Pop up message regarding encoding in internet explorer

Hi, please help me.  I have a gateway (monitor screen) and my hard drive is a Compaq Presario CQ5700Y PC (Windows 7)
I tried to copy a book from my kindle fire HD into Internet explorer file to open and read.   During the process it prompt me that I would have to change the encoding because the text was in another translation (like Hebrew text).  I was not sure what that meant, so I looked it up and I realized that although the book was purchased in English,  however, while coping text onto the computer word could change it to another font/text, language.   I went in to my system to try and change the encoding and it did not convert the text to English.   It prompted me to download language packs for Windows 7.    When I realized that it would not work, I immediately went into the system and changed my settings back to the original settings.   However, I keep getting a pop up message every time I tried to install or download an application.   Please see the message below:
Message:  Internet Explorer
This page uses fonts that need to be temporarily installed.  This is usually safe.  Do you want to allow these fonts to be downloaded?
It is extremely frustrating because it consistenly pops up.   Please, please help me.   Anyone who is computer savvy.

  • Cannot print due to error message--printer working with Internet Explorer--How do I correct?

    Last week printer worked fine with Firefox.
    This week a message comes back "an error occurred while printing".
    Printer works fine with Internet Explorer.

    To test how Firefox runs "uncustomized" on your system, could you do a two-minute experiment?
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
    A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
    Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
    Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
    You'll click the Create Profile button. I recommend using the default location suggested (i.e., just ignore the option to choose a different folder). Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
    Can you print?
    When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Regarding Mozilla and Internet explorer

    Hi
    We are facing one strange problem. We have one player in this player we are playing flv files. If we are opening that player in the mozilla we can view the flv file after 2 second but in the internet explorer we can see the same flv after 20 to 25 second.
    Please suggest us. What we can do to avoid this situation in internet explorer.

    Which FMS version are you using and what are the settings of FLV file. I don't suspect this is an issue with FMS so i would suggest its better you post this query on Flash Player forum too to see if anyone is aware of any such issue there.

  • Skillbuilders modal page - success message not closing in Internet Explorer

    Hello,
    I'm using Skillbuilders modal page plugin on Apex 4.1.
    The plugin works great in all browsers except in IE, where I'm unable to close the success message by clicking on the "x" in the upper right corner.
    I'll explain further.
    I have a report on, say, page 10, and I'm editing each row in a modal page (page 11). Upon saving the changes, the modal page closes and a success message is shown on the page 10. I can see the message both in Firefox and IE, however, I am unable to close it in IE.
    When I inspect the success message using Firebug in Firefox, I see that I have:
    <div id="messages" style="display: block;">
    <div id="success-message" class="success">
    <img class="remove-message" onclick="$x_Remove('success-message');" alt="" style="float:right;" src="/i/delete.gif">
    Action processed.
    </div>
    </div>However, when I inspect the success message in IE, I see:
    <div id="messages">
    </div>The success message is shown on the page, but it doesn't show in the page source code, and clicking on the "x" doesn't close it.
    I've tried it with several themes, the problem persists.
    Does anyone have any idea what might be the problem here?
    Did someone have a similar problem?
    Thank you!

    I've been looking at it, kind of gutted that indeed the semi-colon means nothing. Was sure that was it, and then didn't bother to test it in the template anymore as it ate so much time already. That should teach me...
    Anyway, I was puzzled too. Apparently it has to do with IE8 and jQuery appending code to the document, whether it is .append or .before. The element is there and all, but the onclick just does nothing. Why did it work after editing it? Probably because IE was then able/willing to pick the attribute up.
    I've fiddled with it over and over, trying to find something ,googling it, but couldn't really find a certain cause nor fix. Putting   in the anchor? Nope. Onclick reacting only on second click? Nope. Just do an alert? Nope. Just nothing works at all. I really just gave up. IE8 is just such a headache that by trying to "fix" it in its ways you're off worse.
    In the end I fixed it in another way. My template is different than yours but the technique is the same.
    I removed the onclick attribute from the success message region, on both page templates. If it ain't gonna work I don't want it there (good riddance too). I changed the href attribute too by just putting "#" in, which is probably just me being pedantic. This is my result success message template:
    <section class="uRegion uWhiteRegion uMessageRegion clearfix" id="uSuccessMessage">
      <div class="uRegionContent clearfix">
        <a href="#" class="uCloseMessage"></a>
        <img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#f_spacer.gif" class="uCheckmarkIcon" alt="" />
        <div class="uMessageText">
          #SUCCESS_MESSAGE#
        </div>
      </div>
    </section>To be able to close it, I added some javascript in the page header:
      <script type="text/javascript">
        $(document).delegate(".uCloseMessage", "click", function(){$(this).closest(".uMessageRegion").remove(); return false;});
      </script>This is much in the way of a dynamic action with scope "live". I didn't want to bother with having to put a dynamic action on each page, and is why I did it this way. It works fine in each browser too, so hurray.
    Your solution works too of course, it's much the same. I wouldn't call it a "workaround" too, since it didn't work initially anyway. I wouldn't look further and stick with what works best for you. :)

