PLease Help! WMV issues

Hello,
When I Get Media and bring in a WMV file to any preset, the top half of the video file is black and the bottom half is fine. Working in PE7. Any ideas why this is suddenly happening?

IPhone 5 brightness permanently reduced (Please help, voltage issue??)

I really need someone with high expertise to help me. Obviously i appreciate any help given but please dont say point less comment like reboot the phone or turn autobrightness off.
Here is the issue:
I have had several iPhones, right from the first to the 5. Lucky me. But i have always had the same issue. The screen brightness is significantly lower than any other iPhone that I compare it to.
Now i have the iPhone 5, if i compare it to anyone elses the brighness is much lower. Autobrightness is off. When i first got the iPhone the brightness was like everyone elses.
i only use the official charger. I think there may be a problem with the voltage or the electricity in my home as all my iPhones have had this problem. Im not sure when the change happens but the something is damaging the backlight of my iPhones. No idea what.
Please can some one with the same issue or knowledge of physics please help me. I dont want to keep having this issue. I also have a Macbook pro and am fairly sure its happned with this also but have no means of comparison as I dont know any one else with one that comes to my apartment.

The iPhone 5 has full Warranty. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple Store. Show the Genius the problem and they will replace your iPhone 5 with a perfect iPhone 5 without problems. If some of iPhone 5 have this problem, it does not matter, Apple makes millions of iPhone 5, some are going to have a problem. When the Genius gives you the new replacement iPhone 5 test it out in the Apple Store before you leave, so you are happy and do not waste anymore of your time.

Please Help - Same issue for years - Mail rule switches itself!

This issue has plagued me with Apple Mail for years and I would like to finally resolve this to keep my sanity. Please help!
We have used the MobileMe family account (5 pack) for awhile and both my wife and I have our own unique email address that is set and we also have one combined account that we use as well. I have some rules in place to help keep the mail organized. Often we will get 1 e-mail for both of us (i.e. a message about a group we are both in or a sports team for our children) - it is sent to our joint account and then the Mail rule will handle putting them in both our boxes.
There is the one rule that keeps changing itself! It's maddening. Here is what I want to occur:
1. I get an e-mail to our joint MobileMe account.
2. The rule will move that specific message to my folder and then place a copy of that message in my wife's folder.
That's it. That's all that I want it to do.
Here is what I put in the mail rule description to make that happen:
IF "any" conditions met:
"Any recipient" is equal to "joint account e-mail address"
Perform following actions:
"Move message" to "my mailbox"
"copy message" to "her mailbox"
"Stop evaluating rules"
That's it. Here is where the problem ensues. This rule will actually work correctly for 1 or 2 times. Then what happens is somehow this rule actually changes itself and when I open up the rule description it will actually show:
"Move message" to "my mailbox"
"Copy message" to "my mailbox"
Ugh. So I end up getting two copies of the same thing and have to physically move it over. It seems so simple and I can't understand why it keeps switching itself.
I've had the issue ever since we had our family account and back to the Tiger operating system. I would love to get this fixed for good!

I may well have missed something, but it seems to me that the command to Copy to her mailbox should come before the command to Move to your mailbox. That way the source remains available until the final Move step. I cannot say why the Rule construction would change by itself, but I can see the possibility of confusion if the Move comes before the Copy.

Please help - boot issues, os issues HELP

so i came home after three months and started up my mac. i was having internet issues so i restarted the mac. ever since the mac has been tremendously slow, taking sometime 15 minutes to boot. after that every application runs absurdly slow. i searched the forums and found the suggestion to boot into open firmware and reser pram and nvram.
so i did that. after that the os x boot screem came up and the status bar seemed to be moving faster, but it gets all the way to the end of the bar and then just hangs.
i know have the tiger install dvd in the drive and am trying to reboot, because i saw the suggestion to run a hardware test and a disk repair but i cannot boot to the dvd either.
please HELP! i love my mac and am going crazy without it, having to use the horrible dell laptop my work gives me right now.

