  • Is there a way to add/delete words from the predictive text ?

Is there a way to add/delete words from the predictive text options that my iPhone is giving me? I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.
There are specific words that are popping up in the area right above the keyboard where it displays 3 word suggestions to choose from. This area seems to suggest words that I have typed before, I'd like to remove these words. Default seems to select the word in the center and when I'm typing fast on occasion it will recommend and select words that I don't need to use.
    Any help would be appreciated.

is there a way to add delete into 9i MERGE? or somehow encapsulate it?
Thank youI would suggest upgrading to a supported version of the database. 9i has been unsupported for many many years now.
And to answer your question... to the best of my knowledge, there is no workaround. It works as it works.

  • Predictive Text in Numbers 3.0 with Mavericks 10.9???

Ugh.  I'm not loving this revamped app at all.  Seems as though it's been "dumbed" down.
I can't figure out how to enable the predictive text inside the spreadsheet now.
Also, when saving, it defaults to 125% and also to the top of my spreadsheets.  A lot of my spreadsheets are very long, which requires having to pull down to the bottom every time I open them, in addition to changing to 100%.
Anybody else having issues like this?

And, meanwhile, you can use Pop-up Menu in many situations where you've been using autocompletion in columns:
Select the column, and format the cells in the column as Pop-Up Menu:
If you've selected the whole column before formatting as Pop-up, your existing values in that column will pre-populate a menu automatically:
Then you remove the values you don't want in the list, such as the column header (and possibly some previous spelling errors too!):
And after this easy one-time setup all you have to do thereafter is to choose from the pop-up list when you add rows:
There's no keyboard shortcut to activate the menu such as they had in the old Numbers (hope they'll add one). But the Pop-Up Menu approach has some advantages over autocompletion: no spelling errors or lack of capitalization when there should be capitalization, etc.
And should you ever want to take your Numbers with you, in a touch interface pop-ups are much more efficient than typing the first few letters of items.

  • My young kids have ipads and since I updated the software, but they have their own icloud account, predictive text within their messages shows all my contacts from my iphone but the contacts are not listed as their contacts, how do I stop this?

My young kids have ipads and since I updated the software, but they have their own icloud account, predictive text within their messages shows all my contacts from my iphone but the contacts are not listed as their contacts, how do I stop this?

I have deleted the iCloud account under my name on their iPads and replaced with their ones. Apple support said yesterday I needed to click the small 'I' by each name as it came up in the TO box and remove it. After doing rid for each contact under each letter of the alphabet it should remove them from latest contacts. Having done this, although I could not remove groups I had sent, I am not convinced they will not return once I have written a few texts, any ideas?

  • C3-01 lost predictive texting

I know the answer must be on here somewhere, but I'm blowed if can find it.
I always use the predictive text but suddenly it's started generating rubbish, and I can't get it back.
I tried switching off and on, removing and replacing battery, etc. Have debated re-installing factory settings but sounds a bit drastic after 15 months of use.
    Any suggestions welcome.

During writing text check if the writing language is set as your language. If it is, then restoring the phone may be the only option.
You may want to update the phone to new firmware. The changes mentioned in the link below-
    http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Cseries/C3-01-new-firmware-v7-51-released/m-p/1527160#M36199
Connect your phone to a computer & select Nokia Suite mode. If you do not have Nokia Suite on your pc you can download it from here. Now open the Nokia Suite & click on the “green icon of arrow pointing downwards”.
If any updates are available they will be shown in ‘green’. If not you may reinstall the current version. Reinstall option is shown in ‘blue’. If no option to reinstall is shown, please wait for sometime it will become visible.  Then the Nokia Suite will download the new software version of the phone. After it you will be prompted to take a complete back up of the device content. Please do not skip this step as reinstallation will erase all the personal data from the phone like contacts, messages, calendar entries etc.
Please note that if you have set a memory card password & you have forgotten its code then take a backup of the card data also as the card will be locked after update and can only be unlocked if you enter the correct code or by ways mentioned in this thread.
Also note that while updating the device ensure the following things-
    The device is full charged.
The internet connection Is of good speed & has a backup in case of power loss.
The PC should also be connected to back up power source as if the process is interrupted the phone may go dead. More on update failure & its remedies here.
Please do not run any resource intensive programs in the background while updating as it may freeze the PC which in turn will lead to a dead device.
Ignore all the windows pop-up notifications about device being disconnected.DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE UNTIL UPDATE IS COMPLETED.
It will be better if you disable security keyguard & PIN code request before proceeding with Update/Reinstallation.
Sometimes the device may show Test Mode. Do not panic & DO NOT remove the cable. Let the process complete.
Also check out this video on YouTube with instructions for update.

