Portfolio presentation

I am using Adobe to help in the presentation of a portfolio.  I am wanting to scroll the images from left to right (not top to bottom).  Is there a command or method to accomplish this?
Thanks

As Gary says...
>my local officeworks does not stock anything such
And most likely, never will.
Any decent-sized art supply store, particularly one near an art school should have a range of cases for you. Or try a large supplier, such as Pearl Paint: http://www.pearlpaint.com/shop~parentID~3999~categoryID~3998.htm
There are also presentations that are offered by some photo accessory outfits, such as Light Impressions if your work is fairly uniform in size (such as magazine advertising), single page, and mounted and laminated on board. See: http://www.lightimpressionsdirect.com/category.action?categoryId=9

  • "My portfolio" presents the reports in unrecognized format

    Hello,
Under the "Business Intelligence" tab in the portal a user can go to "My portfolio" and see there all the reports that have been published to him.
The iView uses a thumbnail layout and includes a download link that allows the user to download or view the report.
The problem is that when clicking on download the downloaded file does not have any extension and it is in unrecognized format.
If I view this file in the KM it appears to be with MIME Type: Binary file (application/zip).
If I save it as zip file (after adding .zip extension manually in the download window), unzip it and view it's index.html I than have a link to the report.
How can I save all this by simply providing the user a link to the report?

This problem has been resolved by changing the broacasting output format.

  • Portfolio features request:

some small features would greatly enhance the value of Portfolios:
    1) filename aliases so that we could create the names to display  instead having to display actual  filenames.
    2) Portfolios of Portfolios - incredibly useful if we could stack levels of portfolios. I discovered that it's 'almost' possible. We can create and access a portfolio inside of a portfolio. We just can't navagate back to the higher level portfolio once we've drilled down to a lower level one.  Maybe it needs an extra tool bar button that would action us to the highest folio level? I also noticed that calling a portfolio from within a higher level portfolio displays a "portfolio empty" message, even though it clearly is not empty. That would need to be fixed as well.
    3) Question?  Are the file icons displayed within  portfolio presentations 'removable'  and/or can other images be substituted for them?  (I'm a new user)
If not, that would be a great feature, too. The general idea behind these ( 1 and 3) feature requests is, from the clients point of view,  our presentations will be far more professional if we have the option of supressing any extraneous  (acrobat generated) display and can display only what we want seen.  For presentations to technical people it might be desirable to display filenames and such, but for others, such things only distract and  lower the production values of our work.

I completely agree with you. Also mine company, which bought and used "Presenter 7", and would like to upgrade to "Presenter 8" or "9 Presenter," But in the absence of this feature video capture for the sidebar is not acquistera "Presenter 9 "if you do not back the functionality and probably will try alternative software that do this.
So me too request to Adobe to reinsert this functionality in "Presenter 9" or alternatives of equal simplicity (eg the inclusion of a button "Capture Video" as in "Presenter 7" next to the "Recorder".

  • Getting a Portfolio onto the app store

We are a design agency who want to build a portfolio of our work using DPS and distribute it as a free single edition app on the app store.
Is apple likely to reject this, we instend to add a good amount of interativity to it so its not too book like, does any one have any examples of this type of app.
The adobe DPS app is kind of like a portfolio/presentation so if we aim for this level of interactivity would we be ok?

I have seen a SE portfolio on the app store before, I'll try and dig out the link to it.
I think, the more feature rich and immersive you can make it, the more they will probably accept it.

  • Looking for job PDF resumes vs html or doc resumes, what gives?

    Hi,
I've been looking for jobs and most of the sites that want my resume, monster, creative group, etc, all want it in doc or html format? what gives??? I designed this great looking resume in InDesign that converts well to PDF with nice fonts and I can't even use it !!!! Now I have to resort to times and other fonts using word to make sure that my resuem at least looks somewhere close to what it should be. What happened? I thought PDF was supposed to be used by all? why does everyone want this stuff in word?
Please shed some light on this for me,
    Thanks,
    Stan

    stan,
    >In reference to post 3, is that a bad thing? Should I be wary of employers trying to 'get my guard down'???
Yes. If I were interviewing, I would try to get you to relax and feel at home -- and then see how you, as a potential employee, handle that. I want to see if the person has a tendency towards office behavior that could be inappropriate or that does not fit in with my office environment. In today's market, I'd also be scouring Facebook and other social networking sites for info on candidates I'm considering.
And for the interview, generally dress and act appropriately for going out on a sales call for the potential employer's clients -- if hired, you may be expected to do that.
As for portfolio presentation, personally, I'd rather the portfolio binder be like the frame around a picture, not an in-your-face statement. Do you want interviewers to remember the binder or its content? But other folks running with more arty clients may have a different spin on this than I. And always stick a few extra résumés in the portfolio; the designed ones are fine there.
I once had a portfolio sent to me for review that was held together with more elaborate folds and strings than an origami dog walker. I had several additional portfolios still lined up with little time to review them. All I wanted to do is rip the damn thing open. And I can't remember anything about the work inside.
And network. Most jobs are through networking with friends, family, neighbors, acquaintances and sites like LinkedIn, etc.

