Premiere CC hangs on startup ' scanning audio plugins'

Having trouble with Premiere CC on a Mac. Installed and re-installed several times, deleting everything I could find.
Everything installed fine - but when I startup Premiere, it hangs on the 'scanning audio plugins'
Does anyone have the same experience and if so, is there a simple solution?
Thank you.

Hi,
Please move all Items from the below mention folder location and empty the Folder
Main Hard drive->Library->Application Support->Adobe->Common->Plugin->7.0->Media Core
Once the Media Core folder is Empty then try to launch .
Also empty the Quick time folder from the below mention location
Main Hard drive->Library->Quick time
Move all components from the Quick time folder and empty the folder and then try to launch , it might fix the problem for you as it seems some plugins are causing the issue.

  • Crash on startup 'Scanning for Plugins'

Help! In a moment of lax attention I've done something stupid to the Photoshop CS version (original 1) and told it to search C:/programfiles for plugins whereas I meant to tell it specifically where to look.
So now it crashes when it gets to the 'Scanning for Plugins' part and of course I can't alter it back to what it should be.
Now when I run Image Ready the plugins are still as normal...
System Restore doesn't change the settings. Uninstall of the Photoshop component doesn't put it right either.
Can someone tell me what to do (maybe uninstall/reinstall the entire CS suite - but I guess even then it will still have the bad settings)
So is it a registry thing and if so what needs to be done to stop it searching the entire hard drive programs for plugins.
    Help would be most appreciated.
    Kind regards.
    John.

    delete "PluginCache.psp"
it should be in something like:
    C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER_NAME\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Adobe Photoshop CS Settings
that folder is hidden. make sure you have the ability to see hidden files and folders turned on in explorer.
if that doesn't clear it, delete:
"Adobe Photoshop CS Prefs.psp" (i think that's the name, i don't currently have cs installed...

  • Premiere Pro Freezing on "Scanning Audio Plug-ins"

    Hi All,
Adobe Premiere Pro freezes as I wait for "Scanning Audio Plug-Ins." The program "dvaaudiovideoscan" program has opened, but nothing is happening.
    -I have uninstalled and reinstalled.
-Deleted my "8.0" user folder in documents.
My iMac has run and has enough power to run Premiere Pro past and present.
I don't know what to do. I also appreciate that Adobe has no number that I can call even though I'm paying for this service.

  • Logic Pro 9 hangs when scanning Audio Units

    Hi everyone,
I'm having some issues with Logic Pro, it's being run for the first time after a rebuild but it seems to just hang when trying to scan for audio units. I get this message:
+"Logic Pro will now test 40 installed Audio Unit plug-ins to maximize system stability. This AU validation can take some time. Subsequent launches of Logic Pro do not require this test and will be much faster."+
I then get a progress bar and a "Scanning Audio Units (finalized 0 of 40)" box with an abort option. The abort option doesn't do anything but I can still quit Logic using the cmd+Q shortcut.
    So far I've tried -
1.) Booting into Logic without Core Audio and opening AU manager. It starts up but for some reason the manager simply refuses to open. I click on it and nothing happens.
2.) Deleted the com.apple.audiounits.cache in my ~/Library/Caches/ folder.
3.) Updated Logic to the latest version (9.1.3, was on 9.0.0)
4.) Removed all my NI Komplete 7 components from the /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components folder. This simply made Logic think there were only 22 AUs to scan instead of 40, but it still wouldn't do anything.
Oh and if it makes any difference I'm running a Mac Pro (2 x 2.8 Quad Xeons, 4GB RAM, OS 10.5.8)
Any ideas as to why Logic is hanging like this?
    Cheers, Dan

    Thanks for the reply.
Logic 9 can actually be either 64 or 32 bit depending on what you want to run it as (or which OS you have in this case.) I checked mine and it is definitely running in 32-bit mode, so there shouldn't be any conflicts on that side of things. See here : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3989
Plus, it has perviously worked with this OS version and on this very machine in fact, which is why it's so puzzling.

  • Hanging on startup: Is there an "audio filters" solution?

