Powerpoint converter hangs with converting PP presentation with audio

Hi all,
I've been using Captivate v5 before. Now I've starting Captivate 6 and now I've got an issue:
When I import a Powerpoint presentation (2003) with a  voice over, made in powerpoint, the powerpoint converter hangs. No response on any click. The taskmanager gives a CPU load of a continues 15%.
This procedure did work in v5.
When I delete the voiceover in Powerpoint and import this presentation, it gives no problem. All the settings are default. Do I have to configure something??
regards,
Bert

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching Adobe Community. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.
Please try the below steps and then try to reimport the PowerPoint Presentation.
Windows XP:
Close Captivate.
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6
Rename the Captivate 6 folder to anything.
Try to reimport the project.
Windows Vista/7:
Close captivate.
Go to C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6
Rename the Captivate 6 folder.
Hope this helps!
Thanks!

    Love the Adobe products first. OK , I have my instructional coaches creating power point presentation add audio to each slide with the presenter 10 add ins. I need these presentation converted into MP4 like you can do with adobe presenter video creator.

    If you import the PPT deck into Captivate it will not bring the audio from Presenter. But you can import it into Captivate after the slide deck has been imported. The audio files aren't necessarily named in a logical fashion in the source files for the presentation, so I would recommend that you publish the presentation locally and then find the 'data' folder in the published output and the audio files will be named in a way that you can infer the slide they are associated with. Not the simplest proceedure but it should be pretty painless.

    Hi
    Please describe How You go from PPT to iDVD. Via iMovie ?
    If so - then convert Your .wma file to .aiff (same kHz) and use this in iMovie instead. (no .mp3 either)

    Download and convert Youtube video to MP3---Just with one click
    Last week, when wandering around the Youtube watch.com, I was enthralled with the theme song of "Lost", especially the words of the song "I found out, on the corner of first and amistad, where the west was all but won all weeklong, smoking his last cigarette, I said: "Where you been?" He said: "ask anything.""......"
    I couldn’t help expecting to save this song to my personal players. What a delightful thing listening to the song while walking or waiting for a bus! Okay, do you have the same experience as me? When hearing an exciting speech or dialogue, are you thirsty for downloading them and saving as your best memory?
    Download, convert Youtube to mp3?—yes, you can.
    Anna, one of my best friends, has posed a question "I have a Mac notebook and I only need the audio (mp3 music) of a certain Youtube movie, what shall I do?" The solution to the problem is shown as below:
    Step one: Install a Youtube Converter for Mac as follows:
    Step two: import the URL of Youtube video (or batches of URL) you wanna convert using "Add URL" icon. Select output format like audio (MP3) by "Settings" and customize your output file path with "Browse".
    Step three: If you want your output audio much better, you can set the audio resolution like Bit Rate, Channels or Sample Rate presented in the following picture.
    Step four: Click "Ok” button, it automatically download and convert your youtube videos simultaneously. After a few minutes, you can get the desirable audio (mp3) you want and enjoy it on any portable devices.
    Download, convert Youtube videos to iPod, iPhone, iPhone 3Gs, PSP, Creative Zen, Zune, iRiver, and etc. --- done by one click.
    Generally, if you want to download a Youtube video and then convert them to MP3 for your mobile devices, you need two Youtube tools: Youtube Downloader and Youtube Converter. But, now, with Pavtube Youtube Converter for Mac, you can both download and convert massive videos by clicking one "Ok" button.
    Now, all the best, you can enjoy versatile Youtube music at a waiting room, on a bus, traveling, walking around the park or lying on your bed..

    Youtube's ToU specifically state that downloads of any content is prohibited unless there is a download button available for a particular video.

