Pre adjustments

I was using Raw Shooter pro essentials prior to lightroom coming out and I know that lightroom is based on the technology from raw shooter. One issue that bothers me to no end is the adjustments that are made when the image is loading. When I browse through images for the first time in both raw shooter and Lightroom beta, when i stop on an image it waits a second and then does some odd contrast/levels adjustment that makes the image look horrible. The image goes from looking very crisp, clean, sharp and well balanced tones to be stretched out and the contrast messed up. Is there a way to turn off whatever default adjustments are applied to the image. The very first LR beta didnt do this but the version 4 did.
Thanks
Paul Gardner

The first image you see in the thumbnails is the in camera generated thumbnail.
And as Sean said, lr renders new thumbnails with the default preset (or a preset by choice) after you have imported your images.
It's this you notice when the images "change".
What you can do is to make your own preset that "matches" the in camera thumbnail/settings and use this preset on import.
And as you probably now, lr does not read any camera settings, that why it can differ quite a lot between the lr rendered image and the thumbnails from the camera.

  • How do I pre-render only portions of the timeline or selected clips?

    I'm switching from Vegas Pro to Premiere Pro. In Vegas, you select a portion of the timeline, then hit control-B and it pre-renders that segment.
    In Premiere, you hit enter, but it doesn't pay attention to the selected clips, it just pre-renders the entire sequence.
    This wouldn't be such a big problem except I'm managing projects that are fairly long, with 20-30 sequences and 20 or so nested sequences in each project and I'm switching between around 18 different projects for a series of 23 or so videos.
    These vids are already taxing my system resources with only a few minutes or so (referencing about 80-120gb of source footage), but my office comp is kinda weak.
    The problem is that when I pre-render a nested sequence and bring it back to the main timeline, I have to pre-render it *again* after making the next set of adjustments (ie color correction, transitions etc). Then I have to do it AGAIN when I copy it to another timeline for another similar project.
    Every time, it can take as long as 15 or 20 minutes (my video card is an nVidia GTX 560 Ti, it has CUDA, but prem doesn't support it for some reason).
    When my main timeline glitched out, forcing me to split into different projects, it took me almost 4 hours just to copy things into place with the additional 20 minutes to load the glitched file.
    Then I had to go and pre-render everything again to work my edits back into place.
    Even when everything is 90% correctly laid out, I still have to wait for the entire sequence to finish pre-rendering.
    As above, in Vegas Pro, I just select a portion of the timeline and the pre-render sticks to that area.
    I saw an article that said you could create in and out points and use that for rendering, but it doesn't seem to be a CS6 thing.
    I heard that Adobe was trying to keep CS6 up to date as a parallel thing to CC. Surely I don't have to switch to a $600/year subscription just so I can pre-render portions of the timeline like a lower-end competitor program has had for something like 5 years...?
    What am I missing? There has to be a way to do this simply.

    Are you sure?
    I have only 3 options on my Sequence menu.
    The first is: Render Effects in Work Area (default shortcut - Enter)
    Then: Render Entire Work Area
    and: Render Audio
    No other Render options are available from that menu.
    Oddly, those two things are virtually identical. One of them shows 52 clips, the other showed 57 clips. With 26389 frames (approximately...) ETA is around 20-25 mins. That's not very workflow friendly.
    It is smart enough that if I pre-render once, making minor changes later makes for much less pre-rendering work, but because I'm working with so many similar projects and sequences, all of them end up needing to be completely re-pre-rendered even if I'm doing a copy-paste and I need to tweak a few little things in one area of the timeline.
    This was especially evident recently when in a 3 hour period, I had to go through 4 revisions and needed to keep my original iterations because the person who made the broad, sweeping decisions was making really bad decisions and I knew I would end up going back to my original plan and making a few comparatively simple changes (which is exactly what happened right after the 3 hours).
    Out of 3 hours, I could have lost a good hour and a half just waiting around for pre-rendering stuff that hard already been pre-rendered, but because it had been copy-pasted, Prem couldn't see those previous pre-renders.
    I actually only lost around 40 mins. But I had to reshoot footage, including setting up lights and camera angles, plus import and do color correction again thanks to no round-tripping to speedgrade and having shot in other areas with those cameras...
    If I had been doing it in Vegas, I would have spent only around 10 minutes doing those pre-renders. Oh and Vegas can use my GPU... I'm an Adobe guy mainly, so it's frustrating to see Vegas win on silly niggles like this.

