Popup status doesn't disappear when moving focus within framesets

I developed and manage a website that makes extensive use of frames. When I click on a link in one frame that opens a page in an adjacent frame moves focus there. The problem is that the the popup status that appeared in the origin frame displaying the link to the just-opened window doesn't then disappear, but remains visible even though that frame is no longer active. This would appear to be a bug. Can it either be fixed or a work-around suggested? Please don't comment on frames being obsolete. Thanks

Adding on to original query. In fact this behavior only occurs when transferring to a frame containing a data entry form. Then, if I move the cursor over any other hyperlink, say in the side favorites menu, the popup disappears. Quite annoying, particularly since I previously used the status bar to inform users of valid / invalid input quantities on these forms.

Are you perhaps referring to dragging an item out of the Dock and onto the Desktop?
If so, they are intended to poof-disappear when you do that.
The reason - the icons shown in the Dock are a form of alias, not the real item. Any running app will have its icon shown there; and those that do appear there can be made to stick even when the program is quit. This means that there must be a mechanism to get rid of them, else there would eventually be too many. One way is to right-click or Control-click the item, then select Remove from the popup menu that appears. A more convenient way is to just drag them off of the Dock and have them disappear.
If you want to replace an item on the Dock, just drag the item to the Dock, wait for the items already there to make room for it, then drop it onto the Dock. Apps can only be placed to the left of the vertical dashed line; folders can only be placed between the dashed line and the Trash.

White Balance Selector Disappears when moved across the image

I am using LR 4.4 on an iMac.
Does anyone know why the White Balance Selector tool would disappear when moved across an image?
it seems to change to a vertical line with an arror top and bottom.
The areas of the image on which it disappears seem to be consistent, in other words, it disappears on the same portion of the image eveytime.
UPDATE: Since posting the above a few minutes ago I've noticed that my cursor is behaving eractically. For example, on a different image to the one used above, in the library module using the Loupe the cursor changes from a magnifying glass to an arrow pointing to the right. It does this on the same part of the image every time.

Weird cursor problems are a FEATURE of the APPLE os.
There are complaints on the APPLE os system website since 2005.
The last time I checked there were 30 pages of discussions about this on the apple site
https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/os_x_mountain_lion.
I don't think APPLE has a clue as to how to fix this. It is seen in many apps, photoshop most commonly, lightroom,textedit,exxcel, and others.
Pray that something happens in soon to be released 10.8.4.

Hi everyone!
Looking also for an app that allows me to merge email and send them out to each recipient individually. Apparently that's not possible yet. Here's what the guys at RedbitsApps told me about Group Email capabilities:
"The current version of the app relies on the device operating system to send the emails. For this reason, sending individual email instead of a single email to multiple recipients is not possible. Apple doesn't allow apps to send single emails to many recipients easily. We may use a custom sending software in a future version."

Flex app doesn't work when moved from original location

I'm trying to make an image gallery in flex. It works when I run it in Flex Builder perfectly fine. The html and swf files from the bin-debug folder work perfectly fine when opened in any browser also, but ONLY when those files and all related files are opened from the default location that the application was built in. When I export a build to a different folder, the swf loads but none of the information from the xml file displays. I tried setting all of the paths of the reference files (namely the xml) in the flex app to the exact absolute location on the server, and it still didn't work when I uploaded it to the server.
I've tried several approaches starting from scratch and they have all come up with the same issue. I'm working with an educational license for Flex Builder, I'm not sure if they jip you on those and ruin the compiled swf.
Please help! I'm losing my mind over this.I think it has to do with something else besides the code since it works fine when I hit "Run", but if anyone thinks it will help to post the code let me know.

