Play video in seperate browser

I have created a PDF using acrobat X (for the bookmark features) instead of embedding the video, I want the PDF to open in a browser and have links to videos. When the videos open the PDF closes. Can I make the videos play in a seperate browser window? I have tried edit/preferences/document uncheck open cross-document links in same window. I have also tried using javascript with the ,true function instead of link.

You can't force a local PDF file to open in a Web browser, and can't gurantee that anyone viewing it on a website won't download it.
PDF files cannot link to local external non-PDF files, but it could link to a URL containing a video (on a webserver) provided it's supported by your browser, or it's wrapped in HTML.
The preferences reating to window reuse are talking about the Acrobat window on the desktop, not the Web browser window.

  • After the last firefox updates I can not play videos in the browser. I have updated the plug-ins all to no avail

I have tried running the videos on the BBC website and they time out after 20 sec. with the message "The content doesn't seem to be working. Try again later" all plugins are up to date, and the cookies are not barred
    == This happened ==

Videos from all three sites play fine for me (except the ones from tfl.fr that are only available if you are in France), so something is not quite right with your system. However bear in mind that some of them take a while to load.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
You should also ensure that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2009-001 (and for Tiger only, 2009-002 and 003). (N.B. Security Updates require both a restart and a permission repair.)
You should also install Perian from http://perian.org/
You should read this support page http://perian.org/#support in case you need to delete older codecs.
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them). However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/
Now go to Safari Preferences/Security, and tick the boxes under Web Content (all 4 of them) to enable Java.
Lastly, repair permissions and restart your Mac.

  • Getting "OSStatus error -19160" when trying to play videos from Web browser

I have Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro (all silver aluminum), and am having a problem playing a video feed online. I get the message: "OSStatus error -19160". Nothing turns up in Google searches on that particular number. I've checked both QuickTime and Flip4Mac. Both are the latest. Any idea what this is? Is there a place that lists all OSStatus errors?

    Greetings,
I encountered error -19160 while attempting to stream a site that had formerly worked just fine.
I'm using Quicktime 10.0 and I've installed Flip4Mac 2.4 on a Mac Mini with Intel processors.  Earlier in the day I opened FireFox while streaming (I close FF after QT begins streaming) - Quicktime ended the stream at that point and wouldn't pick it back up.  I thought it was just a case of "don't do *that* again".
When I attempted to view the same stream later that day I was met with the error -19160 message.  Fiddled around with settings, booted soft & hard but nothing eliminated the error UNTIL
I dragged the WMV player icon from the Applications folder to the Trash bin - soft booted, then chose "Put Back" from the Trash menu.
    Everything now works splendidly.
    Hope this helps somebody!

My iPod mini, 4gb is hard to get serviced obviously because they dont make them anymore
It is as simple to get it serviced as the day you purchased it.
How is it hard to get it serviced?
How long have you had your iPod?
i get maybe 4-5 hours of battery life, maybe even 6 if im lucky
That is not good but it's not "terrible".
If you've had it less than a year, send it back to Apple to replace the battery.
thought that i might buy an attachment type accesorie that i plug into the usb port on my ipod
It's called a dock connector, not a USB port.
i found a product in the online store, that i guess you place the ipod mini on, and it gives you up to 20 or so more hours of time but then it says that you have to have a firewire port or cable?
What is it? The firewire port is on the computer, not the iPod.
If the original battery is going bad, the first thing to do is get that sorted out.

  • Is it possible to play youtube video in safari browser on WiFi in iOS devices ?

    Hello Support,
I have a query regarding playing you tube videos in iOS devices (like iphone, ipad). I can able to play youtube videos in safari browser in iphone on 3G data connection but can not play the same video on WiFi. I am facing the same issue in the youtube iOS application also. Is it possible to play youtube video on WiFi in iOS devices ? Please help me to fix this issue.
    Thanks

My understanding is that you should definitely be able to play youtube videos using a Wi-Fi network. To me, it sounds as though the issue may be more network related as the videos will work over cellular data. I have a couple questions I believe could help narrow down the exact issue:
    • Is the device able to browse to other websites while connected to Wi-Fi, or will no sites work?
    • Are there other devices (iPads, iPhones, computers, etc) that work on the same Wi-Fi network?
These are some troubleshooting articles that come to mind as well:

How are you trying to play them, in the iTunes store or the Music and Videos apps ? Downloaded and synced music and videos should be in the Music and Videos apps, and you can stop content that is only in the cloud from showing in them via Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music and Videos 'off' (under the 'show all' heading).
If you don't have your music and films/TV shows in those two apps then you should be able to download them into those apps via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app.

  • How to play video on iOS mini browser?

    Hi!
We are trying to play video (mp4 /webm) in iOS mini safari browser (aka pseudo browser) which comes up when iOS detects that there's no internet connection and there's a captive portal involved.
We have tried a number of things like various types of video codecs, video streaming methods, etc. But the video doesn't play. All the HTML5 components load properly, the Play butting shows up. But when we click not he Play button the video doesn't start.
Here are the various apple devices we tested:
    IOS 8.1.3  iPhone6 ------ Video was playing.
IOS 8.1.3  iPhone5 ----  Video was not playing.
IOS 8.1.3  iPad mini ----- player loads, play button was there but video was not playing.
IOS 8.1.2  iPad  ------- Video was not playing, but able to click on play Button, count down timer was decreasing
Out captive portal page is HTTPS.
Any insights in to how we can resolve the issue will be helpful.
    Thanks!

  • My ipod 4th generation won't play any videos on any browser and YouTube

My ipod won't play any videos on safari and every other browser I downloaded. It won't even play videos from YouTube and YouTube the ap.

Deleting the and reinstall the YouTube app

  • How to prevent Firefox from playing any kind of video in the browser instead of promting a download dialog

When i klick on a link for a video files (for example a .wmv File) it opens a new tab and starts playing it, instead of giving me a dialog what it should do with the File so that i can either download it or play it with an external player. I already set all the video files in the "options -> Applications" screen to "Always ask", but instead of asking me, it's simply playing them.
What can i do to prevent firefox from playing videos?

Tahnks, but that doesn't help me at all. As i said, i already changed all to "Always Ask", when i Filter for media i get 5 results where each says "Always Ask", so thats not the cause...
I realized yesterday that this does not happen with all formats, it happens with wmv but not with avi... but still dont know y -.-

  • Playing video from web sites

I keep getting messages staying that I need plugins to play video content from most web sites. When I go to the recomended sites to download the plugin I am unable to open the plugins on my Mac Book Pro. Is there a simple solution for this?

    Quiktime video should work fine.
For windows media, you can download and install Windows Media Player 9, incwhich case Safari will prompt you with a message that it can't play the movie in the browser window, but will ask if you want to play it in a seperate application (i.e window media player). If you answer in the affirmative, Window Media Player 9 will automatically launch and try to play the movie - and fail 50% of the time.
You can also download Flip for Mac, which adds windows media support for Quicktime. Meaning you will be able to play windows media player movies inside quicktime (embedded in web pages). The catch with this is that you have to force Safari to run under "Rosetta" - unless Flip for Mac has released a universal binary in the last few days.
By the way, some people claim that even to get the windows media player solution to work (the one where it launches separately) you also need to set safari to run via Rosetta, but this is not the case.
Long term, your best solution is the Flip 4 Mac add-on for Quicktime, but for now its a little quirky and we will just have to wait for them to update it to run universal.
