Portal problem with Internet Explorer 8.0

Hi,
We developed portal content on test with IE 7.0.
Now we are using IE 8.0 , portal content does not run properly.
Is there a practical way to fixing this problem?
Thanks.

in register "Extras" in IE8 you have an entry like "settings for compatibility view" ( I don´t know if its the correct description because i have a german IE8, but i think this should be right....)
There you have the option to activate the view for all or for specific websites. I decided to activate it for all websites, but its your choice if you only activate it for your portal. I did it because I had problems on other websites also...

    Hi efacg,
    Most printing issues are solved by resetting the Printing preferences. When you print from Firefox and you click on the down arrow, do you see Defualt and Firefox? Please make changes to the preferences here and preview the document.
    If this continues to be an issue please also see [[Fix printing problems in Firefox]]
    If there are any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask, we are here to help.

  • Javascript problem with Internet Explorer 6

    Hi together
    I have a problem with IE6 on a JSP page. I want to disable a HTML button calls
    'fehlerdetails' if one of radiobutton list has a value "FIID NOK".
    This Java script sample below is running with Netscape 7.0 but Internet Explorer get no objects back.
    Has everyone a idea how can I read a value from list:
    document.GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean.checked[i]
    with Internet Explorer 6??
    HTML Radiobutton (Struts):
    <html:radio styleClass="radioButton" name="GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean" onclick="checkAccountNr();" property="checked" value="<%= String.valueOf(j) %>">
    </html:radio>
    HTML Button:
    <td><input class='pushbuttonlarge' type="button" value="fehlerdetails" onClick="document.GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean.submit();" name="fehlerdetails"/></td>
    Javascript:
    function checkAccountNr() {
         document.GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean.fehlerdetails.disabled = false;
         var radioButtons = document.GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean.checked;
         if(document.GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean.checked > 0) {
              for(i=0; i < radioButtons.length; i++) {
                   if(radioButtons.checked) {
                        radioButtonAccountNr = radioButtons[i].AccountNr;
                        radioButtonFiidText     = radioButtons[i].FiidText;
                        if (radioButtonAccountNr == "ABACUS-NR NOK" || radioButtonFiidText == "FIID NOK") {
                             document.GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean.fehlerdetails.disabled = true;
    Thank you very much for you help.
    Cheers Robert

    first, this is a Java forum, not Javascript, and aside from the first 4 letters, the two have nothing in common.
    Second.. if there's more then 1 radio button named 'GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean', this:
    var radioButtons = document.GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean.checked;
    will be an error.
    var radioButtons = document.GetFailedPostingPositionListW3InBean;
    for(x=0; x < radioButtons.length; x++) {
       if(radioButtons[x].checked) {
          ... check the value and disable
    }

  • Spry menu problems with Internet explorer

    Hi everyone
    I'm having ongoing problems with my horizontal menus and
    internet explorer. They work fine in other browsers and with the
    generous help of others at these forums I've managed to sort out
    most of the problems. But I've hit a real wall with this one. The
    menus drop down showing the links OK but you cannot highlight or
    click on the options that drop down, they just appear as text. Any
    help would be appretiated. My appologies for posting in other
    threads also but just hoping for a response.
    I am very new to this side of design so simple answers would
    be very helpful. Thanks
    Bob

    I have 2 similar problems to the prior posts:
    1) I run IE7 and FF and the positioning of my submenus are
    skewed in IE only.
    2) I am not sure, but I believe I have a problem with my
    iframe appearing in my IE7 browser behind all of my submenus. Well,
    I know I have a problem with something, but whether or not it's the
    iframe I don't know. What I do know is that the box shows up like a
    border around my submenus and I can't get rid of it. I suspect that
    it may be caused by the fact that my menu buttons are imported
    gif's in the shape of rounded rectangles which allows for the
    corners to be visible. I actually just thought about it and my
    gif's are set to have a white index transparency, but maybe If I
    export the gifs without transparency, then that issue will be
    resolved. Well I will try that part and see, but any and all
    suggestions are welcome. Oh and I just remembered, that problem
    with the border around my submenus also has another problem with
    the word "false" inside of that border behind my submenus. This
    problem again is only in my IE browser, and it is hard to see it,
    but I have no idea why that is there or what it's from. I ran a
    search in my SpryMenuHorizontal.css page and in my html page for
    the word 'false' but nothing turned up. The only document related
    to this issue that contains the word 'false' is the
    'SpryMenuBar.js' document.