  • How to setup word docs, converted to PDF on local drive with links to a second file at a page

    how to setup word docs, converted to PDF on local drive with links to a second file at a page
    Need to setup a set of word documents, converted to PDF that has links from one file to a second file at a given page.
    I would like to setup a set of pdf documents, on the hard disk of a PC or Mac, that can be open with acrobat pro running on the same computer and have the link jump to, and open in a new window, in acrobat pro, to a given page of a second document in the set.
    Is there a way to setup a link in word and the conversion to pdf that will result in a link that is equivalent to the acrobat link type  you get when you add a link of the type Go to a page in another document?
    Tools-Advanced Editing-Link tool, make a box
    Check: Go to page view, Next (Create go to view dialog opens)
    Open second document and go to page
    Click “Create go to view dialog” to set up link
    Result is a link, when view by link properties, with an action of
    Go to a page in another document
    File: C:\My Documents\second file.pdf
    Page: 43
    Zoom level: Custom
    I got close but did not solve the problem:
    I have a version that uses links to a website, using #page=43 at the end of the hyperlink.
    That works but will only open to the page if is through the web browser, opening the acrobat reader plugin.
    I need to open from a folder on the local harddisk (with relative links), in acrobat pro to the given page of the pdf, on a PC or a Mac.
    I could bookmark each page “pagenumberxxx” and jump to the bookmark/page if that would get around some problem
    Current Systems in use to create documents with links and view them:
    Windows XP SP3
    Word 2003 SP3
    Acrobat 9 pro version 9.4.4
    Or just to view them:
    Mac OS 10 Lion version 10.7.4
    Acrobat 9 pro version 9.5.1
    (note I have limited understanding of Mac’s)
    John

    No.  There seems to be no automated way to do it.  You can of course go into the PDF and manually add links after you have converted to PDF, but that is what we want to avoid having to do.  We want it to be automatic from the Word doc.

    Is there a way to convert .wmv's to .gif's with Photoshop Elements 10?  If not, will an up upgrade to version 12 include something that will do this?

    I have done it manually, and it takes a long time just for 1 patch.
    Just the sample editing and naming takes hours!
    Autosampler automates this process.
    You can define how many velocity levels you need.
    If a midi CC changes the sound in an interesting way, you can have Autosampler send the controller in increments and sample that.
    At the end of it, you end up with a finished EXS instrument.

  • Convert 1 single microsoft word document with section breaks to multiple pdf files

    I am a windows 7 users. I have a single microsoft word document which contain 1500 pages. These 1500 pages are seperated by sections breaks in the microsoft word. I am trying to convert this word document to multiple pdf files seperated by the section breaks in the Microsoft word. How can I convert the single microsoft word document with section breaks to multiple seperate pdf files?

    Acrobat (Adobe PDF Printer and PDFMaker ) doesn't recognize the Section breaks.  It never has as far as I am aware.  The easiest thing to do is to manually break up a copy of the MS Word Document into the Sections you need and then create the PDFs from those MS Word documents.

  • Converting PDF to a Web Page with Mouseover Functionality

    I've been asked to create an online catalog with page turning functionality, but the pages must have the capability that when hovering over a product, it is then enlarged into a pop-up box that has a link to a shopping cart. Page turning software appears to only work with PDF files, so I need to create a PDF from scratch, not from a scan...then have mouseover functionality over each product as I described. Then I would have the PDF converted to page flipping functionality. I would appreciate any suggestions as I feel this is over my head. A good example of this is the Staples weekly ad:
    http://weeklyad.staples.com/staples/default.aspx?action=entryflash&adref=%20staples_right_ hand_nav%20&icid=HP:HP:WEKLY_AD:WEKLY_:NULL::
    Thanks in advance

    At this time all page-flipping system run in Flash (until we get some of the new features of HTML5 and CSS shown at MAX, it's the only way to do it). As such they are primarily-designed to work on a website, but in some cases they can be embedded into a PDF as well.
    Adobe InDesign can export documents into SWFs with a page-flip effect, and could implement some of the interactivity you're looking for - but if you want to convert an existing PDF into something with popups and flip effects you'll need to use one of the many online service providers (such as Yudu), Adobe doesn't offer it.

  • PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in.

