Please Help - Can Not Install Flash

This is not about downloading or uninstalling,this is about getting flash installed.
I have a Power Mac G4 with 10.5.8 I was trying to install the latest version of Flash Player and it did not work.
I used uninstaller,then downloaded - install_flash_player_10_osx.dmg.- Everything went fine until the end. I got a - The following install step failed:run postflight script for plug in.
Then I downloaded - flashplayer10_1r102_64_ub_mac.dmg - opened it,right clicked on it and went to "Show Contents" then "Resources" and tried installing - Adobe Flash Player.pkg. I got a - You cannot install PlugIn on this volume. A newer version of this software already exists on this volume. Even though I used uninstall to get rid of all Flash beforehand.
So now any website that need flash player I can not use.I have looked all over this web site for an answer.Please help me get flash player reinstalled,the lattest version if possible.

Please help - can not install modem drivers

I recently installed an external hard drive. For some reason that seems to have erased the Westell 6100 modem set up/ drivers. I tried re-installing using the Verizon cd, but when I click account set up I get a message that I do not have administrative privileges. I checked and I am in fact still the administrator. Any thoughts on how to fix or why installing the back up drive would do this? I know my DSL connection is still good because wifi is working. This is on a MAC computer. I called Verizon which was a joke.

By what you said, it sounds like you are using some sort of Wireless NAT router.
If you are using a Wireless NAT router to handle the public IP like I suspect, you do not need to install any drivers for that Westell 6100 modem.

I can not install flash player activeX

Hi, For some reason I had to uninstall Flash Player Plugin Istaller Active X and Flash Player. Although he has performed all procedures and automatic aid two days have passed and I can not install the Active X control As part of the 'install it I get a notification saying actual words (translated from Italian into English):
The Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is not attempting to install the latest. Visit http://......................player_it to get the latest and most secure.
This message appears just downloading from the site recommended and everything is really frustrating. My OS is VISTA64x Home Premium and the problem persists on both IE8 IE8 x64 x32.
Also stress that I have not installed any ActiveX flash player so why do I feel that I try to install the version that is not especially since the most recent discharge from the link that that message would you recommend?
I hope someone is able to say once and for all how to solve this problem.

Hi, glad that worked for you. Also thanks for the explanation as how you came about this. Yes, from my understanding any Install of the CS5, even a trial version Installs the 10.1 (beta/prerelease) versions. It is not clear to me or others why the 10.1 was used in the CS5 instead of the latest version (10.0.45.2). My only guess is that the 10.1 is very close to being released as a shipping version (final release) to the public. The 10.1 had a target date of the first half of 2010. Perhaps that was the reasoning. This is just my opinion:-)
As I said, many users are having this problem, not just with the CS5, but they Install the 10.1 thinking that will solve whatever problem they may be having with the latest version.
Your thread is very helpful for other users that may be having the exact problem that you were. For this reason if you marked your thread as answered, they would read it first.

My husband has downloaded Adobe Flash Player 10 to his user account and everything seems to work properly, but I can not seem to get it to work on my user account. I have tried to download it and it always says failure to install. I also get an error:failure to register message. I don't know much about computers so any help/ideas would be apprieciated.

Can not install flash player on Mac

I was informed by shutter fly that I needed to update flash player. After a couple of hours and several different attempts I was unsuccessful. I have since uninstalled flash player and tried to re-install to no avail. I am running OSX 10.9.5 and safari 7.0.6. When I run the regular install from website I click on the install now tab (step 1 of 3) and then am taken to another page that says initializing with a long blue bar (step 2 of 3). Very briefly am I then presented with some instructions to go to download folder, etc. I have tried this probably 50 times and can never read the instructions fast enough. It then takes me to a black screen. I have also tried the offline option and it also takes me to a black screen. I have checked my download folder and there is never anything in there related to flash player. Please help!!

I have a Mid 2009 Macbook Pro 13 with no restore disk; it has OS 10.8.4 I believe there is something wrong with the OS due to I can not install flash player to view Youtube videos and the when we plug in a Bose headset the sound out will work sometimes

When trying to view some youtube videos; a window would pop up saying "it needs adobe flash player is required for video play back get the latest flash player" but after downloading the file and during installation would have errors and will not installed.....tried to reboot and install again.....but still the same.
The othe thing I had noticed is when using a good Bose headset with mic the sound output would noticed the headset and then switch from headset to Internal speekers and headset.....thinking that there might be something wrong with the plug in port of the computer or the headset.....the headset works with no issues on my iPad so there must be something wrong with the computer.....tried to move the plugin around the port but no change....while the headset is plug in can hear a short clicking noise and the sound would get lost and back again......but with nothing plugin to the port there is no issue with the sound or mic.

