Preference Menu flash inside a pdf Document

Hello.
I'm using Captivate 4 -- while I publish the swf and html I also generate a pdf file.
Inside the pdf is a flash movie.
When I open the pdf-file with Acrobat reader 9.x I see infront of the flash movie
the Menu : Prefernces for Adobe Flash Player
This is the Menue where you can switch on/off the Micro, Camera etc...
Is there any way hide this menue ???
So I just see the flashmovie inside the pdf and things work like it would do inside an html-page...
anyone an idea how to fix this???
Thanks a lot!

this is the little menu displayed on top of the pdf-document,
it shown in all flash-pdf's I made:

  • Flash content is making my Adobe Acrobat X to crash (how to disable flash in the PDF documents?)

    Hello
I have Adobe Acrobat X, and I have a PDF document of around 700 pages. Inside, I have several pages I've downloaded from different websites, some of these pages have flash animations (I mean adverts with flash), when I click in a certain page of my PDF document that has a flash animation inside, booom it crash automatically.
How may I disable flash in my PDF documents?
    Thanks

Realistically you can't. Flash is enabled in the Acrobat X Family via embedded code, as it not only runs content within a PDF but also runs several elements of the user interface, such as the Share Pane.
If you know of a particular PDF file that is causing crashes, please submit it via a bug report.

  • How 2 search inside a PDF document using the firefox internal PDF reader

Cannot find any way to do a text search inside a PDF document when it is displayed by the builtin PDF player in Firefox.
If there is a way, how is it done?
If there isn't a way, it seems an obvious enhancement.

son of a gun. I've always searched in firefox by hitting slash and typing the search term, but that doesn't seem to work in the pdf reader. I guess, if I had searched for key bindings I coulda figured that out for myself.
    thanks!

  • Trouble with flash preview of PDF documents, embedding.

Yesterday, I noticed that the embedded PDF documents that I have posted on my blog weren't loading. The message in the embed window reads: 'Unable to Create Flash Preview. Please download to view in the native application.' In Acrobat.com, when I try to open the file for viewing it has a message that says: 'This file cannot be previewed. Please download instead.'
Thinking that there might be a problem with my PDF files, I uploaded a Word .doc, and used Acrobat.com to create the PDF. That PDF wouldn't preview either. I signed into my wife's Acrobat.com account, and had the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated! Cheers, Chris. I will attach a copy of the PDF I am trying to upload and embed, in case there are problems with the file itself (?)

    Michelle-
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. It's weird, eh? I tried the flash update, tried opening everything in FireFox... Same problems. I am attaching a few screencaps so that you can see what it is doing.

  • Links (urls) inside a pdf document are not enabled by the New firefox pdf preview feature but are in Chrome & IE

The new pdf preview feature in firefox desktop does NOT seem to activate any links (urls) inside the pdf meaning they are no longer clickable.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem.
I send out product information using pdf's with clickable links inside (as do lots of businesses) and this loss of clickable links functionality is a problem.
I also tried the same pdf files in IE and Chrome and their inline pdf previews keep all links fully working.
I know the pdf preview in firefox can be deactivated and the adobe reader can be used instead but in reality lots of people won't know how to do this or won't be troubled to find out how and will just move on.
Does anyone know if this feature is going to be fixed or supported or is it a deliberate security feature.
    Thanks.
    JP.

    Hey JPEdwards,
The PDF.js team is still hard at work on the built-in viewer. It looks like there is already a bug on file for this and they are aware of it:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=821599
Please don't post in the bug if you are just confirming that you've seen the problem too. That clutters the tickets ;)

  • Can you force a link inside a .pdf to open the "linked to" document in a new window?

When I have a link inside my .pdf document - linking to another .pdf document or to a Word document - how can I force the linked-to document to open in a new window?
I have a web site (business internal, so unfortunately I cannot point to it).  My HTML menu has links to .pdf documents - no problem.  However, once I open those .pdfs, they contain links to other .pdfs and to Word documents.  Clicking on these links, which reside inside my .pdfs, opens the "linked-to" docs in the same page.  How can I force them to open in a brand new frame?
All of my .pdfs were originally created in Word, and in the Word versions, the links DO open into new frames.  I am not sure why, when I convert them to .pdfs, they lose this feature.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi Magenta,
Would you mind reposting this question over on the Acrobat boards?  You've posted in the AIR forum and you'll have better luck with this over there.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Flash menu in Acrobat 9 PDF???