  • HD DVD's Play on Windows PC?

    Hello all,
I created a HD DVD in DVD Studio Pro but would like to play it on a Windows PC. Can this be done? When I put the disk in it does not even recognize it and will not open at all.
    Thanks!

Darn, ok thanks. I have a bunch of really great HDV nature footage, as well as some other work that I was going to upscale and put on HD DVD for a portfolio presentation on a nice widescreen monitor. Maybe I will just have to get my hands on a Mac. Thanks again for the quick response!

  • Pro viewer

    hi all
i have this software called Pro-viewer which is a multi media portfolio
presentation program. The version I have is for os 9.
i have searched for this on the internet but can find no record of it or the publishers (e-magine). They seem, to have disappeared completely.
has anyone heard of this and know if there was a version for osx produced?
or has any information about the program.
    thanks
    kobalt

In google if u type quickoffce with base package or something like that u can get a file which u can directly install without having to install the base package, but problem is it s a trial version valied for only 7 days.
so if want quickoffice u need to pay for it, if u dont want to spend ur money go for Pixcel Smart office which is 100% free.

  • Content viewer starting at first page.

    Hello,
I was wondering if there is a way to configure adobe content viewer to start back to first page every time you switch from an article to another?
I've seen here that you can return to the first page by triple tapping on the article title :
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/help/preview-folios-articles.html
But for a portfolio presentation, it would be perfect to have the option to make the articles start to the first page every time.
Is there a solution to this problem?
    Thanks you very much,
    Samuel

    It can be done.
You tap the title of the folio on the menu bar.  Viewer version 32 and above can also use this command to make a button to reset to start
    navto://relative/reset
It is all on the Adobe help page below.

  • Spry Dataset loading question

I have a general question to any of the experts using the
Spry dataset. I created a test page that works beautifully, and
want to use it as a portfolio presentation on my website. It
automatically created two pages – the dataset, and it’s
data counterpart. The “data” page is a long scrolling
tabled page with a link/content/description column – the
“content” column cells each contain a fairly large
image that displays on the main dataset page in a
“window” as each item is selected.
My question is this – when the dataset calls/displays a
cell from the data page, is it only loading the image that’s
being called, or does it need to load all of the images on the data
page (even though they aren’t displayed until selected)? I
originally assumed they were being called individually, but when I
set up a similar page to display my flv and swf animations in, the
dataset worked - but when the first animation was displayed I could
hear the audio of all of the other animations that were on the
original data page at the same time. This leads me to believe that
there is a definite download/time issue on a page that has several
    fairly weighty images/animations...
This could be a HUGE shot in the foot if a viewer is browsing
on a slower connection. My current site uses flash with externally
    linked images and works perfectly:
    http://www.jgigandet.com/.
Each image loads only when they are called (but it’s a hassle
to make updates to the portfolio)… is there a way to only
load each image as it’s called using the spry menu?
Thanks to anyone who has any insight or advice,
    Jesse

I'm not feelin the love - is there another place we can ask
Adobe experts questions about their software? -
I just want to know how the spry dataset works, and if it's a
good choice for what I'm trying to do. I'm not looking to critique
or demean the technology - for the most part it works awesome. I
just need some clear paramerters of how it works, and if loading a
long list of large images will crash and burn on a slow
connection...? Does anyone have any other ways of contacting Adobe
support directly with questions such as these?
Thanks - this is my last post of this question to bubble it
    back to the top... promise...

  • Adobe content viewer for windows 7 or 8

i can't find Adobe viewer for windows

Well, I have the Adobe Cloud subscription which includes InDesign, so installing the Adobe Content Viewer is not a problem.
All I really want to know is if you can use touch controls to navigate in Adobe Contnet Viewer on the MS Surface. It could be unlikely but as Neil said above, it might magicly work : )
The reason I am looking at the Surface is because I thought it would be a good portfolio/presentation device to show to clients in a tablet form that could also show Flash which most tablets can't.
If it could show Adobe Content Viewer folios that I have already created for the iPad and utilize touch controls, that would be the best solution.

  • Presentation of my website as a portfolio

I have just begun with Dreamweaver and have created my first
website. I don't plan to have this site up on the internet yet but
instead I want to burn it to a CD and show it as a portfolio piece
to go along with my resume. My quesiton is this: Is it possible to
make the entire website executable by one icon, rather than being
able to see all my website files on the CD? I am imagining that
there should be an "export" function of some sort that would
combine my entire website directory (which is not huge) into one
    icon.
Basically, I think it just looks messy to present a cd with
    my entire website directory showing!
    What do you think?

    > I don't have my website on the www. I've just built it

    > when

You can get hosting pretty cheap these days...especially if
    it's just a
    static HTML site.

If you are a print designer, keep in mind that few art
    directors will bother
popping in a CD, let alone trying to get it to work.
If you are a web designer, keep in mind that they're going to
    want to know
that you actually have your own web site.
    > I just want a way to cleanly present my website to him..
Understood. What we're saying is that a website is going to
    be a lot
'cleaner' for the people you are targeting to get at than a
    CD might be.