  • After upgrading to Mavericks, F14/F15 brightness adjustments don't work

    After upgrading to Mavericks, F14/F15 brightness adjustments don't work.  The screen appears to be "locked" at the dimmest brightness level.  How do I adjust the brightness?

    I am home now and I just confirmed that I have a brightness control slide in my Sys Pre---> Display. However, this for my Apple Cinema display. When I was using another name brand, this wasn't available to me. Nor could I use F1 and F2.
    I also went to Sys Pre---> Keyboard---> Shortcuts---> Display---> Changed those values to F5 and F6, since they were free for me. And they were able to change the brightness for me. Went to test them, and I was just given that error chim and nothing on the display changed.
    So I went on down the list... Accessibility---> checked Contrast and changed those to F5 and F6. Ahhh, now I can change that. Now I know that I can use the F5 and F6 for something.
    I know that you are talking about brightness, but double check the Contrast settings to see if you were mistaking the two. After years of setting my TV with Video Essentials, I still get the two mixed up from time to time.

  • Is there a substitute tool path for "Image Adjustments Variations-" in Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition?

    Is there a substitute tool path for "Image>Adjustments>Variations…" in Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition that brings similar results?  I was used to using Image>Adjustments>Variations… in Photoshop CS4 Standard Standard Addition quite often. I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition to get the 64bit memory architecture compatibility on my Macbook Pro, booted in Mountain Lion.  I see now that Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition has the "Image>Adjustments>Variations…" tool path removed.
    I don't have Photoshop CS6 Extended, which has the all new Image>Adjustments>Variations… tool path.  I only have Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition so, if anyone can share with me a substitute tool set that can give me similar results to using the old "Image>Adjustments>Variations…,"  I would appreciate it.

    Thanks, R_Kelly.
    You helped me to start exploring other tools in the Image>Adjustments Menu.  "Image>Adjustments>Color Balance…" seemed to help me get the results that "Image>Adjustments>Variations…" used to deliver.  "Image>Adjustments>Photo Filter>Warming Filter (85)" also got me to where I wanted to be in desired adjustments.  I used to get the results I wanted in brightness, contrast, mid-tone adjustment, and color balance buy using just Curves, Variations, and Hue/Saturation.  Now I'll use "Color Balance…" and "Photo Filter>Warming Filter (85)" along with Curves, and Hue/Saturation.  I also have learned to use "Levels" some more to get the same effect as Adjustments>Variations…"  I always thought there were more technically precise adjustment tools to get the same effect as "Image>Adjustments>Variations…"  Adobe dropping Variations in Photoshop CS6 Mac version forced me to learn better image adjustment approaches for pre press color correction and image warming.  I feel confident now to make Photoshop CS6 my prime-time work tool and move the Photoshop CS4 launch icon off of my Mac OS app Dock.  Thanks again, R_Kelly.

  • Oracle Upgrade --  Pre-Upgrade 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.1

    Hello,
    I want to do an Oracle Upgrade to version 11.2g!
    At this point I did some things (in Windows Server 2003 X64):
    1-) Install Oracle 10.2.0.1 (DVD Media);
    2-) Installation of Oracle patchset 10.2.0.4 (note 871735);
    3-) Installation of interim / last generics patch (note 1137346);
    4-) Installation of SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 by SAPInst
    5-) After SAP installation I did all the corrections in Oracle parameters as it mentioned in note 830576.
    As you see above, all the SAP system was well installed!
    But now I want to do the Oracle Upgrade process to the last version, Oracle DB 11.2g  (11.2.0.1)... and so I´m following the Upgrade guide "Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2) Windows.pdf" with some SAP notes for Upgrade process.
    So I´m at this point in planning chapter where is recommended to check so things in actual database, one of this checks are running some SQL-scripts to perform an Oracle database upgrade with DBUA to release 11.2 (as mentioned in note 1431793 - Oracle 11.2.0: Upgrade Scripts)
    I ran two Pre-Scripts, the @pre_upgrade_status.sql and @pre_upgrade_tasks.sql but both outputs showed some warnings and they are worrying me... so what I ask to you is some kind of help in analyse of them and tell me if this issues are relevant for the upgrading process and if so, what you recommend me to do to correct their!
    Next I will post here this two log scripts... they are long!!!

