Preventing "back" on cfcontent

I am sending a PDF file with cfcontent.
It loads acrobat inside IE but the BACK button is enabled
which tries to reload the sending page which then gets error that
the file not found (cfcontent had the deletefile-yes).
how can i prevent the back option?

yes it is, Of course, I really don't recommend it. But I have
seen it done,
And like you, I find it unethical.
Back in the day when people use browser recognition scripts
to redirect
visitors to pages that would work with the browser the
visitor was using,
the effect was the same. Once you were redirected to a set of
pages tailored
to the browser you were using you couldn't use the back
button to leave the
site. You could of course use the history list to leave.

  • IE Metro : Image used when swipe back gesture done

We are working to get our web application to work in IE metro (windows 8.1) as a kiosk but we are having a few issues:
    1. When the user swipes to go back they see (as they swipe) an image of the previous page. Is there any way to switch this off / control what image is used?
    2. As a temporary measure we blank the page before submitting - this was working when I was using a server name in the url but the behaviour totally changed when using an IP in the url - when using an IP in the url the browser appears to capture an image
when the page javascript is fired (could be on href click) not just at submit time.
The issue is primarily to do with a user logging out of the system but a new user being able to slowly drag from the left and see the previously submitted page. I understand that tabs should be closed etc but in this case we cannot guarantee this would happen.
Any help would be really appreciated.

    Hi,
the typical way to prevent a user navigating back to a login page is to use a Session variable in your server side code that tracks the session status.... in asp.net you enable and use forms validation.
When the current visitor/user logs out of your application you redirect the response to a landing page or the login page.
    1. That is the Travel Log and the actual web page that was viewed previously... equivalent to Back button on a desktop browser. IE running in kiosk mode (iexplore.exe -k "{url}" is frameless and addon-less.... there are no browser Back or forward
buttons... you need to disable gestures on your web site. (see
MSDN - user interaction (HTML) in Windows 8 ) that should prevent back and forward navigation by touch/gesture on a kiosk.
    2. 'blanking the page'? can you share some code/markup?
    Regards.

  • Backing Up iTunes Purchases to MP3

Does anyone know when iTunes first prevented backing up songs purchased from the iTunes Store on to an mp3 CD? I recollect doing this in the past, but now find that it can't be done with either version 7.62 or version 8.01. If possible, can you pinpoint the exact upgrade which did away with this feature?
    Thanks
    John

To burn an MP3 CD the files already have to be in MP3 format, iTunes Stores purchases are AAC so they can't be burned to an MP3 CD without being converted first. Standard copy protected iTunes purchases can't be converted so you couldn't put them on an MP3 CD. Copy protected songs can only be backed up to a Data CD or burned to Audio cd.

  • How do I correct a Double NAT status?

I have used time capsule 2TB for a while, made changes many times, never had a problem but today after I made changes it is giving me a blinking amber light from the time capsule unit and from the airport wireless utility status "Double NAT". How can I correct this status?
Thank you in adavnce for the help.

    Hi Thortey,
If you are having issues with a "Double NAT" notification, you may want to take a look at the following article; while it speaks to Double NAT specifically in the context of Back to My Mac, the information and resolution steps for a Double NAT configuration should be universal:
Back to My Mac: "Double NAT" configurations may prevent Back to My Mac connections

  • My Idevices are getting an IP address that is similar to Verizon Actiontec router, however I'm using Airport is primary router? Why?

I have my airport time capsule as primary router hooked up by ethernet from ONT from Verizon.  My Verizon Actiontec router is hooked up to APtime capsule via LAN for DVR and TV guide. It works, however my Idevices will get a different IP address 192.168.1 from time to time and not be able to access the internet.  I fix this by renewing my lease then the device goes back to the IP 10.0.0.1 like it should.  My question is why does this happen? How do I prevent it?
    Thank You in Advance.