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

Can not install Flash 10.1 via Active Directory GPO

Starting with the 10.0.45.2 update, we moved to install Flash via AD GPO using the instructions in the admin guide. We are doing zero custom configuration of Flash with this method, just setting up a Computer based GPO install linking to the downloaded and shared MSI installer from Adobe. For the install of 10.0.45.2, this ran with out a hitch. Setup the GPO ran it in a test OU and then on to production and all the pc's were updated just like it should work
Trying to do the same thing with 10.1.53.64 flat out does not work execpt on a system you have manually uninstalled flash on first, then if you have the GPO load the 10.0.45.2 Flash, that works, then if you follow up with removing the GPO from the OU and adding a new 10.1.53.64 GPO to the OU, the pc will uninstall 10.0 and install 10.1 correctly as your would expect it to do. It will not do this on our deployed systems.
On our deployed systems with the currently installed 10.0.45.2 will not uninstall cleanly when the new installer runs via GPO, nor will it uninstall cleanly if the install computer is moved out of GPO scope as it is configured to do. The GPO attempts to do so but the installer fails with 1603 errors.
Does anyone have a workaround to cleanup the current installs so that 10.1 can be installed? We just don't have the time to hit 100+ desktops to update Flash.

Just to make sure: have you seen that there is a new Admin Guide for 10.1 at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/flash_player_admin_guide.html ?
One thing about the 10.1 installer is that it fails if any browsers are running; I don't know if this is also true when using GPO.

I can not install Flash Player with W7 64 bit and IE9

I recently had a virus on my PC. Passing the Avast antivirus has had to delete some registry and since FP is not working in IE9. If it workd with Chrome.
The OS is W7 64 bits. I uninstalled IE9 several times and I have reinstalled. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled over 30 times FP and still not working, but no errors are detected in the discherge and installation.
The problem is that in the IE 9 configuration tool "Currently loaded add-ons" in "Shockwane Flash Object" appear Light Grey both options "enabled" and "disabled"

I followed your instructions and I created a new administrator account in Windows7.
From this new administrator account properly installed Flash Player and it works.
As for the old administrator account does not work, I have to check that may be happening in Windows 7.

Please help - Can not use stored procedure with CTE and temp table in OLEDB source

I am going to create a simple package. It has OLEDB source , a Derived transformation and a OLEDB Target database.
Now, for the OLEDB Source, I have a stored procedure with CTE and there are many temp tables inside it. When I give like EXEC <Procedure name> then I am getting the error like ''The metadata could not be determined because statement with CTE.......uses
temp table.
Please help me how to resolve this ?

you write to the temp tables that get created at the time the procedure runs I guess
Instead do it a staged approach, run Execute SQL to populate them, then pull the data using the source.
You must set retainsameconnection to TRUE to be able to use the temp tables

Can not install Flash due to Lack of Permission

I have tried everything under the sun to install updates to flash and it always give me a lack of permissions error message. I have tried everything. I have Windows 7. I set up an administrator acount, disabled security software, tried to run as administrator from the icon etc.... No luck. I need help.

Got my lovely new Zen touch 2 days ago and so far have been able to do NOTHING with it!
Plug my Zen in via USB and my computer recognises it no problem. However if I try using Nomad or Media player to import files the player is not detected.
Belei'ved there was a problem with the drivers so I've tried to reinstall the software which came with it, tried updates from the internet, and also manually through device manger. All I get is that now software was found on my computer.
I know u go a lot of problems from newbies on her but I would be SO grateful for any help. I am very frustrated with it and just want to get listening.
Am using windows XP and is Zen version .0.03

i got my zen touch 2 days ago as well. what i did before i plugged mine into the computer i installed all the software first. I installed everything they had except adobe acrobat. after it was done I restarted the computer, plugged my zen touch into the power source and plugged in the usb. worked like a charm. WMP0 recognized it after the 2nd time I hit sync. I don't recommend WMP0 because it said alot of my files needed "conversion" when they were all mp3 and fine. then it just skipped them and uploaded maybe 600 out of about 800 songs. Go with mediasource, should work. Good Luck!

URGENT PLEASE HELP - Can I install BOTH panther and tiger?

Hi,
I recently upgraded to Tiger only now to find out that some software I use is only compatible with Panther. I really like the whole Tiger experience and am therefore very hesitant to switch back to Panther.
I understand that I might be able to somehow partition my hard drive so that I am able to run both Tiger and Panther (I have no idea how to even go about doing this...I'm a bit technically unsavy).
ANY help you may be able to offer is HIGHLY appreciated.

To partition your hard disk, restart your machine from a Mac OS X install disk and open the Disk Utility when you are able to. Select your hard disk in the list of disks, click Partition, and set up the partition structure. Confirm that you want to partition the hard disk; doing this will erase everything currently on the hard disk. You will need to create one partition for each version of Mac OS X that you want to run; a Mac OS X boot partition must be in either Mac OS Extended, Mac OS Extended (Journaled), or UNIX file system format.