  • Pre-Configure QT 7 Installation for only specific file types

    Is there an 'ini' or similar configuration file or command line option set I can use to pre-configure QT7 to only associate with specific file types?
    I want to leave the associations for Media Player intact and have QT handle only MOV and other Apple-specific file types.

    Basic answer. No.
    You set file associations after the install of QuickTime.
    Most of it's adjustments and options are found in its Control Panel. Here you can set associations for MIME types that control the browser plug-in.
    Each user can set their own values.

  • Edit with Dodge & Burn - why are my adjustments gone

    Just wondering if anyone could tell me why the adjustments go away on the new pick/preview that is created when editing with dodge and burn. I know, I know...i've read to use this is final retouching, i.e., you've made all adjustments necessary. But what happens if I decide I want to tweak it last minute.
    Hopefully I haven't confused anyone. Basically what I'm saying is, if i've used adjustments (levels, exposure, enhance, etc), one I choose edit with --> dodge and burn, the new preview/pick that is created does not have any of these adjustments still selectable. That seems completely strange to me. Again, what if I do some dodging and burning and then decide I'd like to open up the exposure just a hair more. Unless I'm missing something, I can't do that b/c all the checked boxes are now gone. The adjustments are still there, the photo is still altered, but they're no longer selectable. Seems very strange to me to not be able to change your mind once you go to dodge and burn. Any help or thoughts on this?

    Ian
    Well, if I hadn't just gone and looked at the "editing with plug-ins; dodge and burn" I would have never known that it was a plug in...since the video states it's "pre-installed." When you use an application and it's there from day one, how is the user to know it's a "pre-installed plug-in?" Wouldn't most, myself included, assume that's just an application feature, since it's already there, and not a plug-in? Strange things are afoot at the Circle K.
    But thanks. Now I know that they pre-installed a plug-in. Didn't know that before.

  • Speedgrade not showing clip adjustments till the frame is advanced

    I'm working on grading a project and I just updated to CC2014.  I've been using speedgrade for a couple of years now, but this is the first project that I've been able to utilized the direct link to Premiere (which at first appears to be a god send).  Previously I was working with the DPX files rout, in and out of speedgrade.
    The issue I'm running into is the after about 30 minutes of grading I'm not able to see adjustments as I'm making them to the footage.  For example if I drop the saturation by a few points I won't see any change my monitor or scopes, but if I bump one frame over I can see the adjustment.  However if I go back to the previous frame the pre-adjustment look is still there.  This will keep happing during a grading session so that after a couple of adjustments to a clip I'll see colors and brightness dance around  as I play through a clips, all of the pre- adjustment frames mixing with the finished look.  Now if I close the program and reopen it the clips are fine and all one grade.  The copy grade for previous clip function seems to be working fine. I'm not sure what is causing the problem here as I've got a few new variables going on so any advice would be appreciated.
    My system is:
    mid- 2010 MBP with 8GB ram
    Adobe Speedgrade CC2014  2014.0 Release
    Grading BMCC ProRes

    I'm replying to your question on my phone so I can't look at your project but I did look at your video.
    Here is what I would do to troubleshoot the project. First run a RAM preview of the pre-composed and masked wedge comp. If that plays back correctly then everything else should work unless you have applied some kind of time effect to the duplicated layers. If that doesn't work then show us a screenshot of that pre-comp with all of the properties of the movie layer revealed (Press that u key twice).
    If you have not sorted this out by the time I get back the office I will try and take a look at your project.

  • Making adjustments on multiple images which already have adjustments

    i have about a thousand images that have been adjusted for exposure, etc, and i just realized i need to go in after the fact and adjust the white balance for all the images now. if i lift and stamp, it will lifty all adjustments from 1 image as opposed to just the white balance, so i am wondering if it's possible to adjust just the white balance for all these pre-edited images.
    any suggestions?
    thanks!

