Podcasts in both iPhone and iPad will play for a minute and then reset back to the beginning, can only stream, cannot download - no problem on PC laptop with exact same Podcasts with exact same internet set up. What is the fix?
This is incredibly frustrating - we had a IPhone 4s that had no problems here for about 7 monts. We have a new IPhone 4s and recently a new IPad 2. Ever since the mandatory switch to using the Podcasts App for iOS based products (my PC laptop works fine), the podcasts will say "cannot be downloaded at this time" and will stream for 30 seconds to a few minutes, then abruptly start over at the beginning. We cannot fast forward ahead properly in the new clunky interface, and the secondary screen where you get to see the "tape player" going through podcast does not skip when you move the timer icon anywhere in the podcast. It is though they are running in parallel.
We are talking podcasts by the BBC, NPR, etc and the Lenovo doesn't have any issues bc the whole system is inside ITunes.
I have looked all over the internet and cannot find a fix, please help.

Im not sure wether I got you right or not. But my advice/s would be as follows:
These steps help you get rid of old apps you downloaded years ago and you do not use anymore.(Also frees space on your mac after emptying the trash)
1) go to iTunes and delete all applications in it. Make sure to move them to trash! Do not empty your trash yet. Its your backup if step 3 doesnt appear.
2) connect both your devices(one after each other) and make a backup. !!!Dont press the Sync button, press the Back Up Now Button
3) Then it asks you if you want to backup applications as well. Confirm. (This is how apps get transferred manually)
4) Then Sync your devices... The first time it might be, that there are some additional apps loaded to your devices you dont want to.. delete them on your Device (not iTunes) and after that you should be good every time you sync again.
5) now you can empty your trash on your mac.
Further,
- You should regularly connect your devices with iTunes to make sure they are backed up. (Even if you have activated iCloud backup, the iTunes backup is more proper i.e.. Apps)
- If you hate scrolling through a list of apps in iTunes, you can re/install apps directly on iOS not via iTunes. I absolutely never go to the "Applications" section in iTunes. I install and delete apps directly on iOS.

I have rented a movie from itunes on my atv last night about 8pm. started watching shortly thereafter, it stopped and said loading...it is still loading, now almost out of time to watch. I read some suggestions about changing hd to sd in settings, and I did. I admit I am so ignorant about all of this, but if anyone can offer something else, it would be greatly appreciated. I also had terrible issues with 2 Wire Gateway and my mid-2010 MacBook Pro. We changed to WPA2 and that seems to have fixed the problem. The AT&T tech support person, Phillipines, was extremely helpful. She went through network settings with me. One interesting step was going into my DNS tab (Network Preferences and then Advanced Button) and replacing my entries with these:

My iPod player within my iPhone isn't working properly when playing videos it will start then stop after a few seconds and also the sound bar appears then disappears, and when playing music no sound is coming out when I'm on a call I can hear everything properly and also on loud speaker! A play list will stop if it runs across a corrupted file. From time to time I run across a song that is messed up, and
That just shuts down the process. If it is the same song, there is your culprit. If you cannot tell, try to step through the playlist manually and see if you can force the same shut down that way. At least you will know which one it is. -

I would be concerned too if my iPod was shutting off after one minute. I found an article with some steps you can take to address issues like this:
Constantly restarting
Try putting the iPod into disk mode and restoring:
Reset the device (press the Sleep and Volume Down buttons simultaneously until the display turns black—about eight seconds).
When the display turns black, hold down the Volume Down and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the device enters Disk mode.
While the device is in disk mode, connect it to iTunes and try to restore.
Sync to iTunes and try to restore the iPod

I have recently updated to iOS 7.1 - which seems to be the start of the problem.
The bar at the bottom of the summary page in itunes when your device is plugged in is only orange symbolizing "other". It does not show audio, pictures, movies etc.This is a bad situation. Your iPhone is in a state which cannot be backed up, and the Restore will return iPhone to factory specs erasing it. You need to Restore your iPhone to get it working again. If you were experiencing problems before, maybe your iPhone is damaged. If still faulty, and you have Warranty or AppleCare take iPhone to Apple for evaluation. If no coverage and still faulty it may be time for new phone.

As stated above I will get a random radio station coming through my computer playing ads. I found similar problems happening to pc users but no help offered to a mac user. No applications are running in the background (to my knowledge) and its really iritating. Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
I finally resolved my problem after spending way too much time on it. I simply handed my 160GB iPod to my husband to put his fav Stones & Beatles songs on and I went back to my 80GB Microsoft Zune which has never disappointed me.
After spending so much time trying to figure this out I did finally take it back to Apple Store who performed a diagnostic and found there was a problem with the device. They replaced it with a refurbished one which has similar issues. All I wanted to do was listen to my music. Was that too much to ask? So I am happy to be free of this problematic device. No more Apple for me!! -
Swipe screen in operative after a short while. I reboot and after a while again it is inoperative. Anyone experienced that?

This is the second time that I've downloaded an album and one song off of it will play for 3 seconds and then skip to the next song. I've tried everything under the iTunes help and nothing has worked. Any ideas?

I'm having problems uploading video taken with my iPhone 4 to Photobucket. FB will not accept the file extension which is ex. IMG_423. They will play on my computer and will upload to Facebook. Why is the phone taking video with this file instead of something like .mov or mp4. How can I change the extension after the fact and avoid it in the future?
You said, "the 4 also has signal and wifi whereas the 5 has only wifi". By "signal", I'm assuing that you mean cellular signal. If so, that means your iPhone 4 is still active on your cellular number and your iPhone 5 is not. Contact your carrier to sort out which phone is active on your account.

If your wi-fi network, try resetting the wireless router and modem. Disconnect the wireless router from the power source followed by disconnecting the modem from the power source. Wait a few minutes followed by re-connecting the modem to the power source and allow the modem to completely reset before re-connecting the wireless router to the power source and allow it to reset with the modem before trying again.