  • After registering on the album starter Edition 3.0, I am getting an error message saying that windows internet explorer cannot find the website, to make sure the path or internet address is correct.  when i click ok, it all goes away, adobe and all.  Help

    I called tech support that switched me to customer care and after over half an hour on the phone, they told me to look it up in the forums.  If you have any words of wisdom, I would love to hear them now.  I guess I have to get through this registering phase to obtain the unlock code.  I am surprised at how faulty this step is.  I expected more from Adobe.
    Please help!!!  Thanks.  Lisa

    You need to update your starter edition 3.0 to a 3.2 edition. Go to www.adobe.com, click on "Downloads" then "updates", continue to look under "Product updates" and scroll down to "Photoshop Elements". Now you need to download the Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. This update will automatically remove your 3.0 edition, and your photos will be accessible in the 3.2 edition. Now you can register again. Good Luck!

    Good day Andrew,
    I'm sorry to hear you've been having trouble.  Please try the following steps:
    Clear your Internet Explorer Browser Cache
    Update Flash Player to the latest version by visiting: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    If both those options fail, see if the issue persists in another browser, such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome
    Hopefully these steps will resolve the issue!
    Please let us know if you have any questions.

  • Text Message sent from LabVIEW using ActiveX and Internet Explorer

    I am fairly new to LabVIEW and I am trying to make a VI that will be able to text me and let me know when a test is about to be done or if something has caused it to shutdown.  My VI uses www.onlinetextmessage.com but I can't get it to click the Send Message button.
    I can get it to insert text in the text fields.  I just can get it to click send.

    Well it sure seemed like that should have worked but no luck. When I try to add the FormElement with submit in my VI after I wire in the reference wire it automaticaly changes to a regular Element.  Then it wont run because submit is not an option for Element, I have to change the submit back to click.
    I dont understand, it really seems like the click should work, and it seems like the submit should have also worked.  Getting text into the different fields was easy enough.
    Did you try my modified version?  That uses IHTMLFormElement properly.  If you then change the element name from "Send Message" to "txtmsg" (the name of the form), it appears to work - or at least, it pops up an advertising window in Internet Explorer (I didn't fill in any of the fields as I don't want to give out my phone number or email address to some random website, especially one that pops up advertising).
    When you try to change to FormElement, what steps are you taking?  Are you changing the type of the "type" input to Variant to Data?  You'll need to right-click on that constant, Select ActiveX Class... and choose IHTMLFormElement.
    As a LabVIEW style note, you should close all the ActiveX references you open.  That means all the references (IHTMLFormElement, IHTMLElementCollection, etc) need a Close Reference when you're done with them.
    Again, I think sending an email is a better way to send a text message from within LabVIEW, and for that matter, you might be able to find a better website for doing it.  TMobile allows their subscribers to send SMS messages through their website and it appears that AT&T provides a similar service; Verizon provides a web page to send SMS to their users.
    EDIT: by the way, the submit button is not a named element (it has a "Value" property but not a "Name" property) so you can't get a reference to it by name.  If you probe the item output of the IHTMLElementCollection property node, you'll see it returns an empty variant, which is why "click" has no effect.

  • I am receiving an error message in Internet Explorer - Adobe Muse

    I am receiving annoying error messages in Internet Explorer. How can I fix this?
    The website is currently live. View here: http://josephapartments.com

    If needed, I can send you my muse file.

    First, go back into the CPTX source file and check that LMS reporting is indeed turned on and that it is set to SCORM etc.
    If that is OK.  Republish and use the Zip option in the Captivate Publish dialog settings to zip the file.  Don't zip it yourself.
    If your LMS still rejects this zip file, upload to SCORM Cloud and see if it rejects it too.

    I found my own solution to this one after many more hours of frustration. I found that there was a toolbar applet installed in Internet Explorer that started its own private JVM, and that JVM was being seen by the plugin code for 1.3.1_07. Apparently there was some conflict between what the plugin code expected and what that private JVM (not sure what version it was, the code had no mention of it) had to offer, which caused the crash dialog. Uninstalling the toolbar (and its parent application) solved the problem. I may do further testing to see if there are any plugin versions that do work with this particular applet.
    It is also still a mystery why this problem only cropped up after installing and uninstalling 1.4.x version of the plugin, but I didn't keep close track of the whole sequence so it may have been coincidental.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Cannot download a file with internet explorer 6 using SSL connection