    Hi alfredlino,
If you are seeing 2 different ranges of IP addresses, you might be in a double NAT situation as described in this article:
Back to My Mac: "Double NAT" configurations may prevent Back to My Mac connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1208
Even if you are not using Back to My Mac, the article still remains valid:
    Additional Information
How to tell if you are using "double NAT"
While every network setup is different, here is a simple way to tell if your computer is on a "double NAT" network:
In Finder, from the Go menu, choose Utilities.
    Open Network Utility.
    Click Traceroute.
    In the field, enter "www.mac.com".
    Click Trace.
After starting the trace, look for the line beginning with the number 2. If the address in that line is any IP address in either of the following ranges:
    10.x.x.x
    192.168.x.x
... then your network has multiple layers of NAT.
The Resolution instructions in that article should help resolve this for you.
    Cheers!

  • Software Update = Phone Fail

Just tried to update my BB software on my Mac.  When I was prompted to restart my BB I did so and now it won't turn on.
A red light in the top right corner occasionally comes up for 10 seconds and then goes out.
Phone fully charged this morning, so what is the problem, does anyone know?
    Thanks
    Seething
    P.S. I don't have a data plan, it's just used as a phone, so I doubt I have a virus.

Technical issues can sometimes prevent backing up. To clarify
does the backup fail as part of an update process such as firmware update or a normal manual backup?
Can you figure out what part of the backup process is causing the failure?
The most up to date software suite allows various tick boxed to select type of backup. Most data is stored on internal/external memory e: / f:, generally all that data stays there & in turn can be copied faster manually if require using mass storage mode.
From previous experience backing up phone settings & applications can either cause a delay or become stuck. I would suggesting backing up selected items, such as contacts, calendar, notes, bookmarks, messages/document at one instant & anything else separately. You can create custom backups to keep track. Remember bookmarks such as opera bookmarks will be separate to using something like opera link would be useful if doing selective backups.
If you did succeed to manually perform All backups, then you could hard reset your phone which would wipe all data & then perform firmware updates if available, ending with a repeat restore.
    I hope that helps.
Remember, Questions and Answers are required by this Nokia support board. It's very strict, don't complain, criticise or express opinions which does not answer question or your post could be deleted. My friendly warning.

  • Update a browser URL without reloading the page

Is there any way to update the browser url from flash without
    reloading the page?
My main interest is in being able to use flash to change the
url variables to reflect what is currently being displayed in the
    swf.
    ie.
    http://www.blah.com?frame=0 might be set to
http://www.blah.com?frame=10 when the swf reaches frame 10,
allowing the user to go directly to frame 10 if they return to the
    page later.
    Thanks
    Rick

You can try a technique that is used by web designers to
prevent back button actions. Through JavaScript you can write
strings after hash "#" - like bookmarking (anchors) and then read
this variables. The advantage is that page doesn't reload and
bookmarks are saved in the browser history (back button issues).
    Hope it helps.

  • Contacting Apple

Does anyone know how I can e mail Apple to see if they will let my daughter download her purchases again. She has lost them twice recently and had to pay over £100 to replace them after the first time. She was unable to back up as her internet connection was down, and now Windows has crashed and she can't access her music.
Don't know what Apple will say, but we can try.
    Thanks

She was unable to back up as her internet connection was down,
I don't understand this statement. An Internet connection being down would only prevent backing up to an online service. It would not prevent backups to a CD/DVD or external hard drive. Even if she needed to use an Internet-based backup for some reason, if she could get the Internet to make a purchase from the iTunes Store, she could have at that time made a backup to any Internet-based backup service. So why was she unable to make any sort of backup?

  • Master recipe with chage rule

    Hi
I have following process for creating approved master recipe.
    1) Master recipe created with no change rule in recipe header. We dont want to use change rule 2 from c201.
    2) When recipe is complete then change rule is changed to 2 with ECO.
Once approved recipe is in system, we want to prevent back dated ( prior date to valid from in ECO) changes in master recipe
Could you please inform how to do it with above mentioned process steps.