If your attempt to boot from Tiger DVD fails, it sounds like the directory on the disk drive is very damaged and corrupt, which can prevent booting.
Do you have a FireWire drive handy?
A backup?
You will need another drive to work from. And either a copy of TechTool Pro 4.5 or Disk Warrior probably.
You could try booting to Single User Mode (command s) and run fsck - though I suspect it will say it was unable to repair, nothing to lose - maybe.
How hard is to to disconnect the internal hard drive? or to replace it? or move it to a external FW/SATA interface case.

I updated my iphone 3g and now itunes is saying that it's restoring iphone software it's now been doing this for about 5 hours and i'm not even half way through is this normal? someone please help thanks

I had mega problems too. Try following the steps in my posting as below after creating a new user account on your computer with ADMIN priviledges also. See my posting on 20/06/2009 22:33 titled "Upgrade Error number 4 and Restore Error 1603 when going to OS 3.0 - Solved"
And turn off any antivirus and firewall software too, before doing so. In ITunes, highlight your iphone icon and then click the Restore Button on the ITunes Summary tab which seems to force the iphone into an update. Dont try using the Check for update button. Good Luck...........

Please help..Issue on getting parameter from a backend fm

I have a requirement which is to edit the ess~cod for the employee communication. I have copy out the function group ZHRXSS_COD_INTERFACE. I created my own function module ZCOD_VALIDATE and attached to the function group. My funtion module are just returning an export parameter and a table without getting any import parameter.
I have create a ZCodModel (pointing to the ECC function group) and the model class is ZCod_Validate_Output. I have done all the reimporting of the model and context binding. My question is why i still not getting any value from the function module. I tested the fm in ecc and it works well.

I got this error when i execute it? Anyway my function module does also return a table but i have yet to define a context to store it. I am just trying to get the value of the export parameter. If it success, then i can proceed to bind the table. However now, it seem getting an export parameter also giving me problems.

please help! I installed the new version of itunes and now when i try to run it, i get a message that says, "this version is corrupted or not installed properly." i'm afraid to uninstall and lose all my music.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now?

Please help - performance issues with Lr 2.3

I really hope some user/s or Adobe support members could help me with tweaks/suggestions to improve Lightroom 2.3's sluggish performance on my computer.
First of all I have read about 100 different forum topics this morning, have used the forum search extensively and I cannot find any one topic which talks about different methods for improving performance. So I really have tried to find the answer before asking for help and I have done a lot of googling to try and find some simple answers but after all this reading I am more confused than when I started out.
Let me first explain what I am experiencing and I will try and be as detailed as possible.
1 - When I browse the library it is incredibly slow rendering the thumbnail previews. I found a topic which talked about degfragging the LR catalog using sqlite and contig, I did that and it made no difference to performance.
2 - I left my machine running an entire day to render the 1:1 previews thinking this would help me with the slow thumbnail issues but it made no difference. It is however faster now when I double click and image and get the immediate 1:1 preview :)
3 - I have turned off the Automatically write changes into XMP, suggested on another topic, that made no noticeable differences to performance either.
4 - A few months ago when I was still running 2.1 I found a topic either here or on Google that told me to delete the entire previews folders and let LR recreate them from scratch, I did that back then and that did not make any difference either, turned out to be 24 hours of waste time for me.
5 - I tried changing the following settings under catalog settings (has not improved anything):
size: 2048 Pixels
quality: High
automatically discard 1:1 previews: Never
6 - The only slow performance I am experiencing in LR is the thumbnails and this slows down my workflow dramatically. Everything else in LR seems to be quite fluid and usable and fast. I notice many users have complained about the slow thumbnails issues and I was praying that 2.3 was going to sort this out.
7 - I have also noticed that when scrolling up and down the thumnail list it sometimes uses more than 1 processing core and then sometimes not and then when I stop scrolling up and down the thumbnails and leave it alone for 5 seconds suddenly all 8 processing cores spike to around 50% usage with processing "something".
8 - I have tried making my thumbnail previews different sizes, also makes no difference really, unless I go to the smallest size and then it seems ok but then it's hard to see what's going on at all with thumbnails that small.
9 - Lightroom is only using up 1.1 GB of available memory so I do no think the slowness relates to memory and I am running my memory in a proper DDR3 configuration.
10 - I have tried playing with my graphics card settings (below) but it does not seem to help no matter what I try.
11 - Overall it "seems" that Lightroom is trying to re-render thumbnails continously, I know technically this may not be true but as an end user this is how it feels to me.
My computer specifications are as follows:
Intel i7 965 Extreme Edition (not overclocked)
Intel DX58 Smackover Motherboard
6GB DDR3 Ram (not overclocked)
GEForce 9800GT Video Card (with WHQL driver)
SATA 2 1TB Seagate Drives
Windows Vista X64 (SP1)
Lightroom 2.3 X64
NEC 30" Display running at 2560x1600 resolution
The way I have LR configured on my PC is as follows:
- Program files installed on main C drive which is a 250GB partition on a 1TB Seagate Sata 2 drive with 190 GB Free space all the time.
- Lightroom catalog is on my E drive which is a 1TB Seagate Sata 2 drive
- Camera Raw Cache is set at 10GB and resides on the same E drive as the LR catalog
- My E drive has 100GB Free Space
- I have tried tweaks to the video card settings to be Lightroom spe

