Power mac G4 933mhz keeps making that Loading sound after everything is loaded?

Everyting loaded as always. But now the continual loading sound does not stop even though everything works fine. What could it be

Hi, what loading sound is this?
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

I tried the compressed air, Qtip, etc... still nothing. Called Apple again.... and we did a complete factory reset from iTunes, wiping everything out... still no sound, which proves that it is a hardward problem, under warranty, I have to have phone replaced   No Apple repair centers within 300 miles of me! So... shipping phone off today. Bummer.

  • My macbook wont boot up, black screen and the cd drive keeps making a constant sound. What to do?

My macbook wont boot up. When I turn it on, the screen turns black right away and the cd/dvd drive keeps making a constant "ejecting" sound.
The strange thing though is that once in a while starts up propperly, but suddely goes black again (after a min. or two), and the ejecting sound comes back. What to do, and yh, I've never done a back up so would it be possible to take out the HD and regain whats in there?
    Any help would be appriciated!

Hello. Try resetting the PRAM and SMC first.

What Apple guy?  Who did you speak with and why didn't they investigate the problem further?  Anyway, I saw something in there that says "Faulting CPU".

  • Power Mac G4 MDD keeps going into sleep

My G4 has a strange sleep issue. I'll be working on my Mac for a good hour or so when fan starts doing an imitation of an F15 jet engine. This is then followed by screen & Mac going into sleep mode. I hit any key & comes out of sleep momentarily then goes back to sleep. No matter how many times I hit keyboard it goes into sleep again. I finally have to shutdown which is tricky as often while trying to do so, will go into sleep mode. I've disconnected all USB/Firewire devices, ran Disk Utility/First Aid, reset PMU, PRAM & replaced battery. I've also taken out 2 x 512Mb additional Non Kingston RAM but didn't make any difference.I'm thinking it's got to be down to overheating/clocking as fan noisy & heat sink gets very hot. I've heard Tech Tool can elimainate these sort of problems & fix overclocking processor speed? I've looked at discussions but couldn't see anything that matched this ailment.
    Any help/advice greatly appreciated

If your Mac happily goes to sleep but won't wake up--Hold down the power switch to force-reboot your machine and get it running again.
Don't worry-your Mac isn't narcoleptic. Its Open Firmware system or NVRAM (nonvolatile RAM) is likely corrupt, and your Mac can't remember how to wake up.
    Try resetting the PRAM. This should reset the NVRAM on most machines, which is the suggested fix. If that didn't help, do the following manually;
Restart your Mac and immediately hold down the Command-Option-O-F key combo until you see a somewhat intimidating command-line display that ends with the Open Fimware prompt. Type the following line:
    reset-nvram
press the return key on your keyboard
    set-defaults
    press return
    reset-all
    press return
Your Mac will reboot. Once it's running, put it back to sleep to test. If the problem recurs your Energy Saver preferences may be the culprit. Delete the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist file (go to Finder/Hard drive/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration)--don't worry, your Mac will regenerate a new one--and then restart to see if that rights the wrong.
If you have a storage device mounted via a PCI card that doesn't support sleep read this Apple doc. Thanks Texas MacMan!
Still didn't work? Might be time to call AppleCare or see an Apple Genius or a technician.
     Good Luck! DALE

  • HT1694 I have followed the steps for setting up my hotmail account but my ipad, iphone and mac  but it keeps saying that either my username or password are incorrect

I dont know what else to do because i know that my password and email address are both correct because i logged in on outlook.com and they worked there
    Any suggestions?

I was having the exact same problem until I found this website:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOHX1-DUuPY
I followed the steps, and it worked!
    Good luck!

  • Mail keeps making new mail sounds for emails I get that dont trigger notifications.

I want to have the noise happen, but only if it also triggers a notification. I have plenty of rules that shunt emails off to various folders, but the messages that go to main inbox make a notification, and the others dont.
tl;dr -> notification iff sound for new mail

So now everything is working again all one its own on my computer and the icloud page but not on my phone.