    I've installed Adobe Presenter V7.0.7 Build 7746. When I open an existing PowerPoint file and try and use Presenter, I get the following error: PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in. If you have seen this message multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you want to disable this add-in?
    No, I don't want to disable it. When I click No, PowerPoint stops working. I get a message that says: Microsoft PowerPoint has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Widows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. My only choice is to click the Close program button.
    When I open the PPT file again, I get the same "experienced a serious problem" message. If anyone has a solution to this, I'd appreciate knowing what it is. It took me a while just to get the Presenter option to appear in the PowerPoint toolbar. Now that I have it, it's not working.
    Thank you!

    Thank you for your quick reply. Here are the answers to your questions.
    1. The file I'm having issues with was not created using any version of Presenter. It is simply a PowerPoint file.
    2. The file is a PPT not PPTX.
    3. I am running Windows7 and Office 2010.
    I think I might have found the solution to the problem. I opened the PPT file and saved it as a PPTX file. Then I clicked the Presenter option in the PowerPoint toolbar and was able to select different Presenter options with no issues. I opened other PPTX files and I did not get the error window stating 'PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in'.
    This seems to work. So, it appears that any PPT file needs to be saved as a PPTX file before using Presenter. If you have another solution that I might be able to keep in my back pocket (in case this happens again and what I did does not work), then please answer. Otherwise, I'm good now.
    Thanks!

  • How do i convert a voice memo into MP3 with itunes 12?

    I need to convert a voice memo into MP3 with itunes 12.

    Today, I emailed myself an .m4a voice recording from an Android smartphone that had created that sound file minutes earlier.
    After opening that email message, I saved the .m4a sound file (a whopping 352 KB) to my Mac (iMac 21.5 inch running Yosemite).
    Clicking on the sound file's icon launched iTunes (version 12.0.1.26), which then did nothing no matter what I tried.
    However, when I selected the file on the desktop and navigated to the Finder/File/Open With dropdown window, a dialog box opened with alternative applications to use for opening the sound file. The available applications shown were VLC, QuickTime Player, Flip Player, and RealPlayer. I was pleased to find that VLC, QuickTime, Flip Player, and RealPlayer each opened and played the file straightforwardly and flawlessly.
    Apparently, Flip Player Pro (which I do not own) has a "save as" feature that might help you convert the file to the format you desire.

  • Encoding problem with convert and CLOB involving UTF8 and EBCDIC

    Hi,
    I have a task that requires me to call a procedure with a CLOB argument containing a string encoded in EBCDIC. This did not go well so I started narrowing down the problem. Here is some SQL to illustrate it:
    SQL> select * from v$version;
    BANNER
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    CORE 10.2.0.4.0 Production
    TNS for Solaris: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    SQL> select value from v$nls_parameters where parameter = 'NLS_CHARACTERSET';
    VALUE
    AL32UTF8
    SQL> select convert(convert('abc', 'WE8EBCDIC500'), 'AL32UTF8', 'WE8EBCDIC500')
    output from dual;
    OUT
    abc
    SQL> select convert(to_char(to_clob(convert('abc', 'WE8EBCDIC500'))), 'AL32UTF8', 'WE8EBCDIC500') output from dual;
    OUTPUT
    ╒╫¿╒╫¿╒╫¿
    So converting to and from EBCDIC works fine when using varchar2, but (if I am reading this right) fails when involving CLOB conversion.
    My question then is: Can anyone demonstrate how to put correct EBCDIC into a CLOB and maybe even explain why the examples do what they do.

    in order to successfully work with xmldb it is recommended that you use 9.2.0.4
    and above. Its seems to have lower version.
    Okay now related to the problem , if your data that you want to send to the attributes are not greater than 32767, then you can use the pl/sql varchar2 datatype to hold the data rather then CLOB and overcome this problem.
    here is the sample. use function with below pl/sql to return the desired output.
    SQL> declare
      2   l_clob     CLOB := 'Hello';
      3   l_output   CLOB;
      4  begin
      5    select  xmlelement("test", xmlattributes(l_clob AS "a")).getclobval()
      6      into l_output from dual;
      7  end;
      8  /
      select  xmlelement("test", xmlattributes(l_clob AS "a")).getclobval()

      7    dbms_output.put_line(l_output);
      8  end;