Thanks for the reply, I have tried changing any/all settings on the card set to performance versus quality and still it has no effect. I just got the latest video driver for the GT9800 which was released on the 3rd of March and that has no effect either. I tried loading the 32 bit version of Lightroom without any improvement to speed on the thumbnails whatsoever so that rules out the possibility of it being something to do with 64-bit.
I read an Adobe knowledgebase article saying that the Nvidia control panel conflicts with certain Adobe software but they do not say how to turn it off and I also cannot even find the answer to that on Nvidia's forums either. So I still cannot say whether or not the Nvidia control panel is the problem because I cannot disable it.
I phoned a friend this morning who is running Lightroom 2.3 on a simple Core-2 Duo machine and his thumbnails render in half the time that mine do and my hardware is top of the range stuff in comparison so you can imagine my frustration with this thumbnailing issue. My friend also has an Nvidia card 8800GT I think.
I have spent so much time on this and I am no further to a solution and this blurry thumbnail issue is seriously messing with my eyes and it does not make for a very pleasant user experience.
What concerns me is that while Lightroom is idle and the machine is idle Lightroom is not doing anything in the background like rendering thumbnails. It only starts rendering them once I scroll down a page, no doubt by design but for more powerful machines there is a lot of processing ability going unused. The thumbnails on the filmstrip render a lot faster compared to grid view but their rendering state is also not retained and once I have scrolled past 100 images and then scroll back they are all blurry again and I have to wait for them re-render all over again. All this re-rendering of thumbs is a really big waste of time.
I also noticed something else interesting this morning, I opened task manager and left it open while I was scrolling thumbnails (continuous scrolling without waiting for them to render sharp) and only one core was being used to do this processing, I tested this multiple times and left it open while I scrolled through 5000+ images and only one core the whole time was being used. Only once I stopped scrolling and Lightroom began it's rendering of the thumbnails (about 10-15 seconds after stopping scrolling) did it only then start using multiple processors, I'm not sure if that has something to do with anything and memory wise I have 4.2 GB of available memory and Lightroom is only using about 425 Mb of memory.
I have changed the size of my thumbnails to below halfway on the slider and that made only a slight difference, although now they are so small on this 30" screen that I am now suffering even more eye strain as a result.
I am busy loading LR 1.x to confirm whether any of these behaviours existed back then and will report back.