  • Add Predictive Texting in Italian

I just bought a NOKIA 5300 here in Canada and it comes with predictive text for English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Is there a way to add additional langugages?

In theory, you can't change the language set of the phone yourself... Many, MANY, earlier discussion threads about that, for instance these:
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&message.id=8023#M8023
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&message.id=8066
Or search the internet. People have found ways to go around this, although Nokia doesn't approve of these methods, and - so I've heard - doesn't allow that method to be discussed on their own forum.
By the way, what's the Product Code of your phone? It's weird, I have a Western European "Euro C" version of this phone, and it includes French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish, Dutch, ...)

  • E65 Predictive Text Error - You insists on being Y...

Well, my first post, E65 predictive texting does not recognise You or YOU or you ! it insists on Yot ! Any quick fix out there for this problem?
    Thanks
    skthecat

    Yes.
T9 works a little different from earlier S60 implementations. It used to be that when you added a word with the 'Spell' function, that it went in as the last choice.
Now it goes in as the first choice. So if you add a word by mistake, OR if you add a word that starts with 'yot' then that's the first choice that comes up.
So it's important these days to think twice before adding a word.
Fortunately it also 'learns' which words are used more often. The quickest fix is to type the word 'you' several times in an SMS message or in a text note.
So you type 'you' (yot will appear), then press the asterrisk until 'you' appears. Put in a space and do it again. and again. And again; it varies how many times you have to do this, last time it happened to me I had to type & correct about 5-6 times or so I think.
There's other ways as well, such as removing the dictionary file with a third party file manager such as 'Y-Browser'. But then you lose all the other words you added as well. Google how that is done works.

  • I have just installed Lion Is there any way to get predictive text to "learn" spellings or switch it off as it "corrects" my e-mail address ?

Does anybody know how I can switch off Lion predictive text or get it to "learn" spellings as it keeps "correcting" my e-mail address ?

You can turn it off in the Language & Text portion of System Preferences under the Text tab.  Remove the checkbox from "Correct spelling automatically".

  • 6303 predictive text 2-letter-words give numbers

    Hi,
Using a 6303 classic, in text messaging, pressing 2 then 3 gives "23" instead of the word "be".
The problem is mostly with 2-letter-words - "of", "on", etc.
It used to work fine in the past.
I thought maybe the number-words had been added to its dictionary, but can't find any way to remove them.
    Longer words work fine.
I've changed the suggestion "23" to "be" many many times, but it still keeps offering the default match of "23".

    Hi alata
Select the "pencil" button, scroll down to Predictive Text > "Matches" and then the list becomes available.
Star key(*)bottom left on pad will change words. Keep pressing until your happy with the word or you will be asked to spell it.

  • Turn off iTunes predictive text

Hi is it possible to turn off the  predictive text when trying to edit track info ?
This is so annoying when trying to edit track info I start typing and itunes tries to guess the name, grrr ;(
    thanks

    AFAIK you can't.
personally, i work around the issue by typing an "X" when starting to enter text (for instance "XBruce Springsteen"), which is removed once the edit is done.

