Playing music to hifi through usb port

please please help, i apolgize if this is straight forward, but im not too clued up on these things...
when i plug my ipod into my hifi through a usb port i have no choice over which songs are played, it plays the same 12 songs over and over. I have checked "on the go" listings and none of them correspond with the tracks played on the hifi?
if any one can assist id be extremely graeful, many thanks

Which labview version do you have. Up to labview 7.1 it was no USB raw communication options. I have heard it did not work well in 7.1, but from 8.x most of the errors were fixed.

Is it possible to play iTunes audio out through USB to receiver to power speakers?

I thought you should be able to.Play iTunes audio out through USB to a receiver equipt with USB mode as I can with my iPad Air, but I can,t find in preferences on my 2013 iMac any out put and I get no signal to the receiver/amp. Is it possible? What am I doing wrong?

A 3.5mm to RCA cable or adapter will work fine for stereo between the Mac's headphone jack and receiver's RCA input.

Additionally if your receiver is equipted with digital input, you could use a Toslink cable with a 3.5mm adapter on the Mac end.

Well ... the charger is the original charger and just checked and confirmed it is a 5.1V charger. How come? Next is why when i connect my iPad via original usb cable, no response from macbook pro? used to sync with iTunes now totally dead.

Do play counts update when playing music from iCloud through AppleTV?

I'm trying to figure out a way to get my play counts to update when I play music from iCloud through AppleTV. I use this method of enjoying music an awful lot, but my play counts are important to my overall music organization. Anyone know how to make this work?

The problem seemed to be with the 360. Had to unplug/replug the power source to the 360. Apparently the problem was with the 360 USB ports.

IPod Touch 4th gen after updating to IOS 6.0.1 no longer plays sound when connected to a JVC KW-AV60BT through USB port.

It used to work fine, but now when you plug in to the USB, it properly identifies the head unit in settings>General>About, and the JVC unit displays album art, track info and scrolls through music fine, but no sound comes through the speakers. I've tried to reset all settings on the iPod, I've tried the reset on the head unit, even disconnected the vehicle battery and nothing changes. I can also add that my sisters iPhone 4S on IOS 6.0.1 also performs the same when connected. I've tried my Touch in the USB port of my 2010 Chevy truck and that works fine. oh, and an MP3 player worked proper with the JVC USB port.

Playing 5thGen through USB Port / Xbox 360

My iPod is not recognized by anything other than a PC. I had an older iPod that I could plug into my Xbox 360 or a DVR cable box and I would get a "Do not disconnect" sign, and be able to play through these devices.
When i plug my new 5th gen ipod into either of these, there is no change to the screen. My xbox 360 does not recognize that I have a portable device plugged in. Again, this worked fine with my older ipod.
I have tried putting it into disc mode as well, but this doesn't change anything.
I also have downloaded the optional ipod support software for the xbox 360.
Is there something that I need to do to the ipod to get it to be recognized by a non-PC?

Interfacing of RS232 serial devices through USB ports within LabVIEW 6.1 and Windows 2000 Pro?

I have a data acqusition requirement of using 5 RS232 devices, but the motherboard i use only has two serial ports. However, it does have 4 USB ports. Does anyone know if it is possible to use these USB ports to input data from an RS232 device through a serial to USB converter?
Does LabVIEW 6.1 support this under Windows 2000 Pro?

Hi Fraser,
I just moved an app to a new laptop and had to use a USB to serial comm adapter. At first try the app did not find the comm port.
After sleeping on it, we downlaoded the most up-to-date driver for the device and upgraded VISA to the latest and gretest version.
Everything worked fine after that.

How to play music from iPod through Windows Media Player

I don't want to insult anyone's intelligence .... but just in case anyone hasn't yet figured it out, here's how to play music from your iPod on a computer that does not have iTunes installed:
On your computer, connect the iPod to iTunes and click on it's name. Then under the general tab, check "allow disk use". Your iPod will then act as a USB hard drive and will then show up as a drive in My Computer. Now all you need to do is to create a Music folder on it and then copy all your music to it!
Your iPod's USB hard drive should show up under My Computer on most Windows computers. Therefore providing the computer has Windows Media Player installed, you will be able to play all your music on it! This saves you having to bother with portable/travel speakers, some of which sound terrible anyway!

Mains lead for the computer is a bit of a problem on the bus though!

Can't play music from ipad2 through Apple TV

My ipad suddenly stopped playing music through airplay. It was working fine then I noticed the airplay icon had disappeared.I rebooted my ipad several times, made sure my apple tv was up to date and nothing. Movies and videos play fine, music not at all.

Since yesterday, many AppleTV users around the world have been experiencing the same issue. From what I've been able to tell from other postings, it's related to the Apple servers - they are being upgraded for the iCloud and many Apple TV users are getting the "Need to Authorize Computer" message when they try to play a TV show or movie. Your iTunes movie RENTALS and MUSIC should still work though.
A get-around is to stream your TV shows and purchased movies. To do that, start the movie or TV show in iTunes on your computer as if you are going to watch it on your computer. Once it starts to play, click on the little icon in the lower right-hand corner (hover your mouse around the area to get it to show up)....and then click on "Apple TV" (one of the two options the little icon gives you).....that will start it streaming on your TV. It's going to "push" it to your APple TV box rather than it being pulled there by Apple TV itself.

Thanks for the suggest Jeff. I will try that next time I have to recharge. I do not want to try it now as I am at song 500 of 1000 and do not feel like clicking the next song button 500 times to get to where I was.
What I find funny ... Mac users were making fun of PC users with Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Now Apple have made a IPod that has hold-on-hold-off-menu-select reset code. This is the first MP3 player that I need to worry about resetting. From the other posts ... I see the need to reset the IPod as standard first step. Does not bode well (in my books) for apple software quality.