I am at Apple right now waiting on my appointment. Im typing this on their computers. Im hoping it is an easy fix. It does seem to get very very hot lately. It started up fine this morning and after about a half hour, the screen went haywire again. I was working on backing up stuff, but it never got through it all. I was able to get some documents for work on my jump drive before it went out the last time last night. It seems to be ok once it is cooled down but then after a while it starts to get hot. So we'll see what they find at my appointment.
I have applecare and its still under warranty until Feb 2011. Good thing it went out before it was Feb.
I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but I did a software update last night before everything started going haywire. We'll see what they say. I didnt have a chance to print out that article, so hopefully they know about it. I do have it in my email if they need a reminder.

Problems with the alt key and numbers, please help major issue

All of a sudden I am unable to use the alt key with any numbers, meaning I can't create hashes (alt 3) and bullets (alt 8), and others that I haven't missed yet. I've tried two keyboards, one wireless and one wired but to no avail. It seems to work fine for everything except 3 through 9.
I found somebody with the same issue beforehand:
*I have finally tracked the problem down to a problem preference file, namely this one:*
com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist
*I have no idea what it's supposed to do, but it wasn't doing it right.*
But even still, it made no sense to me, can anybody help me? This is an issue that's been disrupting everything I do on my Mac for a few days now, and not found the issue as yet.

Feel a bit silly now! Just sorted it myself, had a look around my hard drive, and deleted the com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist file, and restarted, when I started up and tested it my ¡€#¢∞§¶•ªº keyboard alt tab seemed to work!
For future reference, just do this and restart afterwards:
[YourHardDrive]>>Users>>[YourUserName]>>>Library>>>Preferences>>>com.apple.symbo lichotkeys.plist>>>Delete that>>>Restart your Mac and you've fixed it.

Please help: connection issues (ATT, Time Capsule and xbox 360 live)

I am having near constant issues with my home network, so I am hoping to tap in to the collected knowledge of the internets to help sort things out.
Main issue: daily/hourly internet disconnection. Now, my 360 wireless adaptor can't even see the network. Ugh. Basically, I am hoping someone could give me the "best" configuragtion (ie settings for network, Time Capsule, 360 and/or wireless adaptor) for my current set-up.
My set up:
LinkSys modem from ATT (in bridge mode)-->
Apple Time Capsule (router) -->
Mad Catz 360 wireless network adaptor -->
Xbox 360
I have spent some time looking through the forums but keep running into conflicting recommendations and nothing I have tried so far seems to have helped. Thanks (in advance) for the help.

So, you must have somehow reconfigured the 2wire to perform as a simple modem, even though it is a full fledged modem/router combination. I've see the 2wire, but never configured one, so I can't offer a lot of help there.
Was there a particular reason why you configured the 2wire as a bridge when you could have simply configured the TC as a bridge to work with the 2wire? In other words, the 2wire would do the PPPoE service along with DHCP and NAT.
Maybe you tried it this way and something didn't work?
We've seen a number of posts from users who are having issues with the TC doing the PPPoE service. I just wonder if you are not betting off letting the 2wire do what the ISP intended it to do.

Please help, Powerbook issues!

Sorry if this is long. Hello everyone. I am having quite the time with my Powerbook. Here is a little background information. I purchased it in August of 2004 and I have Apple Care, so everything is under warranty. For the most part my laptop has been very fast, hardly freezes, and is always very responsive. A few weeks ago I was at a friends house with my PB plugged into a wall and I am quite sure the machine overheated and froze. I wasn't able to get it to stop freezing, even after restarting at least 5 times. I turned it off and left it alone until I arrived home the next day. When I turned it on it was fine and was fine for another week. I was at this friends house again and the same thing happened. I shut it off and brought it home and it was fine again.
A few days later it freezes at home and I had to restart it. When the machine turned on it said "Please restart your computer." And I did, again and again and again, kept saying the same thing. I called the Apple support line and they had me do a PMU reset and a PRAM reset - nothing worked. We ran a disk utility from my boot disks and it found a red error in my HD that it couldn't repair. I ended up having to do an erase and install. I thought that would fix my problems, but I was wrong. The next day my machine was constantly freezing with every program I opened. The color spinning wheel shows up every time I attempt to click on anything. As you can imagine, this is qutie annoying. I ran ANOTHER disk utility and it found no errors. I've also ran a hardware test (the short version and looped the extended version) and that found no errors.
I have a friend who works for apple support and he and I tried EVERYTHING over the phone. I even replaced my 1 gig stick of ram with my original 256 stick of Apple ram, and it's still just as slow and freezing. I am really running out of possible reasons for this. If anyone has ANY possible ideas, I would appreciate it. I want to get as many answers and opinions as I can before I drop my PB off at the retail store and say goodbye to it for 3 weeks. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it very much.

