Hello. I just recently bought an Ipod nano and I'm trying to install Itunes into my computer for the first time. I keep getting an error message saying "The folder path "Program Files" contains and invalid character".
Please please help me I've tried almost everything. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you for reading.

Generally i found this thread because i've also got troubles with coax output my problem is in choppy sound with scratches and clipping in Windows 7, when i try to play Dolby Digital or DTS audio in movies or even test sounds from speaker control panel. In win xp all works fine - and in win7 only pcm stereo can normaly being output.
I try with different drivers (official and from daniel) and nothing helps...
yep...bios of my motherboard was configured to lower CPU ratio and voltage when idle (C1E option). I turn this option off and all works fine now) -
please help i am going off my mind since i updated my iphone 4 when i go to sync it tells me it can not be used as it requires 10.6.3 or higher
my mac is running on 10.6.8 and i upgraded my itunes to 10.5 everything seems to be in place but the phone is not even being recognised in
devices although it does come up in iphoto if anybody can help i would be very grateful.You have answered your own question:

Please Help. Itouch Keeps Losing Charge
I have bought my wife an Itouch for her birthday. I have set it up on her PC with Itunes, added music and downloaded some TV shows and fully charged the player. I then turn it off by holding the little button at the top and when the red slider comes up, slide it to the right and power goes off.
When I turn the Itouch on either one or two days later, the battery is dead and it needs fully charging again.
Am I doing something wrong?? Am I not shutting it down properly?
Please help. ThanksNo head phones at all at this stage so it can't be that. All I have done is connect it to the computer, go into Itunes and add some songs and films ready to give it to her for her birthday.
When I charge it, I charge if fully until the little symbol in the charging box changes from that lightning symbol to the fully charged symbol.
I have given the Itouch to my wife today, a day early so she can play with it all day and see how the battery copes.

On 13th September, I called BT to advise them of a house move. They took my new address, agreed a switch over date of 31st October and sent me an acknowledgement with an order number (BTCM0ZZ04*********).
On the 24th October, they told me the previous occupier had not disconnected their line and the order had therefore failed. I spoke to the previous occupier who told me they had disconnected though it took several calls to BT before it was done.
BT suggested the order be replaced, so they did that (VOL012-***********). The 31st October came and went and the phone, whilst it has dial tone, won't make or receive calls. The online order tracking just says 'We are currently investigating your Line order with our suppliers and will keep you updated with any progress.'.
I called BT today (and spent more than 2 hours on the phone) to find out the line had been 'failed' by OpenReach due to a postcode mistmatch even though the postcode on the order is 100% correct. I spoke to the 'Order Management Team' who said that it had been corrected and that a new order would definitely go through, so they bounced me back to the home move team.
The home move team told that my line at my now old address had been disconnected - therefore I have no active phone line, am no longer a customer, and cannot be dealt with by the house-move process and I'd have to order a brand new line.
I did that, and am now being told that there is no BT line at this house (even though the last occupier was a BT customer and I have dial-tone), and that I would have to have an engineer visit - the first slot available being the 2nd December!!!
I can't help but feel that someone is missing something simple and they can flick a switch and enable the line. And if they can't do that, I think I should be given priority for an engineer to come out given I started this process two months ago to make sure everything was done in time.
Anyone have any suggestions? I seem to get nowhere calling the 150 number.I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.

Please HELP! I am Losing Apps systematically!!
This is a bit strange. I have used Macs in one form or another for the last 15 years. I am familiar with them. I have never encountered this problem...or heard of it.
1) About a month ago Safari randomly stopped working. By that, I mean when I try to launch it, it bounces once in the doc and then quits. No error message, nothing. I tried reinstalling safari, nothing. No big deal though because I mainly use Firefox. I forgot about it.
2) Fast forward one month. I take delivery of my new iPhone. I sync it via iTunes and all is well. Several hours later, I went to sync more music to the iPhone and when I plugged it in, iTunes quit with an error "l;askdjfl;4eur03w9u8r" or something like that.;) Anyways, no big deal. I try to relaunch iTunes, but it won't open, just like the safari problem.
3) BAM! My apple Mail quits unexpectedly too. Same problem. Won't open. Okay.
4) I download a fresh copy of iTunes. I double click the package to launch the installer. Lo and behold, my installer bounces once in the dock and quits. No error, nothing. I can't install anything!
What is happening with my computer?? I tried a disk repair, deleting old .plist files, and those usual tricks aren't helping. All of my music is fine. It will play via quicktime, so, I haven't lost that...yet.
What are my options? What is the cause of this problem? And, how the heck do I fix it? I have had to use iTunes on my Compaq laptop and that just isn't acceptable.