  • App for presenting Photographic Portfolios - (other than built in iPhoto)

    Hello all !
I've been asked to investigate getting our Photographers Portfolios onto a couple of iPads we've bought.
I have been using the iPad for some weeks and yes the built in Photo app works ... But we're wondering if there's any "funky" apps out there to show off our pics instead of just drag and expand and drag next one and turn on slide show etc etc ...
Maybe like a "light table" with pics all over, not necessarily all squared up, but like moveable and rotatable (if thats a word) ... just something "different" ...
    Thanks guys (and girls) !
    Mitch

Mitch - The App Photo-Sort will definitely help - lets you put together presentations made of of selected images from multiple folders. It also has it's own slideshow feature which gets around several of iPad's limitations including: better slideshow timing control, eliminates annoying transitions, includes arrow keys so you can "tap" from slide to slide.
Another very important App for any of your company's Windows users is a free program called ExifDateChanger. As you probably already know, iPad re-sorts all images by date - no option to avoid. There's a manual workaround in iPhoto for Mac, but Windows users are required to alter image dates to control the display order of their photos.
Written by a frustrated iPad user in Swtzerland, ExifDateChanger is a "pre-processor" for synced images which alters their dates so they will always display in filename sequence. You can download ExifDateChanger at this link: http://www.tiltsoft.com/ipad.html

  • How do I develop a PDF Portfolio for a Dissertation Presentation?

How do I develop a PDF Portfolio for a dissertation International Review Board Committee?
    Thanks in advance,
    Pat

Do you want a portfolio for a committee which happens to be a pdf file or a PDF Portfolio (these are two different things). I am having trouble imagining a IRB committee asking specifically for a PDF Portfolio. I suggest you ask a member of the committee on the QT. You do not want to end up creating a pdf portfolio that some of the members do not know how to handle.

  • Please Help! Can't move forward.Portfolio Recovery and Stellar Recovery. WHAT'S NEXT?

I have the same story most have heard 100x. When I went away to college I racked up debt and made poor financial decisons because I didn't have a good concept of money and Credit. Credit like most teens was this invisible forever giving gift and if I paid the minimums I would be ok'. Suprisingly, my minimum wage retail job didn't provide a stable income and my balances grew. I got overwhelemed really quickly and instead of dealing with the issue. I did a out of sight out of mind. Fast forward to present and I am cleaning up all the mess I made at 18-21 Y.O.  From this site I have made a some nice leaps to the right direction. Last year around this time I was at a 420 now I am at a 612! Recently got engaged and me and my Fiancee are looking to purchase a home by the end of this year/ begining of next year. My income is stable, my career is stable, I have a little savings. The only thing holding me back is CS. I thought my best way to move CS faster is to get my 2 Collections deleted. One is from Stellar Recovery for 152 (old comcast bill/cable) from 2013 and the other is from Portfolio Recovery for 676 (I think old BestBuy cc) from 2012.  I sent Stellar Recover a DV letter it arrived today. I sent the letter because I have heard a lot of positive things about Stellar. That they delete a lot of accounts and they do so quickly. Also, with such a low balance, I am hoping they feel it's not worth the man hours to even try to look for the information. In terms of Portfolio Recovery I sent a DV letter but the address was wrong (got the alert today) so I called Fedex and asked them to return it. I think that might have been a great mishap. I have read many articles and PR and they seem to be known as the Sharks of the Debt Collectors and sometimes sending DV is a death sentence. I recently read article that you may not even be on their radar but when you send a DV you are letting them know you are a person who is conscience about his/her debt and wants to fix it; it's like blood in the water. They will now pursue you without abandon and possibly sue. My question is, should I send the letter or leave it be? I'm just worried since I am in SOL for both I don't want to draw unnessary attention but I also feel like a waiting duck and desperately want to move forward in my life.

In the same article the repoter was talking to some of the Employees. A staff memeber is quoted as yelling out "We got one" it was a man who had some really large medical expenses and had been unemployed for a very long time. As soon as he got his first paycheck they started in on garnishing his check. They are ruthless. I understand thay "we" owe debt and I understand it should be paid. But sometimes I think we forget about the hummanity of it all.  Your post was really helpful. I can learn from what you went through and avoid PR NightmareCthulhunoodle wrote:
They absolutely do. They informed me they had another debt under my name. From 1997. Well past the statute of limitations on that one, but I'm sure it won't stop them. Thank goodness I'm smart enough to hang out on this forum and seek sound advice. And the kicker... at the end of the phone call in which I'd paid my years long debt, they asked me why I'd defaulted in the first place. "Pregnant, lost my job and had to move into my mother-in-law's house. Bad time all around." She asked if I was employed now. I answered in the affirmative. Who's your employer, came next. My answer: "I'd prefer not to say." I'm sure if I'd replied it would be logged in a database somewhere, waiting to be used.
