I am trying to display my own video on a HDTV from iTunes on my iMac. Trying to output through thunderport w/ mini displayport to HDMI cable.

So far so good. It sounds like you have the correct hardware and adapters to connect to your TV.
Open the System Preferences and click on the Displays settings. If you are trying to display the same image on both the iMac and your TV then click on the 'Arrangement' tab within the display preferance pane, and then check the 'Mirror Displays' check box.
If you are experiencing problems with your setup then please let us know that is not working correctly. Are you seeing anything on your HDTV? Does the Display preference pane show that both your iMac and HDTV displays are recognized?

To keep both libraries perfectly synced, you may need to find a script or separate application to do it.
If you're just interested in keeping the music the same (but not necessarily play counts, ratings, etc) you can just copy the music itself from one computer to the other (via network).
Perhaps someone with a bit more imagination/experience can provide a working solution? I've done something similar by using an external/network drive and a sym linked iTunes library, but the problem with that is your laptop won't be able to access the music unless it's on your home network.

To answer the second question first, the owners of the music (and that is not Apple) decide where their music can be sold. If they decide (for whatever reason) not to sell their music in a particular country, they will not let a music retailer (that is Apple this time) sell it in that country. So the "system" is beyond Apple's control.
As for your first post; (if I understand you correctly), the iTunes Store knows that you are in Russia, so using a credit card registered in Vietnam is simply going to look like you're trying to get round the system.
The credit card is tied to an address, and therefore to a country. Simply using a different country's address is not going to work.
By the way, this is a world-wide situation. It's not a matter of having to use a Russian card, whatever card you use has to be registered at an address in Russia.
Use the support link in the iTunes Store to contact Apple and see if you can straighten out whether you can buy songs, where ever you are and with whichever card you have.

Probably the most straightforward way to get iTunes onto your new computer is to network it and the original one and copy over your iTunes folder. This works fine if you have been using iTunes to completely manage your music and all your songs are in iTunes Music not in different folders: Connecting two Mac computers using Ethernet
Copying the whole folder brings with it the iTunes Music folder and also the iTunes Library (iTunes Library.itl in Windows) database file which holds all the information about your songs (Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added, etc). When you copy the iTunes folder make sure you put it into the same location on the new computer. This has to be the exact same place, on a Mac this would be in Username/Music/. When you open iTunes on the new computer it will be the same as on the original one Songs, Playlists, Play Counts, Ratings etc. When I moved iTunes recently for my daughter I was also using the same version of iTunes, not sure how important that is but it's probably worth keeping them the same.

My problem is a simple one that YOU will, sooner or later, face---else you already faced it. It is the DREADED mixed media from You Tube. HOW DO I MASS CONVERT MY ITUNES FLV VIDEOS TO MP4 VIDEOS. If MP4 will play Video & Audio---why do I need FLV files?

3. 90% of said You Tube videos are in Flash Video (FLV), 10% are MP4.
4. You can only play FLV on outputs that have videos, MP4 videos can play in video mode else audio only mode---THEREFORE I NEED TO CONVERT all my FLVs to MP4s on my iPOD Classic (160GB).
5. Yes, there are a handful of FREE Video Converter programs out there and the one I have AV8 will convert FLV to MP4 one file at a time...drip,drip,drip!!!
6. I have 800+ Music Videos---I will have died from old age before my iPod is filled.
7. My DESIRED END STATE is to flip a software switch and have all my iPOD FLV videos magically convert to MP4
8. You Tube Download Modality: I find a song I like and Download it to RealPlayer. Once downloaded, I PAINFULLY convert it to Ipod (can't do more than 9 songs at a time). Once in iTunes, I sync it to my iPOD classic and bam---my videos are in my my iPOD.
9. Currently, the only songs that play on my iPOD are those I've purchased from iTunes.
10. Whudda I Do? The Apple Tech guys haven't a clue. Also. If I can only do it manually (I've got movies mixed in as well), how do I set up an MP4 folder and then only transfer that folder on to my iPOD?!!!

iTunes includes an option to transfer content purchased from the iTunes Store only from an iPod or iPhone - not for content acquired elsewhere that was transferred from iTunes to your iPhone.

I just bought a new Mac Book Pro today. 8 GB ram upgrade. $2400.00. Why the **** cant I play any videos? I am especially mad because I downloaded some from itunes because I am on a trip and missed the plane because our bus driver was extremely rude and made the entire bus miss flights. Playing a video file retrieved from database using JMF

Hello!
I am developing a multimedia application that has to store videos, music, pictures in a database. I did a little searching and found that JMF is a very good solution in playing video/music using Java. I found some examples to play the video/music stored on the hard drive (as separate files), but i have to be able to take the video/music from the database, and feed it to the JMF player. Has anyone some suggestions about how this could be done?

Well, i think i didn't make myself clear enough :). i know how to retreive the data from the database. The thing is this: let's suppose i have a 700 MB movie stored in the database. One option to play that movie would be to retrieve it from the DB, create a file somewhere on the disk, and put the data retrieved from the database in that file. But this involves that the disk will be overflooded when let's say 100 people watch 100 different movies. Another option (as i see it) would be to gradually take parts of the movie from the database (first 50 MB, then another 50 MB, then another and so on), and feed it to the JMF player. The user will watch the movie, but will not have the whole movie available, just a part of it. As he watches it, the application takes the next chunck of movie data and feeds it to the JMF player. That was the question i intended to ask, if anyone has any idea regarding the second option, and not the part with retrieving from the database, but the part with giving the JMF player video data to play.
The example i found on the web with JMF player is the following:

Sound from video plays after video player removed from stage

I have a website http://www.droolpigs.com when I go there if I click the video archives button then play a video then click on the home or photos button or one of the alternate background buttons on the left the video goes away as it should but not always the audio (especially when I click while the video is still buffering). Is there a command I can use to kill the sound from the flvPlayback component and nothing else(I have a mp3 player there also I so I don't want to use the SoundMatrix class.
btw the videos are all played on an instance of the flvPlayback component.

Transferring itunes from imac

Hello i just got a macbook and i would like to transfer my itunes from my old imac which has panther to my new macbook which has tiger i have already tried to transfer them using firewire and i got them onto my new macbook but when i opened the itunes application they were not there so i found the itunes folder i had moved and dragged it onto the icon on my dock the songs started to load but then about maybe half way through a sign came up that said that there was not enough room on macintosh HD to copy the selected files and i had to force quit itunes What should i do? Thank you!!

Delete the iTunes folder in the Music folder in the Finder's sidebar, open iTunes, turn off the option to automatically copy the songs to the iTunes music folder in the Advanced section of the iTunes preferences, and drag the folder onto the iTunes icon again.
