Playlist for iphone is not showing correctly in itunes

Hi, I'm trying to sync my phone (5c) (which I always find very painful) and have a number of playlists that I want to import.  I've figured out how to do that, but the problem is when I connect my phone and view the playlist in itunes, its showing a much older version and not what is on my phone currently.  Also not all my purchased items transferred over.  Any ideas?  I'm on older versions of both itunes and iOS as I've not wanted to update until this is all fixed.
Thanks
Kate

Looking at your profile above, it says you are running OS X 10.5.5, which is now about four years old.
You have not told us what type of iPhone you have, or what version of iOS it is running.  But my guess is you are far behind in the iTunes version required to see your iPhone.
Current versions of software are as follows:  iTunes 11.1.1, iOS 7.0.2, OS X 10.8.5.

iMovie app for iPhone 4 not showing up in Location Services (Settings). It apprently needs to be both viaible and turned on in Settings/General/Location Services in order for the app to discover previously taken video (Location Services correctly recognizes other apps of mine that utilize location-aware services).
I think the following is related to and caused by this problem above: iMovie App for iPhone 4 is not recognizing video clips I have made, whether they're in Photo Album, or iPhone 4 native movies that have been throughout this process: [sync with iPhoto on Mac > save to to iPhoto album > sync album to iPhone 4].

Just had this same problem. The solution is to turn Location Services on before launching iPhone iMovie.
Yes, iMovie needing GPS coordinates is crazy, as is the error message that doesn't correctly explain the problem. Looks like a bit of a rush job.

  • My iPhone is not showing up in iTunes, or Windows Explorer.

I have looked around searching and tried to uninstall everything that had anything to do with Apple and iTunes. Nothing worked. I also have gone into the computer managment and stopping and starting the apple managment and iPod service. Still, nothing worked. My iPhone will not show up in iTunes, nor Windows Explorer, when I plug it in I can hear the sound that when a device gets plugged into the computer.

It sounds like you have a bad USB driver for the phone. That software is installed with iTunes. Like I said earlier, you need to make sure to uninstall everything using that support document. That clears out all Apple software. Do that without the phone attached to the computer of course. Once you have reinstalled everything, then try and connect it. It should load the USB driver and begin to work.
Let me ask you this. How many pictures do you have in the camera roll? If you have a large number of them and  you have not imported them to the computer, there could be a corrupt picture causing you some problems. While that was known in the past to cause syncing problems, I thought that was fixed. If after you uninstalled iTunes the phone was recognized as a camera, I suggest importing the pictures and then deleting them from the camera roll and try the process all over with uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. See if that helps.

replacement iphone does not show up on itunes and I cannot sync

You can't have an iMac PPC (PowerPC) if you loaded Snow Leopard.  iMac Intel are the only Macs that are compatible with 10.6.   So the first thing wrong you are doing is posting in the wrong forum, or giving us misinformation.
Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to find out exactly what you are running.  A G5 is a PowerPC.  Intel is Intel.
Also look at the operating system in that window and update your profile.
What version of iTunes do you have?
Has the iPad ever shown before on this machine?   Once we have your correct info, I'll ask a moderator move this thread.

The app game that I bought for iphone is not available in the itunes store anymore. How can I get it back on my iphone 4

If it's no longer in the store then you won't be able to re-download it - do you have a copy of it on your computer's iTunes (or on a backup) that you could sync back to your phone ?

  • TS1363 my iphone does not show up in itunes for me to sync

My iPhone 5 does not show up in iTunes so that I can sync it.  I have Windows 8.1.

    Try this
Go into the control panel, programs, add/remove programs
Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application supprt
Then go to apple.com and redownload iTunes and reinstall it and try again.
It shouldn't affect your content at all (didn't mine) but may help with iTunes seeing your device.

  • IPhone does not show up un iTunes

I just got my iPhone yesterday and when I connect it to my MacBook Pro, it does not show up in iTunes.  The computer does recognize the device because it automatically tries to get the photos off of the phone.  I have done all of the software updates and restarted the computer and phone.  I'm not sure what else to do, or if I need to update my operating system.  I currently am using 10.6.8.

If you're iPhone is connected to a keyboard or hard drive, it might not show up in iTunes. Try connecting it to the back of your Mac.
If that doesn't do it, try following along with this Apple doc -> iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

  • New MacBookPro 13": iPhone 3G not showing up in iTunes

My old MacBookPro crashed and I bought a new one. I could not save anything from the old one - (and please do not ask for my backup!)
Now when I connect my iPhone 3G it does not show up in iTunes.
What has happened and what am I to do?

When you say you have tried all the suggested steps, what have you done?  If it is being seen on another computer, I would think that the problem is with the computer you are using and not the phone.  Try using another usb port on the computer.  Then try this...

  • New iPhone 4s not showing up in iTunes...what gives???

my new iPhone 4s is not showing up in iTunes!!!  What gives???  I'm unable to sync my new phone!!!

    Same issue here:
I have iTunes installed on a PC running under Vista x64 (Windows )
Tried all the tips suggested by apple help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/itunes/#section_7
    Won't work.
Windows Vista x64 does recognizes my iPhone 4S as a Camera.
I can connect my ipod nano without problems to my PC, not my iPhone 4S
When I connect my iPhone 4S to a PC running under Win XP, connecting to iTunes works without problems.
I suspect Win Vista x64 to be the problem, but can't solve the problem!
