Power surge now nothing but issues.

So I had a power surge (no protector...I know dumb) and my pc restarted. When it came back on it loads the bios. If I leave the bios, it beeps once long and then 2 short and goes to black screen. Everything I read says that it means my video card is shot. Here is what I am running:
MSI FM2-A75MA-P33
AMD A10 680K
So having said that I am running integrated graphics. Does this mean my processor is shot or did I fry something on the mobo? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ok it is sounding like the surge maybe has killed the CPU or fried its memory controller!
one lastage thing to try is a CMOS clear >>Clear CMOS Guide<< remove the power cord and do a clear and leave the battery out for 5 mins and put it back in and see if it works then!

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

There's plenty of time to experience the worst; no sense in looking for it.
Based on the symptoms you describe, resetting the PMU may well take care of the problem. This Apple KBase article provides info on doing that -

Although that article is written around a G4 (AGP) model, it applies to all G4s except the G4 (PCI) model. The location of the PMU button will vary on different models; it's usually near the battery.

It is possible, too, that the internal battery may need replacing. You can get a replacement at places like Radio Shack for about $US 15.

"It is quite possibly the hard drive is failing or has failed. The reason you can't get into the bios or boot from a CD/DVD is because the bios it hanging trying to recognize the hard drive. Try removing the hard drive and see if it will allow you into the bios or boot to a CD/DVD. If it does, go the hard drive manufacturer's support site, downlod their hard drive diagnostic ISO image, then use the burn from image option to create the self booting cd, then boot to it and run the most exhaustive diagnosis on it if it will boot. If you can't get it to boot to the diagnostic disk while the hard drive is installed you'll more than likely need to replace the hard drive.
If it won't get you into the bios or boot to a CD/DVD with the hard drive out of the system you need to try reseating the ram. If that doesn't help you probably have a bad motherboard. In this case it would more than likely be cheaper to just replace the laptop than fix it."

Imac crashed & now nothing but blue screen

Hi, i am hoping that someone will be able to help me with my problem. I was on my imac trying to sort out the configurations for my internet and randomly the screen went dark and a big error message popped saying a fatal error had occured and urgent that i restart by holding the power button down. So i did, the loading screen appeared as usual, but after that when the normal screen with everything on it is meant to appear, all i get is a plain blue background.I am concerned that it has erased everything from my mac, unless it's hiding all the bars and menus??? Please help me! thanks

OK, one good thing to check first is that the computer is not set to start up from a "NetBoot" - head to the System Preferences / Startup disk and ensure that your HD, not Network Startup Disk, is selected there. If Network disc was selected there, then select your internal HD instead and try a regular restart.
Once you have this possibility out of the way its a matter of working out what is stopping the normal login process from occuring.
First of all start up Disk Utility , select your HD and "repair permisions". Now try a restart. If all is well, then you are done.
If you can still only start up in Safe Mode then we need to look at some more things.
With everything disconnected except your keyboard and mouse try a normal restart. If it works now, then either the "Safe Boot" has repaired some underlying directory issue and everything will now be fine, OR one of your peripheral devices is causing the problem. Reattach your peripherals one at a time and retest. If you find that one device stops you from restarting properly then either there is a problem with the device or its cable, or there is a problem with its "driver" installed on your computer. Check the manufacturers site, see if there is any information about incompatabilities with recent versions of OSX. If there is not, download a fresh copy of the latest Mac driver for OSX, install it, and try again.
If the Mac still WOULDN'T start up properly with no peripherals (except mouse and keyboard) attached then the explanation will probably lie in a startup item, login item, or plist associated with the booting process. Post back and we'll move on to the next phase.

Nothing but issues!

For the first few months my Incredible was well, incredible, but i had the same issues as everyone else with the low on space messages. Whatever that can be and has been fixed. My phone freezes all the time. My phone reboots ALL the time. I had to factory reset my phone because i couldnt get into market place and thats all the verizon help desk could figure out. back up assistant didnt "backup" all my contacts which ****** me off and i almost switched providers then. Today my phone randomly rebooted, didnt think much of it because as i stated earlier this happens all the time. about an hour later i look at my phone and it factory rest ITSELF!!!! contacts gone, pictures that werent on SD card gone, aps not on SD card gone. Everything is gone off my phone, even the favorites widget that i LOVED. i am so unbelievably disappointed with this phone. The last thing i want to do, for the 3rd time, is go through and put pictures back on peoples contacts... not to mention i cant even do favorites without downloading an ap for that. UGH

The main problem I have with the phone is the 3G signal is unacceptable for a phone marketed on the fact that its 3G. I have a Nokia N95 on the same network and the 3G on the N95 is full bars but the iphone only has one or two dropping up and down al the time. I know i'm not alone on this one, sure ya turn off the 3G but whats the point when its main function is its 3G service. My partner got a iphone too he has the same problems coincidience ? I don't think so.
Apple really really need to get there act together on this one , clearly the firmware/antenna is not up to scratch! Version 2.0.1 does not really address this issue , well not for me anyway.
Also minor nigal , why have an alarm clock if the alarm doesn't work when the phone is off ! There is no point having a great smooth operating phone if all the functions do not work , even the mior ones shows a bit of neglect on aples part!!

Updated and now nothing but weird picture?

I updated my Apple TV and now all that shows up is a picture of my AppleTV being connected by some sort of USB wire to the iTunes symbol. What does this mean? I've unplugged and tried other methods that are supposed to reset this.