  • Can't get into talk talk email account in Mozilla, you have undefined new mails in your inbox message. No problem with Internet Explorer though

    I've been using the Firefox browser for nearly a year now but for the past three days I can't open my tiscali email account via Firefox. The message "you have undefined new mails in your inbox" comes up. Talk Talk technical help says there is a problem with Firefox and advised me to use Internet Explorer. I can get into my account through Explorer but would much prefer to use Firefox so please help me out.

    Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.
    You can find the instructions for that in a post on the TalkTalk forums: [http://www.talktalk.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=185113#post2452787 Firefox 4 & TalkTalk webmail - Forums].
    Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.
    Does it work?

  • Using 3.6.12, when I enter a bid on eBay, FF immediately signs off eBay. Never had that problem with earlier versions. I do not have this problem with Internet Explorer.

    Using FF 3.6.12, I can log onto eBay, view my account, rate a purchase or win, and search for items. In other words, pretty much do anything normally on eBay.
    But if I try to enter a bid on an item, the program exits eBay.com and I get the "You've Signed Off. See You Again Soon!" screen. This happens every time I try to enter or re-enter a bid.
    I've been using Firefox for a few years to bid on eBay without any problems. This started as soon as I upgraded to 3.6.12 a month or so ago. Any suggestions?
    I've been forced to use Internet Explorer just to get on eBay and bid now. Not nearly as fast and elegant as Firefox. Help!

    To re-install Lightroom 5.4, there's no need to go back to the original full version and systematically re-install every upgrade you've ever purchased in order to re-install the latest version. All you need to do is re-install your most recent version (in this case 5.4), enter your Lightroom 5 serial number then enter your Lightroom 4 serial number when prompted. That's it.
    How did you first license the Lightroom 5 upgrade on your computer? Since it's not a subscription version, you must have received a version 5 serial number somewhere in the purchasing process. Without a record of that, Adobe Customer Care may struggle with your case.
    If you're running Windows, you can try running the free Belarc Advisor which often successfully retrieves your full serial number from inside your computer.

  • Caching problem with Internet Explorer

    Hi,
    users of an ApEx application I'm working on are reporting that when they're deleting an uploaded file from one of the pages in the application (using Internet Explorer), the link to the file remains. This is however not an issue in FireFox, and after some research I found out that this is a caching problem in IE. It can be avoided by making IE check for newer versions of stored pages every time a page is visited, but it is clearly not an option to ask all our users to do this. I also learned that it can be fixed by randomizing the file URL every time the page is loaded, but I don't know how to randomize a URL, nor how to make it still point to the uploaded file.. Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    -Kjetil

    Kjetil,
    This problem is also there if you use Flash Charts with a drilldown. See this posting:
    http://www.deneskubicek.blogspot.com/
    It will also link you to a corresponding thread and to an example in my demo application.
    The idea with a random number changing you link is the same I used in extending my
    xml chart package.

  • Using Firefox 4.0.1, I am unable to "Compose", "Reply" or "Forward" messages in Yahoo Mail. I do not have this problem with Internet Explorer.

    Clicking on "Compose", "Reply" or "Forward" in Yahoo Mail does not do anything. I troubleshot the problem with Yahoo directly and they feel that the issue is with Mozilla Firefox. I do not have this issue when using Internet Explorer. Other buttons in Yahoo Mail, such as "Delete" and "Move" do work.

    I had the same problem and discovered it went away when I disabled the AVG Do Not Track extension on firefox.

  • Youtube video's seem to "freeze" the image while the audio continues playing. Never had that problem with Internet Explorer...how can I fix this?