  • Export to text removes trailing spaces in XI R2

I've found an article that talks about the problem of the export to text removing trailing spaces, but the article mentions that this is fixed in Crystal Reports XI with a newer version of u2ftext.dll to version 11.0.0.941.
[1218375 - Trailing spaces ignored when exporting to Text format|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_erq/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333233313338333333373335%7D.do]
I'm using Crystal Reports XI R2 and my u2ftext.dll version is already 11.5.11.1470.
I'm I missing something or is there another solution to the issue in XI R2?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

2 Years, multiple people are asking this question.......Does anyone in support have a response for keeping the trailing spaces intact during export?

  • 6280 - Cant turn Predictive Text on

I can't work out how to turn on Predictive Text. Elsewhere on this forum people have written about selecting "options" when writing a text message but there are no options for Predictive text that I can see.
Firmware 3.60 on Vodaphone. 2nd phone due to first being faulty.
Any Ideas? Is there a hidden function somewhere? Like pressing and holding the left function key during text input turns the t9 dictionary on/off
    Thanks

    hi aubs,
i live in holland, and i got my 6280 from a store that specialises in their own deals with subscriptions with network providers. i don't know if such stores exist in the UK, but there are many here in holland. their offers are often much better than any of the network providers (e.g. vodafone, t-mobile,e tc.).
thanks for the suggestion. i'll get in touch with them and post my findings here. just too busy lately.

  • Suggestions - predictive text and text entry

I don't know if this forum is intended for suggestions but here are a couple anyway.
    1. Because email and sms text do not operate in landscape mode the keyboard is very small. This leads to a large number of text entry errors compared to ther devices I have used. The screen sensitivity is excellent so this is ont a problem with using a touch device. Allowing landscape data entry would go a long wawy to solving this problem - the keyboard when used with safari in landscape mode is a lot better (perhaps 10% of the missed keys). An alternative which would be better for single handed use would be to ditch the qwerty layout and have a key pad that runs to 4 or 5 rows of keys instead of 3. In most cases it is only neccesary to see a single line of text entry so there is plenty of screen re-estate to do this.
    2. The predictive text feature on the iPhone is very poor. This is due to a fundamental error in its design. The current implementation assumes that the current word typed is complete but may be misspelled. To be more useful the feature needs to assume that the characters typed are correct and suggest complete words that start with the fragment available. The predictive text in Windows mobile is infinately better that that of the iPhone (and one of the few features I miss from my old phone!).
If this is the wrong place for posting these suggestion - sorry

  • Predictive text non-English characters to be made ...

I just filled an enhancement request on this feature, please vote for it HERE:
Predictive text non-English characters to be made optional
The story is: while using predictive text for non-English languages (Polish in my case) the dictionary words are grammar correct which include special characters like: ą,ę,ć,ś,ż,ź,ó,ł etc. For texting (SMS) operators count these as 3 characters making a message much longer than it looks. Therefore I can tell you no one uses these characters while texting and people use EN only characters instead a,e,c,s,z,o,l... which makes using the predictive text useless for eg Polish language.
I'd like to have an option to switch using these non-en chars off for predicting text, which is grammatically not correct but in real life that's how people type.
So basically if there's an option to disable lang specific characters I would be getting an example suggestion of 'Prosze' instead of grammatically correct 'Proszę'. 'Prosze' is a 6 character word, 'Proszę' is a 5+3=8 character word. Considering a single SMS message a 300 chars, than it really makes a difference.
Simple solution would be to replace every char ą with a, ć with c, ó with o etc... in each word suggested for the ones who have this option enabled.

    HI,
You can write a code in PAI of main screen. there by using loop at screen you can make that field editable or disabled.
    Code sample:
    loop at screen.
    ****condition for value check
    if screen-name = 'TEXT_EDIT_NAME'
    screen-output = 1.
    screen-input = 0.
    modify screen.
    endif.
    endloop.
    Hope this will help you.
