Polling for database updates fails to update sequence file/table
I have a small system to poll for changes to a database table of student details. It consists of:
Database adapter, which polls the database for changes, retreives a changed row, and passes the generated XML to -
"receive" router service, which simply passes the retrieved database XML data to -
"execute" router service, which transforms the XML and passes the new message to -
File Adapter, which writes the transformed XML to a file.
The problem is that the database polling is not updating the sequence recorder - I have tried using a sequence file which stores the personnumber, a sequence table which stores the personnumber and a sequence table which stores the last-updated timestamp. In all cases the database adapter successfully reads the sequence file/table and retreives the correct row, based on the sequence value ( I have tested this by manually changing the sequence value), the data is transformed and a correct xml file is created, but the system then fails to update the sequence file/table so that when the next polling time comes around the very same database row is extracted again and again and again.
In the ESB control panel I have one error: "Response payload for operation "receive" is invalid!"
The Trace is:
oracle.tip.esb.server.common.exceptions.BusinessEventRejectionException: Response payload for operation "receive" is invalid! at oracle.tip.esb.server.service.EsbRouterSubscription.processEventResponse(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.server.service.EsbRouterSubscription.onBusinessEvent(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.server.dispatch.EventDispatcher.executeSubscription(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.server.dispatch.InitialEventDispatcher.processSubscription(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.server.dispatch.InitialEventDispatcher.processSubscriptions(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.server.dispatch.EventDispatcher.dispatchRoutingService(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.server.dispatch.InitialEventDispatcher.dispatch(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.server.dispatch.BusinessEvent.raise(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.utils.EventUtils.raiseBusinessEvent(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.server.service.impl.inadapter.ESBListenerImpl.processMessage(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.esb.server.service.impl.inadapter.ESBListenerImpl.onMessage(Unknown Source) at oracle.tip.adapter.fw.jca.messageinflow.MessageEndpointImpl.onMessage(MessageEndpointImpl.java:281) at oracle.tip.adapter.db.InboundWork.onMessageImpl(InboundWork.java:1381) at oracle.tip.adapter.db.InboundWork.onMessage(InboundWork.java:1291) at oracle.tip.adapter.db.InboundWork.transactionalUnit(InboundWork.java:1262) at oracle.tip.adapter.db.InboundWork.runOnce(InboundWork.java:501) at oracle.tip.adapter.db.InboundWork.run(InboundWork.java:401) at oracle.tip.adapter.db.inbound.InboundWorkWrapper.run(InboundWorkWrapper.java:43) at oracle.j2ee.connector.work.WorkWrapper.runTargetWork(WorkWrapper.java:242) at oracle.j2ee.connector.work.WorkWrapper.doWork(WorkWrapper.java:215) at oracle.j2ee.connector.work.WorkWrapper.run(WorkWrapper.java:190) at EDU.oswego.cs.dl.util.concurrent.PooledExecutor$Worker.run(PooledExecutor.java:819) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:595)
The payload is:

<organization>TEX</organization>
<updateTimestamp>2007-11-29T14:06:55.000+00:00</updateTimestamp>
</Person>
</PersonCollection>
The payload above is the XML output from the Database adapter, the xsd for which was autogenerated by JDeveloper, so I don't understand how it can be invalid.
I have only been working with ESB for 3 days, but half of that time has now been spent stuck on this issue. Anyone got any ideas??
Richard
You need to be careful. Submit and committing to the database are two different things.
Submit on a page (and autoSubmit the property) are only posting the changes you typed into the field, back down to the application server. NOTHING is happening with the database at this point. So the applications's internal "cache" of records (using something like ADF BC) is holding the changes but the database doesn't know anything. So if you quit now, no changes will go to the database.
These changes onlyget submitted down to the app server when you do some sort of action like press a button. Simply navigating fields will be doing nothing back to the app server. If you add autoSubmit then you will automatically submit the changes on that field down to the app server when you leave the field (but again, this is not touching the database)
You have to explicitly add a COMMIT operation to save those changes to the database.
Maybe if you try in a simple EMP example and send us your findings we can help direct you further.

Hello,
I've encountered issue during installation of SP1 to SQL Server 2012. After upgrade I'm getting this error in Event Log:
Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'msdb110_upgrade.sql' encountered error 537, state 3, severity 16. This is a serious error condition which might interfere with regular operation and the database will be taken offline.
If the error happened during upgrade of the 'master' database, it will prevent the entire SQL Server instance from starting. Examine the previous errorlog entries for errors, take the appropriate corrective actions and re-start the database so that the script
upgrade steps run to completion.
Can someone point me direction how I can fix it? This is a production server and currently only way to make it working is to use T902 flag in SQL Server startup params. I've found some suggestions to check Data path if it exists but it does so this is not
the issue here. Any ideas?
I've found also here
http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1377073-1550-1.aspx#bm1378279
suggestions for similar issue with SQL Server 2008 which that I should do:
Via ssms:
From msdb:
Delete:
dc_admin role
Dc_operator role
Dc_proxy role
UlitityCMRReader role
UtilityIMRReader role
UtilityIMRWriter role
but for not I didn't tried it yet. This is standalone SQL Server instance.
Any help really appreciated.
RegardsScript returns the same error.

