You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabilng the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Next, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account. In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials.
If possible, either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync. To do this, right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc. For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases. For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering different software availbable to assist you with this task.

I forgot my passcode for my iPod, and guessed it to many times so it got disabled.
The problem is I don't have iTunes and can't get it on my laptop, but need to restore my device. Right now on the screen it has a photo of a USB cord, an arrow, and the iTunes symbol. So, how can I restore my iPod touch without my passcode or iTunes?

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

I just bought my iPod Touch (4th Generation 8GB) from my friend and the home button doesn't work. Then, my parents took it away for about 6 months and I just got it back and I forgot my password. P.S. It's jailbroken, but the damage isn't due to Cydia. IOS 6.1 destroyed my iPod touch. How can I restore my iPod touch?
I got a push notification about the new release for ios 6.1 and I did the update. After the update my ipod cut off. I assume that is normal but every time I try to cut it on, it either gets stuck on the apple logo or goes to a multi colored screen. Is this a easy fix or do I need to buy a new Ipod?

That's a pretty clear indication that it's stolen. If the seller won't refund your money, file a claim with eBay. If that doesn't pan out, then turn it over to the police and give them all the information you have on the seller. Maybe if you tell the seller you're going to do that, they'll be more inclined to refund your money rather than face criminal charges. -

I turned my iPod off last night and when I went to turn it back on, it got stuck on the logo. I tried to reboot it but it got stuck again. I waited about 15-20 minutes before rebooting it again. It got stuck once again. I plugged it into the computer. The logo came back up but it went away and it showed that I needed to download music from iTunes. I got on iTunes and said it found an iPod in recovery mode and it needed to be restored. Before restoring, I downloaded the updated version of iTunes. After trying to restore my iPod, it said it could not be restored because of error 3194. I then turned my firewall off, opened ports 80 and 443. Nothing seems to work. If you can help. Please do. Did you ever jailbreak or mess with TinyUmbrella? Sounds like your Hosts file is mucked up and pointing the wrong way.