    Also (and I don't know if you have worried about this yet) the default behavior of Stamp is to only add the things you have checked in stamp - if the image to be stamped has existing Adjustments, they will not be modified when Stamping (though if you already had a white balance set it will be overwritten).
    If you want to stamp many images at once select them all and then use the "Stamp Selected Images" button in the Stamp dialogue.

  • 4K success in PrE 13

    PrE is one of the cheap video editors aimed at amateurs.  The 4K video format is new and there are only a few cameras or camcorders amateurs would buy that can create 4K clips.  Among them are the Hero 4, Panasonic FZ1000, Sony AX100, a Samsung smartphone, a Samsung tablet and the Panasonic LX100.  Disregarding the phones, tablets and GoPro, the LX100 is the lowest price entry point.  Out since October, it is getting rave reviews for being compact, having a fast Leica Lens and a M4/3 sensor.  Rumors are that there will be a lot more at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
    Adobe's competitors in the cheap NLE market are Sony, Cyberlink and Corel who brag about 4K capability in their marketing and specifications.  Nowhere, that I could find, in Adobe's marketing for PrE 13 was there any mention of 4K.
    Why shoot in 4K when so few have 4K viewing capability?  The bit rate is a lot higher.  The theory is, that since the 4K files are three or four times larger than the HD 1080p60 files we are used, we should have more "Photoshop like" creative editing opportunities.  Results from color, exposure correction, cropping and shake control should be better.  The 1080p output we create for our HD TVs, can be better if our original clips have more data.
    My dear wife surprised me with a Panasonic LX100 for Christmas so I could scratch the 4K itch.  Would PrE 13 stand up to the job?  Or, would I have to learn how to use Sony's Home Studio?  When I started with PrE, it was version 9 and I had one of the first AVCHD camcorders.  It was not until PrE11 that Adobe fully caught up with AVCHD.  Would 4K be a better experience?
    Yesterday I took my new camera to the Oregon beach and shot a bunch of clips.  Last night I put them on my computer using Lightroom.  I don't use Organizer.  I used Lightroom to get rid of the duds.  From Lightroom, I exported clip copies to a PrE13 project folder.  I was delighted they all showed up when I Added Media.  I dropped them all to the timeline and trimmed them by grabbing the edges.  I intentionally did not make adjustments, transitions, titles or do any color grading so I could test the "workflow".
    I'm delighted!  It worked without flaw.  An appropriate 4K project preset was automatically selected, the preview window was smooth without jitter.  There are 4K output presets under XAVC-S, below AVCHD in Publish & Share > Computer.  The larger files were slower to render, but not so slow to be a show stopper.
    The two and a half minute result is here:  https://vimeo.com/115617380
    Obviously, the performance of any NLE is computer related.  I have an i7 laptop with lots of memory and a fast HDD.  If you want to "test" 4K clips in your system, I can put up some that are straight out of my camera.
    Bill

    Hi Bill. Always interested and happy to hear 13 works with 4K! I am one generation behind with the Pany G6 but veryhappy with it's results. My next project is to rebuild the computer to faster and deeper specs ( almost there )  ) also interested in going to lightroom as the organizer. Any advice there? I am still at ver 11 with elements but don't see a need to upgrade yet unless of course I upgrade to the G4. I'll start saving now.