Hi Coronis, It’s a bummer that Apple gave our ATV units a bad firmware update and we have to go through the trouble of resetting the ATV device with a micro USB cable. It’s very aggravating, but I’m thankful for all the advice that was given over the Apple Support Community Site.
What you do is plug in the Micro USB cable from your ATV device into your Mac
and it will properly reset and update the ATV. You’ll have to do your passwords and other ATV setting all over again as usual after a reset.
A Micro USB cable is available at macmall.com for a low cost that should help those who don’t have one. You might be able to use a Micro USB cable that came with your cellphone as I did. Here’s link to the Micro USB cable at macmall.com. Hope this helps people.

Wow, nothing but problems with BB Link after update

Since the last update to BB Link which included Outlook one-way sync of calendar and contacts, have had nothing but issues.
Link won't perform the Outlook sync. Says the phone is disconnected. It isn't!
Unless I have USB mass storage on the USB connection to computer won't recognize the phone.
Backup for both Playbook and Z10 are not working. One Z10 backup chance was presented, but Link crashed half way thru and has not offered another backup since on either the PB or phone.
I changed the frequency to daily (from weekly) to see if this would trigger a backup attempt...nope.
Conclusion: Link Stinks!

Is your device recognized by your computer? If yes, copy the pictures and videos as shown in this article:
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
If it is not recognized, try this first: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Disable autosync in iTunes, right click on it in the device list and choose "transfer purchases" to copy apps and other media bought in iTunes to your new library.
Do the same again and choose "backup", to create a manual backup without syncing.
Since your device will be erased due to the new iTunes library during the first sync, you can use this backup afterwards to restore your settings and data.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer before you start, to be able to merge calendars and contacts.

OpenGL? After Effects Issue / Related to Power Surge?

I had a power surge that killed the power supply on my Quad 2.5GHZ G5. I got that fixed at the Apple Store, but since getting it back I was getting errors with OpenGL in After Effects. I had to disable it to get faster previews of what I was doing. I have very little understanding of what the OpenGL plug-in does or how it relates to my monitor, but could that power surge have affected this and caused this problem? Hopefully there is enough info here to offer me some guidance.

This may be a specific case of a combination of the graphics card, your RT.X100 and the Matrox CoDecs. I suppose you went with the Parhelia to ensure maximum compatibility to ensure maximum compatibility with the other Matrox stuff and now it's biting you in your behind. I really do think that it's an issue with either Pixel Bender probing the card and not "exiting gracefully" when it finds it incompatible or MediaCore trying to manage your Matrox CoDecs when it isn't supposed to... If you are feeling adventurous, you could try to re-install the system without the video hardware and CoDecs, just the Parhelia and see how AE CS4 behaves, but of course that's just as undesirable. You could also try creating different hardware profiles (via your device manager), but usually, once a system is "polluted" with offending components, this does not bring the desired betterment...

I just installed the latest update on my iPhone 4 and now it's nothing but a white screen and my computer wont even connect it to my itunes when I plug it in the USB port. What happened?

I installed the latest update to my phone. Half way through it asked to connect to itunes. After updateing it had some type of error and wanted me to restore the phone. After restoring, another error box popped up and said that it could not be restored. Now it won't connect to itunes or my computer at all and is nothing but the black start up screen with the apple logo, or it's just a white screen. What happened?

DFU mode? How do I do that? So far the only thing I can do is hold down both buttons to power it on and nothing is on the screen and it wont reconize on my computer....

Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
   1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
       other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
   2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
       until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
              * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
                Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
                release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
       device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
       let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some

       When this screen appears you can release the Home button:

Since installing Mavericks, I have experienced frequent "freezes" in which I can do nothing but power down.

I downloaded Mavericks about 3 months ago. Eversince I have been experiencing frequent system "freezes" not always accompanined by the spinning color ball. When this occurs I can do nothing but power down.
Also another issue: After shutting down and opening numbers I get the message that updates are available.. When I go the Apple store it tells me there are no updates available I am using Numbers 09 version 2.1. I thought when I downloaded Mavericks I got the latest version, but apparently not.

For what it is worth I have noticed a similar issue from the iPad3 while at work and home. At work we have two Apple TV 3rd Generation installed and tied to our A/V system. I believe the issue has to do with a timeout on the broadcast saying "here I am" and allowing devices to connect.
For example:
At work we have several Wi-Fi SSID being broadcast from Cisco APs. The only one we can use with the Apple TV is the one that uses a WEP since the others are either setup to be hidden, require web page authentication, or have a login requirement from employees. Essentially, what I believe the issue is that the Apple TV periodically broadcasts a message to other iOS devices that support Mirroring. When the Apple TV does not get a response from a device it goes into a dormant mode and requires either a command from the remote control or a reboot. This has been tested with both the power management enabled and not enabled with the same results.
As for when I come home, the Apple TV3 has not seen the device in some time and therefore is not broadcasting it's location information. A simple click of the circle or menu keys on the remote will give it the command to start broadcasting again and allow the iPad3 to see the Apple TV. When trying to Home Share the computer can not play (iTunes 11, Win8RTM) until the Apple TV is awoken then it will show up for mirroing.
This may or may not assist you but, it hopefully explains how the issue may be happening.

Hi I tried firefox as a browser but didn't keep it. Uninstalled it and put explorer 9 back on. Tonight a power surge knocked out my desktop pc totally. When I got it back on, there were start up problems. Start up repair restored to a different date, and it happened to be the date when I installed firefox. I activated explorer 9 again, then tried to uninstall firefox, but the uninstall won't work from the control panel. How do I uninstall firefox now?
