hi i am searching for a word in a file and want to write all the text following the word upto the endof the line

this is compiling with out any bugs the thing isI don't think I beleive you. I think:
in.write(readLine());is throwing a compile time problem.

if(currentLine.equals("Early") )What does that line do?
Takes the current line, let us say "Long long ago when the earth was young", does it equal "Early". No
OK, so far so good, next line " the Earth Goddess Gaia got up early in the morning and had some corn flakes for breakfast".
Ahh, now does this equal "Early". No. Bu it does contain "early". Take a look at the API. Anything that suggests it will check if a string contains a different string?
Also "Early" and "early" have different case. So we need to convert them both to use the same case before you check. Anything in the API that looks like it return an uppercase or lowercase version of a string?
