Png/jpg images are becoming distorted when placing into Muse

Hi,
I have a problem in Muse.
I've made a logo/text in illustrator, saved for web either as png or jpg and when I placed it in Muse it right away became distorted.
Sort of, like you're using a small image and enhance it to much.
Does someone know an easy way to solve this. I'm quite new with these programs, so I'm thinking maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Best regards,
Dennis

Can you supply screenshots of your image in Illustrator and then another image with it in Muse?
If you try resizing the image in Muse you can get distortion if you don't keep the same aspect ratio in the height and width. Always best to make sure your image is the correct size in height and width before adding it to Muse or any Web editing program.

  • Help! Photoshop edited jpg color distorts when imported into Muse

Okay, so I am trying to build a photography webpage (among others) and I edit most of my photos in photoshop. All photos that I edit in photoshop and save to jpg, look great when printed, uploaded to facebook, etc. however when I import them into Adobe Muse for and put them on my webpage, the colors of the photos become desaturated and/or slightly distorted (so that they look dull). When I edit images in lightroom and save them as jpg and import them into Muse, they look fine, but colors edited in photoshop seem to mess up my photos when imported into Muse.
    What am I doing wrong?!

You are using some odd color management settings and not converting to sRGB most likely... Check your settings in PS itself and the Save for Web dialog and experiment around.

  • Photo aspect ratio incorrect when "placing" into Muse

    Hello all,
I'm attempting to place an image into an Adobe Muse page I'm building but when I go to File > Place, select my image and click where I want it on the page, the image places at a ratio much smaller than what I originally exported as.  When I stretch it to the original aspect ratio I exported it as, Muse tells me I need to resample it because I've stretched it larger than the original.  What am I doing wrong?!
    1. I export my image from Photoshop using the "Save for Web" and export the jpeg at my desired ratio: 670 x 290.
    2. I go to File > Place in Adobe Muse and click on the page but the image places at 335 x 145?
You'll notice the wireframe box on the page.  That's the size I want the picture to be and when I select the wireframe box, Muse says it's 670 x 290.  That's how I originally figured out what ratio I wanted to use for my image.
This seems to happen with any image I "place" into Muse.  Thanks in advance for any help you all can offer!

When you create a new site, you can choose the HiDPI option for high resolution output. This causes, that all images are placed in half of their size in order to obtain an adequate resolution on high res monitors. If you scale these images to their original size, they don't meet the requirements of HiDPI any more and you get the upsample warning. You can control this behaviour in "site properties". Just look here:
Adobe Muse Help | Creating High Resolution websites
Edit: A look at your screenshots confirms, that you have switched on the HiDPI option: Behind the assets you can see the label "2x".

  • My RAW images are becoming corrupt when opening with Adobe Bridge, showing very bright colours.

Windows Vista, Canon 20d, Dell PC.
Happens to older images not new ones.
Have a raw thumbnail codex installed.
    Any help much apreciated
    Example attached.
It isn't happening to all images though:

The raw codec doesn't affect Bridge/ACR, only Windows Explorer and applications which use the codec, like Photo Gallery.
The corruption you show is pretty extreme. It's usually the sort of thing you get with a corrupt display profile (Bridge is fully colour-managed), but if that was the case, I would expect it to happen with all of your photos, not just some.
You show the Preview panel is corrupted, but what about full-screen and Camera Raw previews?
What happens if you reset an image to camera raw defaults, with bog-standard settings and an Adobe Camera Profile?
The only other obvious problem I can think of is graphics drivers.
Which versions of Bridge and Camera Raw are you using?

  • Images are becoming corrupted.

HI, I have a PowerMac G5 circa 2005. And something screwy is happening.
But basically, my images are becoming corrupted. I'll be looking through images with Preview and all of a sudden, part of the images will turn a different color such as green, yellow, magenta...
When I save in photoshop and re-open, a line will appear in part of the image that is slightly darker or lighter.
Here are my computer settings. I am running OS 10.5.8
    Model Name: Power Mac G5
    Model Identifier: PowerMac7,3
    Processor Name: PowerPC G5 (3.0)
    Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz
    Number Of CPUs: 2
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
    Memory: 6.5 GB
    Bus Speed: 1.15 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: 5.2.4f1
I few months back I changed the harddrive, so I know it probably not that. I read somewhere that I may need to replace my PRAM battery... I reset the PRAM, the problem hasn't re-occurred yet but it may just be a matter of time. Or perhaps a new graphics card... Anyone else have the same issue?
    Thanks

Sounds a bit like a Video card or RAM issue.