    I've just submitted a feature request at : http://www.apple.com/feedback/motion.html
    I wanted to find out if anyone has a workflow that works well for this. I have one but it can be tedious when working with complex animations.
    In AE we have the concept of a pre-comp, or a pre-render. Basically you can take a bunch of layers and group them, and pre-render them. You can do the same thing in motion a couple different ways. Motion doesn't have pre-comps, but rather just groups. But you can't render the group within the .motn file. You have to take this group to another motn file, export it, then re-import the ProRes4444 .mov into the larger project. THEN, if you need to make any adjustments, you have to open the smaller motn file, make adjustments independent of the main project, re-export... reNAME export (since the larger project is -using- the media), then relink the media in the overall project.
    I'm not an advanced user of AE, but I do understand the workflow and I think motion would benefit from a way to break down the layers into pre-renders, but in a much more straightforward way.
    I do know that you can export a selection, and then choose to re-import to media after export, but then you end up with extra layers that you have to hide, and you still have to reimport that .mov and replace the layer you exported. Not very clean.
    Additionally, when creating a sub-project, it makes sense to make it the best quality, so if you have something small as part of your project, and you export selection, it will be that same small size in a larger file format. For example, you have a tiny circle spinning in your HD project and you want to "pre-render" it. You export that layer and you have a .mov that's HD size, but your circle is a tiny portion of that .mov. So if you wanted to zoom in on it it would be super pixelated. So the right thing to do is export selection and have the layer autofill into the HD boundaries.
    Do the advanced users work their complex projects like this too?...

    David/Andy:
    Really good points guys. I certainly am not saying Motion should be like AE. I am not starting a thread that is a comparison of the two. Each has it's own workflow, and Andy I think you bring up a really good point. I rarely use clones but they are a powerful tool in the right circumstance. I am curious about more complex design workflows and how some of us push the limits.
    David, I agree with your point about keeping Motion simple. Apple is proficient at keeping their software/hardware simple. Software that serves one purpose, or devices that have only a few buttons. The elegance is what we all like.
    Additionally, to your point Andy, we can do things withOUT precoming in Motion. Just keeping things in layers is good enough really. Like I said, I'm not really an AE user, but I do understand the concepts. I like the idea of a pre-rendered portion of the animation. Just seems to take the processor intensive portions out of creating complex animations. Moreover I think I am just wondering if I could create more complex animations WITH some of the design workflows that AE offers (like pre-rendering).
    At the end of the day I feel like I can do SO much with Motion, and have wiggle room to play around more. I'm definitely excited about a new version of Motion, and to see what sort of new features make it in. Perhaps nodal workflows, perhaps more 3D design tools... we'll see.

  • Installation & Configurations Pre-requisites

    Hi all,
    from several posts regarding installations, I see that there are problems regarding pre-requistes.
    Apart from the certification matrix, which provides information on OS, database repository there are certain other mandatory requirements for installations such as
    1) Admin access for user at OS level
    2) Database set with UTF8 encoding and high paging, auto size increase
    3) User Control settings set to Never Share
    Can some one list out all necessary pre-requisties for installtions & configurations please? may be need of JDK or dot net frame work or anything else.
    Thanks in advance