Before sending my message I've searched update script for "FROM master.sys.master_files" and I found script which you are showing me. I've made some digging and when I runned:
SELECT physical_name
FROM master.sys.master_files
WHERE (name = N'master')
it returned also path to one my customers database name which has filename set correctly but it's Logical DB name is master and mastlog. I'm running shared hosting company and I allow my customers to restore their DBs from .bak files but I have no idea why
this customers logical name is set to master and mastlog. Probably when I change this names update script will work as it should. On the other hand in my opinion there should be some kind of fail safe mechanism for situations like this one.
EDIT: After changing logical name for DB and log for mentioned DB your script runned fine so probably now when I remove T902 flag and restart my SQL Server update will run correctly. Big thanks for resolving this issue. -
Can we poll for database view using Datbase Adapter?
Thanks
Vivek. It is recommended NOT to use triggers, without going into too much detail this link provides a very good examples of why not to use triggers
http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/08-sep/o58asktom.html
The reason the adapter provides functionality for polling is for the very reason of no dependency in the source system.

i'm newbie to essbase and i don't found any info about the above error neither in the Internet nor in the oracle essbase documentation.
thanks in advance for your help.
Best Regards
Mohammed, Kaibouss
mailto:[email protected]So.... I've never used the Currency stuff before... but -- should the Q4.08 member exist in that database? As far as I can see that seems to be crux of the issue.

I used a method LoadPrototypeFromMetaDataToken(token, options) to load the return type parameters. I am unable to set the value field in the return parameters for an action step in teststand sequence file programatically using C#.How can I do that.

Infoview prompts for database logon screen when updating dynamic parameter
I have already set up initial database ID/PW for the report in CMS, but when I I tried to update my parameter to schedule the report, it is requiring the user to enter database ID/PW again........Is there a way to set this up so that the user can bypass this step since it is quite annoying?
Thanks. Is your lov created Business View Manager? If it is, you can store the userid and password in the data connection your business view is based on.
1) Start Business View Manager. Close the default screen that appears.
2) Click View > Repository Explorer on the menu bar.
3) Expand the Dynamic Cascading Prompts folder. Locate the "Data Connection" for the appropriate dynamic parameter. It will be in the form of <parameter_name>_DC (i.e. it will have the name of the parameter and then '_DC').
4) Double-click the Data Connection. "Property Browser" will appear.
5) Type the database user name and password in that Property Browser.
6) Set the Runtime Prompt to Never Prompt.
7) Save the changes to the Data Connection.
The prompt for database logon information will no longer appear when changing parameter values.

More details about message with code 31 (DNS update failed) in DHCP log file.
Hello,
Is there any way in Windows Server 2008 R2 to identify which exactly update has failed in DNS when code 31 is encountered.
It is for "A" record or "PTR" record of DNS ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
AndrejsHello Steven,
Thanks for your answer. I will look at DNS event logs.
I am asking about it because in DHCP server log time to time I can see blocks of following records:

For this VLAN DHCP is about to update both „A” and „PTR” RRs. Besides that I can that transactionID (2255794051) is the same.
Does it mean that first 3 records are about let’s say “A” RR for which update has failed and last 3 records are for “PTR” RR for which update succeeded?
Or, does it mean that these are two consecutive attempts to update both RRs where first attempt failed but second one succeeded?

Once again the Updater Fails to update on my Mac
I went through this on the last update and finally was able to download the entire revised app.
I continue to get a message that states that the app has been modified and can't be updated. I have updated reader for years with no problems until the last two updates.
What in the world is going on with Adobe and the upgrader?
Macintosh G5, OS 10.5.x non intel
Would someone at Adobe get off their collective behinds and fix this . . . please!
Or is this some sort of Adobe payback for Apple not using Flash on the iPhone? Perhaps Apple is justified in that ban after all.
DNPlease have a look at

If it does not solve your problem.I can try to help you by analyzing some logs.So please provide me patch log. To obtain the log , do the following steps:
1. Clear the contents of /user/library/adobe/logs folder
2. Open Console, located in the Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities folder. Check the console for error messages and save console log file
3. Update reader to generate the error message
4. Go to /user/library/adobe/logs and share the patch log file -
Java 5 updater fails to update to version 6?
Hi,
Looks like java 6 is oficially available on java.com, and our java 5 updaters all started notifying us about new available updates, however: the first 3 computers (winXP prof) that were/are running Java 5 in our office failed to update successfully to Java 6. Do other people experience such troubles too?
These fails were enough not to allow updates on other computers.
PS: Our computers don't show any sign of malware nor viruses.