when you build an application using one of the wizards (like coldfusion flex application wizard) it hard codes
paths to cold fusion CFC's, and sometimes gets it wrong.
If your application references cfc's (or other remote objects) then it may be necessary to adjust the flex code
when moving the code into a different base folder.
For example in my own application, the url is http://localhost/crm_dev_flex and the built application gets put into
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\crm_dev_flex\bin-debug
References in the code to components found in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\crm_dev_flex\bin-debug\components\cfgenerated
(in the flex code these looks like crm_dev_flex.bin-debug.components.cfgenerated.<mycomponent> )
These need to change when you move the code to somewhere else.
Also, if you are using wizard generated cfc's then these also contain similar references that need to be changed.

when your moving your arrow cursor over textbox its changes to Text cursor
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Whole gallery disappear when moving it from another folder

Hope i can get some clues here of something i find more than strange.
I was working on Photoshop and moving some images within Bridge and i noticed my Iphoto Library was inside another subfolder, to clarify i keep it in an external drive. So i grab it (the libray) and drag it outside the other folder when i noticed i was actually copying the whole library outside.
I stop the action and i moved the library instead, then i have a message saying that it was a folder already named 'Iphoto Library' in that location (the half copy one) and if i want to replace it, i press ok to replace, then its copying into new location...a window pops up and reads -error action cannot be continue- and the my whole library disappear. No original one nor even the copy bit, gone..
I search through with every keywords, Trash, even making a search in finder for JPEG bigger than 100kb..
I am talking here about over 20,000 pictures, so it is really strange if i'm not bump even into one image at all, and how a folder can just delete itself, specially a big one like that.
It makes no sense.
Any help?

Here's a tip: choose between iPhoto and Bridge. Using Bridg on photos managed by iPhoto makes it very easy to damage the iPhoto Library. So, one of the other is my first advice.
So i grab it (the libray) and drag it outside the other folder when i noticed i was actually copying the whole library outside.
When you move an item on the same volume then it just moves. When you move an item between volumes then it gets copied. This sounds like you've moved your Library from one volume to another.
Were you doing these moves with Bridge or the Finder?

It didn't delete itself, you deleted it, I'm afraid. It sounds like you made a partial copy then copied the partial copy over the original.
Check out a file recovery software such as File Salvage

Images "Disappear" When Moving a Project But Really They'r e Just Invisible

Last night I imported 442 images into a new project. I rated them, and edited about 40-50. This morning I moved the project within the same library. When I did so, all the images disappeared, sort of. The project appeared empty. I let it sit a couple of minutes, and undid the move to no effect.
I checked to see if a filter was blocking the images but it was not the problem. I checked the Project properties and it showed the images were all there (plus, I use referenced files and I hadn't deleted the CF card so worst case scenario I had all my originals). Also, when I displayed all the projects in a browser view window, the project showed up and I could sweep through all the thumbnails in the project browser. But again, if I selected the project and tried to see the images in either the browser, viewer, or split view, nothing showed up. No thumbnails, no file names, no empty thumbnails, nothing. The photos were sort of invisible.
I "solved" the issue by moving an image - any image - from another project into the problem project. Suddenly that photo and all the other images, were visible. Removing the random image did not recreate the problem.
Since I no longer have the problem I'm posting for 2 reasons: (1) to publish the problem and my fix in case anybody gets the same problem, and (2) to see if anybody knows what caused this and if there is a more direct fix than my weird indirect fix. Thanks.

I have had the same thing happen consistently. I import images into a default project. Then when I move the project into an organizational folder... all the images disappear. After a couple of panics, I have now realized that if I stay calm, close Aperture, then open it again, the pictures are all present. Quite a pain in the butt, but at least there is a work around. Albeit a bit scary .

PyGTK GTK.Dialog doesn't disappear when destroyed

I'm creating a Python module for precanned GTK dialog boxes. The code to create the dialog box works fine - I get the return code, etc. I want - but when I try to destroy the dialog box, the box freezes until the interpreter exits. The function returns and interpreter still runs - likely, the calling program would continue to run perfectly - but the box stays with its button held down, not responding to requests for destruction. I am calling 'gtk_dialog_object.hide_all()' then 'gtk_dialog_object.destroy()', but still it does not disappear. Any comments on the proper destruct sequence?

so, yesterday it worked, then today again it doesn't. Could it be something with icons/themes?
Isn't there some configuration file in my home I could try deleting?

