Possible to Embed RSS Feed in Keynote?

Is there a way to embed a live RSS feed in Keynote so content can automatically be updated in presentations? (I'm reminded of Apple's OpenDoc capabilities as I ask this question!)

Hi people. Two questions
I have a self hosted i tunes u on mac server. Is it possible to edit rss feeds once they have been published by podcast producer? eg remove particular tracks from a particular feed or rename as track for instance?
Also when i tunes u is actually accessed through the interface no track time information is visible for any of of the podcasts? is this a common problem? and does anyone know how to solve it?

Your 'tunes:summary' in the top section of the feed has several instances of the string

You should remove these. You cannot have < or > within a tag and the code won't do either.
The URL in the 'itunes:image' tag includes an aompersand ('&') and this can cause trouble. You should change it to the wrod 'and' in the filename and in the feed (or call it something simpler, no-one sees the filename).
Your 'itunes:summary' and 'itunes:subtitle' tags for the episode have various codes in them - all starting &# something - iTunes will display these codes, not render them, and you should not use them. These tags should contain plain text, no html. This won't render the feed unreadable the way the other errors do, but it looks messy.

Using RSS feeds with keynote

Does anyone have an idea how to use RSS feeds within keynote? I don't believe there is any embedded function, but hopefully there is a workaround. Could you download the RSS feed, then somehow reference the text in keynote? Any ideas?

Easy to do this in Quartz Composer a free developer tool for visual programming. Other route is if you have Keynote08 you can make a hyperlink to a webpage. Save the slide and open in Keynote09 in which this function has been depreciated for whatever reason. Not sure if the RSS feeds will render but give it a try. If you don't have KN08 but can post the URL somebody will make it and post it for you to dl.

Possible to convert RSS feeds to iCal.

I don't particularly like the RSS list format of a website, and would prefer an iCal (which they don't offer). Is there anyway to convert the RSS information and import it into iCal?

Hello I need an expert's opinion please.
Is it possible to incorporate RSS feed into a newsletter? Let's say that a client has an RSS feed. Is it possible to add it in a custom-made newsletter campaign like mailchimp or any other campaign service? What do I need? Should the client provide me with something like an embedding code? Have you (experts) done anything similar?

Please note that the newsletter campaign is custom made but it runs perfectly with mailchimp but i haven't add any rss feed as yet.

Is it possible to embed fonts?

Is it possible to embed fonts into the keynote presentation? That way if the presentation is moved to another computer, the fonts will be the same?

Welcome to the discussions, finfin8.
No, Keynote doesn't allow fonts to be embedded into the presentation. If this is text that you aren't going to change, you always have the option of converting it to .pdf using Preview.
Copy the text
Open Preview
Command-N
Save As... PDF
Then drop that PDF into Keynote, position it where your text should be and you don't have to worry about not having that font anymore (though the presentation will still probably throw up an error message stating that it needs it).

IWeb RSS feed will not load with any site.

I am trying to display an simple RSS feed on my website and what ever site l use, BBC, France24, ABC, FOX News etc... whenever l copy and paste the RSS link in the widget and click apply. I am shown the message "The RSS feed source can't be reached. Try again."
Here is an example of how i'm inputing the RSS link:

RSS feed of top/recent/featured or search in iMixes?

I know that it's possible to create RSS feeds of certain aspects of iTunes through the iTunes Music Store RSS Feed Generator, but it doesn't cover the whole store-- specifically I'm looking for iMixes... any iTunes insiders care to share some details on how that might be possible?
I was hoping that something like the following example URL would work for this, but it does not:

Wordpress can construct a proper podcast feed, including the 'itunes:image, 'itunes:summary' and 'itunes:subtitle' tags; there will be places to enter this data but I'm afraid I can'd advise on WordPress. It does seem to have a steep learning curve as we see more problems with Wordpress podcasts than any other creation method.
Unless someone who happens to have got a WordPress podcast working happens to see your question and offer information I can only suggest that you look for a Wordpress forum or some Help on it.
Although it won't help you with Wordpress you might like to look at this page about podcasting basics: it includes a sample basic feed so that you can at least see what one should look like:

Hi all,
is it possible to create RSS feeds from the standard News items created with Form Based Publishing (XML Forms builders)? In other words, instead if just displaying those news items in the portal, can they be displayed in an RSS reader as well?
Since it's all XML I would say it is possible, right?

A simple java API to produce Really Simple Syndication (RSS) documents following the specification version 2.0

So generate the RSS in the KM folder where your XMLForm datas are saved.
After that create a component that accesses this RSS and shows it. You can use RSS Viewer librarys to achieve this:

So steps are:
1. Create RSS and save as resource in KM.

2. Read this resource using a component and create IView from this component.

Can I display RSS news feeds in Keynote?

I'd like to embed an RSS feed to display the latest news at the bottom of a presentation, as well as current weather information. Is this possible with Keynote '08? There are news ticker apps but none that overlay a Keynote presentation. Thanks!

This is not possible to do straight from within Keynote, but if you have an RSS widget you can float it above your entire presentation using this technique.

Help playing embed M4V from iTunes RSS feed

I'm having problems when playing embedded M4V files from iTunes RSS feed.
It works fine on Mac OS X but not on Windows. QT launchs correctly but nothing starts.
The code I use is simple but normally OK :

Firstly, iTunes is using the feed at http://sermon.net/rss/davidwiley/main rather than the URL you quote, though the two do look to be identical.
You have introduced a fatal error into your feed. The 'itunes:summary' tag for the episode of 1 December reads:

Because the entry has been truncated by the method you have used to create your feed the code your have presumably entered for an ampersand, &, has been clipped resulting in a stray ampersand. That is sufficient to render the entire feed unreadable. I would advise avoiding ampersands anyway, and using the word 'and' (it's also better grammar).
Correcting this should get your feed working again unless the same thing has happened further down. You are using the code " frequently - this isn't necessary, you can simply type the straight double quotes - " - without the need to code them (though this may be happening automatically).
As a result of this issue the feed shows with no episodes when subscribing in iTunes: the Store page is complete as it caches feeds - in fact it shows two later episodes than the one with the error, so possibly you've managed to introduce this at a later stage.

I've created custom theme for Keynote'08 and everything works fine.
My theme uses corporate fonts.
At the moment the theme is distributed with additional font pack and the user have to install both, but I'd like to simplify the theme installation process.
