Placing call; nothing happens; no ringing, doesn't...

I've used Skype for years.
Right now, I press CTRL D to open the window for pasting in a phone number.
Then I paste in the number.
Then I click the telephone icon that says "call" when you hover over it.
I hear the bonk bonk bonk babonkbonk sound that you always hear right after you do that.
I see an animated vertical line of five white dots.
But no ringing. Nothing.
About 40 seconds later, it disconnects (with the usual downward-pitch whoosh sound).
Can anyone help??

Thx, apple master and stedman but tried all of it and still doesn't ring . I have sound on my videos and YouTube tho. Very strange.

I have a 4th gen. ipod touch. It has software 4.2.1 and itunes always tells me I need to update to ios 6. I always click download and install. After the download is complete, nothing happens. It doesn't install on its own. Thanks,

Are you sure it is a 4G iPod? Does it have a camera?

Why doesn't my card reader work when I take it from the camera and put it in the reader? Nothing happens and it doesn't show up in finder.

When I put my card into the reader, nothing happens. It doesn't show up in finder so I can't dismount it. The pictures on it aren't readeable all of a sudden, except for two of them, and that's all that would download to iphoto, but I had to connect the camera since the card reader doesn't resond.

Welcome to the Support Communities! Are you asking about the SD slot on your Mac, or is this an external card reader plugged into a USB port? If it is the one on your Mac, the article below may be helpful. Did you try more than one SD card? You can use Disc Utility to erase and reformat the card if needed.

Remove the card and insert it again. Sometimes, if you put the SD card into the slot too slowly, it may not mount properly.

Formatting cards larger than 32GB for use with digital cameras, GPS, and other devices may require formatting them with the exFAT file system. When in doubt, format the cards in the device you intend to use with the card.

And just what sort of changes in "appearance" did you expect?
If you can access the editing, conversion, and/or properties options once a file is loaded then the QT 7 app has been upgreaded for "Pro" use.

General> Reset< Reset All Settings will work! Be careful not to erase! and you will have to redo all of your settings. Everything, ringers, even wifi will be lost! Big pain!!! I still dont have everything like I used to after the reset, but location services can be enabled again.

Skype call, nothing happens

Hello out there!
First of all, please excuse my rather poor English. I hope what I write is understandable. Last night I was going to video call a friend by Skype. I chose the contact name and then I tried to make the call the usual way.
The call window pops up, but afther this nothing happens. Usually there should be an audio signal, telling that a Skype call is being made, followed by the call tone. But nothing happens from here. Silence, no call tone and no connection. After a while the call windows shut down, I get the "fail signal" and a little message under my contacts window aying "Call failed". It's happening when I try to call other contacts as well.
Skype has been working very well until now.
I have an Acer laptop, running Win7 64. "Lot's" of memory etc.
Anyone?

Was the contact you were trying to call Online on Skype? The status icon next to this contact's name must be solid green with a white checkmark inside.

After following (4.0) setup process, nothing happens, and firefox doesn't install.

Ok, so i follow the steps to get firefox installed to 4.0
The screen flickers afterwards, which usually happens when a new icon is meant to appear on the screen, but nothing happens.

Thank you christ1. That worked. I did try running it with administrator, but I hadn't rebooted and it didn't work. It did work after I rebooted. I don't know why that should have mattered, but there you go. Thank you again.

When placing phone call,can not hear phone ringing in earpeice,speakerphone works ok when turned on ,then turning off speaker phone phone works ok

I am having the same problem with my iPhone 4s with iOS 5.0.1.
Symptoms: I dial the number and the phone's display shows "calling ..." and the red "End" button, but I cannot hear an outgoing ringer.
I was under the impression that the phone on the other end (that I was calling) was not ringing either, but that is not the case. The phone on the receiving end rings. I cannot hear the person I'm calling (or his/her answering machine) if he/she/it picks up.
My carrier is AT&T, but others in my office with the same phone/carrier have not experienced this problem.

I cannot make or receive calls suddenly. Ihave tried to power off and on and when I type in the numbers to make a call, nothing happens.

I can't download firefox 4. I only get the option of "save file" or "cancel". When saving file nothing happens. Still doesn't download.

I click on 'download', then the box appears asking whether I want to save file or cancel. Usually, when downloading, the option of "run file" is given, but not in this case.

Click on Save File. Then click on the Tools menu at the top of the page and click on Downloads. When the file finishes downloading, double click it to being the installation.

I updated firefox to version 8. When I click on the shortcut to open the browser nothing happens. It doesn't open. I checked the process in my task manager and it says it is running. Any idea what's up?

I just clicked up there on "I have this problem too" and then began tinkering with Windows. What I've found out: if I go to firefox.exe properties and run as administrator, it works -- Firefox opens. The only hitch is that for every instance of FF I open, I get that annoying box asking me if I will allow FF to make changes to my computer, as if it were a new install. I also lose the capacity to open instances in tabs... This is not a workable solution to the problem, but perhaps it will provide someone with useful insight to help fix this issue.
BTW, I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bits.
After an hour or so of research, I've found a runaround for the UAC issue (basically changing permissions specifically for Firefox, without changing my global settings), and now I have a nice Firefox icon on my desktop, with no irritating boxes popping up every time I click on it. And Firefox works! Here's the runaround:

First time I tryed to download OS X Mavericks there was an error and since then I've been able to download the operative system.
As far as I know my system is ok for it but when I click to free downlad Mavericks nothing happens. It doesn't even aprears on the purchases of my apple store.
What can I do to be able to download the software?

My iTunes won't open. When I click on the icon nothing happens. It doesn't bounce or anything. When i plug my iPhone into my macbook nothing happens either. I recently updated my operating system to the Yosemite. Everything worked fine until i updated it. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

Program folder? In general backing up and restoring application folders is not going to work. Windows programs should be installed using the appropriate installation programs.
