  • CQ62-215DX hybernates upon closing notebook and does not come back on after opening screen again

My CQ62-125DX  Product WQ5856UA#ABA   shut down when book was closed in the on position.  The screen remains black athough Cap lock light s intermitent. I shut down to reboot, and system sounds and acts as if t was coing o, but screen never lights up.
This happened only after the laptop screen was closed and reopened.  after giving up I decided to press the power button three week later, and it came on, but thinking all was Ok after a couple of days, again I closed the laptop and screen will not come back on upon opening.  It seems to gointo hybernate mode, but will not wake up again.   If it happens to come on again I will go in and shut off the energy saving featues, so it does not go into hybernatiion,   but mean while......  What fix do you have for this issue.   I'm not doing anythingut of the ordinary, I look online, and see that many people experience these symptoms.   Have you looked into this and figured how to solve this glitch??      Thanks in advance for you help  ALbert

Same thing here!! I was calling my wife and it happened 3 times in a row in a matter of minutes. I rebooted the phone and it went away. Hasn't crept up on me again, yet (knock on wood).
I don't know whether it makes a difference and whether they are technically the same, but I upgraded the firmware that was released 07/10/2008 that is from Apple's Servers from version 5A345 to 5A347 just to see if this fixed any last minute glitches.
I hope this problem never surfaces again. We all paid a lot for these and spent a lot of time waiting for activation.

my iphone went black and it will not come back on even after i held the botons down for a min

    Hey dodie67,
Thanks for the question. Sounds like your iPhone stopped responding to buttons, switches, or touchscreen input, so you'd want to go through the troubleshooting steps in the following article and see if that resolves the issue:
iPhone, iPad or iPod touch: Not responding or does not turn on

  • How can i get my iphone 4 back up after it went dead. It had plenty of power, and it will not come up even after i hold down the home and power buttons for 30 seconds.

My iphone 4 went dead even when there was plenty of batery life. I ran through the reboot for holding down the home button with the power button and it still did not come back up. Any thoughts?

Plug it into a wall outlet for at least 30 minutes, then try resetting it again. If no respose, you most likely have a hardware issue. Make an appointment at an Apple store.

  • Z87-G41 pc mate : monitor does not come back on after wakeup

Everytime the computer goes to sleep and  wakes up, the monitor does not come on. I can shut it off and turn it back on and the desktop will flash, then goes black again. Just started doing this last week. I updated all drivers and this did not help either. I am running Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I have had this MOBO since last March with no problems. Any ideas?

  • While printing on my canon MX892 it shut off and will not come on even after checking plug ins.

While my canon MX892 was printing it shut down and will not turn back on.  What could have happened to cause this problem?

Hi Painter6, Please follow these steps to resolve this issue: 1. Please confirm other devices plugged into the electrical outlet power on. At this time, please do not disconnect the printer at the electrical outlet. If there is an empty electrical slot, plug in a lamp to make sure the outlet is working. 2. Disconnect the power cord completely at the back of the printer. 3. Please push the power cord back into the receptacle ensuring that the cord is pushed in as far as it will go. 4. Pull the cord and see if it easily slips out from the connector or if it seems secure. 5. If the machine does not power on automatically, press the ON/OFF button. 6. If the machine does not power on after the power cord was pushed in all the way at the back of the printer and the ON/OFF button was pressed, please unplug the power cord from the machine and leave it unplugged for no less than 20 minutes. 7. Please then reconnect the power cord, ensuring that the cord is pushed in as far as it will go. 8. Press the ON/OFF button. If your PIXMA MX892 does not power on, it is recommended that you contact live technical support . There is NO charge for this call. Real time feedback of a live technical support call would be very beneficial in this case.
Please dial 1-866-261-9362, Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. ET (excluding holidays). A Canon technical support representative will be able to resolve this issue faster.

  • Display will not come back up after waking up Pro

Several weeks ago I increased the Pro's memory from 2 to 4GB. Since that time when I wake up the Mac, the display, (Westinghouse) will be all white. I then must turn it off and back on after that it looks OK. The increased memory might not have anything to do with the problem.

The obvious question is, if you go back to the original 2 GB configuration, does the problem go away?

  • HT2810 Apple HD Cinema Display will not come back on after brief power cut.

My Apple HD cinema display won't come back after a brief power cut.
There is the little white power light on the front which pulses on three times and then extinguishes, repeatedly.
The Mac itself seems to power up although it's hard to tell if it's bboting properly, as I cannot see anything on the screen.
There is power going to both units so I have no idea what is happening.

