Pop out menu problems

I put a pop out menu on the second navigation button on this
site. I used the dreamweaver 8's behaviors panel to create it.
In two of the pages the index and the music page the pop-out
menu does not appear when published to the internet.
It does appear when I preview in browser window. I cannot for
the life of me figure this out. I have tried changing
the non- choice in the target window to _parent or _blank and
it still doesn't show up on the internet. I appreciate any and all
help.
Any one out there with some advice?
Thanks,
PB

Yes, but you aren't going to like it. I wouldn't recommend
that anyone use
those menus in DW8. There are much better ways -

  • How to disable Web Camera pop out menu on my Satellite?

I have a Satellite laptop which has an annoying pop out menu on the left side of the screen. The one with four icons marked, Photo/Video, Settings, Effect, and Face Recognition.
Is there any way to disable it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
In most cases the camera software starts automatically while booting up the windows OS. To prevent this you can disable the webcam software in Startup of msconfig.
Type msconfig in search and choose Startup tab.
Here you have to remove the check from webcam software entry.
Save this, reboot and now webcam software should not start automatically.
But xavers advice should work too.

  • I can not get the pop out menu from the tools to work.  It looks like they are not loaded

Can someone help me know how to get the tool pop out menu to work.  It looks like they are not loaded.

You do have to click and hold down on any tool icon with a small triangle in the lower right.
The second method is to right-click on the tool.

  • Fireworks 8 pop up menu problem

My problem involves creating a pop-up menu in Fireworks 8 and
then when Iimport into Dreamweave 8, and then preview using
Firefox, or EI, the box gets cut off and the words hang off the
edge. I have the width and height specifications in Fireworks set
to automatic. When I preview in Firefox or EI from fireworks, it
looks great, so it almost seems it is something in the transition
from Fireworks to Dreamweaver. Anyone deal with this?

  • Help! Pop-up menu problem

    I made a pop-up menu in a trial version of Fireworks 8.
Everything works great within Fireworks, but when I try to insert
it in Dreamweaver 4 (using the Insert Fireworks html button) it
tells me that I need to insert an Fireworks html that was exported
from Fireworks. The pop-up menu I made was exported as an html from
    Fireworks. Help!

I don't think you are going to have much success trying to
    marry DW4 with
anything contemporary. It's methods and structure are so
    antique, you know?

  • Unordered list with pop out menu

I have an unordered list in a sidebar.  After a user clicks on the link in the sidebar, I want a larger pop up window to appear with several links inside of that box that they can click on.  What is the best way to do that?

    http://css3menu.com/modern-css3-menu-bar.html
These are all CSS Menu's which can be modified to suit your requirements. If you are looking for a straight-forward drag, drop and play, your expectations may be a little too high. These take a simple list structure and style it. The modifications you would need to make would be in the CSS stylesheet.

  • DW Pop-up menu problems

Ive used Dreamweaver to generate the pop-up menus on the
    following page;
    http://new.andersonsolicitors.com/index_dd_test.php
The problem is in IE, next to the top two items under
'services' there is the symbol that you see if you have a link to
an image that is broken. Does anyone know how to sort this? These
items are part of a tree, with further menus coming off them
Also, some of the text is too long to fit in the width of the

    Many Thanks

Please read this very carefully. You need to re-think this

You can't use just buttons for it. You need to use button
    within movie clip.
Frame 1 Master Bar, on roll over go to frame 2 where you have
    rest of the
    buttons.
You can also have on the frame whatever you wish, Master Bar,
    extra notes etc...

  • New Member with popout menu problem

I'm new to Dreamweaver and am trying to create a page of 3
frames that contains a dropdown/pop-out menu in the 2nd frame. When
the popout exceeds 3 choices, it it no longer displayed, giving the
user the sense that it "disappears" behind the main frame (3rd
frame). What do I need to do to get the popout menu to lay "on top"
of the 3rd frame? I'm trying to do the same exact thing that this
site is doing at the top of this exact page where you see "Home,
SOlutions, Products, etc", and the popout lays on top of the
    page.

Probably the most viable solution would be to start over and
not use frames, then the problem pretty much goes away.
It is possible to cause some content within a frame to show
based upon events in other frames (think mousing over a main menu
item in one frame and having a sub menu appear within another
frame, but that sub menu content would have to be part of the
content of the other frame). However, the way to do this is tricky
and has several cross browser issues, especially when content in
either frame can be scrolled. It really is much easier to not use
frames in the first place. IMO, with templates and includes to
handle adding menus, headers and footer and other common elements
to all pages there really is no compelling case to be using frames.
And even if there were, then it would be easier to change the way
the menu works (think tree or accordion menus on one side of the
page instead of across top of the page).