FCP HD has recently started hanging on startup when it gets to "loading audio filters." I have tried various things recommended in the forum, trashing preferences, running the FCP rescue program, deleting plug-ins from the audio folder in the library. Nothing works.
I recently updated to Quicktime 7.0.4 and thought that might be the problem -- a few people said it was buggy -- so I did an uninstall and went back to 7.0.1. No luck.
Has anyone found an easy fix for this? Or am I looking at a clean install of the OS and my apps? Or would you first recommend a re-install of just Final Cut? The procedure for that looks very convoluted, since it does not have an uninstall feature.
    Thanks much for any advice,
    Jim

look for any audio stuff that begins with "AU" and move it to another place or temporarily re-name it.

  • Third Party VST audio plugins  - stereo, multichannel

    Hello,
I am developing VST audio plugins. I have the trial version of Adobe Audition CS5 on Mac OSX and as I started to realize this version of Audition doesn't support 64-bit VST plugins, is this correct? or is there something I should do for Audition to scan and load my 64-bit plugin?
Another question I have is well I just made a 32-bit version of my plugin for Audition to find it and it works fine when its a stereo 2 input 2 output plugin.
But I have a plugin that is 2 input 4 output and although making it 32-bits Audition will scan and find it, It will always be disabled in the plugin list and I can't find a way to enable the plugin.
I would like to know if its possible to have a plugin that has more than 2 outputs and what do I have to do to enable it since the standard way won't do it (although the plugin is found). And also what is the deal with 64 bit plugins and Audition CS5.
Any information would be highly appreciated!
    Thanks you very much.
    Sergio.

This release of Audition is 32-bit only and thus only supports 32-bit VST plug-ins.  You may wish to try your 64-bit VST in Premiere Pro as it is a 64-bit app that also supports third-party VSTs

You can have plug-ins with more than 2 outputs, however, we don't support plug-ins with asymmetrical channel configurations.  There's a lot of details that need to be attended to in order to get that to be bulletproof.   So if you had something that was 6 in and 6 out, that should be possible in this version of Audition.

  • Ps elements 5.0 freezes at "scanning for plugins"

I have photoshop elements 5.0, and have had no problems with it for the past couple years that I've had it until now. Each time I open the program, it freezes, and it says that it is "scanning for plugins". I'm using it on windows vista. I tried uninstalling all adobe software I had on my computer and then reinstalling it on the advice of a friend, but this didn't help the situation. What should I do to get my photoshop to work again?

In the plug-ins folder, under the subfolder of import-export there was a plug-in called Twain_32. Is that the same thing? Because when I deleted that, there was no change.
Same thing. A little late, but you could have just disabled it by renaming it with the ~ (tilde) sign before the name instead of deleting it.
If it was twain, I would think it would hang on building twain not scanning for plug ins. Here's a tech doc on twain anyway...
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408849.html
First, try a reset of the application preference file.
Windows: Press and hold in as you launch, the ctrl + shift + alt keys as you launch the editor. Do not release these three keys...ctrl + shift + alt keys. A dialog box will come up saying something like "Delete Photoshop Elements settings file?" After this dialog comes up, you can release those three keys. click "OK" to accept.
Mac: Use above instructions to reset the application except change the shortcut key combo to cmd + shift + opt.
    Check if Elements loads correctly.
(Maybe, you pointed Elements in your preferences to an external folder with a native filter that belongs to another version of Elements or Photoshop which can cause conflict. The application reset will remove that check mark so if it works with a reset then you point the plug ins folder to another folder and you get a hang then you have a conflicting plug in in that folder.)
    If it doesn't....
Have you moved a native plug in from another version of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements into the Photoshop Elements 5.0 plugin folder? Having another version of Element's or Photoshop's filter in Elements will create conflicts. You might also check that you haven't installed a version of Camera Raw that doesn't belong in your version of Elements. (The Camera Raw would probably give a Camera Raw error but something to check since it's stalling at plug ins.)
Have you recently added any 3rd party plug ins...meaning downloaded  and installed a plug in that did not come with Elements? If so, rename them it or them with a ~ before the name.
Check if Elements starts. If so, you can remove ~ mark from each plug in one at a time then restart until you get the hang. This will tell you which plug in causes Elements to hang.

