer to this, thinking the new update was buggy since clicking the camera icon didn't work anymore. I didn't see the SLIDE option. Thanks!

Without any more information than you have offered it's difficult to say why. If it happens again check Activity Monitor (Applictions - Utilities - Activity Monitor) and see if you have anything taking a large %CPU. If you are getting a SBBOD then also check the FREE RAM which you will find in the System Memory tab in Activity Monitor.

What do the icons indicate next to the pages in the sidebar?

Specifically, what does the icon of the silhouette of a person mean? I created a website over a year ago and went back today to update for the first time in forever. When I duplicated a few pages somehow the icons, instead of being little blank, red squares, had a silhouette of a person's head/shoulders.
Then, when I tried to publish it to a folder on my hard drive, it said that it was successful, but my new pages aren't in the folder. I clicked "replace everything" but my new stuff won't show up.
Any thoughts?

They indicate which style of page template it is. When you create a new page in iWeb, you have a choice of eight page templates within each theme.

I don't like the colors or placement of Icons in Version 8. I do I know my previous version and how do I get back to it?

Just followed instructions to update to vers 8 and now I remember I intensely disliked the layout from a placement and colour of the top three or four lines on the screen on a previous update I performed. Now I don't know what version I was using yesterday and I don't see any mention of resolving this on the forum

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Why can't I place disk icons on my desktop?
I installed OSX Lion, version 10.7.1 from the App Store onto the internal disk of my MacBookPro which was cloned to an external FW800 GoFlexDesk drive. I booted from that external drive, ran the disk utility to erase and then repartition my internal drive so that I would have a "clean" installation of Lion. My disk icon (for the internal drive) does not even show in Finder windows. In Snow Leopard I showed my internal drive, my Time Capsule drives, and any external drives on my desktop as icons. Now these do not even show in Finder. I know they are there, because if I choose the path view option, they are shown when I pick "All My Files" under favorites. I can navigate backwards in the path bar, but still they do not actually allow me to select them or drag them to the desktop. In Snow Leopard, it was an option to show disks on desktop in general system preferences, but I find that option no where in Lion! What simple little thing am I missing?

It sounds like what you actually need to do is amend the icon itself - something like Iconographer will help you with that. Open the icon of any standard folder, copy in your photo image, amend the result to your satisfaction, and save it as a new icon. Then apply that icon to your folder.

The camera icon appears so that you can take a picture quickly without having to enter your password. It is not responsible for the shutter sound. The Touch always made that sound when manually closing or going to sleep even with older iOS that did not have the camera icon.

Does anyone know how to remove the application (HP Smart Web Printing) from my webpage during browser startup and yet allow me to retain it in my icon tray????? If not I will probably delete it.

Hi,
The only option I know of is to disable the add-on in IE. You can then always just re-enable it if you need to use it. If you want to do this, from the Start Menu, open the Control Panel, open Internet Option, click the Programs tab and click Manage Add-ons. Scroll down the list until you find Smart Web Printing, left click the entry once to highlight it and then click the Disable button that will appear in the bottom right of the window. Re-enabling this is just the reverse.

Siri icon button next to spacebar button on keyboard not working

When using my IPHONE Reminders List application, my siri button next to the space bar on the keyboard no longer works. It does not light up anymore and will not retrieve siri when pushed. This same siri icon button other the keyboard of other applications like messaging, notes, etc. still works. It's just quit working on the Reminders List. Mind you, if I press the circular button below the keyboard it DOES work (the circular button on the face of the phone versus the icon on the keyboard to the left of the spacebar).
Last night, I added some third party applications (an art program) to my IPAD, not my IPhone, and I updated third party applications as well on my IPAD. I was told that since I used the same apple's ID on the IPAD and IPHONE, the addition of the application could affect my iphone as well. Does anyone know how to get that icon button next to the space bar on my Reminders List to work again?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPhone shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

Icon tray issue, maybe related to power gauge

Dear Community,
I have a 1 month old ThinkPad L540 with Windows 7 Pro SP 1 with Power Manager 6.64.4.
My icon tray is not shown correct, it seems that a part of the tray is shown twice, see the image below:
I tried disabling the power gauge (which i actually do not want), which did not solve the problem. Then it copied the first part of the standard icon tray. It does seem that it is related to power manager, however. But I am not sure about that. The copied part of the icon tray is unresponsive.
If i for some reason unlock the taskbar and tries to resize the icon tray area, it only gets worse. If I make it bigger, it just copies the icon tray again and again.
Any ideas? fixes? It's only aesthetic, but it annoys me like crazy!