  • Spry menu problem - extra border

I have used a spry menu bar vertical on my site. When the
menu opens to the right upon rollover all links are there, however,
there appears to be an extra border or box behind the pop out menu.
I can email a screen shot of what it is doing. I appreciate any
    help!!!

Well, you are changing the right style selector.
I suggest you use the vertical image element as a background image in the menu items themselves, then they will be harmoniously positioned with the menu.
You can give each menu item its own width (in the stylesheet), if you need to, but for heaven's sake, get rid of those huge padding measurements. Pad enough on the right to disclose the vertical image, but try centering the text in each button instead of using padding to move it around.

  • FF5: when I go to Bookmark menu, and select a folder of my bookmarks, the resultant pop-up menu stays in place, not allowing me to access another bookmark folder instead. Just started happening today after I updated to FF5.

My bookmark folder has a number of sub-folders in it. When I try to access a bookmark, and mistakenly hover over the wrong sub-folder, the resultant pop-out menu will not go away, so I can't access the proper sub-folder. I have to click outside the pop-out and start all over again.

Ok. Update. Ive been playing around with this a bit. So the first thing I tried was adding a bookmark directly to the toolbar and not to a folder. This worked. I can see the bookmark on the tool bar and in the toolbar folder under organize bookmarks. Now. I try to add a bookmark for the same page to a folder on the toolbar. This time it shows up under bookmarks toolbar/*subfolder in organize bookmarks. But it does not show up in that folder under the actual tool bar. Like I said in my last post. I do not have two "bookmark toolbar" folders. just one that I am aware of.

  • "Show Pop-Up Menu" behavior problems

    Greetings—
The "Show Pop-Up Menu" under Add Behaviors is grayed-out and
won't allow additional links to be added to the templates. I'm
    currently on DW MX 2004.
    Thank you

The functionality has been REMOVED as a primary function in
    CS3. It will
allow you to edit a LEGACY MENU, but not create a new menu
    from scratch.
This is a good thing. The DW menus were indescribably
    horrible.
In their place, use the Spry menus, or -

  • The spry pop-up menu I built in Adobe Dreamweaver worked fine in my old Firefox, I updated Firefox today and the menu no longer works--despite disabling the pop-up blocker in Firefox preferences...what's the problem??? I need the menu to work!!!

I built a new pop-up menu for my website using Spry in Adobe Dreamweaver. Because of some differences in .HTML and .XHTML
it took me days to get it right. I tested every variation in Firefox until it worked perfectly. Today, I installed the newest version of Firefox and now the pop-up no longer works. I changed the preferences in Firefox to disable to pop-up blocker and it STILL DOESN'T WORK...although an older style of pop-up menu (menu machine) which is no longer supported by Adobe, DOES WORK.
    HELP!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT.

    pixlor:
OP is using CS3 and the menu blog is talking about the menus
    in earlier
versions of FW, so *most* of the points made in the blog
    don't apply.
That's not to say that using CS3 pop-up menus is a *good*
    thing....

  • 'Quick Fix' for HP Officejet Pro L7580 Printer & 88XL Yellow Cartridge Popping out problem!

After reading other forum comments from people having the same problem with the yellow cartridge popping-out, combined with others who have realised that HP have no interest in compensating anyone for this rediculous example of, at best, 'bad design', or at worst 'blatent planned obsolescence', I have created a solution that may add another 1, 2 or more years of life to the HP Officejet Pro L7580 Printer.
This is not the elegant technical solution I was hoping for.  However, in hindsight, it may prove to be a more reliable solution than replacing the faulty part that is actually causing the problem.  So, here it is the solution ........
I found a wooden triangular door stop that I cut to size that fitted exactly in the space between the plastic door and the offending yellow cartridge. To hold it in place, I wrapped the doorstop with 2" cellotape, then I stuck the door stop to the inside of the plastic door with double sided cellotape (double sided stick-on foam would also work well). With the doorstop in the correct place, the plastic door closed perfectly and was snug enough to apply sufficent pressure to the offending yellow cartridge, and hence stopping it from popping out again.  To make sure the plastic door does not 'fly open' with the pressure of the yellow cartridge (when it wants to pop out!), I applied another piece of 2" cellotape around the outside of the door, holding it to the body of the photocopier.
This exercise only took 10-15 mins to do.  I feel this is a much better option than spending another $300+ on a new All-in-One  system, as well as being a good environmental solution.  If this is DELIBERATE 'planned obsolescence', companies like HP need to be more accountable for, at best, 'sloppy design'.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Try this for a Quick Fix ...........