This sounds like a very common problem.  If the blinks are one short, one longer, one short..... long pause... repeat.... start searching this forum.   There are also Youtube videos on solving it.  If this is the problem, the solution is easy.  You block both center pins on the 10 pin power connector.   Its crazy but it works.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2086442?start=30&tstart=0
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vodDfic8omA
I just used a very thin strip of paper folded in half and slipped into the display's connector so it covers ONLY the two center contacts, then slip it into the power module very carefully.  Make sure there is some slack in the paper as otherwise it will tear and the contact will still be made.  If it doesn't work at first, try again as the paper made have torn in process.   It would be better to use something stonger like a very thin strip of mylar.   Or you can do what the video shows, but I didn't try that exactly.

  • Sound does not come back on after switching to silent

I have an iPhone 5 and quite often i have to switch my phone to silent.
When I switch the phone back to normal, there is still no sound & I have to turn the phone off & back on again.
Is there any fix for this.
Also When I hit an area of bad signal (like the underground) my phone goes into NO SERVICE, as you would expect, but when I'm back above ground, my phone stays on NO SERVICE, resulting in turning the phone off & on again.
As a result of this I have to check my phone regularly to make sure that I have service.
Is this a problem with my phone, or are other people having this issue.
Apart from that I'm loving the 5....

I've had this problem with my iPhone 5c since April 2014 through several updates of iOS.  In December 2014 I got my wife an iPhone 5s.  She has the same problem.   We're both seeing this on the latest update of iOS  version 8.1.3.

  • Since upgrading to 10.8.3 my key board backlight does not come on until I enter my password

(13" MBP mid 2010).  Since upgrading to 10.8.3 my keyboard backlight does not come on until after I enter my password and mac system comes up.  Before upgrade the keyboard backlight would come on right after I pushed the On button.  It makes it difficult to enter my password in a low light setting because I can not see the keys to type my password in.  I have been using the light off of the display to help light the keyboard to see to enter my password.  Any know fix for this?

    Hey Doug,
Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your keyboard backlight is not working upon startup, the following may resolve your issue:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
After performing normal troubleshooting, these symptoms may indicate that an SMC reset may be necessary:
    Lights
The keyboard backlight appears to behave incorrectly (on Mac computers that have this feature).
You may also want to reset your computer's PRAM:
OS X Mountain Lion: Reset your computer’s PRAM
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11243
Note: Resetting PRAM may change some system settings and preferences. Use System Preferences to restore your settings.

    Hi there,
after a regular system copy of our Java-only Portal the system does not come up.

only ONE directory , which is 'apps' .
database starts, but not the j2ee engine

The wish list only works on apps you have to pay for. To get it tap the icon of the app you want to save. After it opens at the upper right corner is a box with a arrow. Tap that then tap add to wish list list in the box that opens.

  • MBP does not come back after hybernation

    Hello everyone,
I am enjoying my MBP except for one problem. It does not come back after it hybernates sometimes.
I hit a key, hear the superdrive do it's "thing" and then after much waiting (approximately over 10 minutes) no picture or video on the screen!
I can tell that it's still powered on because it's plugged in and when I hit the Caps Lock key it lights on and off.
The only way that I can get it out of this state is to hold down the power button, unplug the power cord, take the battery out, hold in the power button for 4 seconds, reinsert the battery and power back on.
I have to then cycle the power back off because the first time it does not come back but I just get the blank white boot screen and no 'apple'.
When I turn it back on the second time, it boots up.
Anyone else have a problem with this?
    Thanks for listening!

    Hello Gweedo!
Yeah I have the same issue and am up to date. Apparently this is a pretty huge problem with the Macbook Pro since the last Graphics update after updating to 10.5.2.

I have been perusing through that topic and hopefully they will come up with a fix for this.
The only work-a-round that I have found (but haven't tested extensively yet) is to disconnect to the wireless, turn off blue tooth, disconnect my external monitor and then go into sleep mode. Then it always comes back. But if I leave it connected to the wireless, bluetooth, and external monitor - it's a crap shoot as to weather or not it will come back up.
This is pretty frustrating because half of using a laptop is being able to hybernate and sleep properly.
I even have the 'smartsleep' installed.
    Thanks for commenting everybody!

Just upgraded to latest iOS and my iPad does not come back up - the following appeared as the first thing after turning back on.  It displays a line from the power/USB connector to an iTunes logo and then goes off and after some minutes comes back on.  I cannot reset it or anything else.  It is completely non-functional.