To me it sounds more like the hard drive is in need of replacement and, since you have AppleCare, the best thing to do is to get the drive replaced by Apple.
The downside to a drive replacement is that you will lose all your data unless it has been backed up.

Please help, broadband issues...slow and crackly e...

I have an ongoing problem now, which has been going for over 2 weeks now.
Basically, my broadband speed is extremely slow. We are on Option 3 and apparently get around 7.5mb.
The fastest speed i can achieve at this time is 15-18 kb/s. As you can imagine, im getting quite fristrated.
Been ringing BT since it started happening, been given a multitude of replies, all of which have not helped at all.
I was promised an adapter of some sort to help improve the broadband speeds, which i am still waiting for..
The line is starting to sound crackly, but not all the time. Sometimes if we are using the internet, and the telephone goes into use, the broadband disconnects. Again, not always.
We can hardly browse the internet, it is getting so bad. BT dont seem to want to help, and to be honest, i dont think they know what they are doing half the time. Always seem to place you on hold when you ask them something..
We have 2 computers and BT Vision. Both computers use the internet for browsing, downloading and online gaming. Online gaming is getting to the point where we are unable to play, the ping gets so high.
We cannot use the BT Vision service, as the connection is just too slow.
I dont like the fact that i am paying for something i cannot use, its frustrating to say the least.
I dont know what to do now. I have tried everything. Can anyone help? Here is the details from my BT Homehub 2.0 type B.

Have you read the installation documentation? It appears that you did not take the time to do a basic level of troubleshooting. A simple Google search of the error message provides the root problem as well as the solution.
The forums are intended to be used when you have exhausted other options. Please be mindful of this and contributors time when posting further questions.

Please help! Issues with file permissions on the 'Edit' file created by LR for editing in Photoshop?

I am running a Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion. I use a Netgear ReadyNas as my storage device. I can Save, Re Save, Delete and add files without any concern on the ReadyNas from within PS or LR. However when I use the 'Edit in Photoshop" command on LR. I chose the 'Edit a copy with edits', LR creates the new duplicate 'edit' file in the same directory as the original. It opens in PS, I edit as required, however when I save the file to return to LR, I am informed that the file is locked and that I need to edit settings on file or folder, even though the settings are working for all other edits etc. I have had Netgear on this for 3 hours this evening and they cannot see any issues with the setting on the ReadyNas. Does anyone know what permissions are changed or why they are changing when the file is being created by LR?

h264 is highly compressed and might be the reason your skimming isn't smooth, it may also take a bit more time to convert. I don't have to worry all that much about space so I haven't particularly tried it and can't say whether there are any drawbacks of doing so.
If you google 'mpegstreamclip tutorials', you will see quite a few tutorials you can look at, they do tend to be specific to one task which may not exactly fit in with what you are trying to do, but looking at a few might give you a better understanding of what some options do and when to use them if at all.

There is no direct way to get a PDF document shown in the Facebook window into Adobe Reader for iOS. You need to go from (1) Facebook to (2) Safari (web browser), then to (3) Adobe Reader on iPhone (and iPad as well).
In the Facebook page showing a PDF document, tap the Share icon in the bottom toolbar.
Select "Open in Safari" from the menu that appears.
In Safari, tap anywhere in the document to show the toolbar (below the top toolbar).
Tap "Open in..." (label) in the toolbar.
Tap "Open in Adobe Reader".
Please let us know if it doesn't work for you.