  • DVCPROHD Audio Plugin Failure

I couldn't find a place where this really fit—it's an audio plugin question, but I don't use the Pro Software—so I put it in the general OSX category; feel free to move it.
My issue is with the DVC PRO HD Audio plugin (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/DVCPROHDAudio.plugin). I am using a simple afplay command to try and add sounds on startup/login, but I note the following error when using the command through terminal:

For some reason the audio plug in is not loading correctly, and i can't figure out why. To my knowledge I have never messed with the audio plugins on my computer. Kicker: the command worked the first time I used it, but has failed in subsequent uses. Not sure if restart fixes the issue. Any ideas?

I have this problem happening on a fresh OS X 10.6.5 Install + Logic Studio 9. The console log is filling up with it like crazy. I guess I will remove it from the system for now, but I sure would like to know what it is and what affects the removal of it may have.
I get the same errors as everyone else, and my plug shows as Universal with a version number of 1.3.2.

  • Indesign CS5.5 hangs on startup

    Hi,
My Indesign CS5.5 (I'm running Macosx 10.6.7) hangs on startup and gets this crash log: http://pastebin.com/xDXmdrt4
I've tried removing the recovery folder, the settings prefs and the FontExplorer plugin... nothing helps.
    Anyone?
    /Erlandsen

Mikkel, if the problem goes away with a new account, it is almost certainly a problem with your ~/Library folder, and reinstalling InDesign does not touch that, so it is no surprise the reinstall did not help.
If you truly removed all the folders I specified, then I'm quite surprised it didn't fix it. Sometimes it is a permissions problem -- you
might check the permissions on those folders with Get Info in the Finder, and maaaaaaaybe try running Disk Utility's Repair Permissions (usually a waste of time).
If not, well, try moving *everything* out of  your Library/ folder, and then putting it back bit-by-bit (well, half-by-half). This may be a somewhat unpleasant and potentially destructive process.

  • Missing Audio Plugins

Just completed first project since updating to 10.0.8 - which was not without it's problems, invovling much deleting of preferences to cure the "restoring windows" hang... Anyway - made a compound clip of the final for export and went to grab an audio limiter to push the levels up a little only to find I had no audio plugins anymore - or so I thought. After much frustration and back and forth with safe boots and more preference deleting I discovered that I did in fact still have all my audio plugins - BUT - all of the catagories that used to display them on the left hand side of the effects browser are now missing; INCLUDING the main catagory labelled "AUDIO" - so it looks like there are no audio plugins available at all.. but actually, if you select "ALL" from the VIDEO list and then scroll down past the video plugins you get the the audio plugins... :-O
So I'm posting here for 2 reasons - firstly in case anyone else experiences the sense of panic I did when I thought I was going to have to export the audio to process outside and re-import (hours before delivery) and secondly because I would love to know "Where have all the audio catagories gone?"
I have Waves Mecury, UAD and many, many other plugins installed (594 in total) - so working my way quickly through the list to find what I want is now a complete pain.
Anyone have any ideas? Or is that just "progress'...?

No, this must merely a glitch that may probably be fixed by one of the standard troubleshooting techniques:
    1) trash preferences (which you probably tried already)
    2) revert to original layout
    3) delete the layouts folder inside ~/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro

  • Audio plugin manager

After some experimentation, I've found that CS6 Audio Plugin Manager doesn't remove old listings for plugins in the UI, and there's no way to remove them.  (I can choose not to enable them, but they still appear in the list.  So I now have, for example, three instances of a Lexicon plugin, only one of which is functional.)  Is there a way I haven't found to get rid of the ones that no longer need to be there?

If you choose the option to "Scan for plug-ins" making sure the "Rescan existing plug-ins" box is ticked, do you not "lose" all those extras listed?
I've not needed to do this recently but I'm sure that's the method I used some weeks ago to remove from the listing some items that were no longer present.

  • FCP - Audio Plugin Disable

At the startup, FCP scans for plugins (which for me include some UAD plugins), this slows things down quite a lot and some of the plugins fail because they are for another card and not authorized.
So.... is there a way to make FCP not scan for these plugins?

