If your photos are in iPhoto or on your computer, then they are not lost. If you delete them from the iPad you have a major problem. You can check this out: iPad Data Recovery - Undelete & Rescue Lost Files from iPad.

I deleted these files from the download and Ireally went to far.
If they are still in the trash, in other words you did not empty (delete) the trash, just double click on the trashcan icon & a window will open showing everything in the trash. Drag the items you want out of the trash.
If you emptied the trash, do not use your computer as the "deleted" items will be overwritten. It's possible you can recover by using any one of the following 3rd party data recovery utilities:

Can anyone help? I have by mistake deleted all of my photos on my Mac. I want to transfer the library from my iphone 4 or my ipad back to my Mac.
There is no syncing process to move synced photos from an iOS device back to a computer.
If you have only a small amount of photos you can email them to yourself.
There are third party applications available online, some free and some at cost that will pull pictures off your device and back to the computer if your number of photos is great.
In the past I have user PhoneView with great success.

If you have deleted all the photos from your iPhone you can't get them back. The only place they might exist is if you backed them up to iPhoto if you have a Mac. If you have iCloud and Photo Steam enabled, then the last 100 photos would be saved in your Photo Stream.

I have a iPhone 5. In usage, it says i have 2.1 gigs used because of photos and camera. I have deleted all my photos via iPhoto and now reset the phone back to factory settings in order to try to solve this problem, to no avail. Both iTunes and the phone say that 2.1 gigs are being used, even though the phone now has nothing on it. What is going on?
Yeah it works fine over wifi the problem is when I try to use it over my 3G. It's really stressing me out now.

Based on your post it sounds like you would like to sync your iBooks content with your computer. I have located an article that may help you in this situation. While you can sync this data with your computer you can also use the sharing button to send PDFs using various sources:

My iphone storage is full due to my large photo library. As I want to go on taking more photos, if I back up my phone to icloud, can I then delete all my photos from my iphone to make room for new photos? Or will the next time I back up lose all those previously backed up as it is a 'new' set of data?

As you are clearly aware, it is important for you to have backups of your important data, including all of these photos you are currently keeping on your iPhone. While it is possible to use iTunes or iCloud to do backups of your iPhone, the problem becomes how to access those backups if you have deleted the photos from your iPhone. Once you have done the backup and then removed the photos from the iPhone, the only way to access the photos is by restoring the backups to the phone. On your computer, go to iTunes and then the iTunes store and the App Store. In the right panel there's a "Purchased" link. Go there and redownload the apps you want.

Connect to you're laptop. If you are using Windows:
Click "File Explorer"
Click "Computer"
Click the iPhone
Find "Camera Rolll"
Select all of the photos and delete them.
For Mac:
No idea how macs work but it should be something like the instructions for Windows :-/
As far as Photo Stream, they will automatically be deleted after 30 days and they do not take up iCloud space so you have nothing to worry about.

If the photos were in your camera roll when you last backed up, restoring the backup should recover them. Restoring an iCloud backup requires first erasing your phone. If you have any newer data on your phone since the backup that you want to keep, you'll need to save that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup. Sign into your iCloud account and choose your last backup to restore to.
Make sure you phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish. -

Photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync process cannot be deleted direct from the iPhone. These photos are removed from your iPhone the same way - via the iTunes sync process.
Photos in the Camera Roll can be deleted direct from the iPhone. With the Camera Roll selected, select the icon at the top right. Select the photos you want to delete followed by selecting the Red delete button at the bottom right. -

Looks like your syncing pics on your computer to your phone. to remove it when your phone is sync to itunes, uncheck sync in the photos tab.
