Power Query for Google Sheets

Does anyone know of any plans to create an add-on for Power Query in Google Sheets?   I have played with the IMPORTHTML function but it doesn't provide the same data manipulation tools the PQ does.   I haven't had any luck finding anything in Google
searches.
Thanks

Here's a way you can do this without a built-in connector:
Make your Google Docs workbook visible to anyone that has the link (or public).
Go File > Download as > Microsoft Excel.
Get the link that was used in the browser's download manager.
Go in PQ > From Web.
Paste the link.
Click "OK"
The workbook will be download as an Excel workbook and opened in PQ.

  • Power Query for Excel login/connection issue.

    Hi all
I have recently installed Power Query for Microsoft Excel in MS Office 2013.
I can connect successfully to the all the BI Universes, create queries & design reports in Excel.
The problem that I have is that I can only do this with the Administrator account. The Admin account is the only account that can connect successfully to the BI universes.
I have created test user accounts, test groups and assigned security to basically reflect the same rights as the Admin group, but to no avail.
I have also assigned security to these users & groups on the application level (RESTful Web Service, Universes, Connections) , but no luck.
It constantly says : "Access to the Resource is forbidden"
The last thing I want to do is make the users part of the Administrator group. I'm sure you guys would agree that that would be like opening Pandora's Box

    Hi Liang,
Power Query is part of Excel 2016 and can be found under the Data tab.

  • Power Query for Excel - Need Help with Oracle SQL Syntax

    Hello everyone,
I am new to Power Query and am not able to figure this out.  I am trying to pull in data into my Excel spreadsheet using a specific Oracle SQL query.  While in query editor, how do I take the Oracle.Database function and add my SQL statement?
I already know what I want, I don't want it to download all the table names.  According to the help page, I should be able to do this but it does not provide a syntax example
Also, I don't understand what "optional options as nullable record" means.
Below is what function and arguments the help page notes.  How do I use this?
Oracle.Database(server as text, optional options as nullable record) as table
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Jessica

When I try this, I get an error
DataSource.Error: Oracle: Sql.Database does not support the query option 'Query' with value '"Select * from Owner.View_Name"'. Details: null
I'm trying to download oracle data from a view into power query - Power Query navigator does not list th eviews from my source, it lists only the tables. When I try write sql statements, it throws me the above
error. This is what I tried
     Oracle.Database("Source/Service",[Query="Select * from Owner.View_Name"])
Any ideas how to fix this?

  • Where to find the timeout setting for connecting to SAP Bi Universe in Power Query for Excel

    Hi All,
I am trying to connect a SAP BI Universe. I am able to login to the environment and get the list of folders. But on trying to use the universe inside the folder, I am getting a time out error. The time out happens exactly at 100 seconds always.
DataSource.Error: SapBusinessObjects: The operation has timed out
Can you let me know if any setting can be done to avoid this timeout and get the universe into power query?

I have the same problem with Version: 2.17.3850.242. It times out after 100 seconds.
In addition, I couldn't report it by sending a frown. Get the following error message
Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c'

  • Query for Balance Sheet comparison Actual/Plan

    Hello,
I try to create a query in the BEx using the cube 0FIGL_V10 to display the balance sheet and p/l statement in BI. It works fine with comparison actual/actual but I don't know how to make a comparison between actual and plan figures.
I am using as filter criteria the dimensions value type ([0VTYPE 10 which is actual and 0VTYPE 20 which is plan). But how is it possible to display it in the right line and columns.
I need to fix this be the end of next week. So please answer as soon as you can.
Thanks a lot for your help.
    Regards
    Robert

    Hello Sam,
thanks a lot for you pretty good answer. It works perfectly but there is one thing left, maybe you can answer that too:
I want to display 3 actual periods but only one plan period. How can I realize this?
Thanks again for your prompt help.

  • How To Query for Balance Sheet Report

    dear experts,
I have no experience in accounting. I want to create Balance Sheet Crystal Report like B1. If u have any idea, pls let me know.
    best regards,
    zzymt

    Hi,
From the JDT1 table you need to sum the amounts of debit and credit fields to get the value based on the refdate field. Taking a total before a refdate will be the opening balance and during the reporting period with the current balance.
Check if you get the desired result.

  • How to disable update notifications for Power Query?

Is there a way to disable the notification of available updates for Power Query? Command line switch on install, anything?
    Thanks!

it was included in the Power Query version released in September 2014. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Power Query for Excel DisableUpdateNotification dword 1 will disable the update notification.

