Premiere Pro Crashing on Win 7

The software worked fine on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop until I installed the latest update via the Creative Cloud control panel.  Now it crashes after about a minute after launch, not matter what function I do. I can let it do nothing and it will crash, I can load a file or start a new one and the resulting crash is the same.  I'm running Premiere Pro 7.2.0 (46).
I've reinstalled with multiple restarts/shutdowns with the same result.

    Check for corrupted or poorly-constructed fonts installed on your system.  A free font manager like the ones listed here:
    Best Free Font Manager
    can help with that.  I use FontFrenzy.  Start troubleshooting by using your font manager to make a backup of your current font installation, then pick half of the fonts and delete them.  Go into the Adobe apps and see if you still get the error.  If not, then you know the problem font is in the half you deleted.  Restore them and delete half again from just that group.  And so on until you find the bad font(s).

    Tried:
    1. Reboot
    2. Updating Graphics Drivers.
    3. Removing Red Giant Plug-Ins from my current Adobe Common Folder.
    4. Running in compatibility mode for Windows 7
    5. Running as Admin
    All Failed.
    Got a film deadline in 24 hours, really need this fixed like 5 hours ago. Any help would be amazing.

    Whenever I try to open a project I've previously been working on I get and error and Premiere pro crashes. I've found a workaround in the form of deleting my preferences, but I have to do this everytime which doesn't seem normal.

    Please go to the location of the mentioned aticfx.dll and move it to your desktop. This file might be a result of bad installation of Graphics Drivers. Please launch the Premier Pro and check if it works.

    The titler does not crash for me at any stage of the Adobe updates for Premiere Pro, including 3.2.

    Premiere Pro crash on launch (dvaui.dll fault) for one user, but not on random account created on same machine.
    How do fix?

    Fonts can cause issues. First, corrupt fonts can cause launch hangs and Titler crashes. Next, there are some fonts that are not corrupt, but just do not work well with Adobe products. One such font is from SunMicro Systems, and installs with OpenOffice - Deja Vu. There are probably many, many more. Some fonts, like Isabelle and Isabella (by some different foundries too), will not cause issues, but just not display properly in many Adobe apps.
    Fonts - you can't live without them, and sometimes it's tough to live with 'em, especially some.

  • Premiere Pro 5.5 Win crashes at start w/o internet connection

    Hello,
    I'm working with a client whose installation of Premiere Pro 5.5 on Windows 7 only crashes when they are not connected to the internet. The splash screen appears, loads all of the necessary items, and a window appears for a brief moment before disappearing. If I plug into an ethernet connection or connect to wireless, PP5.5 loads fine. The client will be working while travelling and will not have the luxury of a connection.
    I've tried reinstalling, resetting ther preferences, and installing the available updates. None of those things have worked. Any recommendations on what else I could try?

    I have the same problem.
    PPRO 5.5. starts up correctly, Sometimes it works for a short while, then after a command (random) it freezes and I have to manually shut down windows 7 to stop PPRO searching for a solution
    It started as far as I think after installing a second card for the 3th monitor (same branch, same drivers).
    This is my configuration:

    As given in many discussions about working with a 3th monitor there are oft problems, and suggests are same branch, same drivers.
    But this is not enough, I presume, anyone suggestions to make the system more stable with a 3th monitor working?
    It seems strange to me that a professional editing software cannot work with a 3th monitor. In the past I used a MATROX 100 card for the 3th monitor,

    Just recently premiere will crash if i open a browser window then return to the premiere software.
    run down of what i am working with:
    Windows 8.1 64 bit, Intel i7-3770k, 16 gigs of ram, Nividia 650, Anker 5000 gaming mouse, Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6, and the normal other insides (SSD 256 for os and software and a few SATA drives).
    If i just stay working in the premiere environment it will continue to work, its only when i leave the program.

    why? soll ich jetzt angst haben den cloudupdater zu verwenden weil dann alles instable wird? why? warum hat vor dem letzten update alles funktioniert und jetzt stürzt premiere pro beim laden des projekts ab. was soll ich nun denken? ist das genauso scheiße softwarephilosophie wie von unterweltklitschen? was ist da los? könnt ihr mir bitte helfen?

    Habe leider die gleichen leidvollen Erfahrungen gemacht, allerdings auf einem komplett neuen Rechner mit Aususboard. Dualcore CPU und alles was neu ist und Geld kostet.
    Ich findes es sehr bedauerlich, dass Matrox so viele Leute werkeln lässt nur um festzustellen, dass es nicht geht. Soviel Negativmarketing sollte man sich als renomierter Hersteller nicht leisten.
    Ein laufendes System kann nicht durch ein noch so tolles (auf dem Papier) neues nicht funktionierendes System ersetzt werden. Leider falle ich immer wieder darauf rein, andere wohl auch.
    In der Summe der verbrauchten Zeit ist das laufende System sicher besser.
    Wir Anwender sind da viel zu nachsichtig mit den Herstellern.
    Schade ist auch, dass Matrox keine Informationen gibt, wann denn 6153 durch ein wirklich funtionierendes Build ersetzt wird.
