Derek's right. To explain his second point more, you can mount your old Mac's hard drive on your new one and once you've done this you can simply drag your music folder over.
You can mount various ways, if you have a router and both are on your LAN network I believe u use the Go menu in your new Mac to mount your old one.
You can also use a cable directly between the two. I did this years agonwith ethernet but I bet USB or even FireWire is possible.
Once you get your music copied over, you may need to add your music into your Mac's iTunes.
Open iTunes and then select Add to Library and then find your music folder to add. You can add single songs or folders of songs or your entire folder of all songs.

Try a soft reset - press the home and power bottons and keep them pressed until the Apple logo comes on. Then see if you can access Settings.

iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.

Your music should be in your iTunes library, that is how it gets synced to the iPod. If that music is not present in the iTunes library, you will need to get a 3rd party software for the computer to get the music off the original iPod and then move it to the iTunes library to be able to sync it to the new iPod. A week or so ago, the screen on the Macbook Pro I've had for 5 years went permanently black. The screen itself still works, but it's just all black. Went from flickering/flashing to black. FireWire between the two (get appropriate 800-800 or 400-800), Target Disk Mode on the old one, appears as an external disk on the new one. Drag everything over, or use Setup Assistant if first start of new one, or plain old Migration Assistant. You really don't need a display to see a prancing FireWire icon, do you?

Hi. I've been having this problem for a while. So recently, I've made a new account for myself, since I was using my mom's user account. I don't want to keep all of my files, emails, and icloud on her user, since it's used by everyone in my family. I use iMail now because hotmail blocked my email because "Someone hacked me" and they kept it locked for all these months, and I can't give enough proof to show it was mine, since I forgot every email I've sent now.
And iMail is pretty cool, adding your own rules and stuff. Except you don't need a password to log in. I just deactivate my iMail via system preferences as a log-out, and then re-activate it as a log-in.
So, back to the question.
How can I move ALL app data from my mom's user account to my new one? Her acount also has pictures of our germany vacation. So not every file.
You see, I game on my mac mostly because steam is really complicated, using internet just to play a game that doesn't need internet and stuff.
And steam doesn't have a lot of casual games.
So I want to move my game data, save files and every little piece of application info that my games have on my mom's account to mine. I've asked this question on Yahoo answers, and all I got was an answer of "File IS data, or datum itself, You are wrong. I cannot give you an answer." -.-
I'm not experienced with terminal either, so I'll need a ton of explanation of how to use it if that's how it can be done. It really really confuses me and I'll just give up.

Logic doesn't store the majority of its data in designated library places, so you can put your session files and audio files wherever you want. If you move the location of something, say an audio file, and logic doesn't know where to find that asset, then it'll present you with a dialog box which asks you if you can tell it where you moved it to, or if you'd like it to go off and search for files of that name for you. They're all just files on a hard disk. There's only a few things which have to be stored in particular places, such as preferences or sampler instruments. Anything that isn't part of the program, you can store it wherever you want. In a session you can have for example all the live parts on one hard disk, and then all your samples on another hard disk. It's all arbitrary and can be defined by you.
So yes, you can generally keep your media library wherever you want (as far as Logic is concerned).

You can import photos to the computer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. Contacts and calendar can be synced to the computer as well to a supported application. How to transfer them from there is something I don't know, unless the new device supports getting contacts from those programs. You can also sync your calendar and contacts to gmail and then you would be able to sync them to the Droid that way. songs are in iTunes and are saved on your computer if you have them added there. However they could be in AAC version which would mean you would have to convert them for the Droid. You might want to go to an Android forum, they may have information there about how to do it, since many Apple owners have switched to Android.

I've recently purchased the new Mackbook Air 2013 model , OSX MT 10.8.4 , iTunes 11.0.5
And here's my problem, I connected my iPad to iTunes and thought all the songs
would be transfered automatically to iTunes library, but appearantly only haf of them did with iCloud icons next to the song's name.
Another thing that I noticed is that all the songs in the library are the ones I purchased on iPhone quite a while ago (I share iTunes account on both devices)
but for those recently I purchased on iPad are just not there.
So I'd like to ask you guys how to figure out this problem.