  • I found a bug in Power Query. Anyone know why this occurs?

It took some time to isolate the cause of this.
One of our SharePoint sites couldn't successfully be connected to with Power Query for Excel 2013.  We would receive this message: "DataSource.Error: OData: The feed's metadata document appears to be invalid."
I made a site template and started making copies of the failing site in order to test the cause of the error.
I narrowed it down to 16 lists that, if present on the site, would cause the connection to fail.  Those lists' names were simply numbers.  For example: "1", "2", etc.
I noticed in the Listdata.svc feed for the site that only the choice columns were included in the metadata and not the single line of text column names.  In Listdata.svc, it appends a "c_" in front of the both the list and choice column
names if the list name starts with a number.
After many tests I believe I have confirmed you cannot start the name of a list with a number IF you have a choice column in that list.  Anyone know why this is?

    Hi,
Thanks for reporting this issue. Would you be able to capture some Fiddler traces and send them our way so we can take a closer look at the underlying errors?

  • Hide the update power query notification

I've recently installed Power Query for Excel 2013 Pro Plus. (not click-to-run)
Power Query has been updated already and now this message is appearing on all the user's computers.
Any ideas as to how I can hide this message using the registry and/or group policy?

There is no way to hide the notification, though I believe the most recent version will annoy you less often than previous ones. When you go to the "About" prompt on the Power Query tab, what version number does it show?

  • Power Pivot & Power Query

I have very recently purchased yet another copy of Office, I now have every version from 97-2013, all Pro versions. I downloaded powerpivot for 2010 and that works fine. When I purchased (directly from MS) 2013 I thought powerpivot came with it as standard.
I am agahst that it doesn't, I tried downloading it only to be told "I do not have the correct version"!!!
What is going on MS?? nowhere does it say "CAUTION this Pro version does not have PowerPivot or PowerQuery, oh and what's more you can't download it either!"
I am a developer who constantly hears from clients "I'm not having 2013..." maybe they know more than I do eh?
    Come on please play fair!

    Hi,
Which Office 2013 version are you purchased? Office 2013 Professional or Office 2013 Professional Plus? As far as I know, Power Pivot & Power Query
are available in the Office 2013 Professional Plus and Office 365 Professional Plus editions, and in the standalone edition of Excel 2013, not Pro version( If you only purchased Pro, you can't use them)
Now Power Pivot is built-in add-ins with Excel 2013, we do not need to download it, just enable it.
    Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
In the Manage box, click COM Add-ins>
    Go.
Check the Microsoft Office Power Pivot in Microsoft Excel 2013 box, and then click
    OK.

  • Need to install Power Query with Internet Explorer 8

Hello, could someone please help me?
I need to install Microsoft Power Query to allow me to easily merge excel tables from different worksheets (files).
The problem is that I am restricted to Internet Explorer 8.
Here are my specs, I cannot change these:
    Windows 7, 64-bit operating system
    Excel 32-bit, Professional Plus 2010
    Internet Explorer 8
When I try to install Power Query, I get the message that I need IE 9.
I and others have other browser-based tools that only work on IE 8.
There must be some work-around for this.
I do NOT require the internet-searching feature of Power Query.
    Here are some possible options?
Go into Control Panel and manually switch IE versions each time (not a feasible method at all)
Force Power Query to work using Chrome or FireFox instead
Disable certain features of Power Query to allow installation with IE 8
This is really disappointing, I don't understand why we can't just have Power Query install regardless of IE version.
Some functions could be disabled, but at least we could still use the actually important tools.
Thanks for your help. Any input is appreciated.

    Hi,
    As far as I know,
Microsoft Power Query for Excel requires Internet Explorer 9 or greater. Windows operation system will check the system requirements before starting installation. Thus, we could not do the options which you mentioned above.
Then, we may try to find the workaround to get your original purpose: Merge excel tables from different worksheets (files).
    1. Try to use
    PowerPivot
    http://www.powerpivotpro.com/2012/09/combine-multiple-worksheetsworkbooks-into-a-single-powerpivot-table/
Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.
    2. Try to use VBA code
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/gg549168(v=office.14).aspx
    3. If you have Excel 2013, we may try the new featuer "Data Model " in Pivot table:https://support.office.com/client/Tutorial-PivotTable-data-analysis-using-a-Data-Model-in-Excel-2013-f9ad8310-3b5b-48a3-913d-5cc1b364ee46
    Hope it's helpful.