    Hi,
I want to create a Flash navigation menu in an Acrobat 9 document. The menu is on every page. I have the flash part done and the PDF is made, but how do I get the buttons in flash to jump to the correct page in Acrobat? Is this something I can do?
Basically, i want my flash Button 1 to jump to page 3, Button 2 to jump to page 6, and so on.
So far, from what I have read, I have to get Acrobat to talk to Flash's action script via JavaScript (in acrobat)? Is that correct? If so, can you give me some sample code that I can work off of? Or point me in the right direction? Anything will be good.
    Thanks so much

  • Acrobat 8 crashes - Reading Untagged Document & Preferences Menu

    Hey everyone.
I have installed Adobe Acrobat 8 (8.2.1) Standard on my Win 7 (32-bit) laptop. It was working ok for a short while but when I open a PDF I have a pop-up come up "Reading Untagged Document" and the whole program crashes shortly after. Also I have noticed that when I go to the Preferences menu (edit>preferences) the program crashes shortly after the preferences menu displays.

THis is a copy of a post by Rich1UK it worked for me. it is a workaround though, not a true solution. i hade the same issue moving from vista 32 to Windows 7 64.
Hey everyone. I have been having trouble with Acrobat 8 Standard on Windows 7 32-bit. Version 8.0.0 worked fine but when I try to update from this version I have had a problem. When I open a PDF I have a ‘reading untagged document' popup window open and shortly after the whole program crashes. If open a PDF document when I hold down the shift key the program works fine. However I have also found that if I choose to run the program as an administrator (permanently as an option) it works fine and it no longer crashes. Don’t ask me why but it seems to work. Maybe this can help someone!

  • I don't have pdf documents listed as a file type in the applications drop down menu so I cannot manage the handling of these file types. How do I get the pdf file recognised?

I don't have pdf documents listed as a file type in the drop down applications menu, so cannot handle these. How do I add a file type?

After a little Googling, it looks like B.Media is a content management system from Wave Corporation used for making catalogs. Doubtful you'd be able to license it at less than an enterprise level.

No.  I am able to use the other features such as underlining, highlighting, adding rectangles and oval and save those changes.

  • Is it possible to display a pdf document in flash?

I'm not that familiar with flex/flash but i was wondering if it's possible to display a native pdf document in flash.  If so are any add-on's required or does flex/flash have that capability built in.  Essentially I would be trying to create a pdf viewer in flex that allows users to markup documents and save them to the server for others to view.  I'm just in the discovery phase of this project, so any guidance would be great.
    Thanks!

Thank you very much for the reply, that's an interesting project.

  • Haw disable the saved icon of pdf document inside flex application??

    Hello,
My gool is to disable the save icon of pdf document when i open the pdf document inside flex application.
    Haw you any ideas?
    Thanks you

This isn't something that can be managed from the Flex end of things. You have to configure the document DRM.

  • One or more PDF documents are open inside a web browser - message

    Hi,
I have a new L series notebook and its great. The only foible I can think of is a message I keep getting when I try to shutdown. There is a message box that says "One or more PDF documents are open inside a web browser. If you exit adobe reader now, those documents will be closed. Are you sure you want to exit?".
The thing is I do not have any PDF's or web browsers open at the time! Can you help me please?
    Thanks, Mark.

    Hi Mark
Believe me its nothing serious the same happens on my notebook from time to time
Usually the PDF files can be read with the Adobe Acrobat reader. This application service runs in the OS background and this message can appears if the Adobe Acrobat reader cannot close the background process automatically
I have solved this tiny problem by removing the acrobat reader from the system. After new reboot I have reinstalled it again
Now the message does not appear and all runs like a dream ;)

  • Signature drop down menu greyed out. I believe it is because I saved the pdf document after placing a signature.  I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

signature drop down menu greyed out. I believe it is because I saved the pdf document after placing a signature.  I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

Do you mean the drop-down list that shows up when you right-click on the signature (in the Signature Panel or signature field)?
I do not think that just saving a PDF with no changes would result in that unless you somehow flattened the PDF.
Can you see the signature in the Signature Panel? Can you expand ([+] at left) the signature? Does the Signature Panel provide info for this signature? Is the signature validated? If "yes" then is the signature status Valid?
It could be that when you saved the file you somehow flattened the signature, so that now you have only signature appearance in the PDF but not a real signature field which contains all signature properties. If the Signature Panel does not contain your signature (enpty if your signature was the only one) then this is the most likely cause.