Contacts Disappear when moved between Groups

I work within Outlook 2007 on my PC. When I move my icloud contacts from one group to another, those contacts disappear totally. They are no longer even in the "Master" contact list. Are they gone forever or is there a way to retrieve them? And is there a way to prevent it from happening again?

I had the same issue as you did -- for a few weeks now I've been suffering through agonizingly slow Contacts performance.
The way I resolved it was:
1) Quit Contacts
2) Go to system preferences and go into iCloud, then uncheck contacts -- choosing to delete from mac.
3) Go into system preferences and to Internet Accounts and again uncheck contacts under any of the accounts it's enabled on (gmail, yahoo, etc).
4) Go to your user's library folder (easiest way is to open a finder window, hold down the option key on the keyboard and from the Go menu, select Library).
5) Delete anything referring to Address book or com.apple.address book....   -- check these folders in particular:
     - Address Book
     - Application Support
     - Caches
     - Preferences
6) Restart your computer
7) Go back into System preferences and enable contacts from wherever you want (iCloud, etc.)
8) If it's not quite enabling (appears to enable, but checkbox doesn't show), then do one more restart of the computer.
9) Now open Contacts and allow it to sync

Attachments disappear when moved

When I move a message with an attachment from my In Box to another Mail (Apple Mail 5.0) folder sometimes the attachment disappears. How do I correct this?

You didn't post enough info about your situation. Are you using IMAP or POP? Actually, for any issues involving gmail, which I use all the time, I find it much more beneficial to post the questions on google's gmail forum which you can access via the gmail.com web site in the help section.

Mail Attachments Disappear when Moved

i noticed that when i create a message and add attachments, i am unable to move them once they are in the message body.
for instance, if i attach a PDF file to a message, and i drag the file icon to a different location in the message, it disappears.
anyone else experience this?

It's generally a bad idea to move large numbers of messages at once. Mail is known to barf on occasion when you do this. always copy not move. if the copy is successful then you can delete the originals.
try rebuilding mail index. quit Mail and delete the file homedirectory/library/mail/envelope index. start mail and let it import (that means reindex). see if those messages show up. you can also make a smart mailbox to show messages with received date in December 2008.

Child groups disappear when moving new region container

here are the steps to reproduce:
1. create 2 new region containers(named first and second) in you app def
2. create a child object to the first container such as another region container
3. drag drop the first container below the second container
any child objects below the first container should disappear. this seems to be a bug. if you're careful it's avoidable, but it's easy to lose any previous group or container configuration or ordering if you've already created a bunch of regions and would just like to reorganize them using the region containers.

This happens only when you start dragging around a new element that has not been saved before.
If you click Apply before dragging a newly created element around, it should work fine.
Nevertheless, I agree it is a bug, and I have put it on the list to fix for R11.

Photos disappear when moving a project into a folder

If I move a project into a subfolder, the images from that project no longer appear in the browser of thumbnail viewer. If I hover my mouse over the project, it shows the correct number of versions in that project, but for whatever reason, Aperture is unable to display those images until a reboot of the program. Has anyone else experienced this?

I too have had the same issue but seem to have found a way around it...it might work for you too. Its really simple!!! Ive tried troubleshooting etc but non of that has worked. Ill explain my problem first.
I drag a project into a new folder and the images disappear although when holding mouse over project it still tells me how many versions are there (the photos have not been deleted, aperture is just not seeing them - a glitch perhaps?
I then go into projects and find that particular one. The images appear there as thumbnails but when double clicking into that project they still are not there.
THE FIX - I simply drag that project over any other one and merge them. Then I hit undo (ctr z). Then presto they are back. I go into that project again and they are all there. Took me bloody ages to figure that out but its an easy fix and one I can live with.