  • Illustrator Files get Distorted when Distilled into PDFs

I haven't been able to find anything like this in the discussions so I will start one. The production folks are using CS3 on Leopard Macs. I am using Tiger and can still reproduce the problem, so I don't think it is the OS.
    Here's what happens:
Certain .ai files placed in InDesign become distorted when the user makes a PDF either by using Acrobat Distiller or through our DALiM TWiST server. The distortion does not happen if they export to PDF, but they cannot do that since they must use the TWiST system to preflight their files and create the PDFs. The problem is likely related to the postscript stage of both of these methods of making PDFs. It does not happen to all .ai files that we use. Just some of them. It seems to be random, but with newer (CS3-created) Illustrator files as opposed to CS2 or earlier files. The current workaround is to just save the files as Illustrator eps and then they have no problem, but we are trying to get away from always using eps files.
Has anyone ever had anything like this happen?
    Thanks,
    Laura K.

Wow, you guys are great. Very helpful. The users who have reported this issue have already discovered the workaround of embedding the problem files. That does work. Their problem is that they don't know ahead of time which .ai files will do this. I suppose they could just embed all .ai files as they use them, but one user reports that the embedded files don't "stay" embedded. They use a droplet that was created for them where they just drop a job to be printed onto it and it will go through the TWiST workflow. It is a highly customized workflow, and we plan to have the engineer come back in and do some tweaking eventually. I think there is something in the droplet that can be altered so embedded .ai files will stay embedded. I suspect that is probably easy if you know what you are doing. :-)
But, meanwhile I was just wondering if there was maybe something we could do at the .ai file creation end to prevent the distortion from happening int he first place. The bad part is that it does not happen to all .ai files in our library, just a few of them. The same user reported a couple of years ago when we switched to InDesign that she had problems with .pdf files placed into InDesign printing properly and I think this is related to that.
Here are a couple of screenshots to illustrate what happens as far as the distortion. I have used one of our company's logo files that has been exhibiting the behavior as the example. The first screenshot (InDesignLogos) just shows the logo placed in an InDesign file as it should look. The bottom one has been embedded. The second screenshot (PDFLogos) shows the resulting PDF that was created using DALiM TWiST. Keep in mind that we also get the same result if we make a PDF using Acrobat Distiller. This is why I think it is something happening in the postscript file. I wish we could just export the PDF from InDesign because that takes care of the problem, but it is not an option with the TWiST workflow. The Illustrator file says it was created on Oct 26, 2009, saved as v.13 Created by v.13.02, if that helps.
Thanks for all of your help and good suggestions so far!

  • How do I transfer jpg images transfered to an SD card, into an iPad?

How do I transfer jpg images transfered to an SD card, into an iPad? Have tried lots - nothing works.
I would like to buy an iPad if this could be solved.
    I am on a PC
I have iTunes on my desptop, not my laptop.
When traveling I shoot RAW 22mg photos.
I resize down to 2mg file for screen.
I transfer to SD card to then transfer to an iPad.
I use wifes new iPad with SD card accessory to try to get it to work but it doesn't.
I created a test directory with subdirectories
Synced it to iPhone 3GS and worked fine.
Will not do syncing from laptop because ...no iTunes anddon't want it on laptop.
Did experiment with wife's MAC desktop - it worked fine
Card is an SD HC which supposedly works fine.
Apple would have a customer if I could do this.
    Thanks for any possible solutions.
    Brad

    Meg:
So far you are leading the race. I tried more scenarios on the SD card and the DCIM + names no longer than 8 characters works. However this naming and sorting convention still falls short for me. I realize what we want and what we get are sometimes two different things and I always try to seek a workaround.
If I breakdown and install iTunes on my laptop and sync just my main directory with many longer than 8 chars sub directory names and within those many jpg's with longer than 8 chars names would that solve my dilemma?...like how it works on the iPhone?
On the recent test with the SD attachment the sub directories did not import or even show - only those in the root. I named one sub directory with only 8 chars and one file inside less than 8 chars - not found by iPad.
I am hesitant to do this (add iTunes to laptop) because I may not necessarily want all files synced on desktop, laptop and iPad.
I sort many files based on events and travel days and most of the events I do are several days, hence many subdirectories...sometimes 5 weeks gone.
Sorry to be a pain but I am trying to buy an iPad...but so far not practical reason.

You can not. iMovie'13 (v.10) are 16x9 ONLY.