  • Mac Book Pro late 2012 super drive making a weird sound after boot up

hey , i just bought my mac book and i was wondering if the weird boot up sound that seems to come from the superdrive that sounds like a robot is normal. I'm quite afraid my mac might be broken? as my previous 2011 model does not make this sound.
    Side Question:-
My mac book is new and it had it's first crash today due to me downloading a torrent. Is this normal? when it crashed it deleted the torrent that i was trying to download half way and it returned me back to my desktop, before it crash it gave me a message saying something like " your mac has crashed please press any key to restart" i forgot the message but it was something like it , and could this possibly mean i can't download torrents anymore?
Thanks for reading and taking your time to answer my questions much is appreciated.
P/S: My mac is running OS X 10.8.2

  • There is a listener that will start after the Frame loaded...?

    ?

So much for being a nice guy and answering a simple question...its
not like he was asking us to write code for him.If you read my other posting on the forum my answers are generally filled with valuable information and usually working code.
This answer was based on previous experience with the OP. In my mind the OP is lazy and doesn't listen to advice given to him. For example virtually every question the OP has posted is Swng related. And you know my standard reponse when OP post the question in the wrong forum. Well the OP hasn't changed his habbits, so I'm not going to to jump through hoops to solve the OPs problem.
In fact I did give the OP advice. I gave him a simple problem solving skill, which is on how to use the API to your advantage. It would only take 5 minutes to read through the API and find all the addXXX methods.

  • Page loads, sound plays; prefer page loads, sound not play

    Insert>Media>Plug in
I select a sound file, OK.
When I publish the page, it even puts a play/stop controller.
BUT the sound plays when the page loads, instead of waiting
for some one to hit "play".  I want no sound until some one
hits "play". (I dont want a new page to open, just play
in the web page  Also, the page wants to use quick time player.
Is that necessary?  Is there a better way?
    Anyone, thanks !

  • Logic kepp loading sound after saving...

    Hello,
Does someone know how to parameter the asset dialog page, to avoid logic reloading sounds, on and on, after each save ? I only use internal logic soundbanks, no third party stuff.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You should be naming your audio files properly.
Lemme guess : your audio files are named "Audio 1, 2, 3, etc..." ? Right?
When you tell Logic the Audio Record Path, you should use the checkbox labelled "Use Track Names for Audio file names"
Then label all your tracks "Track Name" what they are...e.g. el. guitar close mic, left bongo under mic, submarine experimental synth mic, etc... and the audio files will follow this naming convention.
    Cheers

  • DVI to s-video adpater for Power Mac G4?

I'm attempting to view digitial photos on my Power Mac G4 on an HDTV with an s-video connection. I've tried Apple's "DVI to video adapter" for the Power Mac G5, but it doesn't work, even after clicking "Detect Displays".
Is there a DVI to s-video adapater from Apple or anybody else that will work with the Power Mac G4? If not, are there any other options?

The Apple DVI to Video converter only works with certain graphics cards. The card has to be able to generate interlaced video at the correct scan rate, and modulate the color onto a carrier signal. For other card you would need a scan converter like:

This device has a VGA input, so you might need a DVI to VGA adapter. There may be other devices available with DVI input.

  • Power Mac G5 dual processor problem

So I've got a Power Mac G5 Dual 1.8Ghz that I bought used that only had one processor working. When started up, the screen hangs after the gray start up screen. I figure replacing both processors would fix the problem. Having bought 2 new processors, I installed them and now the computer won't boot at all. The power light comes on but doesn't stay on, the fans spin but nothing comes up on the screen. Is this a logic board problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jade8503, and a warm welcome to the forums!
After changing CPUs you need to calibrate everything for one, look for Apple Service Diagnostics, ASD 2.6.3 I think, not sure which G5s that is for actually, but it's a start.
2.5.8 should work on that machine as well.
