I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.

I am trying to factory reset my Iphone5 by clicking settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings. After this is displays a window saying Password Required enter your Apple ID password to erase this IPhone and remove it from your account. I don't want to erase the phone from my account I just want to erase what's on it so old notifications will stop showing up.
The message means that you will be deleting your iCloud account from the device, and therefore removing it from Find My iPhone. Erasing all content and settings completely erases your phone, including all your accounts and settings. If you then set up your phone and sign back into your iCloud account, enabling Find My iPhone again (or restore your backup), it will then be associated with your account again.

Why cant I erase all content and settings? When I choose this option from the menu it takes me to a screen with a USB plug and an itunes logo and freezes there.
What happens when you connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes? That is how you restore to factory settings.

I am trying to erase all contents on my phone, I am trying to get it back to factory settings, I don't have any jailbreaks or anything like that on my phone, The circle thing has been running for six hours now, is this normal? It sounds like you are trying to restore the phone to its factory defaults but the process is stalled or the phone is totally unresponsive.
If the phone will respond to the Sleep/Wake button, I would turn it off the normal way, then turn it back on.
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

When it turns back on try the Erase All Content and Settings option again.
If the iPhone is completely unresponsive and will not turn off normally, I would reset the device with this process from the above article:
If your device stops responding, you can reset it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I have begun to erase all contents on my phone as part of the network unlock process but I started this almost 24 hours ago and it still has not completed. There has been a spiraling wheel in the middle of the screen since it begun. Can anyone advise me on what to do?

I wish to reset my ipad (as advised by the Apple Store) to attempt to resolve an issue with a non-responsive part of the screen.. However, when I select General>Reset>Erase all content and Settings, I am prompted for a a Restrictions Passcode (which I have never set). I have now entered random codes 11 times and the ipad has not reset. How do I get past this? I am now at the point where I have to wait 60 mins before I can enter another random passcode. I just want the ipad to clear down, erase everything so I can start again.
The other option is to force iPad into Recovery Mode.

I was given an iphone 4s by my sister as she got a new one, now i want to clear it so that i can set it up with my own details, if i erase all content and settings will this affect anything on her new iphone as it is synced to the same gmail account
her contacts are connected directly with the Google Server so as long as they are saved to her Gmail account she should be 100% fine.. the only contacts she may lose are the ones that she added directly onto the phone and did not sync to her Gmail account.. so you should just double check with her on that

hi, I was about to reset my iphone3g when I accidentally selected erase all contents and setting. It was stucked with the iphone logo, so i tried to fix it by restoring all my datas in iTunes. I was able to successfully fix it but when I inserted my sim card it says that simcard not recognized. I tried all the solutions in the net but nothing seemed to work. What should I do? I know. I was with my brother when we did this. He didnt clearly understood the question that poped-up. Regarding the simcard, after successfully restoring it on itunes my simcard won't work. I'm not able to send and receive calls and messages.

No. Your other devices will be unaffected.
Just tap Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase all content and settings. -