  • Images become blurred when placed in a PSD document

I have a QCODE (barcode) which is a 2-bit pure black and white images.
However, when I place it in another open document, the image becomes blurred when it is placed and the definition of the QCODE is compromised.
How can I stop PS from blurring the image.
I'm guessing it is trying to smooth out the placed image, but i don't want this.
    Many thanks.

    but i don't want this.
Place it pixel exact! Resampling means the image is placed at sub-pixel values. Aside from that you would also get softness if the image is not properly converted to the target color space and automatic conversion creates mix colors whose individual components blend differently with neighboring pixels, which in part is simply an artifact of on-screen simulation. In any case, you will only be able to get a proper barcode in CMYK/ Duotone/ Multichannel modes, where you can make sure it appears on the spot black ink separation so it does not get halftoned and loses its sharpness again. ideally it would even be native vector data...

  • Why are objects becoming distorted when zoomed in?

Lets say for example that I create a target shape at a relatively large size. I will then shrink it down to a more appropriate size and proceed to zoom in on the object. When I zoom in, the target becomes completely distorted. This is a problem that I came across recently as I have just upgraded from cs4 to cs5.1. Since Illustrator is vector based, objects should be crisp and look the same whether they are scaled to the size of the full artboard or down to just 1% of it, correct?
I have posted a screen shot of the issue that I am running into below. The larger shape on the left is normal, and the shape on the right is that same shape just scaled down. Note: this shape does not have strokes, it is a solid fill. Thanks for any help in advance!

This is what I had originally thought was the issue, so I created a new doument making sure to uncheck the box for the pixel grid. I then dragged the above shape into the new document and the problem persisted. However, when I recreated a similar shape in the new document, there was no distortion (as expected). It seems that for some reason an object created in a document with the pixel grid option turned on keeps those settings when carried into the new document.
Is there a way around this or am I going to have to recreate everything in the new document?
    Thanks for tee response, btw!

  • Image becoming distorted when printing - smartform in CRM system

We are using CRM 5.0 and have to create a smartform for the acknowledgement of the order. The output is triggered correctly but marketing want me to include an image at the top of the page. I understand that you are only able to load tif or bmp into smart forms and indeed they are printed, however when printed the image is not very clear - looks like it is resizing.
I have tried changing the image in many different ways - and using paint shop pro for uploading the image. I have found that if using TIF the only compression option that uploads is packbits. I have saved the image with as many colours as possible and then reduced it - each time the image looks rubbish! However when I view the file (from my computer) in PSP it looks ok.
I have searched the forums for help but not really found anything that useful. Does anyone have any suggestions how to get the image to come out as expected?
The image stretches across the whole width of the page and just over 3cm deep. There are quite a few colours in the image and it is fairly busy.
Driving me mad here! anyone got any ideas? Maybe I need to install additional filters or something???

managed to get this corrected using faststone image viewer and converting images to 300 DPI.

  • Why does my .jpg have a transparent object when placed in Indesign?

I have an product image .jpg that I am trying to place into InDesign, and when I place it, a part of that image becomes transparent. Have messed around with this for several hours now, checked color settings, tried saving it as different types, and for some reason it still keeps coming up with part of it being transparent. At my wit's end, could really use some help on this. Am using cs6 InDesign as well. Thanks

Considering the JPEG format doesn't support true transparency, I'd say it must have a clipping path installed. To find out, with the placed image selected, choose Object > Clipping Path... If "Convert clipping path to frame..." is enabled, (not grayed out) on the flyout menu, there's an active clipping path in the image. Do you have Photoshop?

  • Ai PDF becomes distorted when printed from Google Docs

For work, I create price sheets that I save as a PDF and host them on Google docs where other coworkers can access them. When documents are printed from Google Docs, they often become distorted. Sometimes images, such as a logo in the header, will be shifted to the right and bumped down an inch or so. I can usually fix this by rasterizing the objects that are moved. Has anyone else seen this before? An idea as to why this might be happening?

This is really better suited for the Acrobat Windows support forum...
When you repost, be sure to list details of what version(s) of Acrobat or Reader are being used by your client to print on what OS to what type of printer with what version of the driver...because they will ask!

  • RoboHelp HTML 9.0.1 - My images are not showing when published

    Hi all,
We have just upgraded from RH5 to RH9. We are using IE9.  All of our projects transferred over just fine - except for one.  We are able to publish this topic; however, the images within the topics are not being displayed when we publish - we get the dreaded red 'x'.  We can see the images when viewing the topics in RH.  However, they are not listed in the images folder in the Project Manager.  The images can be seen using Quick view and Internet view.  However, they cannot be seen when we generate a Word document.
Every other project is functioning properly.  We can publish everything else just fine.  This one project is our oldest project, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