    I assume that you are talking about 11.1.2.1 installation .. ...
    (1) GREENFIELD/CLEAN INSTALL
    It is safest to do a clean install. An install on top of a pre-existing Hyperion System 9.2.1, 9.3.3, or 11.1.1.3 installation would lead to the loss of prior data and configuration files and lead to a new environment. That is supported, but ensure all files and repository data are preserved if the EPM 11.1.2.x install is unsuccessful and one needed to revert to the prior install.
    (2) MICROSOFT WINDOWS VERSION
    Earlier versions of Hyperion System 9 and Oracle Hyperion EPM 11.1.1.x were not certified against currently supported operating systems and databases so it is unlikely that they were installed in environments certified to work with EPM 11.1.2.1.
    Since many of the applications of EPM 11.1.2.1 are 64-bit savvy and could benefit from the optimization features of Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 64-bit...that would be recommended.
    (3) COMPRESSION/DECOMPRESSION
    As mentioned above, ensure that your compression/decompression utility will handle long file path names (greater than the 260 character Microsoft Windows path limitation).
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365247%28VS.85%29.aspx#maxpath
    (4) TURN OFF MICROSOFT'S USER ACCOUNT CONTROL
    UAC (Microsoft User Account Control) is a feature of Microsoft Vista and Windows 2008.
    When the hyperlink is clicked, the next window should NOT have a check box checked.
    The screen layout for Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 is:
    (5) ENSURE MEMORY AND CPU NUMBERS ARE ADEQUATE
    If all Hyperion products that can be accessed via Oracle EPM Foundation 11.1.2.x were installed and activated it could easily require around 14 gigabytes or more of RAM. This pretty much eliminates consideration of a 32-bit install (where each machine can access at best 4 gigabytes of memory...and no less than 1 gigabyte of that would be for the operating system). The processing load for many separate Java virtual machines would also make it practical to have four or more CPUs. The memory and CPU requirements might be reduced somewhat if fewer applications or JVMs were run, but it would not be advisable to run even a test and development install with fewer than two CPUs and 8 gigabytes of RAM as there are around two dozen processes to support. Technical support is not equipped to estimate the actual production capacity of an environment...there are too many variables involved. It would be best to ramp up the system with actual processes and loads and project from that.
    (6) PREPARING DATABASE CLIENTS
    The following applications require the installation of a full Oracle database client on the machines where they will be installed.
    Performance Management Architect Dimension server
    Financial Management application server
    FDM Application Server and any machine that has FDM Workbench
    Strategic Finance
    If an Oracle database is used, a full database client with Oracle Call Interface (Oracle 11.1.0.6 or later) must be installed. Ensure a Net Service Name/tnsnames.ora is configured for remote databases.
    (7) PREPARING DATABASE REPOSITORIES
    A number of different relational database repositories must be prepared if their matching applications will be configured, preferably with different schema owners. Ideally the database will be on a separate stand alone server behind a firewall.
    * CalcManager
    * DisclosureManagement
    * EnterprisePerformanceManagementArchitect
    * ERPIntegrator
    * Essbase
    * FDM
    * FinancialClose
    * FinancialManagement
    * PerformanceScorecard
    * PlanningApplication
    * PlanningSystem
    * ProfitabilityAndCostManagement
    * ReportingAndAnalysis
    * SharedServices
    ORACLE DATABASE REPOSITORY:
    Server versions supported include: Oracle 10.2.0.4+, 11.1.0.7+, or 11.2.0.1+
    HFM, HSS, and/or EPMA instances require at least 1GB of RAM and Automatic Memory Management.
    The database encoding should preferably be AL32UTF8 (UTF8 is fallback option) and NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS should be in order ',.' (confirm by running: SELECT * FROM NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS;)
    Each EPM user must have the RESOURCE role and the CREATE SESSION and
    CREATE VIEW privileges.
    Note that Oracle recommends a separate Oracle database instance and other specific adjustments to work with FDM.
    Oracle Data Provider (ODP) for .NET 2.0 (from the Oracle Data Access Component (ODAC) package) is required and must be installed by a user with Windows administrator rights for the following products: FDM or Performance Management Architect Dimension Server.
    MICROSOFT SQL SERVER DATABASE REPOSITORY
    Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 is certified.
    Run the following two commands against each database used by EPM:
    alter database <database name> set READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON
    alter database <database name> set ALLOW_SNAPSHOT_ISOLATION ON
    IBM DB2 DATABASE REPOSITORY
    IBM DB2 9.7 FP3a+ is certified.
    (8) MICROSOFT INTERNET INFORMATION SERVER
    For Microsoft Windows 2008 servers, ensure that IIS 7 is installed with IIS 6 compatibility features (needed for HFM). Ensure that ASP.NET has been installed as well. In Windows 2008: Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Server Manager (or use icon in tool-bar) > Roles Summary > click Add Roles > ...complete verifications... > On Select Server Roles screen select Web Server (IIS) > et cetera.
    (9) PREPARE A DOMAIN USER FOR INSTALL
    The Microsoft Windows Services control panel should have a domain user with rights to start a service as the owner of each Oracle EPM service, so that user should be determined before installation.
    (10) CONFIGURE INTERNET EXPLORER 8 (if not using Firefox)
    Internet Options > Security Settings tab > Custom level...
    Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints (Enable)
    Allow websites to open windows without address or status bar (Enable)
    Internet Options > Security tab > Enable Protected Mode (Uncheck)
    If multiple open windows are needed: Re: IE8 - Worspace & Concurrent Sessions
    (11) INSTALL A 32-BIT GNU (7.06) or AFPL (8.5.4 or 8.51or 8.14 ) GHOSTSCRIPT OR ADOBE ACROBAT DISTILLER (6.0 or 8.0)
    This is needed for Oracle Hyperion Financial Report PDF output.
    Enhanced display of charts (via Adobe SVG Viewer) is only possible when using Adobe Acrobat Distiller.
    (12) ENSURE THERE ARE NO SPACES IN THE INSTALL PATH