If the errant plugins could be added to a user's library instead of a system library (you can do this with fonts I know for sure), you could set up a user account that accesses these from it's library when you need them, and another user account that doesn't have these. i.e. keep what works in the System library, and keep what doesn't in a separate user account's library.

  • Logic crashes while scanning Audio Units

when starting up Logic, it tries to scan Audio Units. Installed I have an Akoustic Piano (Native Instruments, latest version), which I never use, came with a bundle. Audio Units cannot find it, so it scans and scans, Logic doesn´t start up but crashes. Can I skip the scanning or tell the system somehow that it should ignore Akoustic Piano? I don´t even know why it doesn´t find it anymore. This happened only after installation of Leopard.

Leopard has changed the AU format, so some plugins will no longer function. You will need to go into AU manager and turn off the offending plugins.
To do this, load Logic without loading core audio (hold down the control key while Logic is starting up). It will ask "do you want to run core audio" choose no, and logic should boot up. From there, go to your Au manager and turn off whatever plugins that are causing logic to crash.

  • WebLogic 10.3.2.0 hanging at startup after "The server log file is opened."

    Hi,
A WebLogic 10.3.2.0 server is hanging at startup. There are no error messages. The last command in the startup window is:
"The server log file <log file dest> is opened. All server side log events will be written to this file."
I think the next line should be:
"Security initializing using security realm realm."
Any ideas on what could be the issue? For instance what resources should be accessed at that point of time? There is sufficient space left on the (virtual machine) disk. The VM configured with 8GB memory. Could it be performance related still?

  • Firefox 31 hangs on startup with no error messages

Simply put, Firefox hangs right on startup. I see it loading the two generic tabs and then the wheel spins and then it says 'Not Responding' on the top of the window. I have to force close it each and every time, and I've also tried the following solutions in no particular order to alleviate the issue:
    1) Ran SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes last night for any possible infections. Reported back with nothing.
    2) Booted my laptop up in Safe Mode (with networking) and still couldn't get it to operate.
    3) Performed several clean uninstalls and re-installations which also included clearing out the profiles altogether and then trying to open it again, nothing.
    4) Booted up Firefox by holding down the shift key and resetted it to its default settings and then tried firing it up again. Nothing.
    5) Attempted booting up FF in Safe Mode with the shift key, nothing.
    6) Created a new profile and tried booting FF, nothing.
    7) Read this article http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs#Hyper-Threading about Hyper-Threading and followed the instructions which got it to operate, but I can't access the toolbar or the option menus. When I click on options Firefox closes with no error messages. I have a feeling this isn't the issue at hand but I figure I'd try it and at least I can get it to fully load and not hang.
    8) Deleted all Firefox extensions and Plug-ins, nothing.
    9) Enabled Firefox through firewall and antivirus settings, nothing.
    10) Updated my BIOS firmware as suggested in #7, nothing.
I've done almost 10 different things and I still can't figure out why Firefox keeps hanging on startup. I've looked into Youtube videos for tutorials and others posted about the Java crashing that was happening in an earlier version of FF. Since its not crashing, I'm unable to look into the crash logs and pinpoint a crash number or anything because it just freezes and when I click to close it I get a message saying: 'Close program' or 'Wait for it to respond.'
I'm running a 64 bit Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion g6-1c44wm Notebook PC
Microprocessor 2.10 GHz Intel Pentium Processor B950
    Microprocessor Cache 2MB L3 Cache
    Memory 4GB DDR3 SDRAM (1 DIMM)
Memory Max Maximum supported = 8GB
    Video Graphics Intel HD Graphics
    Video Memory Up to 1696MB
    Hard Drive 500GB 5400RPM)
I'm trying to be specific as possible! Please help! I'm at the end of my rope here!

Try to completely uninstall firefox, that means to '''delete''' the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory#Windows Installation directory] located for your 64bit in C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\ , also, '''delete''' the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox and '''if exist''', '''delete''' the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox.
then download and install again a new full installer from : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
disable firewall and antivirus and antispyware for a little bit, and run firefox. any luck ?
    thank you