HELP! I'm losing my mind - Audigy 2 ZS digital coax output to receiver
I've very close to throwing my Vista media center PC out the window trying to get my Audigy 2 ZS to output a digital signal to my home theater amp/receiver. I've read as much as I can find on the subject and, as far as I understand it, the digital out 3.5mm mini jack on the back of the ZS is actually a multi speaker output designed for connection to Creative speakers, but to output a digital signal to my amp I need to plug in a 3.5mm mini jack to RCA connector then connect my digital coax cable to it and the other end to the amp, so I bought this little guy to connect to the ZS and my RCA coax cable: http://www.rakuten.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=263718980
Then I went to Vista's Sound-Playback settings and disabled the onboard sound (which was working perfectly thru the amp via its SPDIF digital optical output) and made the "SDPIF Out Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM)" the default device. I had already installed Daniel's excellent driver/software pack 5 for it so I have the latest drivers and control software. Then I went to the Creative Audio Console and selected "SPDIF Passthrough (Dolby Digital / DTS Digital Out)". Then I did a reboot for good measure.
In the meantime I set my amp to the Digital Coax 1 input into which I'd plugged the coax cable from the ZS's digital out port. When I rebooted and played music I get the green bars flashing next to SPDIF Out in the Playback tab of Vista's Sound settings indicating that the sound card is outputting an SPDIF signal, but don't hear anything out of the amp. Interestingly if I change the "Digital Output (PCM) Sample Rate Setting" to 96Khz in the Creative Audio Console my amp recognizes the change and flashes 96Khz which makes me think there is at least some information coming down that coax (I then switched it back to 48Khz).
The most annoying thing about all this is that my crappy onboard mobo sound has a digital optical output which connects directly to the amp and just works immediately without any messing around - when my amp receives a DTS or Dolby signal it says it's receiving that type of signal and pushes it out to my 5.1 speakers nicely. And this ZS card is supposed to be an upgrade to give me more functionality but I can't get a peep out of it (digitally), although the analog speaker outputs do work on the ZS so it's not a completely faulty card and actually makes me think I'm probably just missing something very basic.
I'd be very grateful for any suggestions/ideas before my media center ends up as a new modern art feature in my yard.

Okay so this question isn't about games, but under the category iPod, this was the only one that had the option to post a new topic. Seriously
It seems the issues with my iPod are endless. It freezes. It clicks and gives me a sad face. It restarts. It freezes. It restores and erases everything. It freezes. It is driving me insane. So I went to this link http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983 that talks about restoring and updating your iPod and it says you have to plug into your computer to restore it, or whatever. But I can't do anything without it clicking and sad face-ing. I can't put it on the charger (so I don't know if the battery is dead or not), and I can't plug connect it to the USB cable to connect it to the computer. It just clicks and whirs and gives me a sad face.
It is kind of old so maybe it's just time to get a new one. Somebody please rescue me, I'me losing my mind with this thing.Just FYI - the forums all have a "Post New topic" button but you have to hit on the subcategory under the main one. This one doesn't have a subcategory.

I'm having troubles installing 10.6.3 on my Macbook Pro, PLEASE HELP
I'm getting the error that seems to happen to a lot of people: "(volume name)" can't be used because it doesn't use the GUID Partition Table scheme.
When I go to change the Volume Scheme in Disk Utility it's grayed out and says Current, and the Options button is also grayed out, so I can't touch either.
So I try to boot the machine using the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 disc by holding the "c" key during start-up (bong sound) and it spits the disc out and boots normally... is the SL disc not a boot disc as well? I don't care if i have to format the hard drive, I just want it to work with the newer operating system(s). I'm just worried I'll format my hard drive, go to boot with the disc, and it'll pop it out again.
Please help. I'm losing hours at work trying to get this thing updated to Mavericks via Snow LeopardDo a backup before proceeding.
Try putting the 10.6.3 disk in the computer. During a restart, hold down the option/alt key, select the disk, and see if you can boot from there. If so, select the language, then go to the Utilities menu, and select Disk Utility. Check to see what partition scheme you have by selecting the hard drive.
If you don't have GUID, you are going to need to erase the drive and reformat, which will cause you to lose all your data. Did I mention doing a backup?
If you do have GUID, run Disk Utility repair disk and repair permissions. You may have to do this more than once. Then try in install 10.6.3.
If successful, use the combo update to get to 10.6.8 and then run Software update until there are no more updates.

The installer has a mind of its own. You will almost
certainly need to
run the cs3clean script to remove all traces of the
Dreamweaver trial
version. Unfortunately, this will also remove the rest of the
suite, but
once your machine has been cleaned, the suite should install
correctly.

I had the trial version of Xcelsius 2008 & created some dashboards with the trial. I then purchased the full version of 2008 and installed it on the same computer. I opened my documents that I had created previously with the trail, and I'm not able to edit the dashboard like I normally should be able to. When I double click on my componets, I don't get the normal properties tabs with all of the editing options...

i ran the disk.. fresh out of the box. it seemed to install smoothly until the last step. i got an error message "303 - internal error" it prompted me to restart my pc, and retry with the disk. , it still doesn't work. i've read so many how to's and fix it's about this router, and i cannot get mine to work. could someone please help me before i lose my mind? i just bought this an hour ago, and thought a new router would be nice...

Can someone please help me!!!!!! I have been using mail for 8 months, then all of a sudden I started to get this error "The SMTP server “plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com” rejected the password for user “[email protected]” I have check all passwords, and settings.. still won't accept it.. I am not sure what I am doing wrong or miss.. won't send and now I am not receving my mail from Gmail either, and I just set it up// losing my mind.. not sure what to do... and the people at the Apple store here not fully understanding as.. I would do the following:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Try removing the com.apple.mail.plist file from your /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Don't delete it but rather put it somewhere else such as your Desktop. Make a backup of your /Home/Library/Mail/ folder just in case.
Then reconfigure Mail. Your accounts should still be there so nothing you have stored on the computer should be lost. -