  • Pre requisite for Modification

    Hi All,
    Is there any specific pre requisites for Modification adjustments after prepare mode from abap prespective ?
    We need to check these before we do an upgrade on the system from ABAP prespective.
    Cheers,
    Reddy

    Hi All,
    Upgrade document shows these are the planning steps  need to take care .
    Changes to the Translation of an Object Text
    The changes are made in the translation environment (transaction SE63) or in the ABAP Workbench. An
    SSCR key is not required.
    Caution
    Changes to translations of SAP objects are not retained when you perform an upgrade. They are
    overwritten by a new version or deleted. For more information about retaining these changes, see SAP Note 485741.
    Modifications to the Object
    You may need an SSCR key to perform the modification adjustment. Get the key before you upgrade the
    system. For more information, see SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/sscr.
    All modified standard SAP objects are displayed for adjustment in transaction SPDD or SPAU. Objects that
    SAP no longer delivers are deleted. If you want to keep these objects, you have to accept the modifications
    in transaction SPDD or SPAU.
    Caution
    Make sure that before the upgrade there is at least one package in the customer namespace (Z*). You
    need this package if you have to create objects during the modification adjustment, for example, for an
    append structure for customer fields of an SAP table.
    You cannot create packages during the upgrade.
    I have checked the prerequisites mentioned here .
    When i run se95 i get 2 modification adjustments in red color under translations.
    It shows there are transacation LSMW
    Authorization Objects B_LSMW.
    When i double click these two it traverse me to SE63 transaction. Please let me know what i need to check in these two entries in regard to translations.
    Please let me what need to take care for these two before i confirm to BASIS team to go head with Upgrade.
    Cheers,
    Reddy

  • Approval Management for Receivable Invoice Adjustments

    How can we create a new transaction type in AME and link it with AR Adjustments ?
    AR Adjustments already have inbuit approval flow..do we need to tweak the AR Adjustments workflow

    I have installed the patch 5679736 and still got the same error. :(
    I seems that the AME engine and the AP WORKFLOW are not link with each other...coz everytime we setup a transaction in AP workflow there is no matching applicable role at the AME, but is it existing on AME.
    One more thing I noticed...
    On our linux 11i test server where the WORKFLOW CONFIGURATION works fine, we selected the following tables
    because the drop down list for NOTIFICATION STYLE (e.g. thru email) has value:
    select count(*) from wf_gbx_roles; 16
    select count(*) from wf_gbx_ur; 70
    But on the AIX 11i PROD server where we got problem the tables has no rows; hence the the WORKFLOW CONFIGURATION window has no selected list of values for NOTIFICATION STYLE.
    How can this tables be populated? :(
    Why is that 11i on Linux is better than 11i in AIX
    On the AIX side,
    ======================
    select patch_level
    from fnd_product_installations
    where patch_level like '%AP%';
    no rows selected;
    =======================
    select distinct patch_level from fnd_product_installations;
    11i.AD.I.4
    11i.FV.F
    11i.GM.I
    11i.OKE.H
    11i.PSA.F
    ========================
    So I think I need to apply patch 3653484 ?
    The following patches are required prior to applying Oracle Financials Family Pack G and are available through OracleMetaLink. (Required)
    1. AD patch 4038964 (11i.AD.I.1 Mini-pack)
    2. FND patch 3262159 (11i.FND.H Mini-pack)
    3. XDO patch 3263588 (11i.XDO.H)
    4. BNE patch 3218526 (11i.BNE.D)
    5. FUN patch 3706130 FUN splice patch (required for 11i.OIE.J which is included in 11i.FIN_PF.G)
    6. XML patch 3822219 XDO/ORACLE XML PUBLISHER OA ROLLUP PATCH 5.0.0
    7. XML patch 3435480 Publishing Concurrent Requests with XML Publisher
    8. EGO patch 3931732 EGO ADSPLICE ARU CHECKIN
    Goodness so plenty of pre-requisites, do I have to install all of these?
    Thanks a lot
