Power point report using LabVIEW

Hai,
i am trying to generate some kind of reports in power point tthrough labview.
I have been searching in the net. i don't get the complete details like creating new slide , editing it and so on. Rather i could get details only for running the slide show.
i have tried with activex vis automation open.vi with the reference as MS- power point documnet window, slides ,etc.
that vi throws "not creatable object" for almost all reference except power point application reference.
Has anyone done this kind work with labview.
If anyone has idea about this please tell me how to do this.
Thanks,
sathish

Hello,
I think you also sent an email.  I'll post some information for the masses as well:
The following is a very useful msdn.com document - a useful place to find information about microsoft products such as powerpoint.
Microsoft PowerPoint Objects http://msdn.microsoft.com/archive/default.asp?url=/archive/en-us/office97/html/web/006.asp
For adding a slide, see the quoted text in that document and corresponding example which starts "The following example adds a slide to the beginning of Sample Presentation."
Remember, the ActiveX API exposed by Powerpoint (or any other application with an ActiveX Server) is entirely independent of LabVIEW, so even a text based example suffices to elucidate the necessary calls to the API.  It turns out that with a "presentation" reference we can get a "slides" reference using a property node, and then get to the "add" method using an invoke node.  The attached screenshot (also shown below) shows how to expose this method in LabVIEW.
Thank you,

  • Ppt generate power point report

    Hello,
how could I generate a report in power point (ppt) in labview?
I do the analysis of some images and I can generate a report in Word (doc), but need to generate in ppt, I saw that on a make tools it provides the option of generating reports in excel and word.
I am using labview with vision module.
    Thanks very much.

Yes, we know what PowerPoint is. That doesn't mean one knows how to automate it. Microsoft provides an ActiveX interface for Microsoft applications so other programs can automate it. Thus, this is what you have to do. There is a chapter in the LabVIEW Help on how to use ActiveX. There are also examples that ship with LabVIEW that use ActiveX to automate Excel. Automating PowerPoint will follow the same approach. You can also read this: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/2983
Examples on automating PowerPoint have been posted before. Search the forum. You may also be able to find examples in the Community section. Again, search.
You may also want to consider using Word or Excel instead. Then you'd be able to use the Report Generation Toolkit from NI.

  • Creating Power point presentations from LabVIEW

I need to create a microsoft power point presentation from LabVIEW. Has any one worked with power point from labVIEW.

Yes I have done PP in LV.
    Quick suggestions to start.
    1) Use activeX. Provided you do not try to use the events from PP you should be able to do most of what PP offers.
    2) Before starting, make sure you have "help for VBA" installed. This can be isntalled from the MS source disks and doing a custom install. Without this, you will have no clue as to where to find things.
    3) Check for VBA examples of what you are trying to do.
I have never composed a PP presenstation via LV. Check the VBA help to see if this is possible.

  • How create animated power view reports using sharepoint list as a data source in sharepoint 2010?

    Hi All,
I got a client requirement to create reports using SharePoint List as data source. The report should show reflection depends on values changed (I mean animation).
I have heard about the power view/power pivot which does this kind of animations in reports.
Can someone please guide me on creating reports which shows animations
In power view/power pivot using SharePoint List as data source in SharePoint 2010.
    Thanks in advance.
    MercuryMan

    Hi MercuryMan,
Yes, Power View, a feature of SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 or SharePoint 2013 Enterprise Edition, is an interactive data exploration, visualization, and presentation experience.
It provides multiple views featuring tiles, slicers, a chart filter, and a number of visualizations, including cards, small multiples, and a bubble chart. So, we can use Power View to do intuitive ad-hoc reporting for business users such as data analysts, business
    decision makers, and information workers.
Currently, Power View report only supports two types of data models: PowerPivot Worksheet, and data models based on Analysis Services Tabular Model or Multidimensional Cube.
In your scenario, you can create PowerPivot worksheets using SharePoint List as data source, deploy the PowerPivot worksheet to a SharePoint Library or PowerPivot Gallery, and then generate Power View reports based on the PowerPivot worksheets on the SharePoint
    site.
To use SharePoint List as data source in Excel PowerPivot, you can refer to the following resource:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh230322.aspx
To create a Power View report based on PowerPivot model, you can refer to the following links:

  • Automate MS Power Point by using JAVA

    Dear all,
I would like to write a JAVA program that can open the the MS Power Point file and then use the events to ask the power point to show the slide or go to a particular slide. I would like to know is it possible to do so??? Becasue these are 2 different company's developement thing......
It is very improtant for my final year project thanks for help!!!
Please email to tell me. My email address is: [email protected]
    Thanks so much~~~
    Cheers~~~
    Yours,
    Ramond

I agree with the point of using another language than java, if this is still possible.
If java has to be used, you need either some kind of COM bridge (never heard of that), JNI (java native interface), which can be difficult or - which is my preferred solution - write an external program (.exe file) in a "native" language like Visual Basic of C/C++ which does the COM calls. Call the program with Runtime.getRuntime().exec().
If you are following my proposed approach and you are using a language different from C/C++, could you please tell me how this worked out for you ? My email address is [email protected]
    Good luck

  • How to Create Power View Report using power pivot file in SharePoint 2013

    H,
I have power pivot and Power View excel files. Now i want to create the Power View report in SharePoint 2013.
    What steps should i use?
Can anyone help me on it.
I need detailed step by step procedure.
    Thanks & Regards
    Poomani Sankaran

    Hi Aditya,
    Thanks for your reply.
I am using Enterprise edition of SharePoint 2013 only. SQL Server 2012 SP1.
I have configured Reporing Services also successfully. I got "Reporting" folder in "15" hive location "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\WebServices"
SSRS Service application also i have created success in CA Manage Service Application.
I have done "Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint" also which is "rsSharePoint.msi".
What should i do apart from this? Can you tell me. Its frustrating like anything.
I have added the "PowerPivot" excel in "PowerPivot Gallery" and clicked the icon "Create Power View Report"
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Power Point Report Default

Can anyone tell me how I can change the default Power Point Template to point to a template from my company, not the National Instruments Template.