  • T1 integer register file

Need some help regarding how the T1 irf works.
From bw_r_irf.v, during a SWAP operation, apparently during 1 cycle, 8 registers need to move from the "active_window" reg to "globals" reg. If I understand correctly, "active_window" is made up of rf cells, and "globals" is made up of sram cells. To move 8 registers (8x72 bits) from one memory structure to another memory structure in 1 cycle seems to require a lot of hardware (8 read ports and 8 write ports). Could anyone explain to me how this SWAP is really accomplished? Thanks,
    James
    always @ (posedge clk) begin
    if (swap_global_d1_vld) begin
    for (i = 6'd0; i < 6'd8; i = i + 1) begin
    active_pointer[6:0] = {global_tid_d1[1:0], i[4:0]};
    regfile_pointer[7:0] = {1'b0, global_tid_d1[1:0], old_agp_d1[1:0], i[2:0]};
// prevent back to back swaps on same thread
    if (swap_global_d2 & (global_tid_d1[1:0] == global_tid_d2[1:0])) begin
    globals[regfile_pointer[6:0]] = {72{1'bx}};
    end
    else globals[regfile_pointer[6:0]] = active_window[active_pointer[6:0]];
    end
    end

Thanks. Finally understood some of the wordings in the megacell doc. In every register cell, there are 9 bits, 1 for active_window, 8 for architecture window. This is a very clever way of implementing the SWAP operation.

  • ITunes stalled because of download error

All music files have been download BUT iTunes shows two music files in queue. This has prevented backing up all devices. Device shows, but iTunes goes into spinning wheel of death.

The only two things that I can think of (other than restoring the iPad) are to sign out of your Apple ID, restart the iPad and then sign in again. Sometimes that kick starts the waiting, or stalled download. This isn't necessarily an Apple ID issue, but a reset of your Apple ID.
The other alternative would be to finish downloading the app in iTunes on your computer and then sync the iPad with iTunes.
Actually, three things ... Or did you try this?
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first.

  • Connectiom Manager

    Hi Dears,
I have installled Oracle Connection Manager(8.0.4) on windows NT server 4.0 and my network have 5 Oracle 8.0.4 Database Servers
    my clients are almost 800.
All clients use different applications to connect different Servres. I want to control the client access because of secure the data. I configure Connection Manager and test it is running well. I have also configured two Names Server in Network.
    Clients who know the
    (1) port
    (2) protocol
    (3) host
they can direct the server. But i do not want it.I think CM works like TCP Firewall.
How can i acieve my goal. Plz help me
My other query is that what r the configurations of Names server to work with SQL Server.
    Thanks
    Muhammad Munir

I would protect the data by using access controls at the data rather than the connection, because as you say, anyone who knows the port/protocol/host can connect.
Use a VPDB or restricted views which only grant access when the user is connecting from the correct application front-end. This is the only way to prevent back-door access.

  • -5000 error updating iPad to ios5

Trying to update my iPad to ios5 and I'm getting an error that reads.
An error occured while backing up this iPad (-5000).  Would you like to continue to update this iPad?
Continuing will result in the loss of all contents on this iPad.
So far I've done a hard reset of the iPad twice, rebooted my PC a couple times which is running Windows 7.  Deleted the one backup in the iTunes software and still getting this error.
    Any ideas?

I expierenced the same (-5000) error message and took the advise of Jindisek and Disabled all of my Antivirus software and everything executed flawlessly.....Thanks Jindisek!
Ditto - although two issues needed to be resolved:
    1. PC Tools Spyware Doctor was preventing back-up on iTunes start. Thanks Rootmail on another thread who advised:
Solved--at least for me under Windows 7.  Spyware Doctor by PCTools caused the problem but they fixed it and noted it on their support forum.  It also fixed an issue where the iTunes store was not appearing in iTunes though the store appeared properly in browsers.  Their fix addressed both issues for me.
The iPad once again backs up and syncs properly on the Windows machine, and the iTunes store appears properly.
Short version:  I was using Spyware Doctor with Anti-Virus version 8.0.0.651.  The issue has been fixed in version 8.0.0.662.  Simply download the new version  http://www.pctools.com/mirror/sdasetup.exe