    Hello,
    I am working on a application that uses SSL. But when the clicks a button to donwload a file using IE 6 or IE 7, internet explorer shows a error message saying that "The internet explorer cannot open this site". This error dont occur in Firefox, but i have to use Internet Explorer. And the error occurs only if i use https, with http it works fine.
    I search the net and i found that internet explorer has a bug, that when the server sends the http header "Pragma: no-cache" or "Cache-control: no-cache,max-age=0,must-revalidate", then the internet explorer doesnt cache the file, and i cannot open it. See here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316431/en-us
    My problem is that OC4J appears to send this headers automatically. I am using Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Control 10.1.3.3.0. Here, is my code to send the file:
    HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse)
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getResponse();
    response.setContentType("application/x-download");
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachement; filename=\"file.pfx\"");
    response.setContentLength((new Long(myFile.length())).intValue());
    OutputStream out=null;
    try {
    out = response.getOutputStream();
    fis = new FileInputStream(myFile);
    int n;
    while ((n = fis.available())> 0) {
    b = new byte[n];
    int result = fis.read(b);
    out.write(b, 0, b.length);
    if (result == -1) break;
    out.flush();
    out.close();
    } catch (Exception e){
    throw new DownloadException("Erro ao enviar arquivo para o stream de download.");
    finally{
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().responseComplete();
    You can see that i not send that headers in this code.
    Here, is the headers sent to IE when i use https.

    Hi!
    I don't have a solution fou you, just a few ideas =)
    You can check what headers response contains with
    response.containsHeader( "your_header_here");
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/sdk_1.2.1/techdocs/api/javax/servlet/http/HttpServletResponse.html#containsHeader(java.lang.String)
    after that you could set/overwrite those headers that you don't like with, for example:
    response.setHeader("Cache-control", "no-cache,max-age=0,must-revalidate");
    Aparently Pragma and Cache-control headers should be used in pair, as noted here
    http://curl.haxx.se/mail/archive-2005-12/0003.html
    quote:"The author of Bad Behavior points out that RFC2616 requires that a
    Pragma: header to be accompanied by a Cache-Control: header. From what I
    see, it only says "SHOULD" (in section 14.32), but that is still a
    strong recommendation and something to be considered, IMHO."
    I'm a bit sceptical about you needing to cache the file, but if you feel strong about it, you could read this
    http://www.mnot.net/cache_docs/#META
    If you're working on SSL there is supposed to be some kind of validation, certificate or something like that. IE6 and 7 both have strong security measures in these regards. Maybe you should look something up in that direction.
    Hope I helped.

  • Internet Explorer Experienced an Error

    When I play gamesville.Com, about every 45 second the error message showing that the Internet Explorer is experiencing problems, will see if they can resolve and reopen, it always will reopen in a different window. I know its not the modem or my carrier because I play the same game on my laptop and it works great.

    Hi,
    First, reset Internet Explorer as follows - be aware that this will remove Bookmarks and Saved Passwords etc.
    Open windows Control Panel, open Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and then click the Reset button.  Click 'Yes' or 'Ok' to any further prompts required to complete the process.
    Next, reinstall Adobe Flash as follows.
    Download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Desktop.
    Flash Player Uninstaller.
    When the download has completed, close all browser windows and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the PC.
    Next, download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
    Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
    Launch Firefox and see if your game will play Ok in this browser - if it does, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component.  When done, restart Internet Explorer.

  • WINE: Cannot install Internet Explorer 6 on 64-bit system

    Hi everyone
    I'm running the 64-bit version of Arch Linux, with WINE 1.3.2 from [multilib] and winetricks installed.
    When I try to install ie6 via winetricks (which I need for both work and a game I'm trying to install ), I get the following error message:
    The Windows Update: Internet Explorer and Internet Tools cannot be installed on this computer. This product does not install on 64-bit platforms.
    After closing this window (i.e. clicking OK), I get another error message, which informs me that "regsvr32.exe has encountered a serious error and needs to close."
    So, what gives? WineHQ shows claims of people being able to install it on a 64-bit Linux system; namely, Ubuntu and openSUSE... no Arch results, and I don't want to post "Garbage" if I'm doing something wrong here.
    If anyone would help me shed some light on this (and perhaps even fix it!) I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks in advance!

    I know about wine-gecko. However, that's not it
    edit: update to the problem: I've switched to bin32-wine-suse from AUR. Now I can install IE6, yay
    However, something's still bothering me.
    bin32-wine-suse complains about every wineprefix made by "stock" (multilib) WINE being a 64-bit environment, and thus impossible to work with.
    So the [multilib] WINE apparently makes a 64-bit Windows-like environment, whatever that would mean to them. I don't really think that's right, knowing how some apps - namely, IE6 and such - complain about this.
    Any ideas?