    Hey Blane63580,
The default PowerPoint template is located in the DIAdem installation directory, installed by default to the following location:
    "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\DIAdem 2010\Resource\PowerPointTemplate.ppt"
I recommend you rename that file but keep it as a backup, and then add your file with template in its place (and renaming it to PowerPointTemplate.ppt).

  • How can I find outliers in a DIAdem report using LabVIEW

I am new to DIAdem and I am trying to take a DIAdem report and find the outliers and mark them with an 'X'. I found an example of this but it uses a VB script. The example has a constant to determine what is an outlier. I need this to be a variable. Thanks for the help in advance.
    AJL

    Hello AJL,
an easy way to realize your task would be to use the VBS script you allready found.
You can call a VBS with the "Diadem run script.vi". Inside the VBS, just locate the parameter you want to change and replace it with one of the DIadem Variables (for a realvalue you could use R1 for instance). You do not need to declare those internal variables initially, they are part of DIAdem and free for everybody to use. Just make sure it is not used a second time in the script you are calling. Then, prior to running the script you just have to set the respecting variable with the "DIAdem variable set.vi". This allows you to change DIAdem command parameters from your LabVIEW vi.
Both VIs I mentioned above are part of the LabVIEW DIAdem Toolkit. In case you don't have it yet, you can download the functions at

  • How to power a motor using labview DAQ output signal

The power from labview is not enough to move a decent-sized motor (works with tiny one). Is there any electrical component/device that I can use to sort of increase it (something in between output from labview and the motor)?
    Thanks

LabView is a software and does not supply any physical signals. To generate physical signals you need an interface board, NI has plenty of them which can be controlled via LabView. Anyhow, as you mentioned, digital i/o interfaces can handle currents in the mA range only. I think the best way to control motors via LabView and an interface board is using an additional relay driver board. Since relay contacts only switch power and do not supply any power you will need an external power supply matching the voltage and current specs of the motor.

  • Component "power dissipation" report using Multisim

    Hello,
I have a large design that has 66 resistors and 38 transistors.  As a sanity check, I'd like to be able to have Multisim let me know the dissipated power in each of these components.  I know how to do this on a component by component basis in the DC Operating Point setup.  Is there an easier way to get this info without creating a model/device parameter for "P" for all of these components?  It would seem I'm overlooking something...
    Thanks!
    John

Thanks for the reply.  Wiring in all those wattmeters would be even worse!
Here's what I did, although I'm sure there must be an easier way:
I exported the Multisim netlist to a .CIR file.
I then wrote a C++ program to read in the CIR file, find all the resistors, diodes and transistors then generate another file containing series of SPICE commands that could be run using "User Defined Analysis".  It works!
    Here's what my program outputs:

  • Programmatically transform xml report using Labview

I want to transform the standard xml report from Teststand into a more user-friendly file format for users that need to view reports, but don't have access to the test station.  Check out the attached code.  It should work, but I get this error. "Objects of type 'Script2' do not have such a member"  'Script2' is referring to the msxsl:script javascript node in the Teststand horizontal.xsl stylesheet.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I agree with kwkengineer.  The HTML report is fugly... haha.  You can change the colors but I still don't like the format.
    kwkengineer,
I was actually trying to do the same thing as you.  We have customized our style sheet and now people are complaining because they need it and the xml file to view it.  I also don't want to rewrite the HTML generation.  I might welcome the task if we were using the new version of TestStand with plugins but we aren't, and it's too expensive to upgrade right now.
I do know that if you right click on the report in the viewer and choose "view source" you will get an html output of your xml report.  So my question is, and I dig around some more because I've only spent about an hour on this, how does the viewer in TestStand translate the xml report to the html one that is displayed in it.  I noticed there is a TempReport.html in the report folder.  However, it disappears when you close the finished execution.
Not sure if any of this is helpful but I will spend some more time routing around.

  • How do I covert a pdf file into a Power point presentation using Formcentral?

I bought this program in order to convert large pdf files into powerpoint presentations, using 1 page in the pdf to eqaul 1 slide. However, upon buying said software I quickly figured out that it would not let me do anything of such kind. It won't even let me import my pdf files! What am I doing wrong?  Thanks! - John

FormsCentral is all about forms. You should have purchased the CreatePDF service (www.adobe.com/createpdf)
You can call up support and cancel your subscription, then purchase the other product.

  • CREATING POWERPOINT REPORTS USING JAWIN

    Hey all,
I have a certain requirement in creating a power point report through java using[b] jawin.
I want to create a report in the Power Point with all the values coming from some java object, say for example an array list or any collection objects. It should also be able to display some images.
It would be very helpful if anyone could send in some sample code as its a very urgent requirement. and since am new to JAWIN.
Also, is there any other better option to do this other than using JAWIN?

    Hi,
You can give a try to :
    - JACOb at http://sourceforge.net/projects/jacob-project/
    - SWT at http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-ActiveX%20Support%20in%20SWT/ActiveX%20Support%20in%20SWT.html
    - POI at http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/
    - check OpenOffice2 : it can save M$ format and has some java interface like beanshell.