JavaFX for database driven applications? No Tree or Table components?
Hi there,
Most of the apps I do are database driven and require liberal use of tables and tree components. I see these are missing from JavaFX.
So the questions I have are:
Will they be introduced later?
How does one create custom components for JavaFX?
Are there any 3rd party components that offer this yet?
thanksYou can find an example of the Table component creation and usage on page:

How do I correct error 80070005 for update lcd monitor failureHello chuck1955,
The error you are getting is usually generated because of either you not being an administrator or having malware on your machine. Now if you can install other updates that makes it a little odd.
Try the steps in this Microsoft KB just to rule them out as the problem.

Reader 10.1 update fails, creates huge log files
Last night I saw the little icon in the system tray saying an update to Adobe Reader was ready to be installed.
I clicked it to allow the install.
Things seemed to go OK (on my Windows XP Pro system), although very slowly, and it finally got to copying files.
It seemed to still be doing something and was showing that it was copying file icudt40.dll. It still displayed the same thing ten minutes later.
I went to bed, and this morning it still showed that it was copying icutdt40.dll.
There is no "Cancel" button, so this morning I had to stop the install through Task Manager.
Now, in my "Local Settings\TEMP" directory, I have a file called AdobeARM.log that is 2,350,686 KB in size and a file MSI38934.LOG that is 4,194,304 KB in size.
They are so big I can't even look at them to see what's in them. (Too big for Notepad. When I tried to open the smaller log file, AdobeARM.log, with Wordpad it was taking forever and showing only 1% loaded, so after five minutes, I terminated the Wordpad process so I could actually do something useful with my computer.)
You would think the installer would be smart enough to stop at some point when the log files begin to get enormous.
There doesn't seem to be much point to creating log files that are too big to be read.
The update did manage to remove the Adobe Reader X that was working on my machine, so now I can no longer read PDF files.
Maybe I should go back Adobe Reader 9.
Reader X never worked very well.
Sometimes the menu bar showed up, sometimes it didn't.
PDF files at the physics e-print archive always loaded with page 2 displayed first. And if you forgot to disable the look-ahead capability, you could get banned from the e-print archive site altogether.
And I liked the user interface for the search function a lot better in version 9 anyway. Who wants to have to pop up a little box for your search phrase when you want to search? Searching is about the most important and routine activity one does, other than going from page to page and setting the zoom.Hi Ankit,
Thank you for your e-mail.
Yesterday afternoon I deleted the > 2 GB AdobeARM.log file and the > 4.194 GB
MSI38934.LOG file.
So I can't upload them. I expect I would have had a hard time doing so
anyway.
It would be nice if the install program checked the size of the log files
before writing to them and gave up if the size was, say, three times larger
than some maximum expected size.
The install program must have some section that permits infinite retries or
some other way of getting into an endless loop. So another solution would be
to count the number of retries and terminate after some reasonable number of
attempts.
Something had clearly gone wrong and there was no way to stop it, except by
going into the Task Manager and terminating the process.
If the install program can't terminate when the log files get too big, or if
it can't get out of a loop some other way, there might at least be a "Cancel"
button so the poor user has an obvious way of stopping the process.
As it was, the install program kept on writing to the log files all night
long.
Immediately after deleting the two huge log files, I downloaded and installed
Adobe Reader 10.1 manually.
I was going to turn off Norton 360 during the install and expected there
would be some user input requested between the download and the install, but
there wasn't.
The window showed that the process was going automatically from download to
install.
When I noticed that it was installing, I did temporarily disable Norton 360
while the install continued.
The manual install went OK.
I don't know if temporarily disabling Norton 360 was what made the difference
or not.
I was happy to see that Reader 10.1 had kept my previous preference settings.
By the way, one of the default settings in "Web Browser Options" can be a
problem.
I think it is the "Allow speculative downloading in the background" setting.
When I upgraded from Reader 9 to Reader 10.0.x in April, I ran into a
problem.
I routinely read the physics e-prints at arXiv.org (maintained by the Cornell
University Library) and I got banned from the site because "speculative
downloading in the background" was on.
[One gets an "Access denied" HTTP response after being banned.]
I think the default value for "speculative downloading" should be unchecked
and users should be warned that one can lose the ability to access some sites
by turning it on.
I had to figure out why I was automatically banned from arXiv.org, change my
preference setting in Adobe Reader X, go to another machine and find out who
to contact at arXiv.org [I couldn't find out from my machine, since I was
banned], and then exchange e-mails with the site administrator to regain
access to the physics e-print archive.
The arXiv.org site has followed the standard for robot exclusion since 1994
(http://arxiv.org/help/robots), and I certainly didn't intend to violate the
rule against "rapid-fire requests," so it would be nice if the default
settings for Adobe Reader didn't result in an unintentional violation.