    I used to use a different...server?...Internet Explorer. Before, when I used that, I could watch video's on youtube and they would run smoothly-image and sound in perfect sync. Now that I'm using Firefox per suggestion of a computer savvy friend, I can't watch youtube vid's in the same way. Most of the time, the audio will keep playing, but the image will stop. The only way I've discovered to prevent this is to be playing with the mouse on the side of the screen constantly. (which, when playing music video's for background while cooking dinner in the kitchen, it's rather impractical to be running back and forth to be playing with the mouse)
    I'm not a very computer savvy person. I'm using a laptop...it's an Acer...I think I have either Windows Vista or Windows 7...

    Thank you very much.
    I scanned my computer and see that it is not a virus problem. The problem lies with FoxNews.com not being compatible with the latest Flash Player or plug-in. I can view on-site videos from within Firefox on all sites except FoxNews. It is the only site that has a huge separating space in the middle of the front page. and that displays a large area of code words where it should have an ad: "clicksor_default_url = '';clicksor_banner_border = '#99CC33'; clicksor_banner_ad_bg = '#FFFFFF';clicksor_banner_link_color = "
    I ran the super bug-killer "ComboFix" (thinking the code was from the "Clicksor" virus) and was relieved to discover that it wasn't a virus.
    I can easily view videos on FoxNews from within Internet Explorer (and there is no "clicksor" code displayed in IE either). The problem lies somewhere within the Firefox version of Adobe's Flash Player /plug-in or FoxNews' incompatible code. Users are being kept up-to-date with the latest Adobe updates, but FoxNews must be using old software and needs to catch up. There must be a lot of people having this problem.

  • CSS Problem with Internet Explorer 8.0 Filters and linked reports

    Hi ,
    The Internet explorer 8.0 re presents the filter prompt for linked reports and a warning of "Prevention of XSS" is flashed on the browser. Is there a patch for this since changes in Interner explorer security setting are not possible to be changed in all clients.
    Thanks
    Regards
    Shivakanth

    Jovaini,
    IE 8 handles threads different than previous versions. Thus, if you sign into an APEX workspace and then try to start a new instance of IE 8, that process is no longer seen as a separate process like IE 6 & 7, but rather as another "tab", if you will. Thus, as soon as you log into workspace 2, your login credentials for workspace 1 are invalidated. This is true even if workspace 2 is the APEX Admin Console, as it uses the same underlying authentication mechanism.
    To solve this, you have a couple of options:
    1) Use two different browsers (i.e. IE 8 and Google Chrome).
    2) Use the hostname for one session and the IP address for another session. This will limit you to two concurrent logins.
    3) Either edit your local hosts file or if you can, have your network administrator create a number of aliases to the same APEX server. You can then use each alias for a different session with the same browser. APEX manages its session cookies based on the hostname, so if you have 10 aliases, you will be able to be logged into 10 separate workspaces within the same browser using this approach.
    Thanks,

  • NTLM problem with Internet explorer/windows

    Hello,
    I am sorry if this post is not in the correct forum but i really don't know where to put it.
    I need some help with this issue from my work as I am out of ideas and I don¹t find any similar issues on your lists/emails/faqs.
    I am using a server with CentOS6 and Squid 3.1.10 as a proxy. One of my teams needs to access to ISS 7 trough Squid for test and development purposes using only NTLM (required only NTLM). Squid server is accessing the AD and credentials are working. All
    tests performed with Wbinfo are successful. The access to the IIS ntlm site is successful from Firefox and Safari (not windows OS), all returning the message ³you are authenticated using NTLM². I try to perform the same test on several machines with Windows
    7 and Internet Explorer, most of them 11, and always get the message “Proxy isn’t responding”. GPO was altered on the windows for NTLM, ISS site is requesting NTLM with extended protection and kernel=mode authentication off. All suggestions from Microsoft
    were followed regarding NTLM configurations.
    Somebody as any ideas please??
    Thank you

    Hi,
    By default, if a client try connecting to a server supporting LM and NTLM, it'll adopt LM Authentication. So, please check in registry if LM and NTLM v2 are disabled.
    Open registry
    Locate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa.
    Add a new DWORD value named LMCompatibilityLevel
    Set its vaule to 2. For more details, please click
    here
    Close registry
    Reboot your system.
