After reviewing several more suggestions, I found a YouTube video that described the issue and resolved it by cleaning the dock connector. I was skeptical, but I had noticed that immediatly after charging or using my dock that the audio would be back temporarily. After cleaning the dock port, the issue appeared to be resolved temporarily, but appears to have returned again. I will clean it well and then test again to see if it resolves the issue permanantly. So far this seems to have provided the best result.

Is there an adapter that lets you use iPhone earbuds with an iMac?
I have big heavy uncomfortable headphones with a mic that I use for gaming on my iMac.
I'd rather use the earbuds from my iPhone.
Is there an adapter that lets you use iPhone earbuds with an iMac?I got the splitter, (see link below), but the mic does not seem to work. Apparently, there's a difference between a mic port and a line-in port. Mic ports are powered by the computer, line-in ports are not. They expect a powered signal to come from the input device. The iMac has a line-in port.
I downloaded an app called Line-in that is supposed to give back the ability to use unpowered mics with Macs that lost the abiliy after a system update. It did not work for me. I guess my iMac never had the ability to use unpowered mics.
So I ordered the USB Stereo Audio Adapter below. It's basically a sound card that plugs into a USB port and will work with an unpowered mic. It has not arrived yet. I'll let you know how it goes.

When I am trying to upgrade my iOS version I am getting an error message saying " the iPad software update server could not be contacted", I also get an error message prior to that which says the certification of the server is invalid?
Temporarily disable any security software on the computer and try again.

I recently starting receiving the error message "Time Machine couldn't complete the backup to... An erro occurred while copying files. The problem may be temporary. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk. I have had no problems backing up my MacBook Pro 2011 to my Western Digital My Book Live through a Linksys EA4500 router until recently. I've made no major changes. I've ran a diagnosis on my back up drive with no problems. The Time Machine back up starts, but about after about 5 to 10 minutes I get the error message. I can see the shared drive in Finder. The light on the drive blinks while it starts the back up. I can see the shared folders on the networked drive. The backup process starts but for some reason it just stops. Can anyone help?
You can't repair a network volume in Disk Utility.
Backing up to a third-party NAS with Time Machine is risky, and unacceptably risky if it's your only backup. I know this isn't the answer you want, and I also know that the manufacturer says the device will work with Time Machine, and that it usually seems to work. Except when you try to restore, and find that you can't.
If you want network backup with Time Machine, use as the destination either an Apple Time Capsule or an external hard drive connected to another Mac or to an 802.11ac AirPort base station. Only the 802.11ac base stations support Time Machine, not any older model.
If you're determined to keep using the NAS for backup, your only recourse for any problems that result is to the manufacturer (which will blame Apple.) -
I can not see the maps on the iphone 6 with iOS 8.1.2
Tengo un iPhone 6 16Gb Mod. MG3C2CL/A, el cual lo actualicé a iOS 8.1.2. Al abrir la app de "MAPAS" (de Apple) no se visualizan los mapas en modo "Estándar" ni en los otros dos modos (Híbrido y Satélite). El GPS sí funciona y sí coloca el punto azul de ubicación, pero no se visualizan los mapas.
Lo mismo sucede con la app "FIND MY PHONE". Al parecer el problema se presenta con cualquier aplicación que utilice los mapas de Apple.
Tengo iPad, Mini iPad, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, y nunca he tenido este problema. He restablecido el iPhone y lo dejé toda la noche cargando los mapas, pero aún sigo con el problema.

Make sure that you're using the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.*
Cover the Home button completely. Don't tap too quickly, don't press down hard, and don't move your finger while Touch ID is scanning. Make sure that your finger touches the metal ring around the Home button.
If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the Home button or the surrounding ring. If it does, remove the case or screen protector and try again.

When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so are particularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

Then as you've tried resetting the phone, the next step is to restore it from the latest backup. If that doesn't work, restore it as new, and if that doesn't work take it to Apple.

All the new Apps don't support my iPhone 3G IOS 4.2.1, and that is the last version to iPhone 3G. Why Apps like Whatsapp, Facebook and others require IOS 4.3 while 3G don't have that version?
You can give away or sell the 3G, and buy a current iPhone. The 3G is over 4 years old. Technology moves on.

If you re-install the app all your groups will be gone, and you will have to ask them to add you again.
I have issues when more than on message was sent by the same user. If I have only one message, it opens fine.
I didn't like the new iOS 8.1.3, besides the whatsapp issues, it messed up all my information, and also, I have to download all my purchased musics again.
How can I downgrade to the last version?

If you are asking how to download an older version of the iBooks app, download it to iTunes on your computer, and once it has downloaded open the Purchased section in the App Store on your iPhone. Tap on the app and you should be prompted to download an older, compatible version.
