Please help identify a license plate from photo...

Hi all. I'm trying to help out a friend who was in a motorcycle accident identify the car that hit him. The police didn't get any info from the woman who hit him before she left the scene. All he has to go on is a camera phone pict taken by a passer-by. As you can see from the photo, the accident was fairly serious. The car in question is the white car parked at the curb on the right (the woman that hit him is walking to the driver door). I tried my best with no luck, but I thought maybe this community would have more luck. Any help is appreciated...thanks.

When the Time Capsule disk starts to become full, Time Machine will automatically delete the oldest backups first to make room for new backups.

1 - the iPhoto application is an application and does not hole your photos - your photos are in the iPhoto library an dour normal daily backup will back them up so your photos are safe
2 - what exactly does the error message say? You probably need to reinstall the iPhoto application form the original source
3 - note that no version of iPhoto comes with any OS - iPhoto comes with all new Macs but not with any OS and most OS versions can run many different versions of iPhoto

There is no need to transfer anything.
Update the device via iTunes or Over the Air... no content on the device should be affected.
If the device is used as designed and regularly backed up to iCloud or iTunes on the computer, should anything go wrong it can be restored.

Need help clearing up an image of a front license plate from a break in at my office

I had a break in at my office and got a video of the car and front plate. Unfortunately Dropcam's quality is not great so the image is a little blurry. I'm hoping someone on this forum can help me clear it up. I've tried various filters in Photoshop but can't make it out. Please help! We've been broken into twice and this guy just came back for a third time. If you want the video PM me.

Well, this is about as good as I could get it. I "upsized" by 400%, then used smart sharpen and part of a technique used by retouchers - frequency separation.
Dot not quote me, but it could be 65FZ51E.

Can someone please help me to identify a peice of hardware. On The front it says Digital Data Storage, there is the number 3 as well and underneath it says model # 611. I know its a type of storage device but i cant find any documentation. If someone could help i would be very grateful

It is a DDS3 tape drive in a type 611 chassis shell.
If I recall correctly, that chassis shell is also referred to as a Unipak.
You could use if for making backups of your filesystems.
It will be a Single-Ended SCSI device, so you'd need a SCSI adapter card to make it work.
The mechanical components of the tape drive were actually from HP.
(there are only two or three tape drive manufacturers, who make them for everyone)
Each DDS3 tape cartridge can hold approximately 12GB of information; more if file compression software is used.
I cannot give you links to Sun references for that entire assembly,
access to that portion of the SSH requires a service contract,
but <u>this link is for the drive mechanism</u>, itself.

Please Help! Trouble sending email from Apple Mail to PC-users

When sending email in RTF format from Mail to PCs, we have som trouble which I havent found out how to solve:
1) the PC user gets a scrambler email, in which some of the text is like "chinese". Illegible! This seems to happen especialle with PDFs attached.
2) Graphics or pictures we wish to appear directly in the mail is not visible to the receiver, but is only included as attachments.
I know most mail encoding problems can be avoided if we send mail i the "old" simple text format. But we wish to send mails in which our company logo appears in the signature, and sometimes we send graphics and pictures that we wish to be seen directly in the mail (and not as attached files only).
I have set the preferences so that mails as standard are send in RTF format and attachments are send in the "windows friendly" mode.
What really irritates me is that we have more success sending PC friendly mails from Entourage. But for two other reasons we wish to use Mail instead of Enrourage (Entourage has more crash downs/"broken" database issues. And we use Plaxo which does not sync with Entourage)..
Could some of you Please help or direct me to helpfull info?

Your OS detail provided indicates you are running 10.3.9 but you posted in the Mail & Address Book - Tiger discussions.
1) When you say PC user, more than likely the PC users reporting this problem are using Outlook for their email client since Outlook has always had problems with Mail's RTF and sometimes severe problems depending on the version used by the recipient. Using Plain Text for message composition will resolve this but check this link for an alternative.

2) All Mail.app versions prior to Tiger Mail (2.x) do not support composing in HTML. RTF with Tiger Mail is HTML but Tiger Mail does not include an HTML composer/editor.
The Mail.app displays all photo/image and single page PDF attachments inline or viewed in place within the body of the message by default which cannot be turned off. This is not the same as being embedded which cannot be done with any Mail.app version directly regardless. Depending on the recipient's email client and available settings, such attachments may appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message when the message is opened by the recipient (as when receiving such attachments with the Mail.app) or as attached files only which must be opened separately to be viewed for which the sender has no control over.
The same in reverse. Photo/image attachments to a Windows Outlook message appear as attached files only when the message is sent but when sent to a Mail.app user, such attachments will appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message when the message is opened which the Windows Outlook user has no control over.
The company logo included with your Signature is likely appearing as an attached file to the message only but how the logo appears when opened by the recipient depends on the recipient's email client.
The only thing the Windows Friendly Attachment option does is remove the Apple resource fork for attached files which are invisible to fellow Mac users.

Please help! Old dates on new photos?

I recently backed up my iphotos to disk(CD) as a precaution prior to upgrading to Snow Leopard. It appeared everything went smoothly however I'm noticing when I go into my "2010" Library, where all my photos were previously automatically organized by month/date, that the last 5 months now show "2004" as I scroll through. Even when "Get Info" on a photo that I took in December of 2010, it shows June 04, 2004.
My iphoto Library doesn't even start until 2006, which is when I got this iMac. And I now have an "Early Photos" in my Library that I don't believe was there before.
I can now only view photos from November and December 2010 when I go to the "Last 2 Rolls" or when I view the entire Library that has all the years. But even when I view all years, they are completely disorganized...2008 photos are mixed in with 2006 photos, etc. I'm considering upgrading to iPhoto 11 through the iTunes App store but I want to get my current photos back to the organized fashion they were in prior to my back-up to disk, which seems to be when the problem occured. Please help. Thanks!

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
